“Lisa was friendly and cared for Mickey really well. Gave him his meds without issue and made sure he was well fed and watered. She gave him plenty of cuddles and kept me updated. I will definitely be using her again when needed!”

“Christy is a fantastic sitter, caring and friendly, and happy to send updates to let me know everything is fine. She took time to get to know my cat before her first visit so he was relaxed around her, and when I got home everything was perfect. Thank you!”

“Jui did a great job looking after my cat Tilly, she was reliable and accomodating, she took good care of Tilly and I'm very pleased with the whole experience and will definitely ask for her help again in the future :)”
“Mireia saved our holiday after our friend pulled out from cat sitting last minute. From the meet and greet, we felt completely at ease . She’s warm, easy to talk to and very personable. One of our cats is a bit shy, but Mireia was super patient and let her come to her in her own time. She has an obvious understanding of cats, and ours warmed to her straight away!. While we were away, she went above and beyond. She spotted an issue with our automatic feeder - let us know, and made sure the cats never missed a meal. She also spent lots of time playing with them, keeping them company and giving them cwtches. The updates were great, lots of photos and detailed messages that allowed us to really enjoy our time away with no worries about the cats. We came home to two very happy cats. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Mireia obviously loves and cares about animals, and we’re so glad we had someone so kind to look after our cats. Will 100000% book Mireia again.”

About: I have a rescue cat which has been with me for 6 years. The mother of the cat abandoned her when she was only 2 weeks old so I had to feed her milk from the bottle, make sure she can do her toilet properly and keep her warm while she was going to sleep. Alongside that I have looked after several other animals such as tortoises, birds and dogs. I’m the happiest when I’m around animals. I just finished my 1st year in Cardiff uni so I’m mainly free to take care of your little ones as home sits or in the afternoons. Regardless of whether your pet is well trained or not I would like you to know that I won’t be letting them off the lead throughout their time with me. I will make sure to keep you updated during the time they’re with me through photos and videos. I will make sure they get good exercise and their safety/happiness would be at the forefront of my mind at all times.
“Tom was great with our recent rescue and nervous cat Phoebe - very reliable, and sent daily updates and photos (and even put the bins out for us!). Absolutely would not hesitate to recommend and use again :)”

“Rhiannon looked after our little lady while we were away for a few night. She was so amazing with her, gave us plenty of updates and really made us feel completely at ease. Rhiannon even washed up some of our vases that we had forgotten about and took out the bin, which was the most amazing surprise to come home to! Absolute super star”

“This is the second time Rhosyn has looked after our cat Inca, and once again Rhosyn was brilliant. Really good contact and updates, and we came back to a happy cat who had been well fed and well looked after.”

About: Hi! I’m Kayleigh and have always been a massive dog lover! I have a 6 year old Sprocker Spaniel called Rex who means the absolute world to me, so I really do understand how hard it is to trust somebody else with your precious doggo’s! So please be assured that your dog would be in the best hands and I would hand on heart treat them as my own. Rex is well exercised and has plenty of enrichment throughout the day and your dog would also get this if this suits your dogs needs, along with lots of love and affection of course! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to drop me a message :) I have previously been a trusted dog carer on Rover but took a break due to work commitments, but now that I have more flexibility I would love to have some extra dog company again! When I work, I work from home so your dog would never be left on their own and I am able to walk and keep your doggo’s entertained throughout the day! I have a reasonable sized garden which is fenced. There are some local parks nearby for walks, however I also drive so tend to venture to new places as much as possible!
“Kaye has been very patient and kind looking after ojr shy and nervous dog Winnie. She has kept me up to date with photos and messages. I would definitely recommend her to others!”

