“We are so glad that we have found Amy. From the very first meeting we knew that Chiquita would be in safe hands. Chiquita had an absolute ball with Amy, so much so that I think she was a bit disappointed to be going home. I can't recommend Amy highly enough and am already planning Chiquita's next stay.”

“Absolutely brilliant care! From the meet and greet to pick up. Loved the photos and messages while Harry was at his new home away from home. Highly recommend and will be booking again.”

“I can’t thank Kate and Cal enough for looking after our Whippet Ed. It was clear as soon as we picked him up how well he had been looked after. I fact I’m pretty sure he wanted to stay. Their communication whilst we were away was amazing and daily photos showed how much he was enjoying. I would 100% recommend Kate and Cal to anyone and will be booking with them again.”

“Shelbie and her family took wonderful care of our boy Cosmo with regular updates and pictures left us feeling well assured that he was having loads of fun with them They definitely went above and beyond Thank you again Shelbie so much 🌟”

“Our initial request for overnight boarding with Lauren was responded to within a very short time and booking agreed. Lauren invited us to take Eevie to meet her and to familiarise herself with where she would be staying and also an opportunity to discuss Eevie's routines. Communication was excellent throughout her stay with many photo's of Eevie and what she was getting up to throughout the day. Unfortunately, Eevie was sick while in Lauren's care and she contacted me immediately to let me know the situation and took her to the vet on our behalf (as we were over 140 miles away. I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO RECOMMEND LAUREN and would definitely look to re-book her to look after our little one again We did collect our dog early, but this was our decision. Lauren did offer to refund part of the overnight stay fee as we collected her late in the evening, but we felt that Lauren had definitely gone over and above and had certainly earned the full fee with her caring for dog.”

“Tamara and her husband Adrian were amazing looking after Minnie. We got updates every morning and sometimes in the evening. We got pictures and videos and I genuinely can't appreciate it enough! Would highly recommend and will be in touch again :) thank you!”

“Lyndsy and her family looked after our crazy labradoodle cookie for a week while we had a lovely holiday. We arranged a meet and greet to make sure everyone was happy. Their property is very dog friendly and they have plenty of good walks nearby. Throughout the week I received lots of updates of cookies day. I would highly recommend her to look after your four legged friend. We will be using her services in the future. Thank you x”

“Unfortunately one of our dogs was rather naughty during the night which hadn’t happened previously. However, the way in which Jason and Emily cared for him with kindness and compassion was brilliant. I would thoroughly recommend them and just hope that Bobby settles down and will be able to go back to them once this phase is over!”

“Honestly could fault Amie and her partner. They had Freddie for a night, last minute booking, meet and greet completed, and it was honestly so refreshing to feel so comfortable leaving your dog at someone else's house. Constant pupdates, a very happy dog, and very reasonable price. Will definitely be using Amie and her partner again.”

About: I have a lot of experience being a pet sitter through owning my dog Rio. Taking sensible care of my labrador taught me the importance of understanding a dogs needs and the safety and love they need to ensure that their a happy doggo. I am extremely patient and reliable, I care very deeply about the comfort and care that they will receive off me. Every sloppy kiss and tail wag reminds me of why they are my source of happiness 🥺 I have grown up with dogs my entire life and have learned their routines and their high energy levels! I have taken care of friends and families dogs for the longest time. Since losing my dog Rio, I have missed the love and the joy of having a dog around me constantly. Wherever Rio was, I was there too. I would love to be able to give your dog the cuddles and attention that they need and deserve🥰 🌟Meet & Greets available 🌟Updates with photos/videos I am currently free all throughout summer and I will be returning to the university of Bristol in September, but for the holidays I am able to give all my time away to pet care and companionship for your dog. Whether it is in my own home or a visit, I care for dogs by creating a safe and calm environment for them to feel as comfortable as possible in.
“Millie had great fun staying with Sian and family. Sian is a great person who sends regular updates with great photos and is so friendly and professional. Highly recommended Sian to look after your dog. Millie loves going there and enjoys tummy tickles. When we get to Sian’s house Millie doesn’t look back and goes into her house very happy. Thank you Sian. See you September. Xx”

“Danielle has been so great with Lebby, she made sure she felt safe and comfortable to approach at her own pace. Danielle and her family were very patient with Lebby, and kept her schedule as is which helped her feel much more confident and less stressed which meant she went back to her routine much faster. The updates and videos were great to put my mind at ease while I am on holiday. Thank you for taking such good care of my cat!”

“Avalon was great communicating when booking our dogs stay and fab during her stay. Ruby had a lovely stay and was sad to leave. We’d definitely book again. Thank you xx”

About: Have experience of various pets: cats, dogs, guinea pigs, tortoises, stick insects. Elderly animals. Did work experience placement at Centre for Life Studies, London Zoo. I currently work full time, Monday to Friday, but am being made redundant in May, so will be available full time from 8th May onwards. I will be looking after pets in their own home. I will ask the owner which rooms the pets are allowed in. I will ask for full details of the pets health and habits.

