“Georgia was absolutely amazing with our puppy, Fergie, while we were away. From the moment she picked him up, she kept us constantly updated with thoughtful messages, photos, and videos, which honestly gave us so much peace of mind on holiday. She followed his routine so carefully, asked great questions about his routine. We were especially impressed that she noticed and respected all the little things we’ve been working on with him, from toilet training cues to waiting patiently before meals. She even commented on how well-trained he was and how much work had clearly gone into him, which meant a lot to us. Fergie absolutely adored her. It was obvious from every update how relaxed, happy, playful, and cuddly he felt with her. Georgia went above and beyond by making lick mats for him, trying out his harness, taking him on walks, and giving him loads of affection and attention throughout the day. She genuinely seemed to love spending time with him, and that really showed. We came home to a happy, settled puppy and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. We’d trust Georgia with Fergie again in a heartbeat and would recommend her to anyone looking for someone caring, attentive, communicative, and genuinely wonderful with dogs. 💕”

“Erin was brilliant with our golden retriever Ernie, she sent us daily updates and pictures from his walks and left the house very neat and tidy when she left, will definitely be booking her again!”

“My two dogs were very happy with Gigi and loved the walks she took them on. They immediately seemed comfortable with her and I felt very confident leaving them in her care. Gigi kept me updated with some lovely photos and videos and the house was just as I left it when I got back from holiday. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gigi to others looking for a dog sitter.”

About: I’m a student nurse who’s experienced in taking care of both people and pets. I have experience in looking after cats - I’ve lived with them since I was born. I have also lived with dogs that I have enjoyed helping take care of when they needed ( or when I’ve just needed a bit of company!) I am currently on holiday! In term time in a student paediatric nurse :) I’m just looking for something fun and bit different to do whilst I’m off. I’m really happy to chill at the pets house or take them for long walks! I will not be able to provide services at my home
“We are very pleased to have found Bao. She arrived in plenty of time, and was just lovely with the dogs. She sent photo updates while we are out, which was very reassuring, and the dogs relaxed around her immediately. We hope that she will be able to look after the dogs again soon.”

“Another brilliant sit from Eloise who our dog Daisy has been pining for since she left! Eloise sat Daisy for our 4 day and 3 night trip to Paris, which we had been nervous about seeing as it was the first time we’d left the country since getting Daisy and the longest time we’ve been away. From the moment Eloise walked through the door however our minds were immediately put at ease. Daisy was so happy to see Eloise I’m not sure she noticed us leave, and clearly had a lovely weekend of walks and snuggles on the sofa. Eloise was super communicative throughout the sit, asking advice about how to make Daisy feel better when a firework spooked her, and even kindly making sure she continued with the training we’d been doing with Daisy on her walks. Thanks so much again for everything Eloise and Daisy can’t wait for her next sit with you! Xxx”

“Our dogs are not easy to look after and they (and we!) were left even more anxious than usual after a negative experience with another sitter recently, but at the initial meeting our Yorkie, Dexter, took to Millie straight away and Dinah, our over excitable Shar Pei cross, settled down more quickly after Millie arrived than she does with some of our oldest friends! When it came to the booking itself, Millie put our minds at rest by arriving early to let the dogs settle in with her before we left. She kept to their normal routine as instructed, gave Dinah her meds when she had a little allergic flare up, and updated us throughout. We were able to relax knowing they were in safe hands and we came home to two happy and comfy pups! Millie was brilliant, we can't thank her enough and will definitely be in touch next time we're thinking of going away!”
About: I currently have a dog who is a 5 year old labradoodle. I have looked after her since she was a puppy meaning I am experienced in training whether that is for puppies or older dogs. I take her for walks twice daily so I understand their needs and schedules. I am a complete dog lover and I’m currently at uni so I miss being around dogs! I am currently not working and at uni so I will be available all days of the week at any time for the most part. This means I will be able to easily go along with your dogs schedule to allow them to be the most relaxed as well as make sure to send regular updates! I make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for whether they are in my home or their owner’s home. I keep the environment clean and calm, and I always supervise pets to ensure their safety. I also make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and affection so they feel happy and secure. I provide regular updates and photos to owners so they know their pets are doing well.

