As a part-time accountant working from home, I have the flexibility to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day and am also available at weekends. I can provide up to two walks per day, have a secure, fully enclosed garden for toilet breaks and outdoor time, and love spending quality time with animals, whether that’s playing, relaxing, or giving them lots of cuddles and affection.

I treat every dog in my care as if they were part of my own family. They are welcome throughout the house and, if they're used to it at home, they're more than welcome to join me on the sofa for cuddles and even sleep on the bed. To ensure every dog receives plenty of individual attention, I only care for one dog at a time (or two from the same household). This allows me to provide a calm, loving environment and focus fully on their needs. I understand that being away from their owners can sometimes be unsettling for pets, so I make it my priority to give them lots of companionship, affection, and reassurance. Working from home means I can devote plenty of time and attention to your dog, helping them feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away.

I love how every dog has their own personality, please let me know anything I can do to make your dogs stay with me as enjoyably as possible. Please make clear any allergies and anything that may make your dog stressed. I host boarding for small and medium dogs only, unfortunately I’m choosing not to host large dogs as I don’t feel my house/garden are big enough
A typical day
I live around lots of parks and woodland pathways and have time to offer two long walks per day if your dog enjoys walking, I also can play games in the garden where they can run freely. I have a large selection of toys for your doggy to pick their favourites

After saying goodbye to my cherished 17-year-old cat and with my children now grown into teenagers, I have more time to dedicate to something I truly enjoy caring for animals. Pets have always brought so much happiness to my life, and I’d love the opportunity to give your furry family members the same love, care, and attention that I would give my own. I understand how important it is to find the right person to care for your furry family member. My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and home-from-home environment where your dog feels happy, comfortable, and cared for. I work from home with flexible hours, which means your dog will receive plenty of one-to-one attention, affection, and cuddles throughout the day. This also makes me a great fit for dogs who may struggle with separation anxiety and enjoy having company. I love being outdoors and going on walks, so active dogs are always welcome! I will do my best to maintain your dog's usual routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, grooming, and any other habits or preferences that help them feel settled and secure. I know that staying in a new home can be a big adjustment for some dogs, so I aim to create an environment where they can relax and feel at ease. Melissa was great with our energetic one-year-old Goldendoodle, Schopenhauer. It was his first time staying with a sitter and we were a bit worried about how he'd settle, but Mel gave him loads of attention and some lovely long walks and kept us updated throughout his overnight stay. We will definitely ask Mel to look after him again!
We’ve just come back from a 10 day stress-free holiday thanks to Melissa, who was amazing with our typically anxious dog, Bella. She arranged a meet up beforehand and sent daily updates throughout our trip, which really reassured me as I’m typically quite anxious about leaving Bella. Bella clearly loved staying with Melissa and her lovely children. I’d highly recommend her and will definitely book again.
Mel is an absolutely brilliant sitter she gives plenty of updates through pictures and videos so you feel like you know what your dog is up to at all times. This is the first time I’ve left my dog with anyone else in 14 years and I wouldn’t hesitate to leave her with Mel again. She had plenty of cuddles, walks and treats and was made a real fuss of. She loved her basket of toys and the football. Would throughly recommend.
