About: **Please note, as of November we are delighted to be welcoming our own Hungarian Vizsla. He will be 5 months from then and we are conducting extensive training to ensure he is as social as possible. Please factor this in when requesting from then on :) My wife and I adore dogs (any animals really!) We help our family and friends regularly with dog sitting or walks. We have recently moved into our home which has a large, safe and secure garden. Our home has plenty of fields/parks nearby or quieter side streets to suit your dog’s needs and preferences whilst out on walks. We can provide your dog with love and affection all day as we both work from home so there is no need to leave your family pet alone. We would love to help where we can! My wife Lauren and I work solely from home so we are always around. We are in our early 30’s so have plenty of energy to give your pet. Our home is safe and secure with a big garden. We are both active so walks will be no problem, whatever breed you have and the needs they require, we will ensure we meet them. We have a lot of love to give. We have a fully fenced garden with plenty of grass for them to run around. We have a spare bedroom to make your pet feel at home, or if they need to be kept in a crate overnight and would prefer being downstairs, that’s not a problem either as we have plenty of downstairs space. We can be adaptable to your pets needs.

About: I’m a student nurse who’s experienced in taking care of both people and pets. I have experience in looking after cats - I’ve lived with them since I was born. I have also lived with dogs that I have enjoyed helping take care of when they needed ( or when I’ve just needed a bit of company!) I am currently on holiday! In term time in a student paediatric nurse :) I’m just looking for something fun and bit different to do whilst I’m off. I’m really happy to chill at the pets house or take them for long walks! I will not be able to provide services at my home

I’m always nervous leaving our cat when we go away but with Carol looking after him and keeping us updated I didn’t worry once. She genuinely cares and enjoyed spending time with Georgie - I didn’t feel like he was being left alone for a week.

About: I grew up with a Labrador, living with it for 10 years. My work and social life does not really allow me to have my own dog, but I love looking after them and can fit short term care around my other commitments. I am self employed as a legal consultant. The flexibility of this allows me to fit in dog care at various times throughout the day. I live in a secure ground floor flat. This is on a new estate with a large park with plenty of space for dog walking locally.

About: Dog sitter internationally from Peru,Nicaragua, Mexico to UK for 1 weeks to 3 months. I grew up on a small holding in Devon, with every animal under the sun. I have a naturally affinity to animals, as did my mother the veterinary nurse/dog sitter/dog groomer. It’s second nature to me. I miss walking my dogs regularly as I was living away, i have now moved back up to Bristol so I’m looking to care for a dog like it’s my own. As you can see in the other section I have been dog sitting for a long time all over the world. Building trust with friends/communities and the dogs of course. I have done months on end (Nicaragua) and regular week long stays down in Dorset looking after houses/dogs. I miss going for walks and dog sitting so my cousin suggested this app and I feel very excited for the opportunity I work from home Wednesday and Fridays so those days I will be free to walk throughout the day. I wake up really early so I am available before and after work (9-4) to do any pet sitting. I work out early so I would love to replace that with runs/walks with dogs. I also go on adventures and hikes on weekends if anyone did want longer dog walks but if I’m in Bristol I’m more than happy to walk and do overnights on the weekends. I have a fenced in garden and big living room and kitchen. I’m happy for dogs to sleep in my room so they are close to me over night. I live next to 3 big parks (walking distance), I also have a caddy sized van so they can jump in front or back with me and we can do some quieter walks or longer depending on what you prefer your pet to do. I can also come and collect the pets. I just love going for walks and having a dog again to take on them would be amazing. All my pets are living with my family down in Devon so to be able to have a little bit of home from home would be amazing. My mum used to care for dogs we used to have up to 11 in the house at one time. She was originally a vet and the became a dog groomer so she had more flexibility with us. I have grown up with animals I understand them and how building trust is this most important part. I was living in Nicaragua were I became known as the one to look after peoples houses and dogs. I was trusted. I would do months on end with various different houses and dogs while working in the town. I loved it so much. From husky’s to Alsatian’s to Chihuahuas and poodles I cared for them all.

About: I’ve always loved and taken care of cats since a little girl, lots of experience with them. I have experience with dogs too, more so in recent years. I have had cats all of my life, and a dog of my own for the last 6 years. New to pet sitting outside of friends and family. I work part time from home with a very flexible schedule so visiting your babies will be easy! I will work around my drop-in visits. Both cats and dogs deserve lots of attention, cuddles and enrichment as well as their basic needs like food, water, clean litter tray etc. I will do everything I can to provide your pet with everything it needs! A drop in visit will last 30 minutes, unless upgraded to the 60 minute option. My preference is one visit per day, but I can do up to 3 visits for an additional price.

