About: I’m a student nurse who’s experienced in taking care of both people and pets. I have experience in looking after cats - I’ve lived with them since I was born. I have also lived with dogs that I have enjoyed helping take care of when they needed ( or when I’ve just needed a bit of company!) I am currently on holiday! In term time in a student paediatric nurse :) I’m just looking for something fun and bit different to do whilst I’m off. I’m really happy to chill at the pets house or take them for long walks! I will not be able to provide services at my home
“I’m always nervous leaving our cat when we go away but with Carol looking after him and keeping us updated I didn’t worry once. She genuinely cares and enjoyed spending time with Georgie - I didn’t feel like he was being left alone for a week.”

About: I've taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 10. My grandparents have 2 labradoodles and 1 westie who I have walked, fed, bathed and loved many times. I've grown up with 2 old English sheepdogs who I have loved and cared for, for 11 years. My fiance also had a cockapoo who I cared for and took on many walks. I'm going to be available over half terms and summer holidays as I am a full time teacher. During those periods I will be free all day every day to pay attention to any needs that your pet may have. I'm happy to make your pet as comfortable as they need in their home as well as meeting all of their needs. I am happy to crate them at night or just leave them to roam. I have lots of walks nearby so I can walk them at any point of the day. Also I'm happy to bathe and brush any dogs too.
“Rosie is a great sitter and a safe pair of hands. She helped me looking after Rudi in a difficult time and with very short notice. I'm grateful for her help and would recommend her to anybody needing high quality and attentive pet care. Thank you so much Rosie.”

“It was great to have Georgia do two drop ins on Henny. She sent photos and videos and left notes of what they got up to. She also came beforehand for a meet and greet which was so helpful as it was my first experience with Rover”

“Hilary was amazing and Candy knew she was in safe hands straight away. We were in London for the day and I felt at ease knowing that Candy would be Hilarys priority. I cannot recommend Hilary enough for peace of mind and for the greatest care of your pets.”

About: I’ve always loved and taken care of cats since a little girl, lots of experience with them. I have experience with dogs too, more so in recent years. I have had cats all of my life, and a dog of my own for the last 6 years. New to pet sitting outside of friends and family. I work part time from home with a very flexible schedule so visiting your babies will be easy! I will work around my drop-in visits. Both cats and dogs deserve lots of attention, cuddles and enrichment as well as their basic needs like food, water, clean litter tray etc. I will do everything I can to provide your pet with everything it needs! A drop in visit will last 30 minutes, unless upgraded to the 60 minute option. My preference is one visit per day, but I can do up to 3 visits for an additional price.

About: I know the feeling of trying to find the right person to look after my pet, which is why I’m here to provide you with the reassurance that your pet will be as well cared for as my own! I rescued my cat Pippa at 3 weeks old, and we’ve been joint at the hip ever since! I’ve always owned cats and small animals, and I’ve also spent lots of time caring for dogs, too. I work from home so my schedule is flexible. I have experience with many breeds including (but not limited to) Golden Retriever, Collie, Irish Setter, Dalmatian, Cairn Terrier, Burnese mountain dog, French Bulldog, Dachshund, Cocker Spaniel, Maltese, Cockapoo, Lurcher, Pug, Pointer and more. Please get in touch for more info, I’d be happy to help! I have recently left my role as a Midwife and I am now a mortgage advisor working at home during weekdays. I provide morning, lunchtime and/or afternoon walks. I only offer drop in visits as I own a cat. When I am in your home, I am calm and approachable as to not excite the pet too much! But we can still play and have cuddles :)
About: I’ve loved and cared for animals all my life, from growing up with dogs to helping at an emergency rescue centre (and of course adopting some waifs and strays along the way !) to fostering kittens and puppies and rehoming elderly, anxious and sick cats and dogs . My sister is a vet, so medical expertise is a phone call away. Your pet will be like a member of our family for the time we care for them. I don’t have any pets of my own currently. I work part-time during the week remotely from home around dropping off and picking up my children from school so I’m at home to care and keep your pet company and go out walking locally . I have lots of room for pets in my 3 bed terraced home and a good-sized lawned fenced garden. I live a short walk from Oldbury Court Estate which is ideal for dog walks, including lots of space for the energetic and quieter areas for the more nervous of disposition . My children adore animals and will also sensitively lavish your pet with affection and play for those who want it . If your dog has not stayed with a sitter before, is nervous or experiences separation anxiety , we may need to arrange additional settling in sessions prior to the booking so we can all be sure your dog will feel happy and settled here for the duration of their stay.

About: Hi! I'm a reliable, caring animal lover with plenty of experience looking after both dogs and cats, I have a dog and cat at home. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, and I'm happy to tailor my care to make them feel safe, happy, and comfortable. Because I have a dog at home who is reactive around other dogs, I'm unable to host dogs in my own house. However, I'm available for drop-in visits, dog walking, and house sitting in your home, where your pets can stay relaxed in their familiar environment. I'm also happy to care for cats in your home. I have lots of experience with anxious dogs as I have one myself. Whether it's playtime, walks, feeding, medication, cuddles, or simply keeping your pets company while you're away, I'll treat them with the same care and attention I'd want for my own. I'll also keep you updated with regular messages and photos, so you can relax knowing your pets are in good hands. I will be around all day to walk your dog and help them with their daily routine, I can walk them around a schedule that suits the dog. I believe the best pet care starts with following each pet's normal routine as closely as possible. Before every booking, I like to learn about their feeding schedule, exercise needs, favourite activities, any medications, and anything that helps them feel comfortable. I will follow any guidance on how to look after your pets and use common sense at all times. For house sitting, I'll care for your pets in the comfort of their own home, helping to keep their routine consistent while you're away. I'll also take care of basic household tasks such as bringing in post, watering plants, and keeping your home tidy if requested.

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - South Gloucestershire
Really happy with the cat sitting service. This was the second time I’ve used Lauren, and once again she was reliable, followed everything exactly as instructed, and kept me updated with regular messages and photos. I especially love that she makes sure the cats get to stretch their legs and enjoy some time in the garden. It’s reassuring knowing they’re well looked after while I’m away. Would definitely recommend and use her again! 🐾❤️

Really happy with the cat sit we’ve just had from Laura! Our cat Bella is super shy and anxious with new people, and Laura was really lovely and gentle with her on the meet and greet, and even though she spent both visits hiding and not really interacting, Laura was able to initiate some play with her and leave her some treats 🥰 she seemed relaxed in the photos which is a great start and I’m sure she’ll definitely be able to win her over with a few more visits! So thank you so much Laura, we really appreciate your patience and we’ll look forward to seeing the progress over any future visits! Xx

My cat doesn't really like anyone but she loved Imogen. It was a surprise actually. I was so pleased to see the pictures Imogen sent of the two of them hanging out on the sofa together. Imogen also managed to administer Bennies meds easily which again was such a relief. I am so pleased that I have booked another drop in in August. Thanks Imogen.

Carol is absolutely fabulous. She looked after Georgie for a week during which time we had issues with our house and Georgie managed to get a cut on his face. She handled it all brilliantly which meant we could still enjoy our holiday without having to worry at all. Couldn’t recommend Carol more!

Meg was a pleasure and looked after my kitties really well. I could tell she really cares for cats, which was the most important thing for me, and I felt really confident leaving them in her capable hands. She communicated really well, and quickly got back to me, sent pics and updates. I liked that she was down to earth and was very patient with me throughout. As a first time user of the site, and I'd had a really busy and stressful time before going away, this meant so much to me. They were as happy as Larry when I got back, which was brilliant- thanks Meg. Highly recommended.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
