“Tia arrived on time, took Lottie for a lovely walk and gave her tea as requested. Lots of pictures of Lottie on walk and lolling in the carers arms with looks of devotion! Will book again. Thank you Tia x”

“Danielle looked after our dachshund Frank at very short notice and we honestly couldn’t recommend her enough. We received regular photo updates throughout, and Frank looked so happy, relaxed, and completely at home in her care. Not only did she take amazing care of Frank, but she also went above and beyond by completing household chores and leaving the house absolutely spotless when we returned. It gave us such peace of mind knowing he was being so well cared for. A genuinely lovely, trustworthy, and reliable dog sitter, we will definitely be using Danielle again. Thank you so much!”

“It takes a lot to trust someone with your dog but we knew, from his first interaction with Cabot, that Adam would be someone we’d be comfortable leaving him with and we booked him twice straight away. Cabot got on with Adam from the start and had a great day with him. We received a lot of photos of how they were getting along during the day and what Cabot was doing. Can’t recommend Adam enough.”

“Elizabeth made going away for a week stress free, as we knew our cat was in great hands. Excellent communication through it, and giving us updates and sending pictures really helped. Lovely person and will definitely be booking with her again”

About: I have loved looking after all types pets for as long as I can remember I treat all pets like family giving the love and care they deserve I work full time but I get plenty of time to pop through to homes throughout the day while working to make sure all pets are fed have plenty of toilet breaks and lots of snuggles I currently can not look after pets in my own home but I can crate pets easily give they food drinks and walks all especially all the love they deserve
“We are so grateful for Amber looking after our Raya 😄 she’s a very timid cat needs someone who can take the time to get to know her. It was our first time using leaving Raya and Amber reassured us from start to finish with lots of videos of Raya enjoying! Already looking to re-book Amber in September. Thank you so much 🥹”

“Leila looked after our dog, Rocky, for over 3 weeks whilst we were away from mid December til early January '25. We had to put Rocky in kennels 2 years ago when we were away and it really traumatised him, he is very much happiest when in his own home with just his family around. He doesn't socialise well with other dogs. We were delighted to find someone available over the holidays who could live in and look after our pet. Rocky is an anxious dog and it takes him time to let people near him and touch him, and we expected that the best we could hope for was that Rocky would be left alone, fed and let out into the garden to do his loo business. Leila visited twice in advance to do some test walks with Rocky and let him meet her, this was well worth the time and much appreciated. Leila gave us daily updates on how Rocky was and we were amazed that they were immediately going on walks 2-3 times a day and he bonded with Leila very quickly. Despite it being through the middle of winter, Leila took Rocky out exploring new areas across local fields and footpaths and washed him down afterwards. Leila also gave him his daily meds and took to caring for him in a calm and organised manner, When we returned home, Rocky was sad to see Leila go and we now have to make sure he keeps up his daily exercise regime as he is fitter than when we left. We could not have hoped for better care for Rocky and would definitely recommend Leila as a dog sitter.”

About: Hello pet parents! I’m Rhiannon an avid animal lover based in Bridgend. Ever since I was young, pets have been a huge part of my life. I know firsthand that pets are family, and my goal is to provide a safe, fun, and comfortable environment so you can enjoy time away with complete peace of mind. Whether your dog needs an energetic run in the park, a leisurely sniffari, or just wants some gentle chin scratches and company, I tailor my visits to fit your pet's exact routine and personality. I am communicative, reliable, and always send plenty of photo updates so you never have to miss a moment. I will be home all day and evening with your pets to ensure they have company all the time. Your pets will be allowed on sofa and bed if that’s what your dog is used to. I have a fenced garden and have two other small dogs to keep your dog company! I have a large park within walking distance from my house.
“I cannot recommend Yasmin enough! We were so so nervous leaving our very anxious dog with separation anxiety and two shy rescue cats, but Yasmin was absolutely brilliant. The pets instantly relaxed around her, she provided regular updates, and we came home to a spotless house and three very happy pets. We won't hesitate to book her again. Thank you so so much!”

About: Hi, I'm H. I grew up with dogs and have been around them for most of my life, including caring for my family's sprocker. I spend my free time outdoors, whether that's camping, hiking or cycling around South Wales. I understand every dog has their own personality and routine, and I always aim to provide care that helps them feel safe, relaxed and happy. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, overnight boarding and flexible care after work and on weekends. I'm also fully insured for your peace of mind. A quick note about my profile photos: the sprocker lives with my parents, and the boxer has moved to another home. There are no dogs living with me, so I can offer boarding in a calm, dog-free environment. I look forward to meeting you and your four-legged family member. I'll care for them as if they were my own. I work full time for the NHS and finish work mostly at 6pm. I can pick up / you can drop off in the evening and am free most weekends. I don’t have any dogs of my own in the house. I have a fully safe private garden. I can either look after your lovely pet in my own home or yours, whichever your loved one feels more comfortable with doing.
“Gemma came to look after our doodle when we were staying in Porthcawl and going to Cardiff for a gig. Gemma was really lovely and very professional, Ivy was absolutely fine with her and believe me she is a Velcro dog who doesn’t settle easily. Ivy had a lovely walk on the beach with Gemma and she was happy and settled when we returned home. Thanks again Gemma, we will definitely book in with you again when we return.”