About: I've been around dogs for as long as I can remember. With a genuine love of spending time and caring for them, I grew up around my Aunt who would always have two dogs by her side. Usually a German Shepherd and a Labrador, so I am very comfortable with larger breeds and learned how important, exercise, attention and consistency is for a happy dog. I myself am a very energetic person, I enjoy people, animals and company, this is one of the many reasons I wanted to sign up to Rover. For the past two years I've been regularly looking after my friends poodle, Luna, who you may see in some of my photos. Unfortunately, my friend moved back to London a few months ago and I have found myself missing having the occasional furry friend. Caring for Luna including walking, feeding, playing with her, generally just making sure she was happy while her owner was away (As well as keeping her away from any open bins). Whether it's an energetic walk, playtime or simply keeping a dog company while their owner is out, I'm happy to adapt to their routine and needs :) I am comfortable with both small and large breeds. The largest size I'm able to walk is around Labrador or German Shepherd size and the dogs would need to be reasonably lead trained. I have a spinal condition, so very large dogs that strongly pull on the lead wouldn't be suitable for me to handle safely. I work on a rotating rota (9-5) and receive my schedule about a month in advance. So I usually know my availability several weeks ahead of time. I have two days off each week, which are usually during the week rather than weekends. On those days I'm typically available from morning through to afternoon or early evening. At the moment I've listed my main availability as Monday - Friday, as weekends tend to be busier for me. I can sometimes offer evening visits or occasional overnight stays, particularly when I have two days off in a row. Daytime care hours would roughly be between 8am-6pm dependant on how far I'm travelling. I can only offer pet sitting at the owners home. If we've already built a good relationship, I am always happy to discuss occasional flexibility where possible. When caring for pets, their safety and comfort always comes first. I will always make sure to follow any instructions left by the owner so that the pet can keep to their normal routine as much as possible. Especially if they are young. In the owners home I will ensure that their is fresh water available and they are fed according to their schedule and receive plenty of attention, playtime and exercise (where appropriate). As well as making sure that I am careful when entering and/or leaving a home, so that pets won't slip out. I am also more than happy to provide updates via photos and/or videos to the owners throughout my stay for reassurance that their pet is happy and well looked after.

“Jack and Amy took great care of our Jasper while we were away. He had a really nice day staying at theirs and loved his walks and all the attention he received. We were given regular updates and pictures throughout. All communication was very easy and helped to make everything smooth and comfortable. Highly recommend 😊”

About: I used to look after dogs in my old flat, dog walking mostly, and some times for my family friends for long stay. I’ve got a bunny of my own he’s 6 years old, a very healthy and happy boy. I’ll look after your pets with the same attention to detail as I look for people looking after my Harry. I’m a student at UWE and work as a sushi chef some days of the week. I want to get some extra income and I’m available whenever needed to take care of your fur-family I’ve got a nice backyard and live by a very nice neighbourhood by the woods with lots of walking places. Very friendly place with lots to go.
“Angus was great with my dog Laika! He met my dog beforehand and they were very at ease with each other. I’d asked him if he was able to arrive before 7am for a day of dog sitting and he was able to happily accommodate that - great comms, really flexible and helpful, updates throughout the day and I have been left with a happy and tired dog! Would absolutely recommended and will look forward to welcoming Angus back! Thanks so much 😊😊”

“Scott went absolutely above and beyond to make sure my pets were well looked after. My dog has special needs, and I was so relieved by how thoughtfully and carefully Scott planned everything in advance. He followed the medication schedule perfectly, made sure my dog was comfortable at all times, and gave him the best care I could hope for. He also sent regular updates, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I’m incredibly grateful and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate sitter.”

About: Thomas here, I’ve had pets of many kinds growing up, always loved playing with them and taking care of them. Recently my girlfriend Claire and I have done house-sitting for many friends which includes cats and dogs, sometimes two pets at a time (although happy to do more than two if needed). We’ve followed their feeding and walking schedules as needed, and always checked in with owners whilst they’re away. Any questions just ask :) Between my girlfriend and I, we both work from home a few days a week so often will have full-time coverage at home between us. We take turns doing dog walks in the morning, and evening. We have office hours so can always be sure to maintain a good feeding schedule in both mornings and evenings, along with a walking routine or any other tasks needed in your pet’s schedule. It varies from pet to pet, so we always ensure to adhere to any specific requirements from the owner first (medication, feeding requirements, routine). For some pets, that could be barring off certain areas to avoid hazards, or keeping certain things out of reach. Ensuring a good distance from other pets when out on walks if needed, monitoring for any worrying or unusual behaviours. Claire’s parents have a sensitive dog, so she is used to adapting to the pet’s behaviours to make them comfortable.
“Jess has been an absolute lifesaver! When we had to cancel our dog sitters at the last minute due to our puppy showing early signs of being on heat, we were in a tight spot. The vet recommended maintaining a normal routine, so we urgently needed an in-house sitter. Thankfully, Jess came to the rescue, showing remarkable flexibility despite the short notice. From the moment our puppy met her, there was an instant connection. Despite it being our first time leaving her for an extended period, we felt completely at ease knowing Jess was taking care of her. Not only did she go above and beyond in caring for for our puppy but she even took the initiative to hoover the floors before we returned! We genuinely couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter. Without a doubt, we'll be rebooking Jess for future pet-sitting needs!”

“Sofiia was amazing with our two cats! I never like leaving them and she was more than happy to follow my list of instructions and sent me loads of updates so I know they were in great hands. They were really relaxed in her company, would definitely book again!”

