About: I lived with dogs (labs and spaniels) for most of my childhood and was always taught how to train them, how to walk them, and the other essentials of pet care. I currently work from home and have a flexible work pattern so can regularly take pups for toilet breaks/walks. I regularly go on long walks when I can. All I need now is a dog to take with me! Dogs will be given as much or as little attention as needed during the day, able to roam as they please. I’m happy to talk to owners about any specific requirements and I’ll see what I can do!

About: I’ve grown up in a family that has always had dogs and cats, so animals have always been a big part of my life. I’ve regularly looked after dogs for family and friends and absolutely love having their company around the home. Over the years, I’ve had experience looking after dogs of all different ages, personalities and needs. I’ve cared for senior dogs and have experience giving medication, including looking after a dog with severe allergies who needed oral medication. I’ve also looked after an anxious Dachshund who needed a little extra patience and reassurance, especially when out on walks. I really enjoy getting to know a dog’s individual personality and making sure they feel safe, happy and comfortable in my care. Our family Cocker Spaniel has also taught me a lot about caring for dogs with more complex needs. He’s had quite a challenging start to life, including a blood transfusion and hip replacement at just three years old, and he now has arthritis. Because of this, I’m very aware of the importance of keeping him calm, managing his activity and making sure he doesn’t get too excited and accidentally injure himself. He also has some resource-guarding behaviours, partly due to his medication and the fact that his food needs to be carefully managed. This has taught me to be patient, stay calm and understand the reasons behind a dog’s behaviour, while also setting kind but clear boundaries. For me, looking after a dog is about much more than just feeding them and taking them for walks. I want them to feel comfortable, cared for and at home while they’re with me. I understand that every dog is different, and I’m more than happy to give them the patience, attention and extra care they need. Most importantly, I’ll treat every dog as if they were my own. 🐾 As I work from home, I’m around throughout the day to give dogs regular attention, toilet breaks, playtime and companionship. I always follow each dog’s usual routine, feeding instructions and individual needs, and I make sure they are supervised and cared for throughout their stay. I’ll also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they can have peace of mind while they’re away. Live a short walk away from Roath lake and Maindy Velodrome to go for lovely walks. I provide a safe, calm and comfortable home environment where dogs can feel relaxed and part of the family. I have a private garden where they can enjoy some fresh air and outdoor time, as well as plenty of space indoors to settle and rest.

About: I’ve had a deep bond with dogs since childhood. I grew up with a German Shepherd who was part of our family for 12 wonderful years. I always enjoyed our walks, playtime, and cuddles she truly shaped my love and understanding of dogs. After she passed, I continued caring for dogs by helping my cousin at her dog hotel, where I regularly walked and cared for her five Huskies and other boarding dogs. These experiences taught me how to handle various breeds, energy levels, and temperaments. Now, I have a rescue dog from Oman who has been with me for almost two years. When I adopted him, he struggled with severe anxiety and fear of going outside. With patience, structure, and positive reinforcement, he’s made incredible progress. This journey has given me valuable experience in working with dogs who have experienced trauma or display challenging behaviors. While I didn’t pursue my childhood dream of becoming a vet, my passion for dogs and animals has remained strong. I believe animals, especially dogs, are among the purest souls in the world—and I treat every dog in my care with love, patience, and respect. I am currently out of work so I am available mostly at any time except Mondays and Thursdays between 6-9 pm but I’m available any other time I always follow the owner’s instructions, every dog is different and has different needs. I always pay attention to my surroundings and make sure the dog is close to me.

About: I have previously worked with pet training specialists and can provide my own knowledge of how to care for your pets behaviours. I also have experience in dog resuscitation, for emergencies and can look after dogs with special needs/medical illnesses/requirements. I am currently using rover and other pet care websites as my full time job. This means I am available all day every day, at any time to take care of your pets! I will look after the pets as if they were my own. I understand boundaries and respect within someone’s home. I’m here to give you a trustworthy place to leave your animals. Any requirements you have for your home or loved pets, can be done. Usually when doing these jobs I bring my husband along, just for safety reasons and to also help out on demanding jobs. If you’re not okay with that, let me know and we can work around it!

About: Hi! I’m Kayleigh and have always been a massive dog lover! I have a 6 year old Sprocker Spaniel called Rex who means the absolute world to me, so I really do understand how hard it is to trust somebody else with your precious doggo’s! So please be assured that your dog would be in the best hands and I would hand on heart treat them as my own. I have previously been a trusted dog carer on Rover but took a break due to work commitments, but now that I have more flexibility I would love to have some extra dog company again! Rex is well exercised and has plenty of enrichment throughout the day and your dog would also get this if this suits your dogs needs, along with lots of love and affection of course! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to drop me a message :) When I work, I work from home so your dog would never be left on their own and I am able to walk and keep your doggo’s entertained throughout the day! I have a reasonable sized garden which is fenced. There are some local parks nearby for walks, however I also drive so tend to venture to new places as much as possible!

