“Charlotte has been absolutely fabulous at looking after our energetic 2 year old lab/spaniel cross. She immediately put us at ease on meeting us and our dog warned to her straight away. She has been quick to answer all our questions and has been totally reliable. We came home to a beautifully tidy house and a happy sleepy pup. Cannot recommend her highly enough. Thanks Charlotte 😊”

“I can't recommend Lana highly enough. She stepped in at very short notice to look after my dog for the weekend and was fantastic. She gave us regular updates and provided pics and video of him having cuddles and out on walks. We came home to a very relaxed and happy dog. She was also kind enough to feed and check on our two cats. I would not hesitate to book with her again and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter.”

“Will did a long stay with Kemi for us, and we really appreciated all of his updates. We came home to a happy and healthy dog, and the house was clean too :). Would definitely book with Will again”

“Naomi looked after our sensitive whippet Ernest for the day. She was absolutely fantastic with him, and he calmed straight away. I also received lots of lovely pictures and videos throughout the day - and he was very happy indeed!! Couldn’t recommend Naomi enough, and will definitely be requesting more day care in the future! Thanks so much 🐾”

“Marisa was such!! a lovely sitter for our dog. We loved how many photos and updates we received. It was apparent that Marisa took the time to understand our dog's routine, preferences, and quirks, making the entire experience easy and stress-free for everyone. Marisa also left our flat in spotless condition. It was evident that she respected our space and went the extra mile to maintain cleanliness and order. We will 1000% be trusting her to house sit for us again and recommend her to everyone looking after a sitter for their pets.”

“Catherine has been a fantastic dog sitter for us whilst we’ve been on holiday- she has been so accommodating and understanding, really responsive and sent lots of great photos of our dog Bonnie. When you’re away it’s important to feel like your dog is in safe hands and that’s how we’ve felt the whole time with Catherine!”

“My dog had the best time with Isobel. I can’t wait for something to come into my diary so I can book her again! She could not be more lovely and was great at sending me updates and photos.”

“Charlotte looked after Lily for us in our home and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We felt really comfortable with her straight away, and she kept us updated throughout which gave us real peace of mind. Lily was clearly very well looked after – we’ll definitely be booking with Charlotte again!”

“Amber is absolutely wonderful! We felt so at ease from the moment we met her at the meet and greet. Our GSP River can be anxious around new people but he was so calm around Amber. Thank you so much for looking after him, we really hope to see you again soon”

About: I’ve been looking after dogs ever since I was a child with our family’s Pomeranian. I now have my own cat. It’s been my absolute honor to look after so many cats friends through Cat in a Flat
About: I spend most of my time between Bristol, Hereford, London and Sheffield and I provide pet-sitting services nationwide. I grew up with dogs, border collies and jack russell terriers, in the north of England. 20 years in the London rat race (project management) and 12 years of meditation, travel and independent study later... animals are back in my life and taking centre stage, at least for now! I returned from 3 years living in India in July 2024 and have been pet-sitting for the majority of the time since then. I've had the good fortune to meet a vast array of quirky characters along the way, four-legged and two-legged alike! Making new friends all the time! I've had cockapoo puppies, lazy old hounds, adolescent staffies, cheeky pugs, rescued terriers, OAP shih tsus, anxious chinese cresteds and a whole host of super cool cats to keep me on my toes... I've never been happier! I am currently working on a terrifying writing project and immersed in research for the foreseeable future. This keeps me at home most of the time so your beloved furry/scaly/feathery friends will have plenty of company and attention. My writing, studies and occasional freelance research work are all completed online, so my time and geographical location can be flexible according to your needs. Essentially, I try to remain as flexible as can be! Having said that, I travel the country doing this work and will always prioritise longer durations, 1-week+. I will be relocating semi-permanently in Bristol, Brighton or London in 2026, so opportunities in these places will likely pique my interest for 2025. My rates are negotiable for longer sits! Let's talk! I have spent the last year caring for dogs and cats in their own homes, and this is the service I offer here. Dogs and cats benefit immensely from being in their own environment and having consistency in their daily routine. I recommend conducting a full consultation, either in person or via VC, before committing to a sit. I will have many questions about your loved ones, such as behavioural issues, medical history, likes/dislikes, routine, preferences for play, do's and don'ts, etc. Whenever possible, I prefer to spend a few hours with you and your pets before you leave, just to help them feel at ease after your departure and to ensure I know everything I need to know. My iCloud storage is bursting at the seams with photos and videos of dogs and cats in myriad states of play, rest, love and hilarity. You'll have regular updates and pics to remind you how lucky you are to be returning home.