About: I have experience from taking care of / growing up with German Shepards from ages 7-16. We also had cats and have since have experience cat sitting for friends. Currently a final year Architecture and planning student at Bristol - looking for opportunities to spend more time looking after dogs / cats, especially keeping them active and being responsive and responsible for their needs. Respectful of the owners space and an open communicator. I have just finished my degree and have full flexibility this summer whilst job - seeking. But in terms of my routine, as it's relatively flexible, I would be happy to adapt to the clients needs. Unfortunately as my tenant doesn't allow pets I would not be able to accept pets in my own home overnight. But in the clients home - it would be dependant on the dogs needs. I would be make sure they have long and active play sessions / walks and accommodate myself to make sure the clients dog feels comfortable. Understand how to build rapport and trust with all kinds of dogs.
About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life, whether it’s walks, cuddles, playtime, or sticking to their usual routine, I love making pets feel happy and at home. I’m especially obsessed with dogs (probably a little too much!) and will happily shower your furry family members with all the love and attention they deserve. This is my first time being paid for pet sitting so I don’t have any profesh experience. But have successfully looked after our pupper and other animals. Pet care fits naturally into my routine as i work for myself and run my own business from home. means I’m around throughout the day to provide plenty of attention, walks, playtime, and company. I’m a wedding photographer, and this means I’m busiest on weekends during the summer wedding season, but outside of that i have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets the time and care they deserve. Your pet will be treated like part of the family while they’re with me. My home is full of love, belly rubs, treats (when approved by you!), and plenty of attention. Most evenings you’ll find me curled up reading a book with a cat on her lap or a dog wedged firmly against her side, If I’m not at home watching movies, I’m usually out exploring a forest, beach, or nature trail and wondering whether I’d be allowed to bring every dog I meet home with me. I’ll always stick to your pet’s usual routine and make sure they feel safe, happy, and thoroughly spoiled. Regular photo updates are included, because let’s be honest, I’ll probably take hundreds anyway.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - South Gloucestershire
I don’t have a bad word to say about Georgia. She has looked after my 10-week-old retriever, Ralph, and made me feel completely at ease from day one. She’s helped with all of his basic training, including toilet training and building good habits around the house. It’s clear to see how happy, confident, and well-settled Ralph is because of the care, patience, and attention she’s given him. I couldn’t recommend Georgia highly enough to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring to look after their dog.

Bei Z was the perfect sitter for our Dog Riley. The communication with Bei prior to the sit was 1st class. The communication with Bei during our vacation again was 1st class. Daily pictures and videos reassured us that our dog was being well looked after. She also fed the fish and watered the plants which was most helpful. Bei Z was everything we were hoping for in a dog/house sitter. The house was well maintained during or holiday. We were so happy we have booked here again for our next holiday.

Eloise was brilliant. Our dog Gita can be a bit funny with new people and Eloise took the time in the months before to stop by and build a relationship with her, and from the pictures and updates we received looked like that really paid off, Eloise will have a friend for life with Gita. Will definitely use her again

Mike has looked after our Spaniel a few times now. She doesn't warm to men so easily, being a rescue and more of a girl's girl, but she loves Mike and always greets him enthusiastically even when she hasn't seen him for a while. He takes good care of her, sends us updates and we come back to a clean and tidy house. Thank you
Erin looked after our dogs, who had never been left with anyone before, so we were really worried about it, especially as one of our dogs is very anxious. Erin was absolutely amazing, and we feel so lucky to have found her. Both dogs took to her immediately and were calm, relaxed, and happy in her company, which gave us so much reassurance. We really appreciated everything Erin did for us and the wonderful way she cared for our dogs. She made us feel completely relaxed and happy leaving them in her care, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring.
Harriette was really great, she came round to meet our cat ahead of time, and sent us lots of updates while we were away - our cat is usually quite skittish, but from photos she looked really relaxed and comfortable hanging out with Harriette! We’ll be sure to book her again if we have any other trips planned :)

Angus was great with my dog Laika! Thanks so much 😊😊

Géorgie took great care of my dogs while I was away for five weeks. They were very happy and healthy and obviously well looked after when I returned. Georgie followed my written instructions brilliantly both with dogs and household things ie recycling and plant care. I was able to spend time with family in Australia knowing my dogs were in safe hands as she and her husband Kay had a couple of days looking after them the previous month. She kept me updated and informed and dealt with issues such as dog food deliveries, a power outage and blocked drains. She is very dependable. I would highly recommend Georgie to look after your pets and home while you’re away. She follows your instructions carefully and treats your pets as if they are her own. They have been looking out of the window a lot I think they’re missing her!! Thank you Georgie.

Katie made our dog feel comfortable from the first time she met him. It’s the first time we’ve left him and we also have our son’s cat staying with us. I felt confident leaving them both with Katie and they all seemed to have a lovely time together. Highly recommend, will definitely ask Katie to look after them again next year.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Gloucestershire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
