About: We are a retired couple living in Bridgend. We have had dogs all our lives, however unfortunately, we recently lost our beloved Tilly. We are unable to commit to a pet full time, so hoping to help others by inviting theirs to stay with us. We are retired and are home a lot during the day. We are able to go on long walks, down the beach or to our local field. We have a lot of time on our hands, so would love to bring in a new sense of life to our home with your pets keeping us company. We have a closed garden, bungalow where we both live. We do not have children or other pets and are non smokers. We can offer what is required, including administering medication where needed. I was actually a carer for many years, so know the importance of being specific with requirements.

“Danielle jumped in last minute to look after our 5 cats one of which needs medication. She provided updates and photos and checked in to let us know how they were all doing. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Danielle and we will definitely be using her services again in the future. Thanks Danielle, your caring for our cats put our minds at rest.”

“Adam has been fantastic since the second we reached out to him. The gremlins absolutely love him. He's always responsive to messages and requests, and there is nothing he wouldn't do for the girls. We are so lucky to have found him. He also takes amazing photos!”

About: I love all animals, from the tiniest to the hugest! Dogs and cats have been part of my life since I was very small. Growing up with dogs and cats, looking after friends, family & neighbours pets while they were out, working, on holiday or ill. If I am honest, I often prefer to spend my time with furry friends than with human ones. My care and love for any animal is no different than for my own. Unfortunately I lost both of my dogs to old age over the past 2 years and miss them like crazy. My best buds. I am confident with any breed of dog, would respect any of your training rules and follow them for consistency. I have experience with medication administration and senior care. I love walking, so me and your fur baby would have the best times out & about. I would only walk one to one, never group walk, so my attention and care would be for your dog only, and so long as it was ok with your dog, there would be lots of cuddles available!! Although my profile states I have a dog, Dixie does not live with me, she lives with my Son...I am Dixie's Nanny 💖 I am also DBS checked. Use this link below (copy & paste) for £15 off a new booking for new Rover users 🤩 https://www.rover.com/sit/gillm16415 I currently work from home so have plenty of time for play dates & cuddles with your dog or cat! I love walking on the beach, in woodland areas and parks, so anywhere your dog prefers is fine with me.....we could explore new places together! If at home, we can play in or explore the garden, snuggle on the sofa for a snooze or share a treat or 2 🥰 I have a fenced garden, no pets at home and no children. My profile states I have a dog, but she lives with my Son, I am Dixie's Nanny 😍 I would absolutely following all your house rules. Your furbaby would be as safe as possible with me, I would treat them as I would my own....with love, kindness, patience and respect 🤍
“Trina is wonderful! My cat Trixie took to her right away and Trina took such good care of her while I was travelling. She took care of all the “necessary” stuff (litter, food, water), but it was the “extra mile” care that Trina provided which makes her stand out. She spent time with Trixie, patting her and even brushing her (one of Trixie’s favourite things) when she visited. I will definitely call on Trina next time I travel and I recommend her highly when you need care for your furry loved ones.”

“Yasmin was great, Murphy was a very happy cat when i got home. He had eaten all of his food and treats that Yasmin had left out for him. She followed instructions and looked after Murphy perfectly. Thank you!”

I am currently a post graduate looking to begin a career, meaning I have a lot of time to give to your pet love and attention. I have lots of availability and am free to board almost every day. I currently live in a large farmhouse surrounded by countryside, which has a large fenced garden, so plenty of room for your pet to run and play with me.

“Chloe looked after my two cats over a long weekend and was absolutely brilliant. She asked all the right questions beforehand, watched all our care videos, and kept us updated with messages and photos throughout. One of my cats is currently suffering with a skin condition which needed daily medication and care, which isn't easy. Chloe was on top of all of that and knowing this gave us real peace of mind while we were away. She handled the medication and routine really calmly, and fitted us in. Chloe communicated really well and proactively throughout. Both cats took to her straight away, which tells you everything. She left everything really clean and tidy, and we came home to two happy, settled cats. We'd book Chloe again without hesitation. Thank you Chloe!”

