“Hannah and her whole family were absolutely brilliant with Ooli - we got loads of video updates and they clearly had a wonderful time. Would 100% recommend and I'm sure we'll be booking them again!”

“We’ve just come back from a 10 day stress-free holiday thanks to Melissa, who was amazing with our typically anxious dog, Bella. She arranged a meet up beforehand and sent daily updates throughout our trip, which really reassured me as I’m typically quite anxious about leaving Bella. Bella clearly loved staying with Melissa and her lovely children. I’d highly recommend her and will definitely book again.”

“Nicola looked after Roxy our Rottweiler for 2 weeks whilst we were away. She gave us regular updates/photos etc and reassured us she was fine. She really listened to everything we told her too. Shes finally back with us today and shes in her usual chair snoring away like nothing ever happened. I would use Nicola again and definitely recommend her to anyone thinking to book!”

“Simba had such a great time staying with Nina and her family! I really appreciate how well Nina took care of him; even though Simba is still a 10-month-old puppy with a lot of energy, she handled him perfectly. He came home happy and completely relaxed. I highly recommend Nina to anyone looking for a loving and attentive dog sitter.”

“My dog has such a great time at Kuanjira's place! She took him on great walks and swimming, which we were so grateful for after the heatwave. She sent a lot of updates throughout which was really appreciated. We won't hesitate to reach out to her if we need someone to look after Acorn again. ☺️”

“Lucy and her family took great care of our elderly Pug Pablo, she kept us updated (and entertained 😂) with daily photos and descriptions of his adventures while we were away on holiday. Would 100% recommend Lucy to anyone. Thanks again Lucy!”

“It's just the perfect family to leave your dog with. She's super kind, patient and experienced. Roo always comes back calm and like he's been really well looked after, had a good routine and lots of love. I highly recommend using Petra for long or short stays.”

“Aaron was brilliant with our Aster Bear. He had her for 8 nights whilst we were on holiday and she was very well looked after and came back very happy! I am always hesitant to leave her with anyone as she is a Romanian Rescue with unique characteristics, a large bread dog with allergies and, separation anxiety which were all very well managed by Aaron. We will be using Aaron again in the future!”

About: I’ve dog sat for dogs throughout my life and i had my own dog until recently. She has sadly now passed on and the house feel empty so I thought I would dog sit from my own home and help others enjoy their time away, knowing there beloved dog is in safe hands.🐶🐾 I will follow the schedule you set for me and will not divert from this to ensure your dog feels safe and secure. I have a front garden with grass and your dog will be on the lead while outside at all times. I will give your dog a toilet break immediately after you have dropped them off so they know where to go and then offer toilet breaks every two hours. Your dog will be safe in my home and on the lead when outside. I will offer your beloved fur baby a bathroom break every 2 hours. I have a large open plan downstairs space that your dog can play and explore in. I enjoy playtime with dogs and will give your dog lots of cuddles.

“Our little dog Aluna was very happy with Debbie for her first overnight stay. Debbie kindly collected her to make it easier for Aluna (so she wasn't distressed when I left her) and took her for a short walk to settle her down before playing with her at her home. Debbie is warm and welcoming and treats her guest dogs as her own. She is quick to respond to messages and to answer any questions we had. We will happily send Aluna to stay with her again. Thanks Debbie.”

“Natalie was absolutely lovely and we had total confidence in her from the outset. She came to meet Ted a few days before he stayed with her and took the trouble to get to know him She was always quick to respond, and kept us updated with photos throughout his stay. Ted clearly had a lovely time with her and even came home with some new toys! We highly recommend her.”

“Nova had the best time! Received lots of pictures/videos/updates throughout her stay which was lovely as it was my first time leaving her with a dogsitter. We will 100% be booking more stays. Thank you for looking after Nova like she was your own 💕”

“Jessica was absolutely brilliant with Rico. They provided daily pictures, took him out on lovely walks and it was clear he had great time with Jessica! Highly recommend her and will definitely leave Rico again on the next opportunity.”

“I was a little anxious leaving Enzo for the first time but Natalia was fabulous! He settled well and I'm sure he had wonderful time. Thank you so much! Will definitely be booking him in with you again 😁”

“Marie was helpful, flexible and responsive to messages. My dog settled well and when I picked her up was relaxed and happy. Photos sent during the week showed my dog enjoying the outdoors and settled with Marie and her family. I am confident my dog was well cared for and loved during her stay.”

“Samuel did a great job looking after Sprout for a week when we were away. He provided periodic updates, was responsive and Sprout seemed to have enjoyed her time with him! We would Def use him again in the future!”

Tansy’s third stay with Sarah and Mark; this time for a weekend. Sarah and Mark are very relaxed and this made Tansy feel calm and at home. We had been suffering from a heatwave and Sarah was keen to understand how Tansy coped with the heat and what they should do to ensure she was cool and comfortable which was really reassuring. I had messages keeping me updated with how Tansy had settled in, some photos and a short video of her enjoying a lovely walk. Tansy came home very happy and relaxed. I would happily book Sarah and Mark again and I am sure we will be seeing them in the future. Thank you both for taking care of Tansy.

My dog has such a great time at Kuanjira's place! She took him on great walks and swimming, which we were so grateful for after the heatwave. She sent a lot of updates throughout which was really appreciated. We won't hesitate to reach out to her if we need someone to look after Acorn again. ☺️

Our favourite Rover boarding ever. The week coincided with a spontaneous heatwave and honestly I couldn't have left Poppy in better hands than Melissa. Daily updates, photos, videos, I knew she was being well cared for and having a great holiday of her own. Melissa even kindly bought Poppy a replica toy of one she'd become very attached to - she will treasure Clyde the duck forever. We've stayed with many Rover sitters over the years, Melissa tops the list of ones we will book in with again. Thank you!

I would highly recommend Fabiana and would leave Olly with her again. She was fantastic with communication throughout his stay, sending regular updates and keeping me informed about how he was doing. She was also incredibly flexible and accommodating when my flight was delayed, which I really appreciated. It was clear that she took the time to get to know Olly's routine, including his walks, feeding schedule and general preferences. He came home well groomed, relaxed and clearly comfortable in her care. Most importantly, she genuinely seemed to enjoy having him. As an owner who tends to pay very close attention to every little detail of my dog's wellbeing, I felt reassured knowing he was with someone caring, reliable and conscientious. Thank you again for looking after him.

Arthur stayed for the second time now with Yuet and her mom and by how I found him he loved it and he loves Yuet! Yuet sent daily updates on how they were doing, which was what I needed and I felt comfortable that he was well looked after! I would choose Yuet to look after Arthur again in a blink of eye! Thank you very much Yuet!!! x

Tamara was absolutely wonderful with Parker, she was able to look after him at short notice and I felt 100% happy that he was being looking after incredibly well. We had loads of updates, photos and videos and she looked after him as if he were her own ( even after he stole her dinner one night ) we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tamara to anyone . Thanks again ! !

Aaron was brilliant and would highly recommend ⭐️ He provided regular updates and photos whilst we were away to give us peace of mind and he also gave Norman a great holiday 🐾 it was a particularly tricky week with the scorching heat but Aaron managed this well with dawn and dusk walks and cooling river dips 😂 Norman had come back happy and content. Thankyou 👍🏻

Simba had such a great time staying with Nina and her family! I really appreciate how well Nina took care of him; even though Simba is still a 10-month-old puppy with a lot of energy, she handled him perfectly. He came home happy and completely relaxed. I highly recommend Nina to anyone looking for a loving and attentive dog sitter.

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
