“Charlotte is amazing, shes confident with my two boys who can be a lot as they are English Bull Terriers (notoriously stubborn breed). She sent me loads of photos and didnt mind me checking in every couple of hours to make sure they were ok. I had a v bad experience with a previous sitting who actually lost of one of my dogs, so I was very anxious to leave them with someone. I feel so much more relaxed and happy and am just very grateful for Charlotte's top tier service <3 I wouldnt have been able to have a great day out withour her. Thanks again Charlotte!”

“Sarah was absolutely amazing! It was my first time leaving my pup and she sent me lots of updates and pictures which made me feel so much better. She’s so friendly and came over for a meet and greet before hand. I will be using her again for sure ☺️”

“Catherine has looked after our energetic 2 year old lab/spaniel mix a few times now. From the very start she has been brilliant, quick at responding to messages, reliable and amazing with Arbie. Before agreeing to look after him she suggested a trial walk, something that immediately gave us confidence she takes the safety of the dogs she looks after seriously. From the regular updates she sends we can see Arbie is being utterly spoilt and having a fab time. We have complete confidence knowing our boy is in such good hands, honestly can't recommend Catherine highly enough, thank you Catherine!”

“Naomi looked after our sensitive whippet Ernest for the day. She was absolutely fantastic with him, and he calmed straight away. I also received lots of lovely pictures and videos throughout the day - and he was very happy indeed!! Couldn’t recommend Naomi enough, and will definitely be requesting more day care in the future! Thanks so much 🐾”

“Marisa took amazing care of our old boy, Lucky (our black cat) over Christmas, and we couldn’t be happier. She sent lots of photos of him looking super relaxed and happy, which really reassured us while we were away. It was clear she genuinely cared about making sure he was well fed, comfortable, and totally chilled. She was very communicative, asked all the right questions, and was incredibly friendly and warm throughout. Our flat was also left in perfect condition—spotless and well looked after. We would definitely recommend Marisa and wouldn’t hesitate to book her again. Thank you Marisa!”

“We have nothing but absolutely wonderful things to say about Bryony. She arrived on time, was very trustworthy and kept the house immaculate, even washing the bedsheets before leaving. She did everything we asked of her, looking after our 3 pups and 2 kitties in our home for 2 weeks with kindness, care and compassion and kept us updated with messages and pics throughout our holiday. Bryony is a lovely person, and we would 100% recommend her to anyone. We will definitely be using her services again, without question. Thank you Bryony for everything you did. ❤️”

“CJ looked after Luna and our house for three nights and she was great! Kept us updated with everything including pictures and left the house spotless, even doing the bed linen. Luna loves her and we have booked her again for a longer stay in April whilst we are away. I have no hesitation in recommending her”

“Gadget immediately fell in love with Charlotte. Got great updates and photos throughout the day and he was super chilled when I got home. Great sitter - would definitely book again.”

“My dog had the best time with Isobel. I can’t wait for something to come into my diary so I can book her again! She could not be more lovely and was great at sending me updates and photos.”

“Lana was very good with Sabre, she took him on two walks when she really didn’t need to, which we really appreciated and also made sure he was fed when he was getting abit restless, she also washed up his bowls which was a really nice touch! Thank you Lana for looking after my son 🐾”

“Ioana was amazing with our dog Lily! She was very attentive and asked lots of questions during our meet and greet which made me feel like Ioana was very prepared and professional. She sent me updates with pictures several times a day which was obviously very appreciated as I get anxious leaving Lily. She housesat for us and left the house super clean and tidy. Lily had warmed up to Ioana right away which made me feel at ease. Would strongly recommend Ioana. We have already booked her again!!”

“Amber is wonderful! Always makes us feel completely at ease and she takes our lively GSP in her stride. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Amber to anyone. Thank you, we look forward to seeing you again soon.”

“Yiran was great with our dog Ruby. We haven’t had her long and she made Ruby very comfortable while we were away. She also sent regular updates to put our minds at ease. Highly recommend!”

About: I've been around animals for as long as I can remember and have had a variety of pets since I was a young child. I have experience dog sitting for dogs of all breeds, ages, sizes and personalities, so I'm confident adapting my care to each dog's individual needs. I understand that every dog is different, and I'm always happy to go the extra mile to make sure your pup feels safe, comfortable and loved while they're with me. Growing up, I had a Lurcher, an English Bull Terrier, and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, which gave me experience with very different temperaments and energy levels. Since then, I've regularly looked after many other breeds and have become comfortable caring for dogs with a wide range of personalities, routines, and requirements. I'm patient, understanding and affectionate. I'm confident handling different temperaments. Whether your dog loves long walks, lots of playtime, or simply wants someone calm to keep them company, I'll make sure they receive the care and attention they deserve. I am currently not working after taking a career break, which means my schedule is very flexible. I'm able to work around your needs. I'm happy to care for your dog in your home, especially for larger breeds, as I live in a one-bedroom flat. Caring for your dog in their familiar environment can also help them feel more relaxed and comfortable while you're away. Your dog's safety, wellbeing, and routine will always be my top priorities. I'll take the time to understand their individual needs, including feeding schedules, exercise, medication (if required), favourite walking routes, and any behavioural quirks or preferences. I always follow your instructions carefully to ensure your dog feels safe, happy, and cared for. I'm also happy to discuss your dog's specific needs beforehand so we can make sure they're receiving the best possible care while you're away.
“Amazing first sit with Betty who gives the first impression of being absolutely lovely and someone who knows what she’s doing! Daisy clearly took to her straight away and we came back to a very happy, calm dog who’d had a lovely days of snoozes on the sofa and ice creams with a brand new friend. Betty also kindly agreed to do this particular sit at quite short notice as a way for her and Daisy to get to know each other before a longer one in a couple of weeks time. Thanks again Betty and Daisy can’t wait to see you again soon!”

