About: I've always had animals growing up varying from cats and dogs to hamsters and fish so I understand the care and trust required to taking care of them. I have taken care of animals with my family from a young age including cat and dog sitting as well as daily check ins, socialising and feeds. Most recently I have been on standby for relatives pets when I'm available, usually during school holidays however decided that it's time to offer my services to the wider community. I have had experience training two of my own puppies as well as providing senior care to my relatives dog when sitting, including providing medication. Typically in term time, I am a teacher meaning my availability shortens to evenings and weekends however from June - September I work from home and can therefore be flexible to work around what's best for you and your pet. During school holidays my availability will become larger rather than being evening and weekend based. I'm currently working on a zero hour contract therefore my weekly schedule is super flexible as I work from home. I have my own dog so tend to take him out twice a day alongside a morning and evening feed with lots of playing in between! Due to my flexibility I can work around your schedule to ensure your furry friends are cared for. I am happy to come over for a home visit prior to your first booking to meet yourselves as well as your pet(s) to ensure they have a level of familiarity with me upon the first time we go on a walk or pop in for a visit. This allows you to see how comfortable your pet(s) will be in my company for peace of mind along side allowing me to gain any information from you such as feed times / amounts / walking routes your pet is most comfortable with or toys they enjoy playing with the most.
“Robert followed my instructions perfectly, kept me well updated, and took very good care of my beloved cat, Diego. Thank you for being so attentive, Rob! I’ll be booking Rob again in the future.”

About: "Teacher and lifelong owner of two happy cats. Highly experienced with local neighborhood drop-ins, feeding schedules, and keeping pets safe, loved, and well-cared for." "As a teacher on summer break between 27th July and 1st September, I have full, uninterrupted availability from 7am to 9pm daily. This means I can easily fit into your pet's exact routine, whether they need an early morning walk, a midday check-in, or a late evening feeding." "I care for pets exclusively in your own home within a 5-mile radius, ensuring they stay safe and stress-free in their familiar environment. As a trustworthy teacher, I strictly follow your specific feeding, medication, and locking-up routines, while providing plenty of love, updates, and attention during my visits."
About: I've taken care of dogs my whole life as we've always had one as a family pet. I've also taken friends and neighbours dogs for walks along with dog sitting them. I always make a lovely bond and always make sure all animals are well looked after as they are more family than animals Pet care becomes a natural part of my own daily rhythm it’s woven into my schedule almost like clockwork. Here’s how it typically fits in: Morning: Wake-up nudge: Your dog might be your alarm clock. First task? A quick potty break or walk. Feeding time: You prep their breakfast while maybe grabbing your own. Grooming check: A quick brush, paw check, or wiping off muddy paws if needed. Midday: Exercise/play: Whether you're on a lunch break or home during the day, this is a chance to stretch legs and play fetch or tug. Mental stimulation: Maybe a puzzle toy, a training session, or even just some one-on-one time. Evening: Walk or play session: A wind-down activity that burns off energy. Feeding and clean-up: Dinner and water refill, along with any tidying up. Affection/cuddles: Pets need emotional care, too. This could be snuggle time on the couch while you relax. Before Bed: Bathroom break: One last trip outside. Health checks: You might slip in a quick ear check, teeth brushing, or meds if needed. I have a fenced off garden front and back due to having my own dogs with a side gate, dogs will not get out alone
“Shannen was great when she came to drop in on my puppy and adult miniature dachshund. They both loved her when she came for the meet and greet. She asked about the needs of both dogs and gave them attention, play time and a small walk.”

“Laura has had my dog a few times now, from overnight to pop in visits. I was very worried at due to never have left him with anyone other than family. Arlo now loves seeing Laura and I would highly highly recommend Laura as she is great with dogs. keeps you updated through the day with info and pictures etc! no reason to use anyone else going forward!”

“Katy has been incredible from start to finish. Very friendly and amazing. Felt very comfortable trusting her with Judo and she kept me updated as much as possible which is greatly appreciated. 10/10 would definitely recommend! Would definitely book again when I next go away. 😊”

About: I’m Tia, I have my own dog who is a beagle and he loves other dogs. Beagles are quite naughty so I’m experienced with naughty dogs!😂 I’m happy to look after or walk any dog/ cat of any size. We have a nice size garden for your dog to explore in and have fun! If your Dog is staying over, they will be allowed to sleep anywhere they want as our dog doesn’t sleep in a cage. But if you wanted your dog to be in a cage at night, that’s totally fine. I absolutely adore animals and I’d be more than happy to meet and look after yours! If your dog doesn’t like other dogs, I’d be able to do the dog walking service, house sitting and drop in services but not any at our house with our dog.
About: I’m certified in canine CPR and have hands-on experience with enrichment techniques and dog care products from a previous role in pet retail. I’ve also spent time walking and sitting dogs for friends and family, giving me a solid understanding of different breeds, behaviors, and routines. I always aim to create a calm, engaging environment that supports each dog’s individual needs. I’m currently working 4 days a week free most evenings and often have long weekends or 3 days completely off in the week. Flexible work pattern and free time for sitting etc. Safety is my number one priority, I will not take any risks whilst taking care of your furr baby, double check and be sure everything is carried out safely and properly.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
