“Dan took good care of our pup and we were so grateful to find someone with such short notice who could happily spend time with her and play/fuss her. Felt reassured with the discussion beforehand and would happily book again - she was happy and well cared for!”

About: I’ve always loved and taken care of cats since a little girl, lots of experience with them. I have experience with dogs too, more so in recent years. I have had cats all of my life, and a dog of my own for the last 6 years. New to pet sitting outside of friends and family. I work part time from home with a very flexible schedule so visiting your babies will be easy! I will work around my drop-in visits. Both cats and dogs deserve lots of attention, cuddles and enrichment as well as their basic needs like food, water, clean litter tray etc. I will do everything I can to provide your pet with everything it needs! A drop in visit will last 30 minutes, unless upgraded to the 60 minute option. My preference is one visit per day, but I can do up to 3 visits for an additional price.
“Rosie is a great sitter and a safe pair of hands. She helped me looking after Rudi in a difficult time and with very short notice. I'm grateful for her help and would recommend her to anybody needing high quality and attentive pet care. Thank you so much Rosie.”

About: I have grown up with dogs and cats my whole life and often look after friends and family’s pets as well as my own. I have always loved animals. My calendar is up to date with availability. Walking regularly and looking after pets in their homes fits perfectly into my routine. I carefully plan my days to fit the needs of each pet. I offer pet sitting from your home. This way your pets will be comforted with the familiarity of their own home reducing stress and anxiety. I will be there to keep them company and stay in their routine. You will have peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, secure and well cared for.
About: I have always loved animals. My grandparents used to have a farm so I have experience with lots of animals. I used to keep many pets as a child. We have a four year old dog-friendly Pomeranian girl called Stella so I can ONLY help look after small or medium-sized dog breeds either female or neutered male who are friendlly with toy breeds. I work part-time in a nursery 3 days a week and have weekends, Mondays and Fridays off so I could give the dog my full attention then. My husband works from home so he can take care of the dogs when I am at work. We own a 4 bedroom detached house with a good size garden near a large park. I have two teenaged children and they love animals and long walks. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Kind regards, Marketa My husband works from home on the days that I work, so my dog and your dog would never be left alone for more than few hours at a time when my husband needs to go shopping for example. We have a fenced, good sized garden and 4 bedroom detached spacious home and a teenage children who adore animals and help with dog walking.
“We booked Jacki to check in on our 2 dogs while we both had to go away for the day. They both loved Jacki's visits and she took plenty of photos so we knew they were both safe and happy!”

“Megan was lovely to liaise with and was happy to stop by and visit Fiadh while we were out for the day. Fiadh was happy and snoozy when we got home, and from the pictures sent by Megan it looks like she had a fab time!”

About: We've had dogs all our life. We regularly look after a mix of cockapoos and Jack Russles for our close family (Bertie, Pepper, Goose and Peggy). Would love a dog of our own but lifestyle limits the consistent commitment. Laura, she works from home at the start and tail end of the week. Sam, he is often around on the weekends and evenings. We are very active people who love walks as well as cuddles. We have a fenced garden. Wood floors and a comfy sofa! Plenty of walking routes near by including open fields (if dog is ok off lead).

About: experienced and huge dog lover and looking to help out where possible, available as much as I can be and will work around people where possible Im working full time but am all around Bristol but can help out before and after, partner works from home when needed. Happy to try and work around people. Will of course speak to the owner about how there dog is and acts to make sure they are as comfortable as possible, will bring toys etc for walks.
About: I grew up with a Labrador, living with it for 10 years. My work and social life does not really allow me to have my own dog, but I love looking after them and can fit short term care around my other commitments. I am self employed as a legal consultant. The flexibility of this allows me to fit in dog care at various times throughout the day. I live in a secure ground floor flat. This is on a new estate with a large park with plenty of space for dog walking locally.
About: I study animal management, having completed level 2 and currently working towards my level 3 qualification. I have always been surrounded by animals growing up, I regularly look after my friends and neighbours pets when they are away. I have hands-on experience working in dog daycare setting working with large number of dogs, providing group walks (leash off and leash on walks), feeding, cleaning, enrichment activities and monitoring behaviour to ensure the best for their welfare. I’m calm and confident handling small & medium sized dogs, and I have experience working with a variety of breeds. I currently have 4 cats at home, giving me strong experience with pet care. I previously owned and cared for a Shih Tzu from a young age till her senior age, which has helped me develop a good understanding of their behaviour, needs, and daily routines. My qualifications & experiences: - Level 2 animal management - Level 3 animal management (in progress) - dog walking training - farm work experience - dog day care experience - dog hotel & grooming experience I am currently working part time in a dog day care centre and studying in college. I am available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sunday. During summer holiday I will be available for full time care. I am flexible with timings and can try to accommodate different schedules where possible. I follow each pet’s routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. I ensure they are fed, have fresh water, and get the right amount of exercise, play, and attention. I always prioritise safety, keep the environment clean, and pay close attention to their behaviour and needs.
“Carol looked after my two cats, Hendrix and Whitley, while I was away and I couldn’t have felt more comfortable leaving them in her care. She sent regular updates and photos throughout, which was really reassuring, and it was clear they were both happy and well looked after. Would definitely recommend Carol and would happily book with her again.”

“Rosie has been brilliant for me and my cat! I went on holiday for a week asking for some drop in visits. Rosie updated me with pictures and videos everyday and gave my cat a variety of toys to play with. I would definitely go to Rosie again!”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - South Gloucestershire
Kirsty was absolutely fabulous. She took care of our cats over a long weekend and was kind, thoughtful, respectful and an excellent communicator. She spent time with our cats at the drop in times, giving them kindness and attention, which was appreciated. We had good, descriptive updates to assurance us whilst we were away. Highly recommend, and will be rebooking for next trip if we can.
Scarlett is my go to cat sitter! She’s so attentive and looks after my lovely indoor cat Gus Gus so well, he’s a quirky boy and she really enjoys dropping in on him and that makes me feel so reassured she seems to genuinely enjoy it :) I will be booking her exclusively going forward when I am away as she is just perfect for me!

Fay was amazing. She did 2 visits a day for 5 days for our cats when we were away. She gave us lots of updates, was great at communicating and our cats who can be a bit aloof absolutely love her and seemed so happy and relaxed . Really put me at ease when away knowing she was minding them . Have already rebooked her twice more

This was our first time using Rover and our first time leaving our cat with another person other than family. We were a little unsure of how it would go but Amy was brilliant, we couldn’t be more happy. Amy was friendly, reliable and communicated throughout, sending regular updates and photos which gave us complete peace of mind. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable person visitor/sitter.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Gloucestershire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