“Amy is simply amazing!! Amy stayed at my house for two weeks and looked after my overly clingy bear of a dog Mishka. Mishka had a wonderful time and was so well looked after, I could not have found a better sitter and just hope I’m lucky enough to use Amy’s sitting services again. Thank you Amy.”

“My two dogs were very happy with Gigi and loved the walks she took them on. They immediately seemed comfortable with her and I felt very confident leaving them in her care. Gigi kept me updated with some lovely photos and videos and the house was just as I left it when I got back from holiday. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gigi to others looking for a dog sitter.”

“As per usual, Sarah absolutely exceeded all expectations with our most recent booking. I was nervous as it was the first time leaving Beans to go abroad but Sarah made it so easy - sending pictures and messages and letting us know exactly how the little man was doing. Will definitely be booking in again, thank you so much, Sarah! ❤️❤️❤️❤️”

About: I've never known life without a dog- I've grown up around them since birth. I love all dogs, big or small, but I have particular experience with big breeds and rescue dogs, having owned them myself (including my Scottish Deerhound) and grown up training and caring for them. I've spent years dog walking for neighbours, family and friends, and regularly help my mum, who's a professional dog walker, with her round. I've also done local dog sitting back home in Suffolk. Having moved to Bristol, I'm excited to bring that experience and genuine love of dogs to new clients here. I’m currently taking a break from employment so have all the time in world! Whenever you need a sitter or walker, I can be available. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’ll follow your care instructions carefully, including feeding, walks, medication (if needed), and maintaining their usual routine. I’ll keep your home clean and secure, provide plenty of attention, playtime, and affection, and send regular photo and message updates so you can relax knowing your pet is in caring, reliable hands.

We have booked Rachel for the first time this weekend, following a meet and greet a few weeks ago and our reactive Dalmatian is absolutely besotted with her! They clicked straight away and it's so nice to meet someone that just gets dogs, especially the reactive kind. We felt at ease with Rachel immediately and we are so glad we found her, her communication and updates were great throughout and we knew that our girl was in very safe hands.

Tom and Holly looked after our 2 dogs for 4 days and 3 nights in our house. Both dogs were amazingly cared for, Cooper is an anxious dog with daily medication and this was all handled brilliantly. House was left super tidy and the dogs were happy. Would recommend and will definitely be booking again.

Kerry looked after my dogs, at our home, for two weeks whilst we were away. We’ve never used a pet sitter for as long a period as this as we usually use family but Kerry was fantastic at keeping us in the loop while we were away so that we knew all was OK at home. One of our dogs gets very anxious being away from the house so knowing he was safe at home and as happy as could be without us there meant a lot. We would happily use Kerry again at any point
Lydia was fab! She came to meet us and spent time getting to know our routine. She kept in touch throughout the week she looked after Luna. She checked in when wanting to do something with Luna. Would most certainly recommend… we felt really comfortable leaving Luna with Lydia.

Zoia was amazing looking after my cat, Liquorice. She was so trustworthy, caring, and responsible, and it was clear from the start that Liquorice felt comfortable with her. Knowing she was there meant I could fully relax and enjoy my time away. She also left the place lovely and tidy, which I really appreciated. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Zoia to anyone looking for someone kind, reliable, and genuinely caring with their pet.

Sarah was great - good communication, super friendly, left our house nice and tidy... And most importantly - did an amazing job of looking after our doggy. We recieved pictures and updates throughout our holiday, and he seemed very relaxed and happy when we returned. Many thanks!

Giulia was amazing with our 15 week old cocker spaniel. She is super knowledgeable about dogs and is a lovely person and very easy to talk to. She was also punctual which we really appreciate. Even with our puppy being a handful we felt very safe and secure leaving her with Giulia. Would 100% recommend her to other pet parents!

Bronwyn went above and beyond and we’re so pleased we booked her to look after Ralphie. She followed all of our instructions and even washed and changed the bedsheets after her overnight stay. Ralphie had such a lovely time in her company and even followed her out when she left! Bronwyn was polite and professional, I will be recommending her to everyone. Thanks again Bronwyn!

Ella has been a brilliant sitter for Baxter again, she responds to all advice given in relation to his care positively & kept us informed with pics & messages during her stay. Baxter is getting on now & it’s been lovely to have peace of mind leaving him in Ella’s care while we were away for a weekend.

Amazing first house sit from Lauren, who Daisy loved from the moment she met her! Lauren is clearly a very experienced dog sitter and animal lover who understands that different dogs have different needs. She was careful to understand Daisy’s specific requirements, behaviour and character traits before the sit began and really good at giving reassuring updates throughout the day. Lauren is coming back to sit Daisy again in a couple of weeks which Daisy can’t wait for!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Bristol walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bristol choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