About: Hello, I'm Fionn! I live in Cardiff Bay with my partner and am very lucky to work from home 5 days a week, which means I've got plenty of time and love to give to your pets! I've grown up around dogs and have been caring from them my whole life - I really love spending my time with animals. I have experience in house/pet sitting, dog walking, home visits, and doggy day care. Whether it's a quick visit or a longer stay, I always enjoy getting to know each dog's personality and making sure they feel safe, happy & at ease. I've looked after all kinds of dogs: big, small, puppies, seniors, energetic, laid-back. I'm also comfortable in walking / looking after more than one pet at a time. Although we live in an apartment, if you require boarding for your pet, we have access to a large communal garden and lots of lovely nearby spots for walks including river paths and open fields. I will ensure your pet has adequate toilet breaks and fresh air, as I work from home and take frequent breaks myself. I am happy to do multiple walks a day and will always stick to your routine as much as possible. I'm not at a stage where I can commit to getting a pet of my own right now as I want to travel for a few more years, so I'm trying to take every opportunity to care for others' pets in the meantime! You can expect regular updates and lots of cute pics too, I'll treat your pet like my own :) I work from home Monday to Friday and work flexible hours. I am happy to do walks and home visits throughout the day, and can work from elsewhere if an overnight stay is required. I will care for your pets as if they are my own, and exactly how you instruct me to. They'll receive lots of love and attention, and I will ensure their safety at all times. I will communicate with you as frequently as you like, and send lots of cute pics of your pet :)

“Jake was fabulous. He went above and beyond to care for our cat, Luna over the holiday period. If you are looking for an attentive cat sitter with experience, Jake is your best option! Thank you so much again. 🥰”

“Lula always does a wonderful job taking care of Bobbin. She always makes sure he’s happy, comfortable, and well looked after. We especially appreciate the regular updates she sends—they really put our minds at ease and let us see just how much love and attention Bobbin is getting while we’re away. It’s clear she genuinely cares, and that makes all the difference. We’re so thankful we found Lula and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to any pet owner looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy pet sitter.”

“Molly took perfect care of my cat while I was away for the week. She was reliable, relaxed and kind and she even fitted in an extra visit at very short notice when I got delayed on my return journey. Wonderful cat sitter.”

“Nikki was great, we had to book very last minute and that wasn't a problem at all. Nikki was very good at communicating, keeping us informed about our cat and sent us a picture during her visit which we really appreciate. We will definitely be in touch for future visits 👌”

“Lloyd has been absolutely amazing taking care of my dog. He was so patient and understanding of my pet's needs and adapted to his personality and quirks. He communicated promptly and was flexible with timings and activities The updates were thorough and we even had a sweet photo at the end. I would absolutely work with Lloyd again as my dog also was thrilled to see him every time Lloyd walked through the door. Without doubt the best part of my dog's day. Thank you Lloyd, will be in touch for future bookings!”

“Emma and Josh have been incredible and looked after our babies so well. We got regular updates and lots of photos. They put our mind at ease being away and we will definitely be booking them for future holidays. Thank you so much!”

“Alicia has been amazing with Skye. She is reliable, responds quickly to messages, and has been so patient with my anxious dog. She really takes the time to make Skye feel comfortable and doesn’t just pop in and leave, she spends quality time playing with her and giving her lots of attention. It gives me real peace of mind knowing Skye is safe, happy and well cared for whenever I’m not there. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Alicia to anyone looking for someone who genuinely cares about their pet. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

Rhiannon was so lovely and accommodating, she made sure Loki was cleaned out and fed and sent photos following each visit. It was so reassuring to know Loki was getting what he needed whilst I was away, i will definitely use you again in the future thank you so much 😊

Annie was an absolute dream of a cat sitter! From the very beginning, her communication was stellar—we received daily, detailed updates and lovely photos that gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. She is remarkably organized, meticulously following all feeding schedules and routine instructions without missing a beat. What truly set Annie apart, however, was her warm and caring nature. Our cat is notoriously shy and usually hides from strangers, but Annie’s patient, gentle approach won her over in no time. By the second day, our sweet cat was coming out for treats and head scratches! We couldn’t have asked for a more trustworthy, thoughtful, and reliable sitter. We will definitely be booking Annie again and cannot recommend her highly enough!

We're so happy to have found Molly to visit our cat when we go away. She is happy to pop in, change litter and even had the tricky task of administering last minute eye drops when our cat developed an eye ulcer. Nothing is too much trouble and I would recommend her every time. Thanks again Molly xx

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cardiff choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
