“Ieva stopped by for another bonding session with our "difficult" Rommie rescue Toni. She is wonderfully patient with him and understands his reactive behaviour is him being a terrified old boy because of his troubled history. She takes the time to learn his boundaries and is very good at asserting her boundaries too. Toni was even offering his paw and listening to her recall commands, and this was just the 2nd session of bonding. Long may this continue up until and beyond our vacation in June, where Ieva has provisionally agreed to house sit Toni and his cat sister Zora.”

“Ying-ying did an amazing job caring for our cats while we were away. She was attentive and reliable. We came home to happy, relaxed cats. Highly recommend! We will be booking her again!”

“After our previous pet minding arrangement had fallen through, Anna was luckily available at short notice. We hadn’t used this kind of service before but we instantly felt at ease, Anna is very sweet and friendly and took time to get to know our 12 year old cat, Simmy. We got regular updates and pictures and felt so much more comfortable knowing she was in good hands. We would definitely book with Ana again! Thank you so much Ana! :)”

About: Hii, I'm Claudia! I've loved animals for as long as I can remember and am definitely the type of person who notices the pets before people! My background includes working in a veterinary clinic, kennels & cattery, and also studying Animal Care, Animal Biology, and Zoology. Although my career later took me in a different direction, caring for animals has always been where my heart is. I currently have a wonderful 13 year old long haired tabby cat (who sheds everywhere!) and a lovable Romanian rescue dog, who has taught me so much about patience, understanding, and working with different personalities and behaviours. I'm regularly trusted to take care of my friends and family's pets (rabbits included), and I genuinely love spending my time this way. While I can't board pets in my own home due to having 2 of my own, I'd love to help through: - Pet sitting in your home - Drop in visits for feeding, fresh water, toilet breaks, cleaning, playtime and cuddles - Dog walks in your local area. As the owner of a reactive dog, I'm always mindful that every dog has their own unique needs, routines, and triggers, so please let me know any specific requirements. For any service, I'll provide plenty of photos and updates, and I'll never hesitate to ask questions to ensure your pet receives the very best care while you're away - I'm also a user of Rover and appreciate this! Please drop me a message if you're interested in meeting first, ahead of booking me for your pet, I appreciate you want to be comfortable and trust me first! :) I currently in between jobs, so my calendar is quite flexible to offer pet sitting, drop in visits, and dog walks (weather permitting). I have a car, and I'm happy to travel locally to care for your pets. If your dog has a favourite walking route, park, or specific routine they'd like to stick to, I'd be more than happy to accommodate wherever possible. I understand how important consistency can be for our pets, and I'll always do my best to make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for. To help me provide the best possible care, I'd appreciate as much information as you'd like to share about your pet's routine, preferences, and any house rules. Things like feeding schedules, favourite toys, areas of the home they're allowed in, walking routines, and any special requirements are always helpful to know. I'm a very organised person and like to make notes to ensure I remember all the important details, so you can feel confident that your pet's usual routine will be followed as closely as possible. I know every pet is different, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know their individual personalities and needs.
“Huge thanks to Steve for taking such great care of our puppy, Rolex. When we got home, Rolex was happy, relaxed, and clearly very well looked after. Steve was calm, attentive, and provided truly top-class care. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.”

About: Hello I’m Ruby a 18 year old student who is passionate about providing calm, reliable and compassionate care to ensure your pets are content in the comfort of their own home. I have been doing casual shifts in a stray kennels which has allowed me to gain experience with rescue and nervous dogs. I am currently working on a diploma 4 expanding my knowledge on a canines care, behaviour management and welfare. In addition to this I have been pursuing a hobby of canine photography so you should be expecting lots of lovely and frequent photos while you’re away. I have grown up in a household that has always owned cats so I can provide cat care as well which is tailored to their needs. My priority is the animals welfare, creating consistency and calmness while the owners are away. For the comfort and the safety of pets, I am currently unable to work with cats or dogs that have history of aggression or bad behavioural problems. I wish to be informed about the animals needs and do a meet and greet to ensure I will be the right fit for them during drop ins or overnight stays. I am currently doing casual shifts meaning I have lots of flexibility to attend drop ins or overnights throughout weekdays and on weekends however advanced bookings will need to be scheduled so I can plan my availability! I will be caring for pets in the owners home based off their own needs through maintaining their usual routine and welfare. I’ll also treat every home with respect and keeping them consistently updated.

