We left our dog Eddie with Rachael while we visited Amberley. Eddie has a little bit of separation anxiety when we leave him alone. Racheal took great care of him and made sure he was looked after. She sent us videos and pic updates. Recommend highly if you are looking to leave your dog in good hands.

Stanley loved his stay at Danielle's - I think he has been missing being part of a group, my older dog passed and my daughter's dog moved out with her, so he enjoyed the company. Danielle is very knowledgeable about dogs and she is helpful in assessing and monitoring his recovery from an injury.

Joyce and family took fantastic care of Gina, she took to them instantly on the meet and greet which was very reassuring before her stay started. Joyce gave lots of daily updates and made sure Gina was so well looked after with lots of walks, garden time, cuddles and care given to make her feel as settled and comfortable as possible. Would highly recommended and book again for future trips. Thanks a million.

Louise is a great dog sitter. She sent photos and an update of Toffee, showing that he was settled in at her home and relaxed. This is great to know. I would thoroughly recommend Louise and will be booking Toffee in with her again soon. Thanks Kevin

First stay with Louise, who was very welcoming. He had a great day, a walk in the woods, company from other dogs and home comforts. Louise really understood Harry and we wouldn’t hesitate to leave Harry in her care again.

What a lovely and welcoming lady Rachel is. I felt complete trust that Basil would be well looked after for the day. I would certainly recommend Rachel to others and would love to take Basil back again. We walked past Rachel’s house this morning and Basil pulled to go back in 😁

About: Hi, my name is Alix. I am 23 years old and live in a ground floor flat in matson, Gloucester. I have 2 children, 2&5 years old. I also have 4 cats who have been the first encounter for many dogs which I am happy to do with the owner here if your dog hasn’t been around cats before. I also understand that sometimes dogs and cats aren’t the best of friends so I’m happy to keep them separate if needed. I unfortunately don’t currently drive so you would need to bring your pooch to me. Caring for dogs is a passion for me. I took a break from dog boarding for a while but now on the hunt to make more doggy friends and help out owners! I have been dog boarding for 3 years now and cared for dogs of all ages. My children are used to dogs & my partner has 2 Staffordshire bull terriers at his mum’s who my children see regularly. I also have a jack russel and a jug at my mum’s who I absolutely adore and grew up with. I have my own fenced garden and will definitely take your pooch on walks at our local field! Please get in touch if you’re interested. :).. I’m currently unemployed so always at home. Monday & friday I do school pick up and drop off, however if your dog isn’t very good with being alone I can bring them along or I can find someone else to take my daughter to school on the odd occasion if need be of the 2 days I usually do and I will stay home to ensure your dog isn’t left alone. As long as i have notice i can ensure we’re home all day if need be for your dogs anxiety I am in a ground floor flat, I have my own fenced garden and a field nearby which dogs absolutely love to go and have a run around. I keep dogs on lead for safety. Dogs will be welcome to come on the furniture and sleep in the bed unless the owner requests otherwise.

Christine and Craig are very welcoming and made me feel at ease from the start. I was a bit worried at first because Yuki is a big dog and can be a challenge when it comes to socialisation, but they clearly know how to handle her with care and confidence. They kept me updated with photos and messages about how Yuki was doing, which gave me great peace of mind and helped me feel connected to my pup. They were also quick to respond and always friendly when answering my questions. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring and reliable dog sitters!

Lisa is an amazing dog sitter! You can tell that she loves dogs and is very experienced in their care. Leia had such a lovely time with Lisa, playing with the toys, exploring the garden and having cuddles, she didn’t even want to leave when I arrived to pick her up, which is a good sign of just how happy she was with Lisa. On another note, Lisa was very patient and accommodating when my plans changed. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lisa and will be getting Leia booked in for a return visit soon.

George could do a very last minute booking. Our dog felt at home the minute we stepped into his home. He took our dog straight out and then played within throughout the day. we received regular updates and was flexible with us arriving back early to collect. Our dog was a happy and tired pooch that eve. Thanks George

Molly and her partner took great care of our Labrador, who came back to us calm and clearly very content. They were professional, friendly, and communication was very easy throughout. They were really attentive to Leo’s needs, and he clearly enjoyed his time with them. We look forward to booking with them again and would highly recommend their service.

About: I have many years of experience with dogs, we had dogs in our family since I was a child. My brother was a police dog handler for many years which helped me learn how to train dogs. So if you are struggling with your puppy I can help with that. I mostly work from home as I am self employed. My availability is very flexible and I can usually be available at short notice too I have a house with an enclosed garden and a minutes walk from a large park. I was nervous about leaving Joni with someone she didn't know due to her separation anxiety. Hayley & Dom were lovely & reassuring at our meet & greet and Joni liked them both, going up to them for a stroke. She made herself at home and had a good look around obviously comfortable in their home. On our first day leaving Joni, Hayley kept me updated with how she was getting on which put my mind at ease. Joni howled a few times when she realised she was somewhere strange, but went to both Hayley and Dom for a cuddle & reassurance. When I picked Joni up she didn't notice me initially as she was to busy being involved with what Hayley & the children were doing! Dom reassured me that Joni got on well & settled despite her anxiety and they were very understanding. Joni was tired out after her busy day. Hayley & Dom made me & Joni feel very comfortable, I'm very pleased I've found these kind people, who clearly understand and love dogs.

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Stroud

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Stroud on Rover is £28.75 per day (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 1,604 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Stroud. About 86% of Stroud sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Stroud commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
