“First overnight stay with Amy. We got lots of pictures and updates. He seemed totally relaxed. He loved chilling with Skye and he even had zoomies and ate some kibble which he NEVER does when staying in kennels! Never going back to Royvon/ for indoors again! Woohooooo!”

“Tia and her partner are very friendly, Annie loved it there, this was probably one of the most comfortable iv seen Annie with any pet sitter, lots of photos and videos and clearly she was looked after as Annie is very happy, Annie is very good at letting us know when she’s happy and comfortable somewhere and straight away she fell in love here! Have already booked another 2 nights!”

“Lyndsy and her family looked after our crazy labradoodle cookie for a week while we had a lovely holiday. We arranged a meet and greet to make sure everyone was happy. Their property is very dog friendly and they have plenty of good walks nearby. Throughout the week I received lots of updates of cookies day. I would highly recommend her to look after your four legged friend. We will be using her services in the future. Thank you x”

“Our initial request for overnight boarding with Lauren was responded to within a very short time and booking agreed. Lauren invited us to take Eevie to meet her and to familiarise herself with where she would be staying and also an opportunity to discuss Eevie's routines. Communication was excellent throughout her stay with many photo's of Eevie and what she was getting up to throughout the day. Unfortunately, Eevie was sick while in Lauren's care and she contacted me immediately to let me know the situation and took her to the vet on our behalf (as we were over 140 miles away. I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO RECOMMEND LAUREN and would definitely look to re-book her to look after our little one again We did collect our dog early, but this was our decision. Lauren did offer to refund part of the overnight stay fee as we collected her late in the evening, but we felt that Lauren had definitely gone over and above and had certainly earned the full fee with her caring for dog.”

About: I have had pets all my life. Taking care of big dogs, cats and many other small animals. I am responsible and kind, I have a clean drivers license and a willing to travel. I am often available with an empty schedule and want to spend some more time with animals and nature. I am currently a post graduate looking to begin a career, meaning I have a lot of time to give to your pet love and attention. I have lots of availability and am free to board almost every day. I currently live in a large farmhouse surrounded by countryside, which has a large fenced garden, so plenty of room for your pet to run and play with me.
About: I love all animals, from the tiniest to the hugest! Dogs and cats have been part of my life since I was very small. Growing up with dogs and cats, looking after friends, family & neighbours pets while they were out, working, on holiday or ill. If I am honest, I often prefer to spend my time with furry friends than with human ones. My care and love for any animal is no different than for my own. Unfortunately I lost both of my dogs to old age over the past 2 years and miss them like crazy. My best buds. I am confident with any breed of dog, would respect any of your training rules and follow them for consistency. I have experience with medication administration and senior care. I love walking, so me and your fur baby would have the best times out & about. I would only walk one to one, never group walk, so my attention and care would be for your dog only, and so long as it was ok with your dog, there would be lots of cuddles available!! Although my profile states I have a dog, Dixie does not live with me, she lives with my Son...I am Dixie's Nanny 💖 I am also DBS checked. Use this link below (copy & paste) for £15 off a new booking for new Rover users 🤩 https://www.rover.com/sit/gillm16415 I currently work from home so have plenty of time for play dates & cuddles with your dog or cat! I love walking on the beach, in woodland areas and parks, so anywhere your dog prefers is fine with me.....we could explore new places together! If at home, we can play in or explore the garden, snuggle on the sofa for a snooze or share a treat or 2 🥰 I have a fenced garden, no pets at home and no children. My profile states I have a dog, but she lives with my Son, I am Dixie's Nanny 😍 I would absolutely following all your house rules. Your furbaby would be as safe as possible with me, I would treat them as I would my own....with love, kindness, patience and respect 🤍

“Dexter, my 7-month-old bundle of energy, had the best time staying with Kate and Cal over the weekend! He came home absolutely played out — which is no small feat with this little whirlwind! 😄 Right from the start, he was made to feel completely at home. It really felt like a home-from-home, and I loved knowing he was allowed to settle in and make himself comfortable (which he definitely did!). Kate and Cal kept in great contact and sent through some lovely photo updates — it was so reassuring to see him happy and having fun while I was away. Thank you both for taking such brilliant care of Dexter — he’ll definitely be back for another visit!”

