“Lyra enjoyed her stay with Laura. We were a bit late picking her up and Laura was very accommodating. Was happy to do a meet and greet beforehand so we knew lyra was going with someone who will look after her well.”

About: I've been around animals for as long as I can remember and have had a variety of pets since I was a young child. I have experience dog sitting for dogs of all breeds, ages, sizes and personalities, so I'm confident adapting my care to each dog's individual needs. I understand that every dog is different, and I'm always happy to go the extra mile to make sure your pup feels safe, comfortable and loved while they're with me. Growing up, I had a Lurcher, an English Bull Terrier, and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, which gave me experience with very different temperaments and energy levels. Since then, I've regularly looked after many other breeds and have become comfortable caring for dogs with a wide range of personalities, routines, and requirements. I'm patient, understanding and affectionate. I'm confident handling different temperaments. Whether your dog loves long walks, lots of playtime, or simply wants someone calm to keep them company, I'll make sure they receive the care and attention they deserve. I am currently not working after taking a career break, which means my schedule is very flexible. I'm able to work around your needs. I'm happy to care for your dog in your home, especially for larger breeds, as I live in a one-bedroom flat. Caring for your dog in their familiar environment can also help them feel more relaxed and comfortable while you're away. Your dog's safety, wellbeing, and routine will always be my top priorities. I'll take the time to understand their individual needs, including feeding schedules, exercise, medication (if required), favourite walking routes, and any behavioural quirks or preferences. I always follow your instructions carefully to ensure your dog feels safe, happy, and cared for. I'm also happy to discuss your dog's specific needs beforehand so we can make sure they're receiving the best possible care while you're away.
About: Hi! I’m an experienced and caring dog lover with over six years of hands-on experience looking after pups of all ages—from playful two-month-old puppies to sweet senior dogs over ten. I’ve cared for many breeds, both big and small, including Border Collies, Golden Retrievers, Dachshunds, Westies, Bichons, Fox Terriers, and Shibas. Each dog has their own personality, and I always take time to understand their needs, routines, and quirks. I believe walks should be fun and engaging, not just the same old route every day. That’s why, whenever I have time, I love taking dogs on mini adventures—hiking in Red Deer Park, exploring Snuff Mills, playing in the river, or spotting deer and flowers in Clifton. Their happiness is my biggest reward, and I love seeing them explore the world with joy and curiosity. I’m incredibly patient, calm, and gentle, and I treat every dog like my own. I currently live in a spacious, pet-friendly 1b1b apartment with plenty of room for dogs to relax, even larger breeds. Whether your pup loves cuddles, quiet time, or outdoor fun, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and at home. I'm currently a PhD student, but I work from home most of the time, so my schedule is quite flexible. That means I can spend plenty of time with your pets throughout the day I live in a pet-friendly 1b1b apartment that’s clean, spacious, and comfortable—even for large dogs. It’s a quiet environment, which is great for pets who are sensitive or prefer calm spaces. I keep the floors clean and disinfect regularly. If I’m hosting a cat, there’s a 2.2-meter-tall cat tree at home that’s always a favorite. I follow each pet’s usual feeding habits and routines carefully, so they can feel safe, relaxed, and loved during their stay.
About: Hello! I've had 5 years of experience with dogs' aftercare, and around 13 years with cats. Since childhood I always fed and looked after street animals in my hometown. And my friends could rely on me to check in with their pets, feed, clean and look after them. Additionally, I shortly had an experience of looking after a senior dog. I am currently working full-time, I am available for boarding and house sitting or animal care/ dog walks on the weekends, evenings, and Mondays. I can offer pets lots of attention, companionship, and dedicated care. I follow owners’ instructions carefully, keep pets safe and comfortable, and make sure they feel relaxed and loved while in my care.
“Amanda did a great job with Maple. Communication was quick and smooth and she sent lots of photos. Maple was very happy to see her again and she came home a very happy pup! Would recommend and contact again”

About: Hello! I'm a passionate Animal Scientist with a big heart for pets of all kinds. My journey in pet care began with my degree in Animal Science from UNESP (Brazil), one of the best universities in Latin America in this field, where I specialised in animal behaviour. For over five years now, I’ve been running my own business, "Casa da Zoo," gaining hands-on experience and a deep understanding of what pets truly need. I’m experienced in a variety of services, including: • Specialised Pet Sitting: I'm comfortable caring for all types of pets—from dogs and cats to exotics—and am skilled in looking after senior pets and administering medications. • Canine Expertise: I offer professional dog walking and training, using gentle and effective positive reinforcement techniques. • Behavioural and Nutritional Support: With my scientific background, I provide professional advice and compassionate care tailored to pets with unique needs. My goal is to give your pet the best possible experience, with lots of love, professionalism, and a true understanding of their individual well-being. I'm excited to be part of the Bristol pet community! I currently have a very flexible schedule and wide availability throughout the week. I’m ready to provide your pet with the best possible care, offering them plenty of attention and comfort whenever they need it. I provide care both in the owner's home and in my own home, depending on what works best for you and your pet. Whether they’re staying in their familiar environment or coming to mine, my top priority is always their safety, comfort, and well-being. Before we start, we'll have a meet & greet to go over their specific routines, from feeding to medication, and I'll follow your instructions to the letter. You can expect regular photo and video updates, so you'll always know your pet is doing great and feeling loved. When staying at your home, I’ll always treat it with the utmost respect and ensure everything remains safe and sound.