About: I started walking, looking after and dog sitting from the age of 14. I now work from home with flexible hours which gives me a plenty of free time so much so that I have started looking after friends dogs before I discovered Rover. I have always loved dogs and find them a joy to be around, I am happy to stay at your pets home or house them at my own. Please feel free to ask me any questions, I’m happy to answer and accommodate ☺️ I work remotely and I’m lucky that my job allows me to work anywhere so I can be very flexible, especially during weekdays and for drop ins and walking. Please try to give me 1 weeks notice for sitting where you can, although I know how crazy schedules can be! I have looked after a large range of cats and dogs within all age ranges. I am confident walking dogs on and off lead as well as respecting commands that you have set in place. I love to play with all pets as well as cuddles and attention. I am comfortable with any rules you have set in place.
“I can't thank Diya enough for the way she looked after Pops. She spent a lot of time beforehand going through Pops' needs and also gave me regular updates while she was with him, including photos which I really appreciated. Diya was so conscientious when it came to looking after Pops and giving him the best care and I would love to have her look after him again as it is clear that she really cares about animals. Thanks so much Diya x”

“Gigi took excellent care of our dog Puck & cat Bob, keeping us well updated and left the house spotless! Puck needed medication while we were away and she sorted it just fine.”

“Eleanor was so lovely and patient with my reactive rescue dog, Lenny. She is a really calm and reassuring presence, and she kept me updated through the day. Eleanor is really knowledgable about dogs and their well-being, and she is a confident and experienced handler. We’ll definitely rebook with her, I think Lenny also really enjoyed his day and all the sofa cuddles!”

Ella was a really great sitter. I needed to be out of town however my foster cat Jelly had just had eye surgery so couldn’t be left alone and needed to be given medication. Ella put my mind at ease, kept Jelly company and administered all the medication as needed. She was a great house guest as well

Catherine looked after our cat for 4 days and cat sat at our house. She communicated with us about how our cat was getting on, and sent loads of lovely pictures as well. Organising everything with Catherine was easy and we would definitely recommend her to others.

Maisy was fantastic with my 1 year old Cavachon and 12 year old cat for two nights. She kept them cool in the heatwave, entertained the pup and took her on a walk once it was cool enough. Nori had a blast!! Thanks so much Maisy, we would love to work with you again.

Naiomi has sat for us twice now. The first time was an all day session while we attended a wedding in town. The second was a shorter session while we had our first post puppy date night. In both instances Naiomi was the perfect sitter-calm, fun, and sensitive both to our needs and our dog Milo's needs. During the pre booking meet and greet Naiomi did a great job of introducing herself to Milo and asking us questions about his needs and quirks. During the sitting sessions themselves she happily sent plentiful and relevant updates, complete with the most adorable photos. We were worried about Milo's ability to settle with a stranger given his high separation anxiety, but he actually calmed down quite quickly with Naiomi, far more than he has with any other new person he's met, and that continued throughout both sitting sessions. We are over the moon with how well Naiomi has cared for our beloved young dog, and we look forward to the next time we require sitting services. Naiomi will be the first person we call.

Kat and Ollie were fantastic sitters who I would highly recommend. They were not phased by my bouncy young cockapoo, were friendly, trustworthy and kept me updated throughout. They also left my home as they found it. Would love to use Kat & Ollie as sitters again in future!

Jason was great house sitting with Toby and Mila. Kept them entertained and made sure to walk Toby when was cool. Jason was also great dealing with an incident with another dog and keeping me informed. The house was super tidy and clean as well!!! Will certainly recomend

Molly was friendly, warm and responsive from the start. Communication was excellent and Molly took the time to reassure us that Poppy was ok, as Molly was kind enough to look after her even though Poppy had been very poorly in the days leading up to Molly coming to us. Molly left the house exactly as she found it and we would recommend her as a sitter with great thanks.

I would highly recommend Greg to anyone looking for someone to look after their Pet. Greg was brilliant with my dog Lando and I felt totally at ease leaving her with him. He was responsive, knowledgable and very caring with her. Will definitely rebook in the future.

We love Luce!! And more importantly, so does our dog. Luce has taken our dog on a few walks and she has also sat in our house. We’ve found her reliable, important since she’s been here when we’ve been abroad. She keeps us really updated and sends lots of photos. Very happy to have found her and we will keep booking!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Bristol walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bristol choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