“Jason was looking after our 2 cars for a week during our holiday. He was regularly in touch with updates and photos. I have asked if he could kindly water veg in my greenhouse twice but he happily watered the entire garden including all plants/flowers/ all other vegetables ( it’s a big garden so it doesn’t take 5 mins) several times without asking for any additional money. He was very affectionate and caring with the cats, treating them as if they were his own. He had to deal with a dead mouse my cat decided to catch and even took care of an injured pigeon she caught one day and took it to the vet. This shows how compassionate he is with ALL animals. We will always choose Jason to care for our cats in the future. We cannot recommend him highly enough.”

About: Have experience of various pets: cats, dogs, guinea pigs, tortoises, stick insects. Elderly animals. Did work experience placement at Centre for Life Studies, London Zoo. I currently work full time, Monday to Friday, but am being made redundant in May, so will be available full time from 8th May onwards. I will be looking after pets in their own home. About: We always had pets at home (from fish to dogs) and I have always been happy to look after my friends and colleages' little ones :) both at my parents when I was younger, later at mine, or at the pet's own place more recently. I've never had any incident to report. I would love to adopt a dog but I can't have pets where I live, sadly. I love to be outdoors and I miss my big dog's company when I go around. There is a lot to explore aroud here... I can take dogs to the beach, the mountain or even to the safari! Wouldn't be the first time and it was great :) Usully available in the afternoons/evenings but I've got no set routine right now so it will be on a day by day basis, please get in touch and see if I can help :) It will depend on each pet and what they need & like, but will always treat them with love and respect. I can easily accomodate activities, just let me know what they like or dislike and any routines or training you're following, so I will do accordingly.
“Thank you so so much Amber! Elvis loved his visits from you and you were so easy to deal with and make arrangements. Nothing was too much trouble … even a very excitable boy! Would definitely recommend! :)”

About: I've loved animals for as long as I can remember and have spent much of my life caring for dogs, cats and other pets belonging to family, friends and neighbours. What sets me apart is the way I approach each animal as an individual. Some dogs want to march up the mountain at full speed, some prefer a slower wander with plenty of sniffing and exploring, and some simply need a calm, reassuring presence. I enjoy getting to know their personalities and adapting my care to what makes them feel safe, happy and understood. I'm reliable, patient and attentive, and I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. Whether it's a walk, a drop-in visit, companionship while you're away, or overnight care, I treat every animal with kindness, respect and genuine affection. I have experience with dogs and of different ages, sizes and temperaments, and I'm comfortable following feeding routines, administering simple medications, using specific leads or equipment, and maintaining any training or house rules you already have in place. My goal is simple, to make sure your pet is well cared for, enjoys their time with me, and comes home (or stays home) happy and content. Pet care is a central part of my week and I structure my schedule to ensure the animals in my care receive the time, attention and consistency they need. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, companionship visits, pet sitting and overnight stays. I aim to keep my diary manageable so that every pet receives individual attention rather than being rushed from one booking to the next. I am flexible where possible and happy to discuss regular or occasional care depending on your needs. I understand how important routines can be for animals, so I do my best to maintain familiar feeding, walking and rest schedules to help them feel secure and settled. The safety, wellbeing and happiness of every pet is my priority. Before providing care, I take time to understand each animal's personality, routine, preferences, training, health needs and any specific instructions you would like followed. Whether caring for pets in their own home or taking dogs for walks, I aim to create a calm, positive and secure experience. I pay close attention to lead requirements, recall ability, interactions with other dogs, feeding routines, medications and any behavioural considerations. I know that trusting someone with your beloved pet is a big decision, so I always treat animals, homes and personal information with care, respect and professionalism. I am also happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is safe and well cared for.

Danielle jumped in last minute to look after our 5 cats one of which needs medication. She provided updates and photos and checked in to let us know how they were all doing. Sarah was very friendly and welcoming when she came and met our little cat Tokyo. We had updates every evening, which was great while away missing Tokyo. When we came back from holiday Tokyo seemed a very happy cat, and was well cared for. Will definitely be using Sarah again for our cat sitter in the future 😊

Adam took excellent care of Lilly while we were away. He provided daily updates, which were very reassuring and gave us great peace of mind that she was doing well. He was highly responsive to messages and very understanding when our plans changed and we returned home early. We would happily use Adam again in the future—thank you once again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
