Tamara was very friendly and welcoming. Milo had a lovely day and Tamara kept us updated with photos. We really appreciated that Tamara invited us around before hand to chat, which put us at ease with leaving our dog with her. Will definitely be using Tamara again in the future.

My two dogs are quite nervous and I needed some last minute cover just for the day whilst I was at work. Charis was really friendly and the home seemed a nice and chilled environment. I was updated with photos throughout the day and when I picked the girls up they seemed very relaxed and happy! Will definitely use Charis again! Thank you 😁

Tom and Sabrina were brilliant. Our lovely lab was returned to us calm and content. They shared photos throughout the day and it is testament to their high levels of experience with dogs, that our timid and slightly wary pup was completely at ease with them. The added bonus of them also being a delight to engage with from a human perspective! Highly recommend. We hope to use them a lot more in the future.

About: Hi, I'm Kerry! I share my home with my family, and a Cocker Spaniel called Bran. I've had dogs for over 10 years and genuinely love their company. Since bringing Bran home, I've spent a lot of time learning about the needs of active and busy breeds. I understand the importance of both physical exercise and mental stimulation and, I enjoy incorporating training, enrichment and sniffy walks into my dog's day. I'm home throughout the day so your dog would have lots of company and I can offer flexible walks and drop in visits that suit your dogs schedule. Most importantly, I'll care for your dog as I would my own and keep you updated with photos and messages while they're with me. Your dog would be treated like part of our family. I have a flexible schedule and will be home throughout most of the day. My husband works from home, so if I pop out, there will still be someone around to give your dog plenty of attention and care. I am able to offer two walks a day and your dog would never be left alone for long periods of time. I can offer walks and drop ins througout the week. If your dog needs a lunchtime walk, some company while you're out and a toilet break, I'm happy to help! I have a secure garden with plenty of space so your dog can safely enjoy outdoor time. For any dogs staying with us it's important they're comfortable with family life and happy to spend time with my dog. Like most spaniels, he's sociable and enjoys play when meeting new dogs, but settles well afterwards. That said, I also have enough space to provide separate, quiet time. Meet and greets are always welcome to make sure it's a good fit for everyone. For drop ins and walks, I'll fit in with your dog's usual routine as much as possible and keep you updated with photos and messages along the way.

About: I have had pets since I was a child, dogs, birds, rabbit and even looked after our neighbour's ducks when they went on holiday. We often look after Anna, our friend's dog when they go away, and Anna loves staying with us. Going for plenty of works and sometimes even joins to watch my son's football matches. I work from home twice a week with flexible working hours and we are home most weekends. I love going for daily walks and being outside, and pet will have the best time joining me on my works with regular water breaks. I have a fenced garden and no other pets, so your doggo is safe with our full attention. We also have a lovely field across our house with plenty to sniff about.

About: I had two Shih Tzu’s growing up when I was growing up. As soon as I bought my house, I bought myself a Staffordshire bull terrier. She is called Lola. She is the friendliest dog in the world and would love some extra company. I’ve trained all the dogs to sit, stay and paw. I enjoy walking Lola for at least an hour a day as well! I’m currently working from home so I only really leave in the morning around 6 am to go to the gym and then I take Lola for a walk afterwards and at lunchtime. My job is very flexible. I have a fenced garden, which is very secure. I’m very good with energetic dogs and also the sleepier ones! I am dog mad and I will treat your fur baby like my own

