“Izzabelle was able to take on a full day dogsitting at relatively short notice, and she was brilliant! She had a lovely way with Liesel and kept me updated with really considerate messages. Would definitely recommend, she's lovely :)”

“Ashley is a true animal lover and a receptive sitter. He listens to what you need and makes sure it is delivered. My dog was very calm and my home tidy on my return. I hope he will sit for us again.”

“5 stars across the board. Blake had a great time with Paula. He played and roached within 2 days, which is highly unusual for him. I received regular updates from Paula, can't recommend enough.”

“Jeff is a natural with dogs and clearly has a wealth of experience. Clemmie took to him straight away and judging from the photos they've had a fab time together with lots of walking, playing and enrichment - thanks again, we'll definitely be in touch again!”

“I cannot recommend Emily enough. She was the first sitter to be we have ever left our new anxious rescue dog with and she was not only extremely patient, but a calming presence and extremely empathetic to her unique needs. Emily came by in advance and ensure she understood Tilly’s needs and tendencies and took extra care to make our very shy dog as comfortable as possible. She was also extremely communicative and kept us informed throughout her stay. Thanks again Emily! We can’t wait to have you back someday.”

“My Benny had a lovely time with Sophie. She stayed overnight and looked after my place well. I enjoyed the photos and little updates she sent. Highly recommend Sophie and I will definitely be booking again if our diaries align.”
“Really delighted to have found Leanne, who looked after my two fur babies and stayed in my home while we were away for several nights. Absolute professional - dogs were really relaxed and calm when we arrived home which is always a good sign and the house was absolutely spotless! She messaged frequently, sending updates and reassurances. I would certainly recommend her.”

“We left our two bouncy boys with Jess so we could have a long weekend away. I was nervous but Jess immediately made me feel at ease. She took wonderful care of our boys! Daily walks, play and lots of fuss. She gave us daily updates with photos and videos. We definitely will book with Jess again and we recommend!?”

“Kelsey was great! She was really communicative from the start and was more than happy to meet our pup beforehand, which made everything feel much more comfortable and less overwhelming on the day. While we were out, she kept us updated with photos, which we really appreciated. She’s super friendly, easy to get along with, and clearly a natural with dogs, our pup took to her straight away. We’re so glad to have found someone we trust and are already looking forward to booking with her again!”

About: As a proud owner of a lovely long-haired dachshund, dogs are a huge part of my daily life. I'm offering reliable dog walking and dog sitting services within the Barry area. I know how important it is to find someone you trust with your pet, and I promise to bring plenty of care, attention, and love to every walk or sitting session. Let's chat about how I can help keep your dog happy and wagging! I have recently been made redundant, so I am available Monday - Friday for any appointment. I am available from 8am till evenings. Weekends on special request. Whether I am in your home or mine, your dog's safety and happiness are my top priorities. In your home, I strictly follow their established feeding, walking, and sleeping routines to keep them stress-free. At my place in Barry, they’ll enjoy a secure, cozy environment and a friendly companion in my long-haired dachshund. For outdoor time, we’ll explore local spots like Porthkerry or Romilly Park, completely tailored to their energy levels. I treat every guest pup with the exact same love and care I give my own!

About: I have grown up with dogs and have extensive hands-on experience caring for them throughout my life. I currently have four dogs of my own and have cared for six dogs in total over the years, giving me experience with a range of breeds, personalities, and care needs. As a dog owner, I understand the importance of providing regular exercise, companionship, and attentive care. I am confident handling dogs on walks, maintaining routines, and ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have experience walking dogs for others and understand the trust owners place in someone caring for their beloved pets. I am passionate about animals and enjoy spending time outdoors, making dog walking and pet care something I genuinely love. I will always treat your pet with the same care, patience, and attention that I give my own dogs. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I currently work part-time evening shifts, which means I am available throughout most mornings and afternoons for dog walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting. This gives me plenty of flexibility to provide dogs with the time, attention, and exercise they need. I am also completely available on most Wednesdays and weekends, making me a great option for longer walks, regular care, or pet sitting while owners are away. As a dog owner myself, caring for animals is already a part of my everyday life, and I genuinely enjoy spending time outdoors and ensuring pets are happy, active, and well cared for. When caring for pets in their owner's home, I aim to maintain their usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. I will follow all instructions provided regarding feeding, exercise, medication, and any specific needs or preferences your pet may have. Safety is my top priority. During walks, I ensure dogs are kept securely on lead where required, remain attentive to their surroundings, and avoid situations that may cause stress or discomfort. I am experienced around dogs of different sizes and temperaments and always use a calm, patient approach. While pet sitting, I will provide plenty of companionship, playtime, and attention, as well as regular toilet breaks, fresh water, and exercise. I understand that inviting someone into your home requires trust, and I will always treat your property with respect and care. I am happy to provide updates and photos during visits or stays so you can feel confident that your pet is happy, safe, and well looked after while you are away.
“Milla was amazing!!! She came to meet Arthur before her stay and Arthur loved her. She sent me regular updates and photo's whilst I was away. I couldn't have chosen anyone better. Would have her again anytime. Thank you so much Milla.”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs and caring for them comes naturally to me. I love taking my dog, Mylo, out for walks - rain or shine! I am a trustworthy individual and will treat your furry friend with all the love and care as if they were my own😊 I work from home in the week and would love some extra company! I am available most weekend for boarding and available any day for walks!l I live in a dog-loving home with a big fenced garden and plenty of toys! My fur baby, Mylo, is very friendly and would enjoy the company of another dog/s.
“Josh and Marcus were absolutely fantastic while dog sitting my two dogs and looking after my home for five days. From start to finish, their service was brilliant. Their communication was excellent — I always felt informed and reassured, and they were quick to respond to any messages. They sent the most wonderful pictures of my dogs, which really put my mind at ease and showed just how happy and well cared for they were. It was clear they genuinely cared, not just about the dogs, but about my home as well. Everything was spotless when I returned, and my dogs were relaxed and content — the best sign of all! They truly went above and beyond in every way. I can’t thank them enough and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring, and professional sitters. Thank you both so much!”

