“Came home to a tidy house and a happy dog and can’t ask for more! Ashley kept us updated and was communicative, especially when the winter storm threw our travel plans into flux. Will be booking again!”

“We came home to happy pets who had clearly been well looked after! It was our first time leaving our dog with a sitter, and we appreciated Emily coming to meet us before to put our minds at ease. We could tell Emily had experience with pets, as well as being a lovely person, and my dog warmed to her straight away. Very welcome to pet/house sit here again :)”

“Really delighted to have found Leanne, who looked after my two fur babies and stayed in my home while we were away for several nights. Absolute professional - dogs were really relaxed and calm when we arrived home which is always a good sign and the house was absolutely spotless! She messaged frequently, sending updates and reassurances. I would certainly recommend her.”

About: I’m Mike, an animal lover based in Cardiff, and I’d be really happy to help look after your pets while you’re busy or away. I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust, so I always treat every pet as if they were my own – with patience, kindness and plenty of love and attention. I offer friendly, reliable dog walking for all ages and energy levels, from gentle strolls for older doggies to longer, more active walks for those who love to explore. I’m also available for dog sitting in your home, keeping to your normal routines with feeding, playtime, and any specific training or house rules you have. For cat owners, I provide calm and respectful cat sitting or daily check ins – fresh food and water, clean litter trays, play and cuddles (if your cat is the cuddly type!), and regular updates so you know they’re doing well. I’m also experienced with small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and fish, and I’m happy to follow detailed care instructions to make sure they feel safe and comfortable. I’m flexible, easy to contact and will keep you updated with daily messages and photos, so you always know how your pets are getting on. If you have any questions or special requirements, just let me know – I’ll do my best to tailor my care to your pet’s individual needs. I work remotely (not office based), which allows me to provide consistent, attentive care and maintain a flexible routine tailored to each pet’s needs throughout the day and week. I have extensive experience with a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, and smaller pets such as rabbits, hamsters, and fish. Growing up surrounded by animals and regularly caring for pets within my community has given me a deep understanding of different temperaments and care requirements. In addition to domestic pet care, I have spent many years working with wildlife as a conservationist and wildlife protection officer where I helped train and use working dogs on a daily basis, further strengthening my skills in animal handling and welfare. As I don’t currently have pets of my own, I’m able to dedicate my full time, attention, and care to the animals I look after. I am also trained in pet first aid and CPR. Safety, trust, and a calm environment are at the heart of how I care for every pet. As I work remotely (not office based), pets are never left alone for long periods and receive consistent supervision, attention, and companionship throughout the day. I take time to understand each pet’s individual routine, preferences, and any specific needs to ensure they feel secure and comfortable in my care. Be it walks, daily check ins or caring for pets in their owner’s home, I maintain a clean, hazard-free environment and follow all instructions carefully, including feeding routines, medication, and exercise requirements. I prioritise gentle handling, positive reinforcement, and creating a stress-free atmosphere, especially for more nervous or sensitive animals. With my background in animal care and wildlife work, I am confident in recognising changes in behaviour or health and responding appropriately. I am also trained in pet first aid and CPR, ensuring im alway providing extra reassurance that pets are in safe, capable hands at all times.
“Kelsey was great! She was really communicative from the start and was more than happy to meet our pup beforehand, which made everything feel much more comfortable and less overwhelming on the day. While we were out, she kept us updated with photos, which we really appreciated. She’s super friendly, easy to get along with, and clearly a natural with dogs, our pup took to her straight away. We’re so glad to have found someone we trust and are already looking forward to booking with her again!”

“We were let down short notice for someone to look after our Saffie a boxer as I work in pet insurance I was recommended to Rover. After searching, we came across a sitter called Jess. As anyone would, we were apprehensive of strangers coming and staying at our home. About the stay, Jess was absolutely fantastic. We are so thankful we found her and will definitely book her again. She made sure not just the dog, but our home was looked after nicely and clean from when we returned from our family holiday. We had regular updates, photos and videos of Saffie enjoying her time with Jess and if we had a question, then it was never a problem to reply with a quick response. For first time users, I definitely recommend using Rover if your planning a family holiday and highly recommend Jess once again Jess, thank you and a WOOF from Saffie.”

“Lydia was absolutely fantastic with our two dachshunds and they loved her. I would absolutely recommend Lydia for any dog and house sitting. She was always on time and communicated regularly.”

“Josh and Marcus were absolutely fantastic while dog sitting my two dogs and looking after my home for five days. From start to finish, their service was brilliant. Their communication was excellent — I always felt informed and reassured, and they were quick to respond to any messages. They sent the most wonderful pictures of my dogs, which really put my mind at ease and showed just how happy and well cared for they were. It was clear they genuinely cared, not just about the dogs, but about my home as well. Everything was spotless when I returned, and my dogs were relaxed and content — the best sign of all! They truly went above and beyond in every way. I can’t thank them enough and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring, and professional sitters. Thank you both so much!”

About: Animals are my world. My family has had dogs since I was a teenager, and although I don't have any of my own, I am a regular volunteer at Cardiff Dogs Home. There I have experience with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities, and we work with each dog's individual needs to make sure that they get the type of walk or play session best suited to them. I also fostered a 7 month old collie cross for a couple of months to give her a break from kennels and get her ready for her forever home with basic training, and am still in contact with her new parents and get lovely updates. I have two cats, Poppy & Bluebell, who I adopted as kittens from All Creatures Great & Small rescue. As a teenager, I spent every minute of my free time at my local stables, and looked after a pony on an arrangement with his owner. I also regularly got to go and see him in his retirement in the Brecon Beacons. I also work as a freelance photographer, meaning that a lot of my work can be done from home (or your home!) while sitting, and gives me flexibility to fit lots of walks in. Before taking on any clients, we'll meet up in person so that your dog can be introduced to me. I will always listen to clients as to what their dogs need, and understand that some dogs need more and/or slower introductions than others. *** I only use positive reinforcement! *** I work with owners to tailor their dogs' care around specific needs — and am very understanding about things like reactivity towards other dogs, people, or other elements. I am experienced and confident walking dogs who are muzzled, and know that muzzled dogs are good dogs! Dogs will always be kept on a lead until I am fully confident in their recall — and would only ever be let off the lead in an appropriate area and with an owner's full permission, and with use of a long line first. I carry a spare lead at all times in case of the rare instance of a collar, lead, or harness malfunctioning.

