“Hannah is an excellent sitter, who sends photos and videos which dispels any concern about how your pet is doing. I really trust her to care for my dog well, and I can’t give a better recommendation than that!”

“Mel is an absolutely incredible dog sitter, she gave my little dog such a lovely time I was worried she wasn’t going to want to come home! Mel took her on plenty of lovely walks, lots of cuddles and affection which my dog laps up! I was a bit worried leaving my dog as she’s not very good with kids, but Mel was super understanding and handled Darcies behaviour really well. I would highly recommend Mel, she will take very good care of your pet. Thank you Mel for spoiling Darcie whilst we were away!”

“Nicola was absolutely amazing looking after my dog, Billy - he had the best time ever! She kept me regularly updated with lovely pictures, which was so reassuring and showed just how happy and well cared for he was. I could tell he was in great hands from start to finish. I would 100% recommend Nicola to any other dog parents and wouldn’t hesitate to book her again.”

“This was Tansy’s second overnight stay and she was excited to see Mark on arrival. She seemed very chilled and relaxed which was great to know as she can be a little anxious. We have another stay booked soon.”

“Simba had such a great time staying with Nina and her family! I really appreciate how well Nina took care of him; even though Simba is still a 10-month-old puppy with a lot of energy, she handled him perfectly. He came home happy and completely relaxed. I highly recommend Nina to anyone looking for a loving and attentive dog sitter.”

About: I've always had dogs in my life growing up and then when I had my own children I had to have a family dog too. I had my own working cocker spaniel for 13 years who has sadly crossed the rainbow bridge recently leaving a big void in our home. I would love to you with the care of your dog when needed and enjoy having the company of dogs again in our home. I work from home several days a week which will reflect in my availability I am hoping to build my availability over time as I build my online business combining my two passions of counselling services and caring for animals. I have a large fenced safe garden and access to several playing fields locally. Having owned my own dog for 13 years until recently I am well equipped at home to take care of others. Happy for dogs in any space of my home, cuddles on the sofa? Absolutely! Especially after a lovely walk in nature!

“Lucy was absolutely brilliant with Milo. I had daily messages as ro how he was behavingand getting on, which was very reassuring. .I would definately arrange to rebook with Lucy with absolute cinfidence”

“My girls had such a lovely time with Kaunjira. She sent me regular photos and videos and it's safe to say they were treated very well in her care. I would certainly recommend her to other dog parents out there 💕”

“Jessica was absolutely brilliant with Rico. They provided daily pictures, took him out on lovely walks and it was clear he had great time with Jessica! Highly recommend her and will definitely leave Rico again on the next opportunity.”

“Tamara is wonderful!! Chestnut & Dinky we’re so happy with her whilst we were away. We received video and photos from Tamara almost daily. The dogs enjoyed the love they received from her and her partner, enjoying long walks and lots of cuddles. Will definitely be using Tamara again!!! Thank you Tamara ??”

“Petra was very communicative and easy to schedule our drop off and pick up. Even when our plans had to change due to a cancelled event Petra was happy to change the time without fuss. The house and garden were perfect for Maggi to run around with and she had clearly had a great time as she was tired but not over tired!”

“Found Sam, as needed some last minute dog sitting (change of our plans). Welcoming, Good Comms and Dogs were well settled. Very nice couple - happy to leave our dogs with them any time. Thank you.”
“Natalie was absolutely lovely and we had total confidence in her from the outset. She came to meet Ted a few days before he stayed with her and took the trouble to get to know him She was always quick to respond, and kept us updated with photos throughout his stay. Ted clearly had a lovely time with her and even came home with some new toys! We highly recommend her.”

“María and her wonderful family have taken such good care of our little sausage, photos and updates throughout the days that we were away offered such reassurance, she was flexible with timings around pick up and drop off, honestly I couldn’t ask for a better dog sitter, I highly recommend her and her lovely partner and their wonderful children to take care of your beloved dog x”

“Lily took great care of Blossom and was very communicative with daily updates, walks and photos. Her dog Willow despite being 4x the size of Blossom was very friendly and they played together. Her charges were also reasonable compared to other sitters in Bristol. Would definitely be using Lily again.”

“Jack and Amy looked after my poodle for a week while I was away. I returned to find a happy dog who had clearly been looked after well. They communicated clearly about what I needed to bring for my dog's stay, and used good sense (if only everyone had good sense!) with normal minor issues that arose. And they let me sit on their kitchen floor so Mr Dog and I could have a good bouncy snuggle when we were reunited. :)”

“Used Tereza for a few weeks now and she and her partner have both been lovely and Ted seems to be enjoying his stays. Will continue to leave him with them when they are available”

“Deborah was amazing with Jessie. She really put my mind at ease whilst I was out of the country knowing she was in good hands. Will definitely book with her again in the future.”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - South Gloucestershire
Victoria has taken great care of Oli and has been a fantastic sitter throughout. Communications with her were clear and punctual and I'm particularly thankful that she kept us updated daily on Oli's behaviour and wellbeing. Really happy with Victoria and I cannot recommend her enough!

Kuanjira was amazing! constant updates with photos and videos. Very flexible with drop off and pick up times. My Frenchie, Rocky, enjoyed staying and playing with Kuanjira Frenchie Dobby. Rocky was taken on plenty of walks and was given a nice bath. I would definitely use Kuanjira again and would definitely recommend her to my friends and family. Thank you for looking after Rocky!

Giorgia provided great care for our dog Luca - treating him as one of the family with trips out for walks, the allotment and pub while we enjoyed our own weekend away. She shared lots of photos and videos so we could enjoy what he’d been up to and was warm and welcoming when we dropped off and picked up. Thank you for looking after him with such obvious interest and affection.

Could not recommend Elliot enough to anyone who wants their dog look after by someone who cares for them the same way we would. Five stars is not enough. Our dog was so happy staying with Elliot. The regular updates were so reassuring knowing that he was being so well looked after. Thanks again for everything. Will recommend you to every. Elliot will be the only person i will now book with.

Cannot speak highly enough of Beth and the care they provided Nyssa. She had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to use them again. Nyssa clearly was taken by them which is a testament to how muxh love and care they gave her. Could not be happier with the experience. Thank you both once more.

Welly had such a lovely weekend with Emma and her dog Henry! Emma was brilliant at communicating and very flexible from arranging a meet and greet to lots of fantastic updates over the weekend. Welly was so happy with lots of lovely walks :) I can’t recommend Emma enough! 10/10!

Tansy’s third stay with Sarah and Mark; this time for a weekend. Sarah and Mark are very relaxed and this made Tansy feel calm and at home. We had been suffering from a heatwave and Sarah was keen to understand how Tansy coped with the heat and what they should do to ensure she was cool and comfortable which was really reassuring. I had messages keeping me updated with how Tansy had settled in, some photos and a short video of her enjoying a lovely walk. Tansy came home very happy and relaxed. I would happily book Sarah and Mark again and I am sure we will be seeing them in the future. Thank you both for taking care of Tansy.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