“Emily was absolutely fantastic. She was great with communication before and during, spoilt honey rotten and clearly looked after her well, as we came back to a very happy doggo! Would definitely book again.”

About: I'm a clean, tidy, considerate person who has taken care of pets in other people's homes ever since I was little. Dogs are very good for my mental health and I really enjoy being in the company of cats too. My ex-boyfriends have always had dogs which I have enjoyed looking after when we’ve been together (and been very sad to leave!). My cat Crazy Bob sadly passed away when I was 19, and my current landlord doesn’t allow pets - plus every housemate I’ve had since graduating uni is allergic to cats - so I can’t have them in my own home. Therefore this is the best way for me to have quality time with animals. I am very happy to send daily photo and video updates as I know how hard it is when you are missing your best friends! I currently work 9-5 in a hybrid capacity between the office and from home. I wfh Thurs-Fri and I have my weekends free. I am available after 8pm on Thursdays and from Friday - Sunday I am available all day. I like to care for pets by following their established routine. Dogs for example, whether that’s taking regular short - long walks, playtime, time off lead, having the occasional treat, staying on the lead, socialising with other dogs or watching TV at home, having a healthy amount of meals and having plenty of cuddles!

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and have two of my own back home: a Samoyed and a Poodle, which I miss very much🥺, And I’m used to different personalities, ages, and needs. They’re completely different, which has taught me how to understand each dog individually. I’ve trained my own dogs, including crate training, potty training, and basic commands like sit, stay, spin, paw and recall, so I’m confident handling behaviour in a calm and consistent way. I also enjoy making dog friendly treats and I’m very aware of what’s safe and unsafe for dogs. I’m a graduating student staying in Cardiff over the summer, so I have a very flexible schedule and can give dogs plenty of time, attention, and love. I have an easy access to a park and a garden, which is ideal for walks and outdoor time. I acquire an enhanced DBS check for added reassurance. I’m happy to help with anything from walks and day care to longer stays, and can also support with basic training if necessary :) I’m available throughout the week for walks, day care, and overnight stays, so I can be really flexible depending on what you need. I’m also quite an active person and love my morning walks, so having a little companion with me would make it even better My home is set up to be dog friendly and clean, so it’s a comfortable environment where dogs can settle in easily. I have access to a garden for quick toilet breaks. And I don’t have any other pets at home
“Ethan is fantastic with our puppy Mac. His communication throughout the time sitting is amazing, and we feel really comfortable and at ease throughout the day knowing that he’s being well looked after. Thank you so much!”

About: With lifelong experience caring for a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and poultry. I provide reliable, attentive, and compassionate pet care. I currently look after my three crazy Cockerpoos, Woody, Mabel, and Gwen, my cat, Pearl and ten chickens, and I have previously cared for breeds ranging from Yorkshire Terriers to Labradors. I am confident with grooming, administering medication, and managing different temperaments and routines. Friends, neighbours and family have trusted me for years as their designated pet sitter. I know how nerve-racking it is to leave your pet in someone else’s care. I treat every pet as if they were my own, giving them plenty of love, patience, and attention. I’m currently available full-time and can offer very flexible scheduling, including weekdays, weekends, and short-notice bookings. Your pets will always get the care and attention they deserve! For dog walks, I have access from my home to a private woodland, providing a safe, secure, and stimulating environment for pets to explore, if that’s what is preferred! While I don’t offer home boarding due to my own three dogs and cat, I ensure all pets in my care receive individual attention, exercise, and supervision in a controlled, safe setting. When caring for pets in their own home, I provide attentive, loving care tailored to their routine. This includes feeding, walks, playtime, administering medication if needed, and lots of cuddles and attention. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away, keeping you updated so you have peace of mind.
“Alice looked after our dog for a long weekend. She arranged a meet and greet beforehand and we could see that our dog was very comfortable with her. Communication was very good while we were away with photos and she also checked that we were on time to get home as expected. I would recommend Alice and will definitely use her again.”

Leanne looked after our two boys for four nights during a trip to Venice. Would definitely recommend using her services as Leanne was brilliant from start to finish. We arranged a meet & greet beforehand so that the boys could familiarise themselves with her and then we received regular updates, including pics whilst away. We will be using Leanne again (hopefully in June) for our next break away. Your little ones will be in safe hands, you can rest easy knowing that when you come home they will be content and will have enjoyed their time with her. Our house was left spotless! Thank you Leanne.
Rosie looked after my two labradors in my house this last weekend. This is the first time I had not had family sit my dogs and was a little nervous. I needn't have been, Rosie was absolutely fabulous with both dogs! She sent me regular updates and photos and also left the house spotless. I would not hesitate to book her again would happily recommend her to family and friends.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Vale of Glamorgan choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
