“We met Emma before the date we had booked, so that she could meet the girls. We had a good chat and the dogs got to know her. Emma was very calm and loving with them. It was good that we got to know each other as well. Emma let us know when she arrived and said everything was fine, dogs let out etc. she told us when she was leaving, having put food down for them. Excellent communication throughout the visit. It allowed us to have a day out with friends for lunch. I would recommend her 100%! Thank you Emma.”

“Trina is highly recommended. My cat Jack absolutely adores her. He has to have insulin injections twice a day and Trina looks after him so well. Really can't praise Trina enough.”

“Adam has been fantastic since the second we reached out to him. The gremlins absolutely love him. He's always responsive to messages and requests, and there is nothing he wouldn't do for the girls. We are so lucky to have found him. He also takes amazing photos!”

About: I love all animals, from the tiniest to the hugest! Dogs and cats have been part of my life since I was very small. Growing up with dogs and cats, looking after friends, family & neighbours pets while they were out, working, on holiday or ill. If I am honest, I often prefer to spend my time with furry friends than with human ones. My care and love for any animal is no different than for my own. Unfortunately I lost both of my dogs to old age over the past 2 years and miss them like crazy. My best buds. I am confident with any breed of dog, would respect any of your training rules and follow them for consistency. I have experience with medication administration and senior care. I love walking, so me and your fur baby would have the best times out & about. I would only walk one to one, never group walk, so my attention and care would be for your dog only, and so long as it was ok with your dog, there would be lots of cuddles available!! Although my profile states I have a dog, Dixie does not live with me, she lives with my Son...I am Dixie's Nanny 💖 I am also DBS checked. Use this link below (copy & paste) for £15 off a new booking for new Rover users 🤩 https://www.rover.com/sit/gillm16415 I currently work from home so have plenty of time for play dates & cuddles with your dog or cat! I love walking on the beach, in woodland areas and parks, so anywhere your dog prefers is fine with me.....we could explore new places together! If at home, we can play in or explore the garden, snuggle on the sofa for a snooze or share a treat or 2 🥰 I have a fenced garden, no pets at home and no children. My profile states I have a dog, but she lives with my Son, I am Dixie's Nanny 😍 I would absolutely following all your house rules. Your furbaby would be as safe as possible with me, I would treat them as I would my own....with love, kindness, patience and respect 🤍
“I couldn’t recommend Tia and Matt enough. They have been a massive help with our new little pup Skye. They treat her like one of her own and is absolutely spoilt rotten when we’re away. I can leave the house knowing full well that Skye will have the best time. They are so flexible and have been able to help us out at very short enough. We’re so appreciative for everything they’ve done to help our Skye have fulfilling and fun days when we are having to work.”

“Chloe looked after my two cats over a long weekend and was absolutely brilliant. She asked all the right questions beforehand, watched all our care videos, and kept us updated with messages and photos throughout. One of my cats is currently suffering with a skin condition which needed daily medication and care, which isn't easy. Chloe was on top of all of that and knowing this gave us real peace of mind while we were away. She handled the medication and routine really calmly, and fitted us in. Chloe communicated really well and proactively throughout. Both cats took to her straight away, which tells you everything. She left everything really clean and tidy, and we came home to two happy, settled cats. We'd book Chloe again without hesitation. Thank you Chloe!”

About: I’ve grown up with pets for as long as I can remember, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I genuinely love spending time with dogs and making sure they feel happy, safe, and comfortable while they’re away from home. I live in a peaceful rural area with plenty of space for dogs to explore, play, or simply relax and enjoy the quiet surroundings. Over the years, I’ve looked after dogs for friends and family, from regular walks to longer stays, and I always treat them with the same care and attention I would give my own pets. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your dog, and I aim to provide a calm, loving environment where they feel settled, cared for, and part of the family. I am currently self-employed and work from home, so I’ll have plenty of time to walk, care for, and give attention to your dogs throughout the day. I have plenty of space here for them to roam around, play, and feel comfortable in a safe environment. I have a large enclosed garden to keep your dogs safe and secure while they play and explore. I currently don’t have any other dogs at home, which makes it a calm and peaceful environment, especially well suited for quieter or more timid dogs.
About: Have experience of various pets: cats, dogs, guinea pigs, tortoises, stick insects. Elderly animals. Did work experience placement at Centre for Life Studies, London Zoo. I currently work full time, Monday to Friday, but am being made redundant in May, so will be available full time from 8th May onwards. I will be looking after pets in their own home. I will ask the owner which rooms the pets are allowed in. I will ask for full details of the pets health and habits.

About: We are a retired couple living in Bridgend. We have had dogs all our lives, however unfortunately, we recently lost our beloved Tilly. We are unable to commit to a pet full time, so hoping to help others by inviting theirs to stay with us. We are retired and are home a lot during the day. We are able to go on long walks, down the beach or to our local field. We have a lot of time on our hands, so would love to bring in a new sense of life to our home with your pets keeping us company. We have a closed garden, bungalow where we both live. We do not have children or other pets and are non smokers. We can offer what is required, including administering medication where needed. I was actually a carer for many years, so know the importance of being specific with requirements.
“Jason and Emily were so lovely when we first met them to introduce them to our two cats who they looked after for us whilst we were on holiday. Nothing was too much hassle for them, and we loved receiving the photos and update. We knew our cats were in good hands! We will definitely be using Jason’s services again 😊 thank you very much”

Adam was brilliant with Kobe and had really good knowledge of the breed, which instantly put us at ease. He took the time to get to know Kobe and spent lots of time playing with him, so we felt completely reassured that he was happy and in safe hands. We also really appreciated the pictures and updates while he was there. 🐶 We’ll definitely be using Adam again. Thank you so much!

Sarah was very friendly and welcoming when she came and met our little cat Tokyo. We had updates every evening, which was great while away missing Tokyo. When we came back from holiday Tokyo seemed a very happy cat, and was well cared for. Will definitely be using Sarah again for our cat sitter in the future 😊

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bridgend choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
