“Cody was amazing!! We have 3 cats and a large dog(GSP). This wasn’t a problem for Cody. She took him on plenty of walk and gave us lots of updates while we we on holiday to give us peace of mind. We came back to our house exactly how we left it. I can’t give her enough praise.”

“Alison made a great job of caring for our cat Milly. She is a very upbeat, thoughtful and kind person, and I felt very confident leaving her in charge of the cat and the house. Milly was happy and calm when we came back from our break and had obviously formed a good bond with Alison, who had been chatting to Milly and getting a good response. I wholeheartedly recommend Alison to care for your pets in your home, she is 100% reliable and tunes in to the animal’s needs, and cared for the home too.”

“A big thank you to Curtis for an excellent service. Curtis was really flexible at short notice when we were let down by a friend a few days before a 10 day trip overseas. He came and did a meet and greet the day before we were due to leave, met our 2 dogs (one of which is very unsure of new people and can be a little challenging!) and then returned on our leave date to start the sit. Curtis is punctual, communicative and took lots of great pics whilst we were away. We came home to two happy dogs and an immaculate home where everything had been looked after. Our next trip is already booked and we hope to be return/ repeat customers going forward! With no family to help us with pet care, it’s been a genuine relief to find Rover and Curtis… “would highly recommend!””

“Geraint took fantastic care of my two dogs and home while I was away for an extended holiday. Everything ran perfectly which gave me total confidence to relax and enjoy my time away.”

I have always helped look after dogs for family and friends and now as I have just completed dog grooming training I am excited to meet yours and provide them with care and love! I currently work in a primary school part time, my young child is now starting full time school and I have quality time spare to spend on your furry friends. I treat their home like it’s my own and care for their animal like they are my own. Attention to detail and being responsible and reliable.

“First time leaving my boy with someone he didn't know but did a fantastic job! Left my home nice and clean and even did some laundry for me - couldn't ask for more! Highly recommended house sitter 🏆”

“Lilli is a kind and caring person who took extremely good care of my fur baby Dexter. She is clearly an animal lover because my reactive boy loved her on first sight. She also kept my home clean and tidy during her stay.”

“Simon and Caitlin were great sitters. They were very interested in our needs in our intro call and then cared for our Springer Spaniel incredibly well for a week, providing her with lots of stimulation and walks. We found a very happy dog on our return and our house was left in immaculate condition. I would recommend them to anyone.”

“So Since moving to Cornwall with my 3 Frenchie's I have been looking for a dog walker and sitter whom I could totally trust with my dogs, as they mean the world to me. Well I found Tia, she has walked the dogs for me and this past weekend 28/1/22 - 30/1/22 she sat with my dogs in my house. I had a very important and personal engagement over the weekend, which I was so glad I could attend. Needless to say I was very apprehensive, but that soon dissolved after a few messages and videos were sent to me of the dogs, Tia had them totally relaxed and enjoying themselves. This meant I could relax and get on with my weekend of events. Tia was excellent with them, calm and effective and I could not have wished for them to be in better and safer hands. Will certainly use her again, she was so good, totally would recommend her.”

“Sucheta looked after our 3 year old cockapoo for 2 weeks whilst we went on holiday. Sucheta took amazing care of Ted, we had daily updates, pictures and videos which was so reassuring. It was clear that Ted was happy and very well looked after. She would reply promptly to messages. I would highly recommend Sucheta to anyone and will definitely use her again. Thanks so much x”

“Lauren cared for my dogs so well! I had photos of them relaxing with her and on their walks with her. When I got home they were interested in what she was doing, which is always a sign they love someone! Lauren also looked after my home very well, the place was spotless to come home to and she even did some errands for me - what an absolute superstar! I will be booking her again!”

“Taine was a fantastic companion for my girl and she thoroughly enjoyed his company and cwtches. Taine was calm and laid back in his approach but was quick to ask questions to ensure that he provided my girl with everything she needed in my absence. Returned home to a very content and snoozy pup & a was given a full rundown of her activities, food and water consumption. Taine was friendly and professional and l would highly recommend his services. See you again soon, Taine. Diolch BIG. 🐶😁”

About: Taken care of many dogs since growing up , from family sheep dogs on the farm to walking neighbours dogs while away and friends dogs while on holiday or a emergency I work as a free lance so most weekends are currently free and can be taken for short walks or long hikes for the day. I have a massive lake that’s 5 min fromthe house where I can take for walks alongside a big open field, plenty of open spaces in around , so could potentially drive them to different places depending on preference of the owner.
The median cost per night for house sitting in Caerphilly is £35

Chantalle was amazing with my dog Rexy. She took the time out of her day to come and visit him beforehand to make sure he was comfortable being around her. I was sent plenty of videos and photos while I was away keeping me in the loop with all the play time, dog walks and visits to the dog parks. Rexy even made a new best friend in Freddie. I would highly recommend Chantalle for anyone who’s looking for a dog sitter!

Eve was absolutely amazing with our 2 pups, they were well cared for and every need was pampered to. Eve stayed with them and sent lovely photos of the pups daily and they were so happy ... so I was very happy. Will use Eve again as it is so hard to find someone who is trustworthy and that we can 100% trust. She is wonderful and calm with the dogs and as soon as she visited to meet them you could tell they would be cared for properly. Don't hesitate if you need someone to look after your animals as she really is a 5 star professional. Thank you Eve love Pumps and Ty and of course their humans xx

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Caerphilly walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Caerphilly choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