About: Hi there! I’m Emma, based in the Radyr, Fairwater and Danescourt area of Cardiff, and I absolutely love spending time with animals of all shapes and sizes 🐾💜 Josh and I work as a team, and we’ve been cat sitting and dog walking across Cardiff for the past 5 years! While we do both, we mainly focus on cats and have lots of experience caring for all kinds of feline personalities, from shy and nervous to playful and affectionate! I grew up surrounded by cats and now have two very spoiled fur babies of my own, so I know just how important it is to find someone you trust with them. We genuinely treat every pet as if they were our own and take the time to understand their routines and little quirks! Whether it’s keeping your cat company at home, sticking to their usual routine, or getting your dog out for a fun and enriching walk, we’ll make sure they feel happy, safe and well looked after! We’re experienced in all aspects of pet care, including feeding routines and administering medication if needed. We both work for the NHS and are DBS checked, so you can feel completely at ease knowing your pets are in safe and caring hands! We’re new to Rover, but we do have plenty of experience through other pet sitting and dog walking platforms! We’d love to meet you and your pets soon! 🐾💜 Pet care fits really naturally into our routine! Because we both work for the NHS in flexible roles, we’re able to plan our days around visits, walks and check-ins. This means we can be available for morning, lunchtime and evening visits depending on what your pet needs! As a team, Josh and I can also share responsibilities, which gives us even more flexibility and reliability. We’re used to fitting pet care into our weekly routine and prioritising it, so your pets will always have consistent, dedicated time and attention. We’re especially mindful with cats to keep to their usual routines, as we know how important that is for their comfort and wellbeing, and we’re equally happy getting out for regular dog walks throughout the day! Just let us know what works best for you and your pet, and we’ll do our best to accommodate! 🐾💜 Your pet’s safety, comfort and routine are always our top priority! 🐾💜 When caring for pets in their own home, we do everything we can to keep things as familiar and stress-free as possible. We stick closely to your pet’s usual routine, including feeding times, walks, litter tray or garden access, and any medication if needed. We take time to build trust with each pet, especially cats who may be a little shy at first, and always go at their pace. We’re very respectful of your home and make sure everything is left exactly as we found it. We’re also happy to send regular updates, photos and little messages so you can feel reassured while you’re away! For dog walks, we prioritise safe routes and environments, keep dogs on lead unless agreed otherwise, and always make sure they’re secure, happy and well exercised. As NHS professionals and DBS checked sitters, trust and reliability are really important to us. We treat every pet as if they were our own and every home with care and respect! If you have any specific instructions or preferences, we’re always happy to follow them closely to make sure your pet gets the best possible care! 🐾💜
About: I’ve grown up around dogs and have always had dogs at home, so caring for them comes naturally to me. I also regularly look after friends’ and family members’ dogs and cats when they’re away, making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for. Around my work schedule I enjoy a lot of free time at home which I am now trying to fill that spare time keeping busy. I care for pets by following their normal routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable and secure. This includes feeding on schedule, regular walks or litter changes, playtime, and plenty of attention and affection. In both my home and a pet owner’s home, I make sure pets are safe, relaxed, and well cared for, and I’m happy to follow any specific instructions or routines the owner provides.
About: I had my own dog from around 8yrs old until she passed away in 2015 (she was a Chihuahua cross Cairn terrier & was a rescue, she was about 17 when she crossed the rainbow bridge 💔). I have always loved dogs. I love animals in general & intend to have my own fur babies in the future. I will do my best to look after your beloved furry family member & have fun with them. I believe my offer is fair. The price of my services IS negotiable. I look forward to hearing from you soon 😊! Thanks. We can’t afford to have any pets and our home isn’t suitable, but I still love animals and I want to be around dogs more than I currently am. I would only be able to pet sit in the owners house as my own home isn’t suitable. I would do my best to look after your beloved pet 😇🐶❤️
Vale of Glamorgan pet owners share their Rover experiences
Leanne looked after our two boys for four nights during a trip to Venice. Would definitely recommend using her services as Leanne was brilliant from start to finish. We arranged a meet & greet beforehand so that the boys could familiarise themselves with her and then we received regular updates, including pics whilst away. We will be using Leanne again (hopefully in June) for our next break away. Your little ones will be in safe hands, you can rest easy knowing that when you come home they will be content and will have enjoyed their time with her. Our house was left spotless! Thank you Leanne.
We can’t recommend Danny and Gee enough! We messaged with a last minute booking as our dog care fell through. They were quick to reply, we met with them the following day to check how our dogs interacted and discussed our dogs needs and personalities. We had daily updates and photos whilst we were away, and Luna and Dex look like they’ve had the best day being pampered pooches! It’s clear that Danny and Gee are dog lovers, and we had no concerns at all. They loved their time and we will definitely be using Danny and Gee again. Thanks so much both!

Rosie looked after my two labradors in my house this last weekend. This is the first time I had not had family sit my dogs and was a little nervous. I needn't have been, Rosie was absolutely fabulous with both dogs! She sent me regular updates and photos and also left the house spotless. I would not hesitate to book her again would happily recommend her to family and friends.
