“Lisa was amazing! She kept us updated daily on how Remy was plus fab photos of him too! Came home to a very happy kitten and a lovely clean kitten area as well. About: Although never professionally involved in the pet care industry, I’ve grown up with dogs and cats, all with different personalities! Within my village, I walked dogs for many families, including a few home stays when needed. Being a pet lover, I know the joy a single walk brings to our pets. I will help you love your furry friends when your schedule does not allow you! I am currently an international student, only in two days a week. I am fairly flexible in my routine after Monday and Tuesday. I have developed a routine to complete my school/daily tasks, allowing me to now incorporate other priorities. In a pet owner’s home, I stick closely to their routine so pets feel safe and comfortable. I follow feeding, walking, and medication instructions carefully, provide plenty of attention and exercise, keep the space clean, and send updates if wanted!

“Jake was fabulous. He went above and beyond to care for our cat, Luna over the holiday period. If you are looking for an attentive cat sitter with experience, Jake is your best option! Thank you so much again. 🥰”

About: I have a rescue cat which has been with me for 6 years. The mother of the cat abandoned her when she was only 2 weeks old so I had to feed her milk from the bottle, make sure she can do her toilet properly and keep her warm while she was going to sleep. Alongside that I have looked after several other animals such as tortoises, birds and dogs. I’m the happiest when I’m around animals. I just finished my 1st year in Cardiff uni so I’m mainly free to take care of your little ones as home sits or in the afternoons. Regardless of whether your pet is well trained or not I would like you to know that I won’t be letting them off the lead throughout their time with me. I will make sure to keep you updated during the time they’re with me through photos and videos. I will make sure they get good exercise and their safety/happiness would be at the forefront of my mind at all times.
“Poppy looked after our dog Bobby at short notice and did a fab job of keeping us updated with messages and pictures so we felt reassured. Bobby clearly had a good time with her so would definitely recommend.”

“Martha is so lovely, Meg instantly took to her as she obviously adores dogs. Could not have asked for anyone better and we had total confidence in her. Thank you so much Martha we will definitely use you again if we come to Cardiff.”

About: I’ve taken care of cats and dogs, specifically cats, between the ages of about 8-18! I’ve also helped with newborn bulldog puppy and kitten care, including overnight feedings, playtimes and toilet breaks. I’m currently studying full time at uni, but my campus is easily accessible and my schedule is very much self-made, as it’s all coursework and art based! As someone who has three bulldogs at home, one whom has many health issues, making adjustments to support their needs was especially important! Coming from a family who own a dog-walking field, and are trained in dog health and safety, I know at least the basics of caring for your pet!
“Bianca kept me updated daily on how Molly and Flo were, 2 cats with very different personalities. She looked after them well. I would definately recommend her will be asking her to look after Molly and Flo in the future.”

I understand how important regular updates are, so I’ll always keep you informed with photos and messages for complete peace of mind. My goal is simple: to make your pet feel happy, secure, and loved while you’re away, so you can travel knowing they’re in safe hands. I have a flexible work schedule, which allows me to adapt to your pet’s needs whenever possible. Whether you need regular visits, weekend care, or last-minute bookings, I’ll do my best to accommodate your schedule. I understand that plans can change, and I’m happy to be flexible when needed to ensure your pet receives reliable, consistent care. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, preferences, and any special requirements so they can feel as relaxed as possible while you’re away. I’ll also provide regular updates and photos, so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in safe and caring hands.
About: I am a cheerful, energetic, and huge animal lover who naturally connects with pets. While I don’t currently own a pet of my own, I have plenty of hands-on experience caring for them. I have looked after a Whippet, golden retrievers, Shiba Inu. so I’m well-versed in handling high-energy dogs that love a good run, and I’ve also regularly cat-sat a lovely Garfield cat, which taught me all about giving felines their space while keeping them perfectly pampered. I have endless patience and treat every pet with the utmost care and attention. I can't wait to give your furry family members a safe, happy, and loving environment while you're away! I maintain a flexible part-time schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of quality time to your pets. I am easily available for house sitting, ensuring their routines remain perfectly consistent. When staying at your home, I strictly follow your house rules and pet routines. “Lloyd has been absolutely amazing taking care of my dog. He was so patient and understanding of my pet's needs and adapted to his personality and quirks. He communicated promptly and was flexible with timings and activities The updates were thorough and we even had a sweet photo at the end. I would absolutely work with Lloyd again as my dog also was thrilled to see him every time Lloyd walked through the door. Without doubt the best part of my dog's day. Thank you Lloyd, will be in touch for future bookings!”

