“Melissa took great care of Obi and provided regular updates for us. She was very responsive to messages and arrived and left on time. We wouldn't hesitate to book her again - thank you Melissa! :)”

“Brad had great communication from the first time I messaged him, he came ahead of the booking to meet Lola and saw the booking through as requested. He was nice and considerate the whole time and Lola loved him. She is strong and pulls on walks but Brad managed her well. We can home to a happy pup and cared for home. Will 100% book Brad again.”

“Lisa was such a pleasure to have looking after our little one. He had a lot of fun and enjoyed all of the cwtches. Lisa kept us updated with pictures and stories which we adored. Truly a pleasure. Hopefully we will be able to book you again in the future 🤞💚”

“Alicia was absolutely fantastic with my dog, Skye, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. Skye is quite anxious and reactive around new people, so I was a little nervous, but Alicia took the time to do a meet and greet beforehand and really invested time in getting to know her. She even brought a ball with her, gave Skye lots of treats and fuss, and made her feel completely at ease. I was so impressed by how relaxed Skye was with Alicia – that’s not something she does with many people, so it really speaks volumes about how kind, patient and understanding Alicia is. Alicia arrived on time, kept me updated, and looked after both Skye and my home with great care and respect. It gave me real peace of mind knowing Skye was in such capable hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Alicia again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable and trustworthy sitter.”

“Brianna is an incredible and responsible sitter. She has looked after our sausage dog Chip a number of times and stayed overnight with him. She is reliable and gentle with Chip. Chip is a very nervous boy and takes a while to warm up to people, he is very fond of Brianna and he even lets her pick him up (very few people hold this title).”

“Michael was amazing with Ruby. Nothing but great things to say, incredibly respectful, easy to communicate with. Kept us updated and even bought my beautiful girl a toy. I couldn’t reccomend Michael more. I will be 100% using him in future.”

“Nairere replied to my last minute request within the hour and was really accommodating with times etc. my doggie took to her right away, a lovely calm greeting. Without me asking, Nairere kept me up to date with messages and pics of the lovely times they were having. My flight back was delayed and although I offered for Nairere to leave as it was late, she insisted on waiting until we got back, which was after midnight. Thank you, Nairere! An absolute pleasure to get to know you and hope we can have you look after our whippet wonder again soon! Xxx”

“Rhos was great looking after our 2 dogs and 2 cats. They immediately felt at ease with her and were so well cared for during her stay. We had lots of updates and photos and were really comfortable that our boys and girl were being well looked after. Thank you so much Rhos.”

“Amber house sat with our Springer Spaniel recently who has separation anxiety, and she was great. She is very understanding of a dog's needs and focused on building trust. I'll happily book her again in future!”

“Bryony was our life saver and stepped in to dogsit 3 days before the weekend after another sitter let us down. She even squeezed in a meet and greet in that short time. She has a quiet confidence and was really quickly comfortable with our anxious pooch. She also left the house spotless. Would definitely recommend.”

About: Hello, I’m Emma. I have looked our animals for over 15 years and have a lot of experience when it comes to pet / house sitting. I am also an experienced small dog walker. I currently have 2 cats called Biscuit and Linda. No animal is too much hassle, just ask. I have also owned hamsters and a Yorkshire terrier. Please message me with any questions you may have. I work from home Monday- Friday so I am able to pet sit in the mornings and after work. I can also house/ pet sit if required. I will make sure your pets are well cared for in your home and have everything they need. I can also maintain the house while you are aware, if anything extra is required.

“Rhiannon is an outstanding pet sitter - communicative, reliable, and handles one of my cat’s anxiety peeing so calmly. My second cat is a very shy guy and yet he is incredibly relaxed with Rhiannon. Would give six stars if I could!”

“We used Jake for the first time to look after our poodle Betsi on our home a couple of nights ago whilst we went to a concert. He was great! Betsi was really happy when we came back and seemed very happy to have been with Jake. Betsi is my Assistance Dog and as such can have separation anxiety as she's not used to being away from me, but she seemed to cope fine in Jake's capable hands! Jake came for a meet & greet first, and was great at keeping us updated with pics etc during the evening which was really reassuring for me. Thanks Jake! We'll definitely be using you again, and I'd highly recommend if you have a cat or dog that needs sitting in your home.”