“Shelbie was fantastic with our dog, Kora. Before the booking, she made sure to ask everything she needed to know and even met with us ahead of time to make sure it was a good fit for everyone, which really put us at ease. While we were away, she kept us updated regularly with photos and even a video, which was so reassuring and lovely to see. It was clear that Kora was happy, comfortable, and well looked after in her care. We felt completely confident leaving Kora with Shelbie and will definitely be asking her to look after her again in the future!”

“We are very happy with Tamara. She asked us to visit beforehand so Sioned and she could meet, this reassured us. Sioned liked her immediately. We dropped Sioned off and left promptly. The daily photos and videos reassured us that Sioned was happy. We would definitely use Tamara again.”

“Jason was excellent throughout Maples stay regular updates which was super helpful and kind. Maple had a blast and played so well with rolo which was great to see. I could not have asked for a nicer professional kind person to look after my maple highly recommended thanks so much :3”

About: Have experience of various pets: cats, dogs, guinea pigs, tortoises, stick insects. Elderly animals. Did work experience placement at Centre for Life Studies, London Zoo. I currently work full time, Monday to Friday, but am being made redundant in May, so will be available full time from 8th May onwards. I will be looking after pets in their own home. I will ask the owner which rooms the pets are allowed in. I will ask for full details of the pets health and habits.
“BoAz our black Labrador loved staying with Cerri D. Lots of love attention and walkers. Cerri is a super dog sitter making sure she has all details about your furry pet and I felt very comfortable leaving BoAz with her. He is booked in again in 2 weeks for 4 nights as it’s my son’s wedding in Cirencester would recommend her to all my friends and family.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs since I was 7, so looking after them has always been a big part of my life. That’s over 17 years of walks, cuddles, playtime, and everything in between! I’ve cared for bouncy puppies who need lots of energy and training, as well as older dogs who just want comfort and patience. I think what sets me apart is how much I genuinely love spending time with dogs. I’ll always treat your pet like my own — making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I’m comfortable keeping to their routines, giving plenty of attention, and I’m happy to send photo updates so you can relax knowing they’re in good hands. Whether it’s long walks around Cardiff, chill time at home, or a little extra care for senior pups, I’ll make sure your dog is well looked after (and probably a bit spoiled with cuddles too 🐾). I work a rotating schedule, but I usually have 3–4 days off each week, which I can dedicate to walks, drop-ins, or overnight care. On those days, I’ll make sure your dog gets plenty of attention, stays on their routine, and is happy and safe. I also send updates and photos so you can relax knowing they’re well cared for. I provide attentive, loving care for pets in their own home, following the routines their owners set — whether that’s feeding, walks, playtime, or giving medication. I make sure pets feel safe, happy, and comfortable while you’re away. I also send regular photo updates so you can relax knowing your furry friend is well cared for. I’m happy to care for puppies, adult dogs, and senior dogs, and I’ll make sure every pet feels loved and looked after during my visits.
“Cherie was brilliant and so attentive to Lily’s needs. She sent regular updates and photos, which always puts my mind at ease when shes boarding. Lily was clearly well cared for and happy. Highly recommend”

“Very friendly and welcoming, Avalon made every effort to get to know Jac, his routines, likes and dislikes which was very reassuring when leaving him for the first time. Would happily ask Avalon to look after Jac again”

“Hayley was a fantastic sitter , and her dog got on really well with Angie , it was one big mistake play date! She was very accommodating and I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again!”

“Brilliant sitter. Toby and Mr Darcy thoroughly enjoyed their stay with Nicola. I was reassured by regular updates and pictures throughout their stay. Nicola is located not far from the motorway so is in an ideal position for dropping off and picking up. Will definitely book again. ??”