About: I've taken care of animals from dogs, cats and hamsters and each animal has been very spoilt as I have a lot of love to give to these precious creatures. I'm always available 6 days a week to look after my friends or families dogs/ cats and have catered to each animals needs. I've always been an animal lover and have grown up with both cats and dogs and have bought my own cats a soon as I've moved out. I work from home which means I am flexible throughout the day and I can walk your dog whenever you need me too. No hassle no fuss. You can be assured that when your pet returns, that they will return very happy. They may return with a new toy or a few treats :) If you are enable to travel, I am willing to travel to you and walk your furry friend around your area, equally I can take them back to my area and walk them. I plan on providing for each furry friend what he or she enjoys the best. For example if your dog loves playing fetch, well do that, if your dog loves going on a run with their hooman, we'll do that, does your dog like to go for a swim? We'll do that. I'm all about putting the care, needs and safety of your dog first. I know parks can be full of bikes and scooters too but I want to assure you that I'm always aware of this as my own dog loves to bark and would possibly chase them if she were allowed so I'm always on the look out for them. I highly recommend not booking me on very hot days as I do not want burn their little paws on the hot path. I do have a portable water bowl to bring on each walk incase they get thirsty. When I walk my own dogs, I usually keep them on a short lead (whilst near roads) untill I get to the park/ field where either is safe enough to either let them off the lead or extend the lead so they have a bit more freedom. I live very close to a few vets so you never need to worry if anything were to go wrong. I have actually taken stray dogs/ my friends dogs to the vets to get seen when there was something wrong.
“We have been using Aimee for a couple of weeks now, and she’s been nothing short of amazing with our two little babies! Keeps us updated with pics and gives us a little message on how their day went. Very thorough with what dates she can do, and lets us know well in advance days she can’t do. Thank you so much Aimee for looking after our little ones.”

“Jess was very happy with Krisztina visiting and even waited on the drive for her. Krisztina knows her stuff about cats and I was very happy to leave Jess in her care.”

“Megan was wonderful with Jarvis. She kept me updated throughout with regular photos and messages, which was really reassuring. Jarvis is a nervous cat, but he was comfortable enough around Megan to let her give him his medication, which as a cat with epilepsy is really important. Would recommend her and would happily book again. Thank you Meg 😊”

“Hannah made us feel so reassured our cat was safe and in good hands a followed our fussy food instructions perfectly. Our cat is normally timid around new people but took a liking to Hannah straight away and we know this because she only ‘boops’ strangers hands with her nose for scritches when she likes and trusts you. Hannah kept us updated with photos and videos and we could tell from our cats behaviour she was happy to see Hannah. We would highly recommend Hannah and will continue to book her in future.”

“Claudia was fab with Bali! A bouncy dog is not for everyone but she managed her so well & made sure she behaved! Claudia kept in touch & provided multiple updates. Would definitely recommend her & will no doubt use her again in future. Thanks again :)”

I've done walking for friends, family, house pet sitting for colleagues, including feeding, playing, walking with lots of cute photos! I'm currently working part time so am able to be more flexible with bookings, choosing which days I would like to work. On working days I finish at 3:30 so will still be available every afternoon and evening. I do not have a crate however have lots of toys. I live on the waterfront so lots of fresh air and scenery for walks and movement breaks:)
About: I’ve had both cats and dogs since the age of 7, I’ve always been an animal lover. I regularly take care of relatives and friends pets and have been trusted to do so from about the age of 10. I am so happy to have discovered this app, nothing makes me happier than spending time with animals and being out in nature, I find it very beneficial for my mental health. I currently have a very free and flexible schedule since finishing uni, so plenty of time to play, walk and take care of some dogs! I’ve had experience with all different breeds and sized dogs. I consider my dogs to be members of my family, so I would always treat other people’s pets as I would my own and shower them with love and attention.
“Maria was such a great help when I needed someone to check in on my cats. I received lots of pictures from her visit and updates on how my boys are, she fed them and played with them. They can be a bit wary of new people but Maria understands that a slower approach with cats is needed sometimes and they quickly got used her. This was the first time I’ve used Maria but will definitely keep her in mind for future when needed. Highly recommended, thank you!”

Sian was an excellent cat sitter, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her. She was kind, reliable, and clearly cared about my cats. Throughout the stay she kept me updated with messages and lovely photos, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. When I returned home, my cats were relaxed, happy, and well looked after. It was clear they had been given plenty of attention and care. Thank you, Sian, for taking such wonderful care of them—I would be delighted to book with you again in the future!

First time using someone to look after our 6 cats that wasnt family. So a bit anxious at first. But needn't have worried, Dominika sent regular photos of them playing and they all looked happy, which was a huge relief. Even Jasmine, the more nervous of the group came out from her hiding spot for fuss. Thank you so much for looking after our babies, would definitely use again and highly recommended

Amazing service! Ana kept me informed every day and wrote detailed accounts of my cats and what they had been up to with photos to match. The process of discussing my cats and their care/schedules was super simple. I’d 100% recommend Ana if you’re looking for an exceptional cat sitter.

Thank you so much to Krisztina for taking such wonderful care of my little cat, Elaf. She kept me updated after every visit with photos and messages about how he was doing, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Elaf was clearly comfortable and well looked after. I will definitely be using your services again — thank you!

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Newport pet parents with similar pet households.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Newport choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