“My nervous, shy kitten took to Katie straight away and brought a toy to play within 5 mins of meeting her. She's been brilliant, extremely reliable and dropped some pictures over during the stay so we could see the cats were happy. 100% recommended, will be booking Katie again!”

“Isobel was amazing with Teg! Great communication throughout the stay, regular pictures and updates which we loved. We would be glad to have Isobel back to look after Teg! Thank you :)”

What a great job. He went above and way beyond for my pet He lived very far from our house and would have been very far to travel to and from his daily work so he decided to take time off work to be with my dog. My dog was a handful I'm sure as he is a big boy puppy. He sent in video footage 2x daily of the walks he did and sent alot of pictures too. Very patient, caring and loving of my dog. Always thinking of the dogs best interests Highly recommended. We will never use kennels again

Melissa was fantastic! She took the time to meet Poe first, and during her visit sent regular updates. She was polite, left the house as you'd expect and most importantly Poe loved having her here and it was like we never left when we came back. Would highly recommend!

Bryony was our life saver and stepped in to dogsit 3 days before the weekend after another sitter let us down. She even squeezed in a meet and greet in that short time. She has a quiet confidence and was really quickly comfortable with our anxious pooch. She also left the house spotless. Would definitely recommend.

Maddie has been absolutely fantastic looking after my two cats over the last couple of days. As they have only been with me for three weeks since being adopted from Cats Protection, I was naturally a little anxious about leaving them so soon. Maddie went above and beyond, making sure they were well fed, spent time playing with them, keeping them company, and even taking care of cleaning out their litter tray. It was clear that she genuinely cared about their wellbeing and helped them feel comfortable and settled while I was away. I came home to two happy, relaxed cats, which gave me great peace of mind. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Maddie to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy pet sitter. Thank you so much, Maddie!

At very short notice, Lisa came to sit with Ted and was absolutely brilliant! Excellent communication from the onset. Lisa kept us up to date with lovley photographs of Ted throughout the night. We would highly recommend Lisa as a sitter and will definitely be in touch when we are next in Cardiff!

Frankie was absolutely brilliant looking after my dog over the weekend. She was very good with Danny and incredibly patient with him. She took the time to learn his routine and commands, which meant he was able to keep up with his training while I was away. I really appreciated all the updates and photos, as it gave me complete peace of mind knowing how he was getting on. I genuinely felt that he was in very good hands with Frankie and would definitely recommend her.

Georgia was fantastic! We had a previsit so that we were both comfortable with the situation looking after my elderly cat who is on several different types of medication. I cannot fault a thing, Jerry was happy and Georgia left my place spotless! Easy and quick comms as well which was fabulous. 12/10!!

What an amazing 1st time experience of using Rover. Couldn’t have wished for better than Maya. She looked after our 13 year old dog as if he were her own - plenty of cwtshes & short walks (with plenty of pics!) The house was immaculate as well. She even came round the night before to meet us & Macs as we were leaving early the day of the sitting. Diolch/ thanks Maya - we’ll be in touch soon for our next trip away

Lydia house / pet sat for us as we jetted off on our two week holidays. This was the first time we had ever had anyone stay in the house and look after our cats so we were quite apprehensive. But I can say Lydia kept us up to date and everything went smoothly. Will definitely be booking with Lydia again, thank you!

Rachel is an outstanding pet sitter. Clear and friendly communication before and during the sitting, photos and short updates every day (without me even asking) - which put my mind at rest and allowed me to enjoy my holiday. Rachel left the house beautifully and even gave a cute hand written report on the pets and a thank you card. I couldn’t have wished for better care for my pets 🐶🐱🐱❤️🌟🙏🏽

Nia was great, and really helped us out at relatively short notice. She even made the time to pop over after work to meet Bonnie in advance, which we really appreciated. Proof of life photos showed a very relaxed doggo, and she was very relaxed when we got home later in the evening.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Cardiff walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cardiff choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
