“Just picked up Barney from Emily and he is so chilled. He clearly had a wonderful time. Emily has been great. Right from the first contact she put Barney (and me) at ease with her calm manner. She sent some lovely pics during the weekend and her handover when we picked Barney up showed how attentive and caring she has been. We would definitely recommend her.”

“Rupert has looked after our sprocker a lot lately for a mixture of daycare and boarding, accommodating very short notice requests due to family emergencies. Cannot recommend Rupert enough. His communication is great with daily updates and pics. Rupert is very attentive and ensures normal routines are carried out. Our sprocker feels so at home with him and is now best friends with his kind natured dog Cali. Thank you Rupert, we will no doubt be booking in again soon!”

About: I have taken care of a wide range of breeds from Border Collie to Whippet to Chihuahua. As you can imagine they have very different needs so I take pride in understanding what each dog needs. I have also looked after various other animals, including; cats/ rats/ hamsters/ rabbits for family, friends and clients. I currently study at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, so am fully available on weekends or lunchtime/ evenings throughout the week! Out of term time I am fully available. I have a fenced and secure back garden with no other pets. I live less than a ten minute walk from Bute Park (dog central).
“Pamela and family took on sitting Cidu at short notice after another booking was unavoidably cancelled. Pamela met with us beforehand to make sure she got on with her own dog. Pamela sent a few messages during the week to reassure us and Cidu seemed very happy when we collected her and seemed to have formed a good relationship with Pamela and her family. We would definitely use Pamela again.”

“Would highly recommend! My-Yen was extremely accommodating with our holiday dates and Honey has come home happy and content after a week in her family home. We had issues with flights on the day of pick up and My-Yen was incredibly reassuring and flexible around timings. Brilliant communication! We wouldn't hesitate to use this service again!”

“Ozzy had the best time with Ffion and Ollie. They made him feel like part of the family, and looked after him so well. He had lots of trips to the park and enjoyed sunbathing in the garden. They sent plenty of updates and photos of his adventures. Would rebook with them in a heartbeat.”

“I cannot fault Sev & Austin at all! Although the service is just a carer for my boy, It's a plus to see an extra face just so my baby can share out the love in him! I had very good communication from sev, updates every now and again as I requested (I didn't want to stress while he's away so this helped) Asked all the right questions as and when needed, he's got a unique personality and he is a bit of a unique breed so I definitely cannot fault you at all, some people see it as a bit of a challenge but it was a ball park as I still got on with my duties while he was away with no issues, I was happy seeing my boy spread his wings & live his best life surrounded by love and care which is exactly what I feel like I got! My boys exhausted now that he's back home but I can tell his hearts received a lot of warmth and joy over this weekend! Thank you guys there's nothing more I can ask for 🙏🏽”

“I was very nervous leaving my girl Belle for a week but Kevin and Lauren were very understanding, they sent me lots of updates and photos to reassure me. Belle has come back very tired and contented, would 100% recommend them, and will definitely book them again in the future. Thank you both so much.”

“Leo had the best time with Natalie. She kept us updated throughout and gave him lots of walks with Winston. Winston was a lovely dog and there were no issues at all. We will definitely use their services again!”

“I couldn’t recommend Joshua enough, I’ve had a few people on this app watch my Dog in the past and Joshua is amazing and kept me up to date with photos everyday. I have never felt more relaxed leaving Cocoa with a sitter. I can’t rate him enough! He is a lovely guy and very relaxed! I will defo be using Josh again in the future 10/10! P.S. I’m glad Cocoa behaved for you and by the sounds of it he had a fabulous time!”

“Samantha was great with Foxy. Happy for a meet and greet beforehand to check that Foxy and her own dog got along. She had Foxy for the week for us at short notice, which was a life saver!”

“The absolute best dog sitters you could ask for. Elle and Tom looked after Oggie on our wedding day last Saturday. We met before-hand and it was immediately clear they are 100% the biggest dog lovers and the right people for the job! They came and picked him up just after the ceremony on the day which helped out so much. Honestly they are both wonderful people who were fantastic with our big boy! 10/10 I would recommend any day. THANK YOU.”

Alys was a fantastic sitter for our Cavapoo. She was easy to communicate with, gave us regular updates and sent pictures every day. She really made our dog feel at home and took him to his favourite parks for his walks, we can tell he’s had a lovely time with her. Thank you - would definitely be happy to book with Alys again.

Steph took the time to get to know Milo in advance of his stay, which was fantastic and muchly appreciated. Milo loved staying with Steph, he was very spoilt and would stay again in a heartbeat. Steph is wonderful and I would highly recommend her and I hope to see her again with my four legged friend

Helen and her family took brilliant care of Ron when we went away... he had a fantastic time!! Ron can be quite a handful but they took him out for wonderful walks, looked after him in the hot weather and gave him tons of cwtches!!! If anything, I think he was gutted when I went to pick him up!!

I would happily recommend Agnieszka. She was lovely and great with our Cockapoo. We were away for 2 nights. The first night Rusty didn't really settle, but Agnieszka was patient and compassionate and by the second day Rusty had settled. He slept comfortably the second night and came home very content and happy. Thanks Agnes.

Bil had such a wonderful time with Lauryn and Clover, and I couldn’t be more grateful. It’s clear Lauryn is genuinely very thoughtful, attentive, and truly goes the extra mile for every animal in her care. Clover is an absolute sweetheart as well. She’s such a lovely dog with a friendly temperament, and watching Bil interact was genuinely heartwarming. Thank you for making Bil’s stay such a special experience. I’m sure he cannot to wait to stay with you both again

Really lovely girls, we have been nervous about leaving our anxious rescue with anyone but they put us at ease and he clearly enjoyed his time with them, they obviously spoiled him with cuddles and gave him lots of love. They shared lovely pictures of him during his stay, it was so nice to not worry and know he was in safe hands. Would definitely recommend x

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