About: I’ve been taking care of cats and dogs since I was 15 years old, as my family have always had pets. Nowadays I frequently help my family friends and neighbours if they have to go away for some time. In the past I have taken care of my dog, who had allergies all the time, he needed medication and other stuff, I also have experience in training, so would not mind to help you out with training your pet. Otherwise I would just love to meet new people and pets, and help take care of other’s little furry friends.☺️ I am a uni student, therefore I have plenty of free time between lectures and in the evenings, therefore, would gladly spend that time with someone’s pet friend ☺️ I am a very calm person and would never do anything to scare or trigger your pet, if the owner has a cage and there are instances where the pet has to go into a cage ( those times have to be listed by the owner) I can easily cage the pet. If walking the dog, it will always be on the leash, unless we are in the area, such as doggy park, allowing to unleash the animal. Doing this job, my main priority will always be my and the pets safety.
About: I have over 5 years of experience caring for dogs and a lifelong love for them. Growing up, my family and I adopted a small, mixed-breed dog from the streets, and he became a cherished part of our home until he sadly passed away. Dogs bring so much joy to my life, and I’m passionate about spending time with them, ensuring they feel loved, safe, and happy. Currently, I work full-time as an Account Specialist. On weekdays, I’m available to care for dogs and cats after 4:30 PM. On weekends, I’m available throughout the day and can provide care at any hour to suit your pet’s needs. I provide a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for pets in my care. My home features a pet-friendly balcony for fresh air and playtime, ensuring they have space to relax. Since I don’t have any pets in my flat, your furry friend will have my full attention, making it a calm and stress-free experience for them.
“Jackie is brilliant and couldn’t rate her highly enough. Poppy had three walks during her day and also had the benefit of Jackie’s lap for all of the morning while she was working, which is above and beyond. I saw Jackie walk with her v briefly while coming to my car and Poppy was looking up at her with the sort of adoration she usually saves for family ❤️ Poppy has some separation anxiety and doesn’t always eat or poop when with sitters but not a problem with Jackie. Communication was excellent and from point of drop off to collection I couldn’t have been more reassured. I only met Wally the schnauzer fleetingly but he seemed an absolute sweetheart too. I can highly recommend Jackie to anyone seeking dogcare in central Bristol and will definitely be looking to book with her again. Thank you, Jackie - was an absolute pleasure!”

“Lucy is great, she kept us well informed and updated about Buddy and that he’d settled in fine. She took him for two walks including one long one. He was shattered at home 🙌 He went back today and ran straight in, very happy to see her. Would definitely recommend!”

“Synolda is kind and using her is convenient! Leaving your dog with her has the added attraction of the extra socialization with her darling little Jack Russell terrier in addition to a completely dog friendly environment. Your puppy will be treated with love, taken for walks, and be a part of a family while they are away from you. I highly recommend Synolda!”

Holly was great with our little puppy Bojack! We were nervous leaving him for first time with a sitter but Holly made the whole process so comfortable and chill! Bojack loved being there and he settled instantly which shows how much of a nice environment it is! Holly also lives in an ideal area for dogs! We deffo deffo would book her again! Really attentive and responsive too!

Anna is a gem. She responded to our last minute booking request as our original plan fell through. She looked after our pup Koda very well and managed his excitement around another pup superbly! She sent us lots of updates through the day which were very much appreciated. ❤️

Synolda is a fabulous person to leave your beloved pet with. She is kind, caring and takes great care of the animals in her care. Mojo was welcomed and made to feel at home pretty much immediately. I was kept informed throughout the day and was sent photos and videos of him playing and sleeping etc. He is always happy and settled when I arrive to collect him (always pleased to see me but not stressed or anything). I would not hesitate to recommend booking Synolda and would definitely book her again - thank you Synolda xx
Laura is really friendly, she listened attentively to our description of Stella's needs and habits and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The sit went really well with no problems and we were really happy to leave Stella in Laura's care. We're confident that Stella was very well looked after and we look forward to asking Laura again in the near future. Highly recommended.

Bea looked after George for the afternoon with a Dachshund of a similar age. They appeared to have had a lovely time, with matched energy. George was happy when I picked him up and his new friend seemed sad George was leaving. Thank you Bea and will see you again.

Olivia was brilliant! She took such great care of my dog and made the whole experience completely stress-free. It’s so obvious how much my dog loves her and spending time with her. She kept me updated throughout, which I really appreciated, and I came home to a very happy puppy. I’d will happily be booking with Olivia again and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their dog.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