About: I know the feeling of trying to find the right person to look after my pet, which is why I’m here to provide you with the reassurance that your pet will be as well cared for as my own! I rescued my cat Pippa at 3 weeks old, and we’ve been joint at the hip ever since! I’ve always owned cats and small animals, and I’ve also spent lots of time caring for dogs, too. I work from home so my schedule is flexible. I have experience with many breeds including (but not limited to) Golden Retriever, Collie, Irish Setter, Dalmatian, Cairn Terrier, Burnese mountain dog, French Bulldog, Dachshund, Cocker Spaniel, Maltese, Cockapoo, Lurcher, Pug, Pointer and more. Please get in touch for more info, I’d be happy to help! I have recently left my role as a Midwife and I am now a mortgage advisor working at home during weekdays. I provide morning, lunchtime and/or afternoon walks. I only offer drop in visits as I own a cat. When I am in your home, I am calm and approachable as to not excite the pet too much! But we can still play and have cuddles :)

I have a fenced and long yard where pets can spent quality time. I am happy walking them around a couple of times per day. I work part time from home so i have plenty of time. I can boarding and receive visit everyday basically. I am quite flexible as well. Me and my boyfriend together take care of the dogs. About: Hi! I'm a reliable, caring animal lover with plenty of experience looking after both dogs and cats, I have a dog and cat at home. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, and I'm happy to tailor my care to make them feel safe, happy, and comfortable. Because I have a dog at home who is reactive around other dogs, I'm unable to host dogs in my own house. However, I'm available for drop-in visits, dog walking, and house sitting in your home, where your pets can stay relaxed in their familiar environment. I'm also happy to care for cats in your home. I have lots of experience with anxious dogs as I have one myself. Whether it's playtime, walks, feeding, medication, cuddles, or simply keeping your pets company while you're away, I'll treat them with the same care and attention I'd want for my own. I'll also keep you updated with regular messages and photos, so you can relax knowing your pets are in good hands. I will be around all day to walk your dog and help them with their daily routine, I can walk them around a schedule that suits the dog. I believe the best pet care starts with following each pet's normal routine as closely as possible. Before every booking, I like to learn about their feeding schedule, exercise needs, favourite activities, any medications, and anything that helps them feel comfortable. I will follow any guidance on how to look after your pets and use common sense at all times. For house sitting, I'll care for your pets in the comfort of their own home, helping to keep their routine consistent while you're away. I'll also take care of basic household tasks such as bringing in post, watering plants, and keeping your home tidy if requested.

About: We've had dogs all our life. We regularly look after a mix of cockapoos and Jack Russles for our close family (Bertie, Pepper, Goose and Peggy). Would love a dog of our own but lifestyle limits the consistent commitment. Laura, she works from home at the start and tail end of the week. Sam, he is often around on the weekends and evenings. We are very active people who love walks as well as cuddles. We have a fenced garden. Wood floors and a comfy sofa! Plenty of walking routes near by including open fields (if dog is ok off lead).

About: I have hands-on experience caring for my dogs and other pets, including fish, cats, rabbits, and hamsters! For my dogs, their mental and physical health has always been a priority. Always up to date with their vaccinations and taking them to parks and trips as much as possible. I'm available full-time, from Mondays to Sundays. I can give your pup/s lots of love, attention and care during this time. I will be away from the 18th till the 22nd of July, after these dates I will be back full time. My home has a large fenced green area where my dogs can freely play around. I always ensure they have enough water and high-quality food when needed. Since I have two small French puddles, they sleep inside the house, with a small dog staywell. When taking the dogs out, I use dog leashes and always bring with me a kit with water, food, plastic bags, etc. According to the owners ' indications, I will take care of the pets for house-setting services. I will ensure the pets are safe, healthy, and secure in a stress-free environment. I will take them to the park and give them food as indicated.

About: I have 6 solid years of experience walking dogs in the local area of various sizes and breeds - only using positive reinforcement methods, I take pride in the relationships I have with my clients and their pets and will always perform a full assessment before taking on new clients. Beyond that, I have a long background in animal care through work and study. I have worked with Pomeranians through to St Bernard’s and will always put the needs of your pet first. I typically run walks around lunchtime to fit in with most people’s working days. Pick ups will vary depending on the interactions and personality of your dog, but typically they will fit into a group with pick ups at the earliest of 10am and home latest by 1:30pm I walk in small, controlled groups of dogs that know eachother and are well socialised and assessed. We go to open green spaces or wooded areas for an explore and stomp - be warned - there will be mud! I am independently insured, first aid trained and DBS checked. Please note that I will only walk dogs that have had an in-person meet and greet so I can assess their needs and interactions. Please allow enough time before your first booking for us to facilitate this.

Really happy with the cat sit we’ve just had from Laura! Our cat Bella is super shy and anxious with new people, and Laura was really lovely and gentle with her on the meet and greet, and even though she spent both visits hiding and not really interacting, Laura was able to initiate some play with her and leave her some treats 🥰 she seemed relaxed in the photos which is a great start and I’m sure she’ll definitely be able to win her over with a few more visits! So thank you so much Laura, we really appreciate your patience and we’ll look forward to seeing the progress over any future visits! Xx

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Gloucestershire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
