About: I've taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 10. My grandparents have 2 labradoodles and 1 westie who I have walked, fed, bathed and loved many times. I've grown up with 2 old English sheepdogs who I have loved and cared for, for 11 years. My fiance also had a cockapoo who I cared for and took on many walks. I'm going to be available over half terms and summer holidays as I am a full time teacher. During those periods I will be free all day every day to pay attention to any needs that your pet may have. I'm happy to make your pet as comfortable as they need in their home as well as meeting all of their needs. I am happy to crate them at night or just leave them to roam. I have lots of walks nearby so I can walk them at any point of the day. Also I'm happy to bathe and brush any dogs too.
“Carol is absolutely fabulous. She looked after Georgie for a week during which time we had issues with our house and Georgie managed to get a cut on his face. She handled it all brilliantly which meant we could still enjoy our holiday without having to worry at all. Couldn’t recommend Carol more!”

About: I’m a student nurse who’s experienced in taking care of both people and pets. I have experience in looking after cats - I’ve lived with them since I was born. I have also lived with dogs that I have enjoyed helping take care of when they needed ( or when I’ve just needed a bit of company!) I am currently on holiday! In term time in a student paediatric nurse :) I’m just looking for something fun and bit different to do whilst I’m off. I’m really happy to chill at the pets house or take them for long walks! I will not be able to provide services at my home
About: My wife and I adore dogs (any animals really!) We help our family and friends regularly with dog sitting or walks. We have recently moved into our home which has a large, safe and secure garden. Our home has plenty of fields/parks nearby or quieter side streets to suit your dog’s needs and preferences whilst out on walks. We can provide your dog with love and affection all day as we both work from home so there is no need to leave your family pet alone. We would love to help where we can! My wife Lauren and I work solely from home so we are always around. We are in our early 30’s so have plenty of energy to give your pet. Our home is safe and secure with a big garden. We are both active so walks will be no problem, whatever breed you have and the needs they require, we will ensure we meet them. We have a lot of love to give. We have a fully fenced garden with plenty of grass for them to run around. We have a spare bedroom to make your pet feel at home, or if they need to be kept in a crate overnight and would prefer being downstairs, that’s not a problem either as we have plenty of downstairs space. We can be adaptable to your pets needs.
About: Hi! I'm a reliable, caring animal lover with plenty of experience looking after both dogs and cats, I have a dog and cat at home. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, and I'm happy to tailor my care to make them feel safe, happy, and comfortable. Because I have a dog at home who is reactive around other dogs, I'm unable to host dogs in my own house. However, I'm available for drop-in visits, dog walking, and house sitting in your home, where your pets can stay relaxed in their familiar environment. I'm also happy to care for cats in your home. I have lots of experience with anxious dogs as I have one myself. Whether it's playtime, walks, feeding, medication, cuddles, or simply keeping your pets company while you're away, I'll treat them with the same care and attention I'd want for my own. I'll also keep you updated with regular messages and photos, so you can relax knowing your pets are in good hands. I will be around all day to walk your dog and help them with their daily routine, I can walk them around a schedule that suits the dog. I believe the best pet care starts with following each pet's normal routine as closely as possible. Before every booking, I like to learn about their feeding schedule, exercise needs, favourite activities, any medications, and anything that helps them feel comfortable. I will follow any guidance on how to look after your pets and use common sense at all times. For house sitting, I'll care for your pets in the comfort of their own home, helping to keep their routine consistent while you're away. I'll also take care of basic household tasks such as bringing in post, watering plants, and keeping your home tidy if requested.

About: I have grown up with dogs and cats my whole life and often look after friends and family’s pets as well as my own. I have always loved animals. My calendar is up to date with availability. Walking regularly and looking after pets in their homes fits perfectly into my routine. I carefully plan my days to fit the needs of each pet. I offer pet sitting from your home. This way your pets will be comforted with the familiarity of their own home reducing stress and anxiety. I will be there to keep them company and stay in their routine. You will have peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, secure and well cared for.
“Rosie has been brilliant for me and my cat! I went on holiday for a week asking for some drop in visits. Rosie updated me with pictures and videos everyday and gave my cat a variety of toys to play with. I would definitely go to Rosie again!”

“Jacki is great with our 12 week old puppy. Very knowledgable, always offering us great advice and we already feel very comfortable with Jacki popping into our home and looking after him.”

About: I’ve always loved and taken care of cats since a little girl, lots of experience with them. I have experience with dogs too, more so in recent years. I have had cats all of my life, and a dog of my own for the last 6 years. New to pet sitting outside of friends and family. I work part time from home with a very flexible schedule so visiting your babies will be easy! I will work around my drop-in visits. Both cats and dogs deserve lots of attention, cuddles and enrichment as well as their basic needs like food, water, clean litter tray etc. I will do everything I can to provide your pet with everything it needs! A drop in visit will last 30 minutes, unless upgraded to the 60 minute option. My preference is one visit per day, but I can do up to 3 visits for an additional price.
“Rosie is a great sitter and a safe pair of hands. She helped me looking after Rudi in a difficult time and with very short notice. I'm grateful for her help and would recommend her to anybody needing high quality and attentive pet care. Thank you so much Rosie.”

