I couldn’t recommend Charlotte enough! From the first meeting she was so reassuring, answered all our questions and was just amazing, she looked after our little boy perfectly, whilst we was getting married we received photos of our boy which really put us at ease which took a lot of pressure off us, we hope to use Charlotte again soon.

I messaged Victoria with a last minute booking after previously being let down and was absolutely amazing. After I delivered the key to the wrong house she even went to collect it for me to be able to complete the visit. Will 100% use again. Thank you.

About: I have had dogs all my life. I have had small and large dogs and experience of walking and caring. My dog Luna now is a great Dane and enjoy walking up mountains and to rivers. I have a good level of fitness so able to take dogs on similar walks if wanted. I work full time as a nurse but looking for enjoyment on my days off I currently work full time as a nurse. I do shift work so am able to dedicate time to something I really enjoy. I love being outdoors and have a good level of fitness. I have experience of looking after dogs and have my own dog since a puppy. She initially was a very nervous puppy but with patient she is a fab dog now who enjoys being out and with my children.

Tegan was very flexible and available at short notice today. She was accommodating to my needs for dog sitting and showed up on time. Tegan made a real effort with my dog and kept me updated on how the sitting session was going! Tegan is a lovely person and I felt like I could trust her in my home and especially with my dog I will definitely be a regular customer. Thank you ❤️

About: I've taken care of dogs of every kind since I was a teenager. What started as a natural love of animals has since become my profession. I'm now a qualified animal behaviourist with a Postgraduate Certificate in Companion Animal Behaviour and Welfare, which means I don't just look after your dog — I understand them. Whether it's a quick drop-in or a longer sit, you can trust your dog is in safe, knowledgeable hands. I know what to do to keep your dog happy, settled, entertained and safe. I run my own dog and cat behaviour consultancy, which means my schedule is flexible. Drop ins fit naturally around my working day and I'm used to planning my time around animals and your pets will always be my priority during a booked visit. I'm available across the week and can discuss timing to suit your routine. When I visit your home for a drop in, I treat it with the same care and respect I'd give my own. Your pet stays in their familiar environment, with their own smells, routine and comfort which is often far less stressful than going somewhere new. As a qualified animal behaviourist, I'm trained to read dog and cat body language and respond appropriately, so I'll always handle your pet calmly and confidently. I follow your instructions to the letter and will always update you during every visit.

About: I absolutely adore all animals! I am patient, kind and caring. I would love to take care, walk and feed your fur babies for you when needed. I have welcomed quite a few pets into my home over the past year now and I know some great spots for dog walks! I teach swimming lessons Monday to Wednesday from 1pm-7:30pm and then work from home Thursday to Friday and have the weekends free for nice long walks I live in a 2 bedroom flat which is quite spacious, I have a large fenced off garden and I have some lovely dog walks near by. I would require their dog bowls/food & a doggy bed. I can provide the rest. I can provide regular potty breaks as I am home most of the time.

Thank you so much Charlotte for looking after the 3 musketeers for us to go away. They’ve loved wrapping Charlotte around their paws, being spoilt with treats and lots of attention 🥰

I was going away for three days and needed to find a new cat sitter, and Alison’s profile immediately stood out to me. There was a great selection of photos of her with the pets she had looked after, and it was clear straight away that she has a genuine love and affinity for animals. I’m so glad I chose Alison! She kept me regularly updated with photos and short videos, which gave me great peace of mind while I was away. When I returned, the house was spotless and, most importantly, my two cats were happy and well cared for. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Alison and will definitely be using her again.

Chloe recently looked after my dog Star whilst I was out with work. She let her out for toilet breaks, gave her food, and made sure to spend time playing with her. Star clearly enjoyed the company and was well cared for. It’s a relief as a dog mum knowing she’s in safe hands. I’d definitely recommend Chloe to anyone looking for a dog sitter.

Yes, absolutely! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Merthyr Tydfil pet parents with similar pet households.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Merthyr Tydfil choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