“I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received! From the moment we met, it was clear how kind, reliable, and genuinely passionate Mary is about animals. She took the time to understand my dog’s routine, personality, and needs, which instantly put me at ease. While I was away, I received regular updates, photos, and messages, which made such a difference and reassured me that Rosie was happy and well looked after. It was obvious Rosie felt comfortable, relaxed, and even a little spoiled! When I returned, everything was exactly as I’d hoped — a happy, healthy dog and a home that was just as I left it. I would absolutely recommend Mary to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter, and I will definitely be booking again. Thank you so much for taking such great care of my dog!”

“We did a pre stay walk with Deb, so she met our dog and was happy to have her to stay. Deb looked after our looney lab for 3 weeks. We had photos and messsges to let us know she was having fun and had regular beach walks. Deb treated her like her own, she was showered and shampooed after beach walks and had plenty of cuddles. We would definitely recommend Deb, as our dog came home happy.”

“Cerri tended to all Fins needs and went above and beyond when caring for Finley for the week. I would highly recommend Cerri as outstanding homeboarder. Fin will definitely be going back to stay with Cerri and husband. A huge thank you for looking after my boy. X”

“Can't recommend Theodora enough. She came to our hotel to stay with our dog for my husband and I to go out for a birthday dinner together. Immediately felt at ease and within seconds she had our anxious Tibetan eating out of her hand rolling over for a tummy tickle. He does not take kindly to us leaving but Theodora distracted him and he was soon calm. She even offered to come back for us to have breakfast together the following morning. I would have every confidence leaving Dougal with her again.”

“Dai is brilliant with me dog Kiwi, she loves staying there. He has a lovely home and takes such good care of her, he sends me photos and updates throughout her stay which makes me feel very calm and at ease. Have used and will continue to use again and again. Thanks a lot. Hannah & Kiwi”

Daisy had an absolutely brilliant time staying with Kate! She settled in very quickly and loved playing with the dogs. It was great to have a meet and greet as well, and I had regular updates during daisy’s stay! We will 100% be booking again for daisy, thank you so much!

Toby had his first stay with Laura last night and she was great. This was the first time he had stayed overnight with anyone other than family and he settled great, Laura put my mind at ease and kept us up to date on how he was doing and sent pictures, would definitely recommend!

Honestly could fault Amie and her partner. They had Freddie for a night, last minute booking, meet and greet completed, and it was honestly so refreshing to feel so comfortable leaving your dog at someone else's house. Constant pupdates, a very happy dog, and very reasonable price. Will definitely be using Amie and her partner again.

Vinnie had a great time with Alex and Thom. Alex sent photos and a little update each day. Vinnie is a busy boy, but he had lots of walks and fun to tire him out. He's currently still fast asleep, 3 hours after we picked him up. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Thank you :)

Jason looked after my two dogs while they were boarded with him and honestly did a fantastic job. He kept me updated constantly with messages and lots of pictures, which really put my mind at ease while I was away. It was obvious the dogs were happy, comfortable, and well cared for the whole time. I could tell he genuinely cares about animals and treats them like his own. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Jason again and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.

Cherie took care of my 4 month old puppy Bluebell - I felt comfortable leaving Bluebell, Cherie read through Bluebell’s care info and asks some additional questions and sent some photos for me too whilst I was away. Bluebell has been taken for a walk before I collected her, which was perfect because then she was sleepy for our car journey back home.

Trixie had a lovely stay with Amy and Skye. Trixie had been staying at kennels but has grown too used to her home comforts for this. Amy put our minds at ease at our first meeting, we knew Trixie would be made to feel safe, comfortable and just as well looked after as she is at home! During Trixie’s stay we received lots of updates showing what a great time Trixie was having and how she’d so easily made herself at home thanks to Amy. We’d highly recommend Amy and Trixie will be looking forward to a second visit soon!

Lauren had our two dogs for two nights and did a great job with them. They came back nice and sleepy so they clearly had plenty of exercise, she sent plenty of pictures and updates and was very communicative. She had a great setup for looking after dogs with plenty of indoor and outdoor space and plenty of toys too. Would highly recommend

Roxy loved her stay with Emma. She was happy when we left her and Emma was great in accommodating any requests we had around feeding. Emma provided regular updates and photos of Roxy during her 10 day stay which were very much appreciated. Will definitely leave Roxy with Emma next time.

Jager had an amazing stay with Alessandro and Rachel. Honestly can’t thank them enough for the communication over the time jager was with them. They both spent time to get to know jägers personality when she was there and this put me at ease and jager. She’s never been so content. I’m sure she can’t wait for her next stay as she was spoilt rotten and given alot of love. Thank you both

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
