Hi, I’m Mel. As a lifelong animal lover, I’ve always shared my home with dogs and cats. After saying goodbye to my cherished 17-year-old cat and with my children now grown into teenagers, I have more time to dedicate to something I truly enjoy caring for animals. Pets have always brought so much happiness to my life, and I’d love the opportunity to give your furry family members the same love, care, and attention that I would give my own. I understand how important it is to find the right person to care for your furry family member. My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and home-from-home environment where your dog feels happy, comfortable, and cared for. I work from home with flexible hours, which means your dog will receive plenty of one-to-one attention, affection, and cuddles throughout the day. This also makes me a great fit for dogs who may struggle with separation anxiety and enjoy having company. I love being outdoors and going on walks, so active dogs are always welcome! I will do my best to maintain your dog's usual routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, grooming, and any other habits or preferences that help them feel settled and secure. I know that staying in a new home can be a big adjustment for some dogs, so I aim to create an environment where they can relax and feel at ease. Mel clearly has a genuine love for and natural affinity with dogs . Harley can get quite anxious when I leave him but he was immediately at ease with Mel and she couldn't have been more attentive. Regular updates photos and videos throughout. After his first visit he was in no rush to leave! I would feel totally comfortable leaving Harley with Mel again knowing he will be spoilt and well looked after. Would highly recommend
Melissa has been absolutely amazing with my dog! This is already the second time she has looked after her, and my little one is always so happy to stay with her. Melissa treats her like a princess, is incredibly attentive, and always keeps me updated with lots of photos and messages. It’s so lovely to see how much of a great time my dog has with her and how well cared for she is. I 100% recommend Melissa and will definitely use her again whenever I can! ❤️
Another enjoyable visit for Huggi with Mel. As usual kept updated with videos and photos aplenty, which helps put your mind at rest. Huggi is really treated like a queen while she’s with Mel and I have no hesitation in recommending.

Our favourite Rover boarding ever. The week coincided with a spontaneous heatwave and honestly I couldn't have left Poppy in better hands than Melissa. Daily updates, photos, videos, I knew she was being well cared for and having a great holiday of her own. Melissa even kindly bought Poppy a replica toy of one she'd become very attached to - she will treasure Clyde the duck forever. We've stayed with many Rover sitters over the years, Melissa tops the list of ones we will book in with again. Thank you!

Schedule
As a part-time accountant working from home, I have the flexibility to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day and am also available at weekends. I can provide up to two walks per day, have a secure, fully enclosed garden for toilet breaks and outdoor time, and love spending quality time with animals, whether that’s playing, relaxing, or giving them lots of cuddles and affection.

I treat every dog in my care as if they were part of my own family. They are welcome throughout the house and, if they're used to it at home, they're more than welcome to join me on the sofa for cuddles and even sleep on the bed. To ensure every dog receives plenty of individual attention, I only care for one dog at a time (or two from the same household). This allows me to provide a calm, loving environment and focus fully on their needs. I understand that being away from their owners can sometimes be unsettling for pets, so I make it my priority to give them lots of companionship, affection, and reassurance. Working from home means I can devote plenty of time and attention to your dog, helping them feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away.
A typical day
I live around lots of parks and woodland pathways and have time to offer two long walks per day if your dog enjoys walking, I also can play games in the garden where they can run freely. I have a large selection of toys for your doggy to pick their favourites