About: I've loved animals for as long as I can remember and have spent much of my life caring for dogs, cats and other pets belonging to family, friends and neighbours. What sets me apart is the way I approach each animal as an individual. Some dogs want to march up the mountain at full speed, some prefer a slower wander with plenty of sniffing and exploring, and some simply need a calm, reassuring presence. I enjoy getting to know their personalities and adapting my care to what makes them feel safe, happy and understood. I'm reliable, patient and attentive, and I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. Whether it's a walk, a drop-in visit, companionship while you're away, or overnight care, I treat every animal with kindness, respect and genuine affection. I have experience with dogs and of different ages, sizes and temperaments, and I'm comfortable following feeding routines, administering simple medications, using specific leads or equipment, and maintaining any training or house rules you already have in place. My goal is simple, to make sure your pet is well cared for, enjoys their time with me, and comes home (or stays home) happy and content. Pet care is a central part of my week and I structure my schedule to ensure the animals in my care receive the time, attention and consistency they need. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, companionship visits, pet sitting and overnight stays. I aim to keep my diary manageable so that every pet receives individual attention rather than being rushed from one booking to the next. I am flexible where possible and happy to discuss regular or occasional care depending on your needs. I understand how important routines can be for animals, so I do my best to maintain familiar feeding, walking and rest schedules to help them feel secure and settled. The safety, wellbeing and happiness of every pet is my priority. Before providing care, I take time to understand each animal's personality, routine, preferences, training, health needs and any specific instructions you would like followed. Whether caring for pets in their own home or taking dogs for walks, I aim to create a calm, positive and secure experience. I pay close attention to lead requirements, recall ability, interactions with other dogs, feeding routines, medications and any behavioural considerations. I know that trusting someone with your beloved pet is a big decision, so I always treat animals, homes and personal information with care, respect and professionalism. I am also happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is safe and well cared for.
About: Nijo & Jenny Animals have always been a big part of my life. I grew up in a home with multiple dogs and cats and have cared for pets for many years. Over time, I have looked after and cared for dogs ranging from small breeds to large breeds, each with their own unique personalities, needs and routines. As a Merchant Navy Officer, I have 2 mo tha rotation, where I am onboard for 2-3 and at home on leave for 2-3 months. During my leave periods, I am home full-time for up to two months at a stretch, allowing me to provide plenty of companionship, exercise and supervision. My wife and I are both passionate animal lovers and regularly help friends with their dogs. Due to my work pattern we are unable to get a dog ourselves currently but we try to compensate that by lending a hand to our friends with pets. We understand that every pet is different, and we strive to provide a safe, loving and stress-free home away from home where pets are treated as part of the family. We ourselves use rover when we go for vacations and understand the situation, we strive to create a second home for your furry friends and would be part of our family. When I am on leave from work, I am available at home full-time and can dedicate my attention to your pet throughout the day. This allows me to maintain their usual routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, rest periods and plenty of companionship. I enjoy spending time outdoors and regularly visit local walking areas such as Brynna Woods and Smilog Woods. Depending on your dog's preferences and energy levels, I can also provide longer walks, park visits and beach outings. I only accept one household's dog at a time, ensuring your pet receives individual attention and a calm environment. Your pet's safety and wellbeing are my highest priorities. My wife and I live in a spacious home with a secure fenced back garden, providing a safe environment for dogs to relax, play and explore. We also share our home with our friendly domestic shorthair cat, Simba, who is comfortable around dogs that respect her space. Before every booking, I take time to understand your pet's routine, preferences, dietary requirements and any special instructions. My wife is a medical doctor and is happy to assist with routine medications if required, providing additional reassurance for owners whose pets may need ongoing treatment during their stay. I only accept one household's dog at a time, ensuring your pet receives individual attention, plenty of supervision and a calm environment. I will also provide regular photo and video updates so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is happy, comfortable and well cared for.

It takes a lot to trust someone with your dog but we knew, from his first interaction with Cabot, that Adam would be someone we’d be comfortable leaving him with and we booked him twice straight away. Cabot got on with Adam from the start and had a great day with him. We received a lot of photos of how they were getting along during the day and what Cabot was doing. Can’t recommend Adam enough.

I 1st time have ever left our boy with anyone bar family , Danielle was perfect, daily photos of walk and relaxing at home, she even put up with our boys quirky habits. Can’t thank her enough , would 100% recommend her will definitely be using her again. Thank you Danielle from us and Elvis x

Again Lottie had a fabulous time with Tia, Lottie told me she spent the time lovingly ensconced in the sofa. And had a fabulous walk. . Tia was so incredibly helpful as my car had broken down. Definitely will use again, Tia is a lovely person and Lottie is a huge fan!

Once again James stayed to look after Rosie and Bea our two chocolate labradors. They love him coming and miss him when he goes. This time however Rosie was taken ill. Due to James swift intervention he took Rosie to the vets and was found to be very poorly. She got treatment immediately which saved her life. We van only thank him for his care and diligence in dealing with an awful situation. We have total faith in him and would highly recommend him to anyone to look after their fur babies.

Keely has been a fantastic dog sitter! She is brilliant with our dog Ted, who loves all her cuddles and fusses. She was really attentive to Ted’s specific needs, particularly around fireworks season, and kept us up to date regularly. Keely also kept the house wonderfully clean and tidy. We will definitely be booking her to dog sit for us again in future 😊

I wanted to share my fantastic experience with Bea and her pet-sitting services. She took care of my two springers from Thursday to Saturday, and I must say, she was simply amazing. Bea provided constant updates throughout the day, which was extremely reassuring. It was evident that my dogs took to her straight away, so much so that I don't think they wanted her to leave! Given how well things went, I will definitely be using Bea's services again in the future. I highly recommend her to friends and family looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Bridgend walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bridgend choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
