“This was the first time our special boy had been away from someone he knows. Josh was super patient and understanding of his nervousness and kept us updated on progress. Our boy certainly didn't seem distressed when we picked him up and I'm sure that he'd be very keen to go back for the copious treat feeding and outings that he experienced. There are very few people I would trust to look after my angel but would trust Josh to look after him again.”

“Laura was fab with our dog, we felt very reassured that Laura would take great care of her, and we recieved regular photo updates which showed Polly having a great time. We will happily book Laura again when we next need a dog sitter.”

“Jackie and family were fantastic with Wally from start to finish. She made a real effort to understand his needs beforehand and ensured he felt completely at home during his stay. Communication was great, and she was very flexible with drop-off and pick-up, which made everything so easy for us. It’s clear she genuinely cares, and Wally came back relaxed, happy, and very well looked after. We felt totally confident leaving him in her care and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a safe, welcoming environment for their dog!”

“My doggie absolutely fell in love with Ellie and that’s the best I could ever ask from a sit while I’m away. Ellie did a fantastic job updating us every day with pictures and videos and generally my little girl’s mood, activities et cetera, it was very sweet. Ellie is a really really lovely girl with a very relaxed style that animals seem to love. I will 100% use Ellie’s pet sitting services again and I strongly recommend her. Thank you, Ellie!”

“Mac loved his stay here, with Kylie, her lovely family, and their dog Remus. He ran in when we arrived, and Kylie updated me throughout with photos of the two dogs loving playing together! Perfect!”

“Beatriz is a darling and I couldn’t have been happier leaving our pooch in her hands. She communicates well whilst you’re away, and it was a comfort to know our beloved and rather old dog was in safe hands. I’m so grateful to her - he’s had a lovely holiday too and has returned home happy and relaxed. Thank you Beatriz xxx”

About: My background as a professional animal trainer with 10 years of hands-on experience, including working with a wide range of species means I have a deep understanding of animal behaviour and behaviour modification. This helps me read body language, prevent issues before they arise, and support pets who may be anxious, reactive, or who struggle adjusting to new environments. I place a strong emphasis on high welfare standards and kind, ethical handling. I’m patient, calm, and consistent, and I tailor my care to each animal’s individual needs. I’m comfortable supporting young animals as they learn good habits, and providing thoughtful care for senior pets who may need a slower pace or extra consideration and everything in between. Above all, I aim to make pets feel safe, understood, and relaxed while giving owners peace of mind. We are animal care professionals with years of experience and a love for all animals. Our bungalow is enclosed and has a garden designed to be engaging for dogs and cats through paths and scents.
“This is Buddy's second stay with Tracey and Simon and he didn't want to leave! As I tried to put him in the car he took himself back to their front door 😂 A clear sign that he had the best holiday with them! Thank you for taking care of our boy and loving him like your own.”

“Nige spent two nights with Charlotte and had a fab time. It was Nigel’s first time meeting Charlotte but Charlotte very quickly made Nigel feel at home and he seemed to settle in very quickly. We were also very comforted by how prepared Charlotte was in advance and the updates that we received throughout. We would definitely ask Charlotte to look after Nige again and would certainly recommend to anyone else!”

“Ellie was great with our pup, especially as he can be a bit unruly. She was prompt with responses and pick up/drop off and very friendly. Milo loved his weekend with her, and slept solidly for the next day so must have had a fun time :)”

“Zia had an awesome 3-day stay with Tom and his partner! They were both so friendly and easy-going, and it was obvious from the start that they really love dogs. I got loads of photos and regular updates, which was brilliant and made me feel completely at ease. Zia looked so happy the whole time and came back relaxed, content, and clearly very well looked after. A huge thank you to both of them for taking such great care of our old lady. We wouldn't hesitate to book them again and would recommend you to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy sitter!”

About: I’ve walked and taken care of dogs for the last 15 years, but I’ve always been desperate for my own dog. Me and my partner Nathan finally got Otis, a Greek rescue dog 5 years ago, who we’re absolutely obsessed with. As Otis was very nervous when he came I am very used to anxious or timid dogs. In time he has really grown to be an affectionate, confident boy, who is a great influence around other nervous dogs. I’m currently working a hybrid role, meaning I’m out at work 1-2 days a week with the rest at home. I take Otis out multiple times a day, so lots of opportunities for your dog to get some exercise. On weekends we often go out for long country walks. My dog is very calm and great with other dogs. I currently live in a small house with a decently sized fenced-in garden, but also have plenty of green space on our doorstep for walking. I’d want to make sure your dog felt comfortable so would take time to get to know your dog from you - what they like and don’t like, habits, body language. Safety would be my number one priority - as my dog started out very nervous and flighty I’m very hot on security. Our flat is not large but it’s very safe, with lots of dog toys and beds around.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Portishead
Charlotte was absolutely amazing with our two dogs. She had them overnight and was really flexible with drop off and pick up times which really helped us. Yogi and Teddy settled in straight away and Charlotte kept us updated throughout the night and next morning. Then when we picked themi up both dogs were really happy so much so I think Yogi wanted to stay longer. Trusting someone with yours dogs is hard but Charlotte was brilliant and would definitely recommend and use her again
