“Helen did a wonderful job looking after our dog, Hollie, for a few days over Christmas. She was caring, reliable, and clearly attentive to Hollie’s needs and sending several photos of Hollie out and about on walks. We felt completely at ease knowing Hollie was in good hands, and it was clear she was well looked after and happy when we returned. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Helen and would be very happy to ask her to look after Hollie again.”

“Mac had a great time with Jack and Dexter. I will definitely be asking Jack to look after him again and would highly recommend him for boarding. Mac was relaxed and happy when I collected him.a great find on Rover”

“Another great experience with Rupert. He once again looked after our Sprocker for the weekend. Siencyn now loves going to Rupert’s as he’s best friends with his dog Cali! Rupert communicated well with updates and pictures throughout the day. We now book in regularly as Siencyn loves his stay so much!!!”

“Emily was fantastic nothing was too much trouble. She asked lots of questions about what & how to look after him & She looked after and cared for Ben so well. He was very settled & I really appreciated the photos of him whilst I was away. An excellent sitter and an asset to Rover. Thank you Emily. I would definitely use Emily again.”

“Percy had a great week with Kristina! She is fantastic at looking after our puppy and sent lots of regular photos and updates which was a real comfort for us for his first full week away. It’s the second time Percy has stayed with Kristina and we’ll definitely continue to rebook, would highly recommend! Thanks Kristina for looking after him so well ☺️”

“Paraskevi was great at accommodating a last minute request after we had a cancellation. Honestly couldn't recommend her enough, she provided lots of pictures and updates about Jamie during his stay and he was definitely treated well :)”

“These guys were great at accommodating my two for a last minute overnight stay. Despite starting off nervous my big girl and little miss had a fabulous time, and I think they're looking forward to more playtimes with max and jimbo in the future :)”

“Banjo and I had a good meeting with Jackson a few days prior to the stay. I was really happy with both the affection and the interest that Jackson showed in Banjo. Whilst Banjo stayed with Jackson, he updated me with messages and pictures during the short stay. I would definitely be happy to use Jackson for Banjo again in the future.”

“Sophie looked after Ted and his sister at quite short notice. Sophie was fab in all aspects of the planning and visit and we will definitely use her again. We were keen to arrange a visit before their stay and Sophie was able to accommodate this. Sophie was lovely with us and the dogs and listened and was eager for info to make the stay go as well as possible. We were really happy to leave them with Sophie as she quickly understood their personality and their needs, rather than imposing her approach / rules on their them. Thanks Sophie.”
“Emily was really helpful in the run up to having our retriever to stay, and I could tell our dog felt comfortable the minute she walked into her house so we'd definitely use her again. Thank you!”

“The absolute best dog sitters you could ask for. Elle and Tom looked after Oggie on our wedding day last Saturday. We met before-hand and it was immediately clear they are 100% the biggest dog lovers and the right people for the job! They came and picked him up just after the ceremony on the day which helped out so much. Honestly they are both wonderful people who were fantastic with our big boy! 10/10 I would recommend any day. THANK YOU.”

“Minnie once again has come away happily from being looked after by Stephen and his wife. We had regular updates through her 2 night stay. I was a little surprised that another dog was there, as the profile says one pet owner at a time. Although the dogs had a disagreement, Stephen handled this well by keeping them separate. I would definitely book Stephen again, ensuring next time that only one dog will be there. Thank you!”

“Rhian looked after my two dogs with upmost care, it can be hard to find someone trustworthy and who can understand the unique ways of two very different dogs. She worked around the hot weather to ensure they were walked at the coolest points of the day and sent photos and updates. I would feel confident leaving my boys in her capable hands again and would recommend her to anyone looking for a quiet home boarding environment.”

“I couldn’t recommend Joshua enough, I’ve had a few people on this app watch my Dog in the past and Joshua is amazing and kept me up to date with photos everyday. I have never felt more relaxed leaving Cocoa with a sitter. I can’t rate him enough! He is a lovely guy and very relaxed! I will defo be using Josh again in the future 10/10! P.S. I’m glad Cocoa behaved for you and by the sounds of it he had a fabulous time!”

On these four days, I have no other commitments so I will prioritise your pet from morning until night. Whether that’s playtime, walks, feeding or cleaning. They will have me all to themselves ☺️ I have a decent sized fenced garden with real grass and an open plan downstairs. I am happy for them to have free roam of the house or if you’d prefer, I can crate them at bed times as to not disrupt their routine you’ve set for them. “It was so great to meet Sucheta, Aneesh and Chickoo, and they took amazing care of Bruno! He had the best time and I don't think he wanted to leave! The whole process was great, with regular communication and Sucheta and Aneesh are both very professional and loving dog carers (and Chickoo is the loveliest dog and very friendly as well!), I'd really recommend :)”

First time Dig has stayed with anyone other than us for 5 years and he loved it by the look of the excellent picture updates we received. Lisa was outstanding to deal with and truly cares about her dogs and those that she cares for. Lisa was a pleasure to deal with and explained everything as we were first timers. Dug will definitely be going back on his holidays to Lisa x
Hannah was great looking after our little dog Paddy! Gave us updates, communicative on the whole and was flexible in when we could pick him up. We picked up a clearly happy and relaxed dog the next day so no doubt he was well looked after. Would definitely rebook 😊

Meg and Evie went from a home to a home and settled quickly especially with the help of Jack’s 2 dogs! Evie takes a while to trust but she was a fully fledged member of the family by the end of the week. We are very grateful for your treating them as your own whilst we were away❤️❤️❤️ Thank you 🤗

Elizabeth is such a fantastic dog sitter! She was ideal for my elderly dog, Ruby. I am really glad I found her. She was looking after Ruby for 4 weeks (during this period there were 2 heatwaves). Ruby has the usual problems that come with age, including some kidney problems, needs to take medication and needs to feel safe and loved. Elizabeth provided such a safe and loving environment. She made sure that Ruby was comfortable throughout, cooked for her, made sure she took the medicine, stayed with her and made her feel at home. Elizabeth also set photos and messages every day and it was obvious that Ruby was very happy. Indeed, when I came to collect Ruby it was obvious that they had bonded and I am now looking for opportunities to have Ruby stay with Elizabeth more often. Right from the beginning I felt that Elizabeth was extremely good with elderly dogs (she has experience with them) and she is super responsible and responsive. I could trust her completely, which was a great relief. I feel really lucky to have found her. Ruby and I had never been separated for longer than 8 days, so this could have been a very difficult time, ut Ruby was so obviously happy and cared for. Thank you!
Susan and Gary were fantastic with Nolan. They looked after him really well and kept us updated every day. They asked lots of questions to understand Nolan’s specific needs and kindly accommodated his separation anxiety. The weekend Nolan stayed with them was really hot and they were really careful with walking him early in the morning and keeping him cool. It looks like he had a really great time, including lots of cuddles. Thank you for taking care of our boy! 🐶🥰

Skye is lovely, she looked after our elderly dachshund for the day and Rusty seemed very settled and happy in her care. Great communication and attention to detail. Would highly recommend Skye to other dog owners and would definitely rebook with her, many thanks :))

Sucheta is an amazing sitter, she looked after my puppy very well. She sent me pictures of him and gave me constant updates on his day and what they are doing. I felt at rest and I did not have to worry about my puppy’s well being. Her dog Chico became friends with my puppy too😊

Diane was fantastic with our dog jasper. She clearly just loves to have animals around and she really looked after him well. She catered for the heat excellently and even took jasper out for late night walks so he didn't go without exercise. Would highly recommend!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