“I would highly recommend Sian. Our two senior Westies had a brilliant time with Sian and they were extremely well cared for. It was great to get regular photos and videos. We are very happy owners and dogs!”

Couldn’t be happier with Gill! 🥰 Colson had the best time beach adventures, lovely long walks and lots of fun. I loved getting photo updates throughout his stay too. He’s come home happy and absolutely shattered which is a brilliant sign he’s had the best time 😂🐾 So grateful to Gill for taking such lovely care of him. Will definitely be booking again! ❤️

Thank you Amy for looking after Jasper! He hadn’t been separated from all of us for 4 years, and he couldn’t have been left in more capable hands. We had photo and message updates every evening detailing how he was doing, which assured us that he was happy. Amy was very accommodating and reassuring when we had an unexpected car issue and had to find alternative methods of picking Jasper up, and Amy was very prompt in responding. Would definitely recommend!

Laura is Skye blues new best friend , she has had loads of fuss lots of nice walks and most importantly lots of cuddles . Laura has sent us updates daily which we asked for and we was away on our honeymoon and 1st time ever Skye had stayed out so really was like leaving our baby with someone . We could see that Skye was completely comfortable in her home and relaxed which also put at ease . Myself and my wife have already said next time we go away we will be asking Laura and we know Skye blue will be so happy to see her

Honestly I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter at such short notice. Lauren and Chris looked after Griffin as if he was their own, followed the information I’d sent them and let him live his best life during his stay. I couldn’t go on and on with praises but all I will say is that myself and Griffin highly recommend both Lauren and Chris for anyone who needs a sitter. Expect lots of photos whilst your pup is with them as well, which is fantastic.

Daisy had an absolutely brilliant time staying with Kate! She settled in very quickly and loved playing with the dogs. It was great to have a meet and greet as well, and I had regular updates during daisy’s stay! We will 100% be booking again for daisy, thank you so much!

Honestly could fault Amie and her partner. They had Freddie for a night, last minute booking, meet and greet completed, and it was honestly so refreshing to feel so comfortable leaving your dog at someone else's house. Constant pupdates, a very happy dog, and very reasonable price. Will definitely be using Amie and her partner again.

Vinnie had a great time with Alex and Thom. Alex sent photos and a little update each day. Vinnie is a busy boy, but he had lots of walks and fun to tire him out. He's currently still fast asleep, 3 hours after we picked him up. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Thank you :)

Jason looked after my two dogs while they were boarded with him and honestly did a fantastic job. He kept me updated constantly with messages and lots of pictures, which really put my mind at ease while I was away. It was obvious the dogs were happy, comfortable, and well cared for the whole time. I could tell he genuinely cares about animals and treats them like his own. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Jason again and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.

Cherie took care of my 4 month old puppy Bluebell - I felt comfortable leaving Bluebell, Cherie read through Bluebell’s care info and asks some additional questions and sent some photos for me too whilst I was away. Bluebell has been taken for a walk before I collected her, which was perfect because then she was sleepy for our car journey back home.

Lauren had our two dogs for two nights and did a great job with them. They came back nice and sleepy so they clearly had plenty of exercise, she sent plenty of pictures and updates and was very communicative. She had a great setup for looking after dogs with plenty of indoor and outdoor space and plenty of toys too. Would highly recommend

Roxy loved her stay with Emma. She was happy when we left her and Emma was great in accommodating any requests we had around feeding. Emma provided regular updates and photos of Roxy during her 10 day stay which were very much appreciated. Will definitely leave Roxy with Emma next time.

Jager had an amazing stay with Alessandro and Rachel. Honestly can’t thank them enough for the communication over the time jager was with them. They both spent time to get to know jägers personality when she was there and this put me at ease and jager. She’s never been so content. I’m sure she can’t wait for her next stay as she was spoilt rotten and given alot of love. Thank you both

- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
