She kept me updated with lots of photographs and correspondence. Not only were the pets extremely well looked after but my house was immaculate on my return. I would definitely use her again and recommend her 100%.”

About: I always had a family dog growing up, the house wouldn’t be the same without a dog or two! I have always helped look after dogs for family and friends and now as I have just completed dog grooming training I am excited to meet yours and provide them with care and love! I currently work in a primary school part time, my young child is now starting full time school and I have quality time spare to spend on your furry friends. I treat their home like it’s my own and care for their animal like they are my own. Attention to detail and being responsible and reliable.

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars – Would 100% Book Again! We recently left our two dogs, Esmae and Gizmo, and our two cats, Luna and Lyra, with Destiny while we went away for a couple of nights to celebrate my partner's birthday. Like many pet owners, our animals are family, and I find it incredibly difficult to trust someone else to care for them. Destiny arranged a meet-and-greet before we confirmed the booking, which really helped put my mind at ease from the start. Destiny was friendly, professional, and punctual. Our little Gizmo took to her straight away, which is always a good sign! Esmae is a bit more of a diva and can take her time warming to people, and Luna is much the same, so I wasn't expecting instant friendships. Before our trip, Destiny took the time to ask lots of questions and make sure she fully understood everyone's routines, personalities, and needs. It was clear she genuinely cared about getting everything right and wanted the animals to feel as comfortable as possible while we were away. While we were away, we received regular updates, photos, videos, and voice notes, which made such a difference and really helped me relax and enjoy our time away. Esmae, our typically sassy and slightly standoffish Chihuahua, was completely won over by Destiny in less than three days and was happily cwtching up with her. Esmae also has epilepsy and unfortunately experienced a seizure while we were away. Thanks to all the conversations beforehand, Destiny recognised what was happening, understood the changes in Esmae's behaviour afterwards, and supported her brilliantly. What could have been a very stressful situation was handled calmly and confidently, and I felt reassured throughout thanks to Destiny's communication and updates. They both handled it like absolute champions. Gizmo, who is usually full of life, was clearly missing us while we were away. Destiny gave him plenty of TLC, reassurance, and attention, and took everything at his pace. He really enjoyed his walks with her and was clearly very well looked after. As a multi-species household, we also appreciated how well Destiny managed the different needs of both the dogs and cats. Lyra absolutely loved all the fuss and attention, and even Luna—who I'm still trying to win over myself—was happy spending time with Destiny! The biggest compliment I can give is that I spent less time worrying about the animals and more time enjoying our holiday because I knew they were in safe hands. Coming home to four happy, relaxed, and settled pets confirmed we'd made the right choice. I honestly can't recommend Destiny highly enough. Knowing our pets were safe, loved, and cared for as individuals meant the world to us. We would absolutely book with her again and, for the first time in a long while, feel confident about taking little trips away knowing we have someone we can truly trust to look after our animals. Thank you, Destiny, for taking such wonderful care of our little family. ❤️🐾🐶🐶🐱🐱 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would 100% recommend and will definitely be booking again.”

I do shift work so am able to dedicate time to something I really enjoy. I love being outdoors and have a good level of fitness. I have experience of looking after dogs and have my own dog since a puppy. She initially was a very nervous puppy but with patient she is a fab dog now who enjoys being out and with my children.
“First time leaving my boy with someone he didn't know but did a fantastic job! Left my home nice and clean and even did some laundry for me - couldn't ask for more! Highly recommended house sitter 🏆”

“So Since moving to Cornwall with my 3 Frenchie's I have been looking for a dog walker and sitter whom I could totally trust with my dogs, as they mean the world to me. Well I found Tia, she has walked the dogs for me and this past weekend 28/1/22 - 30/1/22 she sat with my dogs in my house. I had a very important and personal engagement over the weekend, which I was so glad I could attend. Needless to say I was very apprehensive, but that soon dissolved after a few messages and videos were sent to me of the dogs, Tia had them totally relaxed and enjoying themselves. This meant I could relax and get on with my weekend of events. Tia was excellent with them, calm and effective and I could not have wished for them to be in better and safer hands. Will certainly use her again, she was so good, totally would recommend her.”

About: I have a 5 year old labrador and I'm very used to walking him for 1 hour daily. I grew up with dogs and lived near a farm as a young child. I also had 2 pet persian house cats as well as budgie's and hamsters. I work full-time but this is agile, balancing office based with working from home. I am usually free during the evenings and on fridays as well as the weekends. But this can be flexible if i offer a boarding service as i can agile work. I have a fenced garden so everything is safe and enclosed, i also live on a quiet estate where the road is not busy. I like to spend time with the animals when they are in my company, as long as a blanket is on the sofa and bed they are welcome to lay on this.
About: I have been a pet owner my entire life, and I have hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats. I have personally trained my own Border Collie, which has given me valuable experience with obedience training, high-energy breeds, and positive reinforcement techniques. I am comfortable caring for everything from Great Danes to smaller breeds, and I understand how to adapt my approach based on a pet’s individual needs. Above all, I treat every pet as if they are my own, providing a safe and loving environment while you are away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I’m a co-carer, which gives me a flexible schedule, and I also work on projects on the side that allow me to plan my time around pet care. This flexibility means I can provide reliable attention, regular walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship throughout the day, rather than fitting pets in around a rigid work schedule. I take time to build trust with each pet, allowing them to settle at their own pace and using gentle, positive reinforcement. I’m experienced with a wide range of breeds and temperaments and always stay attentive to behavior changes or signs of stress. Above all, I treat every pet with the same care, patience, and respect I give my own, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away.
“One of our dogs is extremely anxious and nervous, and we are always concerned for her. Lauren took excellent care of our dogs, and was easy to contact throughout the process. It is clear she loves animals, and both of our dogs were cuddling up to her by the end of her stay! We will definitely use her again.”

Chantalle was amazing with my dog Rexy. She took the time out of her day to come and visit him beforehand to make sure he was comfortable being around her. I was sent plenty of videos and photos while I was away keeping me in the loop with all the play time, dog walks and visits to the dog parks. Rexy even made a new best friend in Freddie. I would highly recommend Chantalle for anyone who’s looking for a dog sitter!

Eve was absolutely amazing with our 2 pups, they were well cared for and every need was pampered to. Eve stayed with them and sent lovely photos of the pups daily and they were so happy ... so I was very happy. Will use Eve again as it is so hard to find someone who is trustworthy and that we can 100% trust. She is wonderful and calm with the dogs and as soon as she visited to meet them you could tell they would be cared for properly. Don't hesitate if you need someone to look after your animals as she really is a 5 star professional. Thank you Eve love Pumps and Ty and of course their humans xx

Jodie took the time months in advance to come and get to know my babies! Which made staying with them easier on all of us, eased my anxiety and also having a dog with separation anxiety getting to know him was so important for me! Such a friendly and caring woman we are lucky to have her as a walker/sitter and would definitely recommend to anyone. Thank you so much Jodie!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Caerphilly choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
