“Huge thanks to Steve for taking such great care of our puppy, Rolex. When we got home, Rolex was happy, relaxed, and clearly very well looked after. Steve was calm, attentive, and provided truly top-class care. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.”

“Ana is fantastic! My cat Izzy never comes down the stairs to anyone she doesn't know but Ana is the exception. I don't think my cats were happy that it was us that walked through the door instead of Ana when we got back. Highly recommend”

“We cant thank Mel enough for looking after our two cats. A worry free break was what we needed and knowing the fur babies were in her capable hands got us that. This is the 2nd time Mel has done drop in visits and the cats are so relaxed and happy in her company. I would thoroughly recommended Mel and oh my word does she take incredible photos for her kitty updates!!!”

“Lula always does a wonderful job taking care of Bobbin. She always makes sure he’s happy, comfortable, and well looked after. We especially appreciate the regular updates she sends—they really put our minds at ease and let us see just how much love and attention Bobbin is getting while we’re away. It’s clear she genuinely cares, and that makes all the difference. We’re so thankful we found Lula and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to any pet owner looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy pet sitter.”

“Megan was perfect! Tommy and Nine loved her from the first minute and they were super comfortable with her visits. I had very detailed and constant updates. Definitely will book again if needed!”

“Ieva was fantastic from first meeting, she didn't force herself on the cats. Really asked all about them and their habits and likes/dislikes so when she came to visit she could spend the time doing exactly what they liked. Would 100% recommend and rebook.”

About: I’m an insured and dbs checked dog walker. I worked in a dog groomers so have experience with all breeds of dogs. I had 2 fur babies of my own until recently, sadly they are no longer with me. I believe all dogs should have the run of the house and be treated like family because they are! I’d look after your fur baby like they are my own. I currently work around the school times mostly then once school runs are done I work until evening time. This is everyday apart from weekend, where I am free to look after pets anytime. I have an enclosed garden with a high wall. I would take dogs out for walks twice a day unless otherwise requested or is is too hot. Dogs are allowed the full run of the house and can even sleep on the bed if they wish too! I believe they are part of the family so they get treated exactly like that here. Lots of cuddles, fuss and playtime are given
“Our cat sitter was lovely with my three cats—Thor, Athena, and Luna. Thor warmed up to her straight away, and she was so gentle and patient with the others too. You can really tell she loves animals and takes her time to make them feel safe. I feel so confident leaving them in her care. Highly recommend!”

“Hannah made us feel so reassured our cat was safe and in good hands a followed our fussy food instructions perfectly. Our cat is normally timid around new people but took a liking to Hannah straight away and we know this because she only ‘boops’ strangers hands with her nose for scritches when she likes and trusts you. Hannah kept us updated with photos and videos and we could tell from our cats behaviour she was happy to see Hannah. We would highly recommend Hannah and will continue to book her in future.”

“Ying-Ying was brilliant at looking after our little dog Lewie! She was communicative with updates and pictures whilst we were away and she is super friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Ying-Ying again :)”

“Claudia was fab with Bali! A bouncy dog is not for everyone but she managed her so well & made sure she behaved! Claudia kept in touch & provided multiple updates. Would definitely recommend her & will no doubt use her again in future. Thanks again :)”

“Robert followed my instructions perfectly, kept me well updated, and took very good care of my beloved cat, Diego. Thank you for being so attentive, Rob! I’ll be booking Rob again in the future.”

About: I’ve grown up with animals and have never lived without one! I regularly dog/cat sit for my grandparents as they go away quite a few times a year. I also have a beautiful border collie named Nala, who I pride myself in taking care of! I work part time but am fully flexible with when I can do drop in visits and walks as I only work 5 hour shifts. I live near multiple big fields where there is plenty of room for your dogs to roam free and explore for themselves whilst getting all the exercise they need! I live in a very sociable area so your dog will get plenty of needed social time, however there are also plenty of areas around where I can go for a quiet walk if needed.

I booked six visits with Sian for my two cats and they both seemed well looked after ❤️ I received pictures after every visit and they got to know and trust Sian very quickly, even my more reserved and scared of everything cat didn’t have any trust issues. Communication was easy and Sian always asked if unsure of things. Happy to book again in the future.

She was absolutely amazing! 🥰 She took such great care of my cats and really took the time to get to know them. She kept me updated by sending regular pictures, which was so reassuring while I was away, and she even watered my plants for me! 🌿🐱 She was so approachable, kind and reliable, and I couldn’t have asked for anyone better. I would highly recommend her and would definitely use her again! ❤️

Thank you so much to Krisztina for taking such wonderful care of my little cat, Elaf. She kept me updated after every visit with photos and messages about how he was doing, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Elaf was clearly comfortable and well looked after. I will definitely be using your services again — thank you!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Newport choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