About: Schwmae, Alicia here! I am a highly experienced pet sitter & dog walker with 10+ years of cat ownership and expansive pet-care experience, including looking after dogs, cats, sheep, chickens and even some Icelandic horses! I have cared for amazing pets across the UK, Ireland and Germany, which has been an incredible way to travel the world, connect with new people and enjoy spending time around the most wonderful animals! Working for a local social enterprise that promotes accessible cycling has given me strong community values, excellent local knowledge, and a reliable, active lifestyle. I travel by bike whenever possible, allowing me to provide punctual, eco-conscious care for your pets. Back in Ireland I have four darling cats, all with differing personalities and needs, so I am expert in gauging pet behaviour and giving care accordingly. Under my high-standard supervision, I assure to always: -Feed pets adhering to your specific measurements, dietary requirements and allergies -Constantly provide fresh drinking water and refill frequently -Give all medicine as prescribed -Maintain all litter boxes -Give lots of love, attention and time to your pet (in a way that suits your pet best) NB - I am absolutely more than happy to meet you (and your pet) before sitting to ensure contentment and clarity between all parties - just pop me a message! Diolch ! I’m currently returning to university to complete a part-time Master’s degree over the next two years, which gives me plenty of flexibility to provide attentive, reliable care for your furry family member! At the moment, I’m completely available on Sundays and Mondays, as well as every evening during the week. I also start work at 11:00 am most weekdays, making morning walks and drop-in visits easy to accommodate. I’m hoping to reduce my working hours further in the near future, allowing me even more availability for study and pet care. I live in a spacious, pet-friendly apartment with access to a fantastic private terrace featuring a large grassy area on the rooftop. This provides a safe and convenient outdoor space where your dog can stretch their legs or your cat can enjoy some fresh air (if they're used to being outdoors and with your permission). Your pet will have plenty of space to relax, play, and feel right at home during their stay. Your pet's safety, happiness, and routine are my absolute top priorities. I provide a calm, clean, and secure environment where pets can feel comfortable and relaxed. I always follow the owner's care instructions, including feeding schedules, medication (if required), exercise, and any specific routines or preferences. I keep fresh water available at all times, supervise pets closely, and ensure they are never left in unsafe situations. During walks, I use secure leads and stay alert to the surroundings. If I'm caring for pets in your home, I will respect your property, always keep everything tidy, and provide regular photo and message updates - just so you can have peace of mind while you're away. ** I treat every pet as if they were my own, giving them plenty of attention, affection, and care (in a way that suits them best).
About: I had a family dog from the age of 8-22. I also have extensive experience walking dogs- at university I managed a voluntary dog walking group where I would walk for over 15 dogs. I also walked for 2 different dog owners since, whilst living at home. Having recently moved to Cardiff I am keen to support where and when needed- I have a car and I work flexibly from home. I can be available in the morning before 8am and anytime after 4pm Monday- Friday. I do not do overnight stays I work from home typically on Monday, Thursday and Friday meaning I am available before 8am and after 4pm. I am also free on weekends. I can also be available for lunch time walks, as I have an hour for my lunch. I am happy to have dogs in my car and work remotely from your house if needed. I am happy to accommodate with any needs your dog has, and respect your house and rules for your pet. I am an extremely reliable and trustworthy person- being responsible for a voluntary dog walking group, I had to work with vulnerable people as well as ensure my dog walkers were DBS checked, so I understand the importance of safety

Ceri was brilliant at every step of the process - easy to communicate with ahead of time and pro-active with asking questions as needed while I was away. The only downside was that she’s a far better photographer than I am 😂 10/10 - would heartily recommend booking with her.
Hannah was amazing with Jupiter and we had a lot of lovely updates to put us at ease. We asked if she could keep an eye on our garden too hoping she could save some plants in the heat for us and she went above and beyond. Hannah truly cares and you can definitely tell. ☺️
Susan is a lovely, attentive and well organised lady and I'm so glad I engaged her services as a pet sitter. She showed interest and wanted to know me and my cats from the beginning. I felt completely comfortable and at ease and she kept me updated on the visits and if my 2 very shy moggies were showing any sign of being interested in her. I was amazed and delighted to hear and see photo proof that Sparky my shy girl was waiting for her and took a treat from her. Patience and being gentle seems to have worked with one of my moggies, the other may just be harder to win round but I'm very happy, relaxed and I will definitely use her again if she's available. Thank you so much I'm happy my cats are happy.

Becky was a fabulous sitter who managed to make friends with my very shy house cat. She popped in every day and sent regular updates. This was much appreciated as she was looking after Alice during the heat wave! She reassured me that all was well and took perfect care. I highly recommend Becky.
Rhos was great looking after our 2 furbabies, keeping us updated following each visit & sending us photos / videos. Rhos was thourough learning about our cats & their routines on the pre visit & handled our shy cat really well, knowing exactly what to do to win him over in a short time - he even let Rhos giving him some fusses ☺️ Would recommend!

Rhiannon is amasing and managed to build trust with my very anxious cat Freya. During the recent hot weather she even put a bowl of ice water and damp cloths on the kitchen tile for my girls to cool down. Rhiannon is easy going and extremely responsive to messages. I highly recommend.

Louise took wonderful care of our two cats while we were on holiday, sending daily updates and photos showing how much at ease they both were with her. Particularly impressive given how fickle our girl can be, even allowing her to administer daily meds! We will absolutely come to Louise again while we’re away - thanks for putting our minds at ease and looking after Loki and Luna.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cardiff choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