About: Caring for animals has always come naturally to me. For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt a strong connection to them and a real sense of comfort being surrounded by their energy and companionship. I grew up with dogs, cats, and many other animals, and caring for them has always been a big part of my life. Over the years, friends, family, and neighbours often trusted me to look after their beloved pets as well. My closest companion was a little Maltese who stayed by my side for 16 wonderful years, until she sadly passed away in December 2022. After that loss, many people continued reaching out to me for help with their pets, and that’s how this new chapter began. The space left by my lifelong companion slowly opened the door to many new furry friendships. Alongside my experience with animals, I also have extensive training in caring for people and children, as well as a Master’s Degree in Psychology. While caring for animals is of course unique in its own way, many of the same qualities apply: patience, empathy, attention, and understanding. I truly care for every pet as if they were my own, and I understand how important it is for owners to feel their animals are safe, loved, and well looked after. If your dog will spend the time with me, I'll dedicate complete attention to your little friend based on his/her needs and his/her routine full time. :) ABOUT THE BOOKING: I need two weeks notice for more than 1night, couple of days for day care and once in contact I always schedule for a first meeting. The meeting is about 15/20 minutes outside or inside my flat if we both feel comfortable with. It is free, so no charge for it. Please be aware that there is NO OBLIGATION to accept your booking after the meeting. This is why the meeting was created for. I accept booking no more than 1 month in advance, no more than 5 days in a row. I can make exception for small and very calm, relaxed dogs or dogs that have already stayed in my flat and don't require too much energy. Please remember that I take care of one pet at a time so you will have a better chance of having the days you are looking for if you confirm before the others. This is why the first meeting is important, it allows you to have priority. When create your dog's profile, remember to add photos and all the required information. As a sitter I also decide and need the information you share with me! If you have more than one pet, Rover needs one separate profile for each one of them. Please be honest and clear about your dog HEALTH. Please note that I am unable to take responsibility for your dog’s health during your holiday if there are any existing or uncertain health concerns. Before boarding check with VET if: - Diet is correct and that there is no risk of loose stools and upset stomach. - The dog scratch, bite their skin or showing any signs of discomfort. Please maintain hight level of HYGIENE. - Make sure your dog is clean and free from fleas or ticks before the booking. - Treat the dog with appropriate medications (spray, drops or collar) specially during ticks season (April - October) In case your pet spends one or more nights in my flat, I request a text message (email or a paper) with all the dog routine INFORMATION, contact details, equipment list, food, medication and so on. I also offer daily PHOTOS and VIDEOS. You can monitor the state of happiness of your pet while is away from you. :D I simply care for your pet the same way I’d hope someone would care for mine. I know leaving your pet with someone else can feel stressful, so I’ll do everything I can to make the experience as comfortable and reassuring as possible for both you and your pet! VERY IMPORTANT: Please be kind when you request a booking and during a meeting. I offer my home and my personal space that I share with another person. Is my home therefore I DO NOT TOLLERATE any rude, destructive, offensive behaviour. I also do not tolerate any inappropriate, noisy, intruding comments or questions about my personal life. Please be respectful because I will be respectful with you. Let's maintain a friendly and polite conversation. :) I am here to offer a service and there is no reason why I should feel uncomfortable in my own home. Unfortunately this has happened in the past and I wish it didn't happen again. ABOUT DOGS AND SIZES: What if you have two dogs? I can make an exception following this criteria for a House Sitting in mine: - if the dogs are from the same owner; - if they have training or good behaviour indoors and no problem with furniture and plants; - if they are calm and relaxed; - if they weight no more than 10kg; - if they are used to not too large spaces; - if the booking is no more than 1 nights; In your House? - if they are calm and relaxed; - Drop in visit only. Again, you need to have 2 profiles for each one of them. About large dog in mine: - If they are calm and relaxed; - if they are used to not too large space; - if they have training or good behaviour indoors and no problem with furniture, plants and people; - if they weight no more than 23kg even if the large dog in Rover is considered between 18-45kg. - if the booking is for a Day Care only. I am not offering House Sitting overnight in yours at the moment, Drop in visit only. For space and personal reasons I do not take care of the following breeds: - Pit Bull Terrier. - Japanese Tosa. - Dogo Argentino. - Fila Brasileiro. - Staffordshire Bull Terrier. - Rottweiler. - German Shepherd. ABOUT THE AREA: Mine is a small flat surrounded by greenery and parks in the Frenchay area. Snuff Mills is a 10 minute walk from here!

