“Once again thank you and your lovely family for looking after Bo for us. He likes it there so much he didn't want to leave again. This is the second time Bo has stayed with you and he always comes home happy and chilled out. I suspect he loves being spoilt by your two daughters. Good luck with the new puppy. Thanks again Kevin and Gina”

“Julie was an excellent pooch sitter for our nervous chihuahua. He INSTANTLY loved Julie, she has a calm and nurturing demeanour and our dog was at ease the moment she opened the door (where usually he is quite nervous with people he has never met before). Julie was excellent to communicate with, she was happy to meet our dog at her home for us to ensure that he was acquainted with her and felt comfortable, we felt very confident to leave our dog with her following this visit, her home is secure and homely; a home from home for your pet’s visit. Thank you for taking the best care of our pooch Julie, he returned home content and calm and visibly well cared for. I highly recommend Julie to take care of your pet. I will definitely be booking our pooch in for a stay with Julie again in the future. Thank you Julie.”

“Waffles had a fantastic time at day care, he loved playing with another dog and I had updates too. Bronwen was very professional and I had no worries leaving him in her care, I look forward to him staying for boarding as I know he will be well looked after.”

“Fab experience with Mandy from start to finish, quick replies setting up meet and greet to meet my dog to start, meet and greet went really good, Mandy showed me around her home and talked a little about her routine would be. Communication continued after meet and greet, then when booking came, Mandy was in contact to arrange times etc. Communication all weekend with pictures and videos of my dog. Would definetly recommend!”

“Neil recently looked after our senior springer spaniel for a week and we can honestly say, from the moment we meet Neil before Pheobes stay, we knew we made the right decision and she would be in the perfect hands. We received photos and updates and Neil was so accommodating it really put our minds at ease that our girl was having the best time! She had the run of the house and was treated like a princess. She had week of plenty of love and walks. I cannot recommend mend Neil enough if you’re looking for a home from home stay for your pet, then this is the prefect sitter for you. We will 100% be using Neil in the future and will also be recommending him to our friends and family! Thank you so much Neil and family for taking the best care of Pheobe.”

“Amazing from start, communication prior to, and during boarding was fantastic. Melanie so thoughtful, flexible and helpful throughout, Our dog had a great holiday, we were so reassured, especially as first time for us to be away from her, and she not had huge social experiences. The daily updates and photos were so appreciated. Will definitely be visiting again”

“I recently had the pleasure of using Caitlin as a dog boarding sitter, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the experience! The booking process was incredibly smooth and user-friendly, which set a positive tone right from the start. A few days after booking, we had a meet and greet where my fur babies could get acquainted with Caitlin and explore her cozy home. Caitlin’s warm and friendly demeanor immediately put me at ease. She took the time to listen carefully to my needs and preferences for my dogs, ensuring that they would be well cared for during their stay. I appreciate how attentive she was to their individual personalities and requirements. Throughout their stay, Caitlin provided regular updates on how my dogs were doing, which really reassured me that they were happy and comfortable. One of the standout aspects of my experience with Caitlyn was her flexibility. On checkout day, she kindly offered that I could pick my dogs up at any time that worked for me since she was home all day. This thoughtful gesture made the process so much easier for me, and I truly appreciated her accommodating nature. Overall, I highly recommend Caitlyn for anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. She went above and beyond to make sure my fur babies were safe, happy, and well-loved during their stay. It's such a shame that we're moving abroad, but if we ever return to Wales, I will definitely book with Caitlyn again in the future. Thank you so much, Caitlyn!”

“: Before leaving Molly with Karen for the first time, I was quite anxious as she has always stayed with family. From the moment we met, Karen put me completely at ease with her warm and caring nature. Throughout Molly’s stay, Karen kept us updated with regular photos and videos, which was so reassuring and showed just how much fun Molly was having. It was clear she was happy, well cared for, and treated like one of the family. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Karen to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. I will definitely be using her services again in the future. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“We have had a brilliant experience with Beata! This was our first time using this website after only using Kennels in the past, and our dog has thrived during his weekend with Beata! Beata was friendly, caring and attentive with regular updates and pictures. We were unsure how our dog would be with other dogs but Beata is clearly a natural with introducing them and ensuring they are happy. We had an early start and return and Beata was able to collect and drop Alfie back to our home. Alfie came home well cared for, content and sleepy after plenty of playing and walks. Thank you so much Beata, Alfie clearly had a great time with you and we are so grateful. We would 100% book again in the future, and also highly recommend to our friends and family ⭐️”

“Abigail and Jose hosted our rescue pup for a trial night which was his first time staying away from home since we’ve had him. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
