“We had to go somewhere without Toby at short notice and both our regular sitters were booked up. So I turned to Rover and found Helen. How lucky were we that she was free. It had been quite a while since I’d had to go through the process of meeting a new sitter and while Toby is very chilled about where he goes and with whom, I always get anxious about leaving him somewhere new. However when I drove up to Helen’s beautiful and calm home my mind was put at rest. Helen is lovely and obviously adores dogs. She had thought of everything needed in the very hot weather, there was a fan, a paddling pool and walks only when it was safe. Her husband and other family members are also delightful and dog focused. She sent us lots of photos of Toby having a great time with another dog who was also staying. I was relaxed the whole time I was away. I recommend Helen 100% and will definitely ask to leave Toby there again.”

About: I’m a huge dog lover and regularly help friends and family with dog sitting, walks and check-ins. I’ve often been relied on to call in to feed, play with and walk dogs while owners are away, as well as providing full day and overnight care. I’m comfortable with different breeds and personalities, including golden retrievers, spaniels, bernedoodles and schnauzers. I live right by Bute Park and go there daily for walks, so I love getting dogs out for exercise, fresh air and stimulation. I’m caring, reliable and genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and making them feel safe, happy and well looked after. I work flexibly and from home on some weekdays, so I’m able to give dogs plenty of attention throughout the day. I’d typically take dogs out for one longer walk and another shorter walk later in the day, with lots of play, company and toilet breaks in between. I may occasionally have an online meeting during the day, but usually no longer than an hour, so dogs are never left alone for long periods. I have a secure fenced garden and a large open-plan downstairs space where dogs can relax and roam comfortably. I’m happy for dogs to be on the sofa and make themselves at home. I already have dog toys, blankets, water bowls and treats from regularly looking after friends’ dogs, so I’m well set up to provide a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment. I always try to stick closely to each dog’s usual routine to help them feel relaxed and settled.

“Just picked up Barney from Emily and he is so chilled. He clearly had a wonderful time. Emily has been great. Right from the first contact she put Barney (and me) at ease with her calm manner. She sent some lovely pics during the weekend and her handover when we picked Barney up showed how attentive and caring she has been. We would definitely recommend her.”

They are responsive and we’re really happy to have a meet -up beforehand - it was Quinn’s first sleepover away from home, so we were a bit anxious, and Zhan & Lauren were very reassuring and put us at ease. We were kept updated with lovely photos & a video throughout Quinn’s stay, and Quinn clearly had a lovely time!