About: Do you have a furry friend who needs some company during the day? I have worked as a freelance sitter on and off for the past ten years for a small group of clients, and am now looking to expand my customer base. I have a sweet lurcher, called Lenny, who loves to play. He is good at matching other dogs’ energy, and very sociable! I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes (Fromm Maltese to Mastiffs!) and am knowledgable about dog behaviour and body language. I work flexible hours during the week and work from home, so I can provide continuous care for your dog. Doggy day care includes one walk at midday, usually around 1hr but this can be tailored to your pet. My garden is fully fenced, mainly with 6ft fencing. There are a couple of spots that are 5ft tall, so let me know if your pup is an escape artist! For dog walking, all new dogs will be exercised on lead unless in a safely fenced location. Even dogs with great recall can sometimes have selective hearing with new people! For recurring bookings, we can discuss the safest way for your dog to be off lead if this is something you’d like. I typically provide 3 updates a day, so you can rest assured that your dog is in safe hands.

About: I’ve had dogs for over 10 years and genuinely love having them around. I’m especially experienced with calm, friendly dogs who enjoy a relaxed home environment and plenty of attention. I work from home, so your dog would have lots of company and would never be left alone for more than a couple of hours. My home is calm, structured, and caring — ideal for dogs who settle well and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. I’m used to daily walks, feeding routines, and tuning into each dog’s individual needs. I’m confident supporting good behaviour, gentle boundaries, and helping dogs feel safe and settled. Your dog would be treated like part of the family and cared for just as I care for my own. I work from home, so I’m around all day and able to give your dog plenty of attention, company, and care. Dogs would never be left alone for more than 2 hours at a time. I’m able to offer two walks per day, along with a consistent routine, playtime, and lots of affection. I’m flexible and available for boarding throughout the week and weekends. I have a secure, fully fenced garden, so your dog can safely enjoy outdoor time. My home is calm, structured, and set up to help dogs feel relaxed and settled. Our cockapoo Mabel is very friendly and enjoys the company of other dogs. That said, I also have space to keep dogs separate within the home if needed, so I can accommodate different needs and ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe.

About: I currently have a dog who is a 5 year old labradoodle. I have looked after her since she was a puppy meaning I am experienced in training whether that is for puppies or older dogs. I take her for walks twice daily so I understand their needs and schedules. I am a complete dog lover and I’m currently at uni so I miss being around dogs! I am currently not working and at uni so I will be available all days of the week at any time for the most part. This means I will be able to easily go along with your dogs schedule to allow them to be the most relaxed as well as make sure to send regular updates! I make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for whether they are in my home or their owner’s home. I keep the environment clean and calm, and I always supervise pets to ensure their safety. I also make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and affection so they feel happy and secure. About: Hi, I'm Aaron and I'm pleased to offer dog sitting services.

Although I have none of my own, I've been fortunate to live with dogs and cats in a variety of situations and locations. I've also fostered cats for a local charity. I enjoy bonding with all kinds of animals and I've exercised horses and cared for ducks and chickens.

I've house/pet-sat for friends and strangers who've become friends. I have a terraced house in Staple Hill (BS16) with an enclosed high-fenced garden. I'm a few minutes walk from Page Park but also enjoy walks around nearby Overscourt Woods and (disused) Shortwood Golf Course and surrounding fields. I have a spacious estate car that can cater for muddy and excitable pups!

I work very flexibly from home and so whilst with me in the house your pet will have as much attention or calm as it needs.

Thank you for reading my profile! If you think I could be of assistance please get in touch any time.

 Kind regards,

It was our first time leaving Rosie with a dog sitter but Madeleine and Jake took great care of her and put us at ease. Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 1,726 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in South Gloucestershire. About 86% of South Gloucestershire sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your South Gloucestershire commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