About: Hi, my name is Maddie and I love cats and dogs! I come from a family of cat-people, so I've looked after five family cats in my life, and a dog. Currently I live with my partner and our 10-year-old cat Sooty. In 2019, I took-up pet-sitting alongside my studies at university and regularly looked after three chihuahuas. Now, I'm settled in a job and I'm looking to take up pet-sitting again. I've recently had a few cat-sitting jobs and really enjoyed it. I'm able to provide dog walking, drop-in visits and overnight stays for cats and dogs. I'm also happy to provide additional house-sitting duties - let me know what help you need! About: I grew up in a very furry household: 6 dogs, 10 cats, plus years of horse riding camps - animals were basically part of everyday life for me. Since moving to Cardiff, I haven’t been able to have as many animals around me, and I genuinely miss it! Looking after pets takes me straight back to those happy, chaotic, furry years. For the last two years I’ve also looked after friends’ dogs and cats, taking them for walks, feeding them, playing with them, keeping them company and giving medication when needed. I’d love to do much more pet sitting, which is exactly why I’m here. I’m patient, affectionate and easy-going with animals, and happy to follow their usual routine. I love walking, so energetic dogs and I tend to get on very well - and I seem to have a natural way with cats too, even the shy or tricky ones often warm up to me quickly! 🐈 My schedule is flexible and I work mostly from home, so I can usually fit pet care around my day quite easily. I’m available weekdays and sometimes weekends, mornings, afternoons and evenings, and I’m happy to help with last-minute bookings too. I have a car and can travel around 10 minutes from Pontcanna/Canton. I’ll always follow your pet’s usual routine and any instructions you leave - every animal is different. I’m very aware of my surroundings, especially out on walks, and good at reading animals and adapting to what they need. I’m there for them, not the other way around. About: I was lucky enough to have my gorgeous beagle, Alfie, by my side for nearly 15 years, and he really was my best friend. Having him gave me such a love for dogs and I genuinely miss having that four legged companion! I absolutely love spending time with dogs, whether that’s getting out for a good walk, having some company at home, or simply giving them plenty of fuss and attention. I’m not in a position to have another dog of my own at the moment, so dog walking and sitting feels like the perfect way for me to still enjoy having dogs in my life. About: I’ve owned dogs for over 20 years, mainly sighthounds, and smaller breeds, I grew up with Jack Russells, so caring for dogs has always been a big part of my life. I have looked after friends and family's dogs and cats, who regularly trust me to walk, feed, and look after their pets, whether that’s for daily care, overnight stays, or longer periods in both my home and theirs. I genuinely love animals and focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and happy. I’m reliable, and both my partner and I are trustworthy, and treat every dog as if they were our own, ensuring they feel loved and well cared for while you’re away. I work full time from Mon-Fri and work arranged days at the office and my partner is a freelancer who works from home and can be very flexible with his schedule, according to his calendar and pet sitting arrangements. I have an eclosed fenced garden with no back access, I have a front gate and friendly neighbours. I have a very animal friendly home and have looked after dogs of most ages, they are treated as if they are home from home, with parks nearby.

About: I have a rescue cat which has been with me for 6 years. The mother of the cat abandoned her when she was only 2 weeks old so I had to feed her milk from the bottle, make sure she can do her toilet properly and keep her warm while she was going to sleep. Alongside that I have looked after several other animals such as tortoises, birds and dogs. I’m the happiest when I’m around animals. I just finished my 1st year in Cardiff uni so I’m mainly free to take care of your little ones as home sits or in the afternoons. Regardless of whether your pet is well trained or not I would like you to know that I won’t be letting them off the lead throughout their time with me. I will make sure to keep you updated during the time they’re with me through photos and videos. I will make sure they get good exercise and their safety/happiness would be at the forefront of my mind at all times.

About: I’ve grown up with both dogs and cats all my life. My 13 year old cat Izzie passed away last year and I haven’t been in a position to get another pet just yet. Please let me spend quality time with your babies as I am missing having a furry friend around. I live with my partner and together we would care for your pet, as we have for many friend’s pets over the years. I work for the NHS Monday - Friday but work from home every Friday, with flexibility to do so some other days too. I finish work at 4.30pm so am home all evening. My partner often comes home for lunch throughout the day, so there is unlikely to be long periods where your pet will be left alone. Our weekends are fully flexible. I live with my partner on a third floor flat. Although we have no garden, we are both very active and enjoy spending time outdoors. We live a 2 minute walk from Roath Park! Our flat is calm, clean and a safe space for pets to feel comfortable. We would welcome pets on the furniture and the bed.

I’ve looked after friends’ and family’s dogs many times and always love spending time with them (and never want to leave because they’re just too cute!).
