“Charlotte looked after our dachshund for 10 days and was absolutely brilliant. She gave regular updates and sent photos so we could see how happy and relaxed he was. When we returned from our holiday, the house was as we left it. I would definitely recommend Charlotte and will book her again. Our dog sat at the door for half an hour after she left waiting for her to come back!”

“Naomi was instantly personable. Our dogs took to her immediately (which is unusual), and we felt totally comfortable going out and enjoying the evening knowing that they were happy and in safe hands. We will definitely be asking Naomi to sit for us again, and highly recommend her for anyone seeking pet sitting in the area. We'd give 6 stars if we could!!”

“Catherine has looked after our energetic 2 year old lab/spaniel mix a few times now. From the very start she has been brilliant, quick at responding to messages, reliable and amazing with Arbie. Before agreeing to look after him she suggested a trial walk, something that immediately gave us confidence she takes the safety of the dogs she looks after seriously. From the regular updates she sends we can see Arbie is being utterly spoilt and having a fab time. We have complete confidence knowing our boy is in such good hands, honestly can't recommend Catherine highly enough, thank you Catherine!”

“CJ looked after our two cats Tango and Cash. Tango is quite shy and is used to me being home most of the time. Tango relaxed around CJ really quickly and I got lots of very sweet updates. CJs communication was brilliant throughout which put me at ease, especially as I could see how well Tango and Cash were being looked after. I cannot recommend CJ enough and will go to them in the future any time we need care for Tango and Cash. Thank you!”

“Marisa made sure Pippa was well cared for while me and my family went away for a long weekend, and I would highly recommend her! Marisa learned Pippa's routine, kept us updated on Pippa's adventures while we were away, and left the house spotless. Thanks Marisa! Look forward to booking you again.”

“Yiran was great with our dog Ruby. We haven’t had her long and she made Ruby very comfortable while we were away. She also sent regular updates to put our minds at ease. Highly recommend!”

About: I currently work at a dog day care where we house over 30 dogs per day in an outside/inside environment where the dogs play and interacted with each other. From this i’ve learnt how to monitor dogs behaviour and reactions to certain situations or environments. I’ve had animals my whole life, Dogs, Cats, Horses, Sheep etc and i have experience with multiple breeds of dogs from Chihuahuas to Bernese mountain dogs! I’ve learnt how to train dogs from puppy’s to an elderly aged dog who just needs some help with their age. I’ve had cats throughout my life and love their quirky personality’s, I understand how some cats want their own space and how some want some gentle company! Ultimately I love dogs and cats so much and do anything I can to help them out and treat them like they deserve, I treat all animals as if they are my own! I’m Fully available on Tuesdays to care for your pet, but on the other week days I finish my main job at 5pm so I would only be free in the evenings 5:30-10pm. I’m also free on Saturdays and Sundays to help where ever I can! I am able to safely keep your dog or cat in a safe environment at your home, Constantly keeping an eye where they are at your home and making sure there’s no way for them to hurt themselves whilst you’re not there or any areas that they have the chance to get out of, I promise to leave your home with a happy pet that has been treated how they deserve. If you would like me to take your dog to a certain area to walk i own a car harness!
“Sofiia was amazing with our two cats! I never like leaving them and she was more than happy to follow my list of instructions and sent me loads of updates so I know they were in great hands. They were really relaxed in her company, would definitely book again!”

“Gadget immediately fell in love with Charlotte. Got great updates and photos throughout the day and he was super chilled when I got home. Great sitter - would definitely book again.”

“I can't recommend Lana highly enough. She stepped in at very short notice to look after my dog for the weekend and was fantastic. She gave us regular updates and provided pics and video of him having cuddles and out on walks. We came home to a very relaxed and happy dog. She was also kind enough to feed and check on our two cats. I would not hesitate to book with her again and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter.”

“Kerry was brilliant, taking a late booking, arriving on good time and providing loads of updates while looking after Bramble. She's very experienced with animals and really knew how to ensure our pup was looked after. Thank you again!”

“Amazing first sit with Betty who gives the first impression of being absolutely lovely and someone who knows what she’s doing! Daisy clearly took to her straight away and we came back to a very happy, calm dog who’d had a lovely days of snoozes on the sofa and ice creams with a brand new friend. Betty also kindly agreed to do this particular sit at quite short notice as a way for her and Daisy to get to know each other before a longer one in a couple of weeks time. Thanks again Betty and Daisy can’t wait to see you again soon!”

About: Ive grown up with dogs and other animals living on a small farm and since moving to Bristol I miss them massively. I work from home and do other random part time jobs. I love walks and getting out and about and giving animals attention is my greatest pleasure! If your animal comes to me it will be extremely spoiled. I work part time, but if I’m ever free I would be more then happy to have a dog with me even if I’m working from home I can always go out for walks. I have a fenced in garden with very high walls. A house where they can roam freely and downstairs stays very cool in summer! I also have a bath/shower downstairs if they get grubby and been a wash!!
“My two dogs were very happy with Gigi and loved the walks she took them on. They immediately seemed comfortable with her and I felt very confident leaving them in her care. Gigi kept me updated with some lovely photos and videos and the house was just as I left it when I got back from holiday. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gigi to others looking for a dog sitter.”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Bristol
We are just back from a 2 week vacation (overseas). This was our first time using Rover, although not first time having our house and dog looked after. I am very pleased with the experience. Scott communicated well prior to and during the sit, the house was left tidy and Dasher looked happy. Dasher is a 10 year old Golden Retriever with some anxieties - despite a heatwave, it is clear that Scott was able to manage him well. Thank you Scott

Eleanor was outstanding with our animals. It was really unfortunate and bad timing that both our dogs had bad tummy's from there yearly jabs but she was really professional about everything and kept us up to date with how they both were. The dogs really seemed to have a great time with her despite being poorly. The cats are easy but they were both really comfortable around her straight away. She sent us plenty of pictures and updates. Came home to a clean house as well so that's always a positive. Thank you again

Would 10/10 recommend Jack as your per sitter. He was so very thoughtful when meeting Reggie and adjusted his schedule to ensure Reggie would be most comfortable. He has a lovely dog of his own that gets along well with other dogs. He even spent one night just with Reggie to make sure he settled in comfortably before introducing another dog. I was away for 3 weeks and had absolutely no concerns at all. Was very very happy with Jack as our dog sitter. Plus his home has air conditioning which I'm sure was lovely for a dog in this heat!!

Roberta was an absolute lifesaver! She came to look after our dog, Luna, at very short notice on an exceptionally hot afternoon, and we couldn’t have been more grateful. She was responsive, reliable, and incredibly adaptable, giving us complete peace of mind that Luna was well cared for. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Roberta again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable pet sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Bristol walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bristol choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