“Hilary was amazing and Candy knew she was in safe hands straight away. We were in London for the day and I felt at ease knowing that Candy would be Hilarys priority. I cannot recommend Hilary enough for peace of mind and for the greatest care of your pets.”

About: I've always had dogs in my life growing up and then when I had my own children I had to have a family dog too. I had my own working cocker spaniel for 13 years who has sadly crossed the rainbow bridge recently leaving a big void in our home. I would love to you with the care of your dog when needed and enjoy having the company of dogs again in our home. I work from home several days a week which will reflect in my availability I am hoping to build my availability over time as I build my online business combining my two passions of counselling services and caring for animals. I have a large fenced safe garden and access to several playing fields locally. Having owned my own dog for 13 years until recently I am well equipped at home to take care of others. Happy for dogs in any space of my home, cuddles on the sofa? Absolutely! Especially after a lovely walk in nature!
“Emma looked after our cat brilliantly! She was lovely and great at communicating - sending updates every day we were away. We would be happy to book again in the future. Thanks Emma! ”

About: I joined Rover in 2022. I can't be more happier. I have a German Short-haired Pointer back home. I miss her so much so, spending time with others dogs help me a lot and keeps me busy. I have a fenced and long yard where pets can spent quality time. I am happy walking them around a couple of times per day. I work part time from home so i have plenty of time. I can boarding and receive visit everyday basically. I am quite flexible as well. Me and my boyfriend together take care of the dogs. So we both can easily manage ourselves to keep the dogs under control every time.
About: We've had dogs all our life. We regularly look after a mix of cockapoos and Jack Russles for our close family (Bertie, Pepper, Goose and Peggy). Would love a dog of our own but lifestyle limits the consistent commitment. Laura, she works from home at the start and tail end of the week. Sam, he is often around on the weekends and evenings. We are very active people who love walks as well as cuddles. We have a fenced garden. Wood floors and a comfy sofa! Plenty of walking routes near by including open fields (if dog is ok off lead).
About: I am an animal lover and I have experience looking after both cats and dogs. I have had a mini English bull terrier and poodle mixes, and have been trusted to look after friend's and family's pets. I have a car and drivers licence so I can travel to and from your home easily.

About: I've taken care of dogs and cats basically my whole life. My mum ran a 5 star dog boarding and pet sitting services for over a decade before retiring to ireland. As it was a family business i have assisted in feeding, walking and caring for small animals to cats and dogs. While I am not qualified myself I have been around qualified Caine spealists and understand dog psychology well. I currently have my own rabbit, Nico, who is my pride and joy! So I understand how deeply we love our pets and am passionate about giving them the best care. I currently work as a bank member or staff at a nursery so I don't have consistent hours. However if you specify that you would like check ins every 2 hours or need someone around the whole day I can decline work shifts for that day to meet your specific wants and needs. Im happy to comply to whatever safety measures you have in your home, weather that be crate sleeping, keeping doors closed and i am very responsible meaning all entry's will be locked and secured should I leave the house e.h for a dog walk. Additionally I am confident with older and nervous dogs, advocating whislt for them to keep there space so that they maintain happy.

We were away for a whole week and came home to two happy cats who were possibly a bit disappointed it wasn't Maddison at the door. As well as feeding them she gave them plenty of attention and played with them, sent photos and kept in touch. Happy cats and happy humans, thank you 😊

My cat doesn't really like anyone but she loved Imogen. It was a surprise actually. I was so pleased to see the pictures Imogen sent of the two of them hanging out on the sofa together. Imogen also managed to administer Bennies meds easily which again was such a relief. I am so pleased that I have booked another drop in in August. Thanks Imogen.

Carol is absolutely fabulous. She looked after Georgie for a week during which time we had issues with our house and Georgie managed to get a cut on his face. She handled it all brilliantly which meant we could still enjoy our holiday without having to worry at all. Couldn’t recommend Carol more!

Meg was a pleasure and looked after my kitties really well. I could tell she really cares for cats, which was the most important thing for me, and I felt really confident leaving them in her capable hands. She communicated really well, and quickly got back to me, sent pics and updates. I liked that she was down to earth and was very patient with me throughout. As a first time user of the site, and I'd had a really busy and stressful time before going away, this meant so much to me. They were as happy as Larry when I got back, which was brilliant- thanks Meg. Highly recommended.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Gloucestershire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
