Sarah was absolutely incredible, honestly all that I could have asked for and more. She looked after my two cats for the weekend while I was away at a family ashes spreading service. Not only was she happy to care for the cats, but she also took on the task of misting my pet mantises and stick insects. She sent photos of the cats, and she fed and played with them, cuddled with them, and changed their litter. Even my elderly cat who is nervous and generally hides from everyone, came running over to see Sarah when she first visited, and began rubbing up against her legs; clearly the lady has a way with animals! She was also kind enough to bring parcels in for me when they were left on the doorstep, even one which was really heavy. All of this would be enough for me to confidently recommended her to others, but the biggest reason I think anyone would be lucky to have her looking after their pets, is that she has just such a comforting presence, and she went above and beyond to put me at ease about leaving my home and my animal family members. I was really worried about being away from them, and this was the first time I’ve ever used a service like this. I suspect I’m not the only pet parent who is nervous about leaving their pets, and having someone who is so reassuring and capable really makes it less scary. She followed all of my instructions to the letter and was also very kind about the fact that I’d left a short novel of printed instructions. Overall, she was just a really kind and capable pet sitter, and I will absolutely rush to use her again if I once again have to go away. She’d even tied a pretty yellow ribbon on my keys when she put them back through the door after her last check in. Truly, I cannot recommend her highly enough, she is clearly just the most wonderful person!

Megan looked after my cat for a week over Christmas, and I couldn’t be more pleased. I came home to a happy, relaxed cat, which said everything about the care he’d received. Megan is lovely, she took the time to meet him beforehand and they bonded straight away. She is conscientious, reliable, and professional, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again and would highly recommend her. Thank you!

About: I have years of experience working with pets, including my time in Thailand where I worked with the Soi Dogs and brought my own dogs home with me. I have also rehomed and cared for many street dogs. My old dog has been blind for the past 3 years, so I truly understand the challenges our furry companions face. I'm fully insured and have plenty of energy to play with and cuddle these wonderful animals. I’m fortunate to own a successful company, which allows me to work just a few hours a day from my beautiful home on the 5 mile lane . My partner and I live in a spacious house with plenty of room for our furry friends . My house has two separate areas, so I can easily separate dogs if needed. I prefer to limit myself to just two dogs at a time to ensure I can give them all the attention they deserve.

Ashley looked after my elderly cat for a week, and I think she was sad that he left! He gave her all the cuddles and company she could have asked for, cleaned up after messes and was diligent about giving her her thyroid medication twice a day. Updates were regular and I really couldn't fauly him. I would definitly recommend his services and will go to him in the future for pet sitting services.

About: As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, caring for animals is what i do. I've always had a deep love for animals, and feel so fortunate to work in a profession where compassion, knowledge and dedication makes a real difference to pets lives every single day. I'm a kind, pateint and attentive person who understands that every pet is unique. My veterinary background means i'm confident recognising any subtle changes in behaviour or health, administering medication if required, and ensuring your pets wellbeing and safety at all times. But beyond the clinical skills, I genuinely love building bonds with the animals I care for and making them feel secure, happy and loved while you're away. My motivation to be a pet sitter comes from wanting to provide owners with complete peace of mind. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet - they're family. Whether its cuddles on the sofa, enrichment playtime, gentle walks, or simple companionship. I tailor my care to suit your pets individual needs and routine. I've gained experience pet sitting for family and friends, caring for a variety of pets in their own homes. I'm now looking to expand this further and offer the same reliable, compassionate care to a wider range of owners. Please enquire about day bookings (for some reason Rover doesnt allow you to book day bookings, only night bookings) i can then advise on prices per hour/bulk prices for longer bookings. Fully covered by insurance & DBS Checked As i work full time as an RVN, I work long hours during the daytime in the week so offer more evening/overnight sitting, i can be fully available on weekends and on Wednesdays. I am a trusted, caring individual with years of pet care experience. I will always treat your home with respect and ensure the safety of your fur baby at all times.

About: I have grown up with dogs and have extensive hands-on experience caring for them throughout my life. I currently have four dogs of my own and have cared for six dogs in total over the years, giving me experience with a range of breeds, personalities, and care needs. As a dog owner, I understand the importance of providing regular exercise, companionship, and attentive care. I am confident handling dogs on walks, maintaining routines, and ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have experience walking dogs for others and understand the trust owners place in someone caring for their beloved pets. I am passionate about animals and enjoy spending time outdoors, making dog walking and pet care something I genuinely love. I will always treat your pet with the same care, patience, and attention that I give my own dogs. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I currently work part-time evening shifts, which means I am available throughout most mornings and afternoons for dog walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting. This gives me plenty of flexibility to provide dogs with the time, attention, and exercise they need. I am also completely available on most Wednesdays and weekends, making me a great option for longer walks, regular care, or pet sitting while owners are away. As a dog owner myself, caring for animals is already a part of my everyday life, and I genuinely enjoy spending time outdoors and ensuring pets are happy, active, and well cared for. When caring for pets in their owner's home, I aim to maintain their usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. I will follow all instructions provided regarding feeding, exercise, medication, and any specific needs or preferences your pet may have. Safety is my top priority. During walks, I ensure dogs are kept securely on lead where required, remain attentive to their surroundings, and avoid situations that may cause stress or discomfort. I am experienced around dogs of different sizes and temperaments and always use a calm, patient approach. While pet sitting, I will provide plenty of companionship, playtime, and attention, as well as regular toilet breaks, fresh water, and exercise. I understand that inviting someone into your home requires trust, and I will always treat your property with respect and care. I am happy to provide updates and photos during visits or stays so you can feel confident that your pet is happy, safe, and well looked after while you are away.

About: Hi, we’re Marcus and Josh 😁! Between us, we've had 6 dogs. The latest is our very sweet labrador retriever! We're able to cater to a variety of different energy needs, from the laziest to the most energetic! We have fields and woods near our house, so we are able to give walks of different lengths. Your dog can also stay in a separate room, upon request. Both of us work from home, so there will always be at least one person with the dogs at all times. We are able to provide morning, lunchtime, and evening walks. Boarding is available upon request. We can accommodate most dates! We have a fenced garden and a friendly labrador if your dog needs company. We can provide a separate sleeping area for your dog if needed. We do not have a crate, so if crating is required, we would need the crate to be dropped off and picked up.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Vale of Glamorgan choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
