Pet care experience

Hassle free care by 2 animal lovers

Happily will meet you in advance to get to know you and your dog to make sure you’re comfortable for me to look after them. My partner and I both work hybrid with flexibility for work from home Wednesday - Friday. If I have to go into the office, my Partner will be at home to look after and walk your dog. We have a garden that’s secure as well. About me? I've been around animals (both dog and cats) my whole life and my parent currently has a 5 year old border collie. I mentally stimulate our dog by playing with him, using his brain with the classic “find it” game, whilst physically stimulating through walks (runs for him) and lots of stick throwing! We had 2 dogs growing up that sadly passed away, one of which was a rescue dog and so I understand how you may need to act differently to make the dog feel comfortable. Ive also got experience with reactive dogs. I understand that there may be triggers so we’d discuss in advance what those triggers may be to ensure any reactions are properly managed for safety of your pet plus anyone or anything nearby. I’ve looked after many dogs ad-hoc including Manchester terriers, beagles and Schnoodles. For these occasions, I’ve stayed at the owners house and kept the house respectable. All of which felt easy in comparison to looking after a border collie! By the end of the day, the dogs are often asleep on my lap (or I sit on the floor with them if the owner doesn’t want their pet to be on furniture!), fed and happy.

Sara took good care of Phoebe for an overnight stay. We got a couple of photos and updates to hear that she was settled. Quick communication and great sitter. Thank you!

Sara is the first dog sitter I've had and I'm super grateful for her help. Both pooches were happy and healthy while I was away, and pictures provided of happy pups on walks etc. All in all, fantastic job! :D

Drop-In Visits • Aug 10, 2025

Sara was lovely, she was flexible with timings and was happy to send me loads of photos and videos of the cats. I came back from my holiday to 3 very relaxed cats who hardly seemed bothered by my absence, which was very reassuring. Would definitely recommend 😁

Sara was a wonderful sitter for Frodo that listened and responded to the specific care he needs as a reactive dog - she even took time out of her day ahead of the booking to come and observe his routine and join me on a quick walk. Communicative, diligent, and polite, Sara is a wonderful person and I will happily book her again. She provided pics of Fro when I was away, and the dog seemed very happy when I returned home. Can't recommend enough!

What a lovely lady and Dougie absolutely loved his stay with Sara. Sara settled Doug in for their evening together, and listened to how he liked his dinner and how to distract him from other dogs whilst walking. We used Sara whilst going out for a family meal on our visit to Bristol, I would highly recommend and would certainly use again. Thank you Sara xx ❤️

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has no pets
No children present
Dogs not allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 2-4 hours

Safety, trust & environment

We have a secure garden and live very close to a shaded woodland area (Oldbury Court area). If the pet is a bit shy, I would be more cautious and go down to their level to try to bond with it. I speak to the owner to understand do’s and dont’s. And I’d use treats when best placed to celebrate positive experiences and train the dog to have good connotations with certain actions or moments. The main thing about looking after someone’s pet is that you don’t want to confuse the animal. So I would take it on walks when the owner recommends and use the lead in environments that require it (e.g. roads, if they struggle around other dogs).

A typical day

A day could be action packed or chilled in front of the sofa. If your pet needs lots of stimulus then we can play, go to the park and I have a lacrosse stick to throw the ball especially far!
