“Chris was so welcoming and reassuring, sending some great photos to show our dog was enjoying his holiday as much as we were. It meant we all had a wonderful time and would have the confidence to do it again. I think Jack will really miss his new friend Lottie!”

“Brendan and Ann looked after our dog for a couple of nights while we were away with friends. They were absolutely amazing and couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. You can instantly tell they have years of experience. Our dog is a big chicken with a grumpy terrier personality at times, but they were brilliant with him and we could instantly tell he enjoyed his stay. We wouldn't hesitate to leave Todd with them again and would highly recommend Brendan and Ann to anyone looking for a dog sitter ☺️ Thank you both!! ♥️”

About: I've cared for dogs for 17 years, starting with family pets and moving onto neighbours and friends. I have experience with both large and small dogs - my first was a border collie, and my most recent a chihuahua. I have skills in senior dog care, as my last three dogs have all been 8+. I am particularly fond of medium-large dogs, though I'll never shy away from a petite pal! I'm currently working from home 4 days a week, and am available most evenings and weekends for walks and sittings. I regularly take longer walks in the evening, and am often out and about over lunchtime as well. I have a pet-safe apartment and access to a dog-friendly park. I live in a quiet area and can offer my full attention, which is perfect for those anxious or older dogs who need a bit of reassurance.

“Lara and her family were so welcoming and wanted to know all about Rocket, our spaniel, before she stayed with them while we were away. They made her so welcome and we appreciated receiving photos of our dog having a great time with Lara. We felt that she was well looked after and would be happy to spend time with Lara again in the future.”

“Paddy had a wonderful time with Lucy and her family. He clearly loved hanging out with another whippet and was so well cared for. Paddy & Max seem very similar and it’s fab to find someone who knows how to look after the eccentricities of a sighthound - 100% recommend!”

“Macarena did an amazing job taking care of our Bernese Mountain Dog Rowdy for 4 nights. Her communication was brilliant throughout with plenty of photos of her and Rowdy having a great time together. Rowdy came home happy and healthy and I would definitely use Macarena again in the future or happily recommend her to anyone who asked.”

“Lynsey and her family took great care of Vinnie. He returned home tired from lots of lovely walks and very happy. Comms were great and we felt really relaxed knowing he was being so well cared for.”

“Henri had a fantastic time with Lily and her family. She was so well cared for we are very glad to have found Lily and will 100% use again. She has a great environment for pets and I would highly recommend Lily if you need someone to look after your pet.”

“We are so lucky to have found Helen to look after Eddie - she is great! She sends regular updates, which are very reassuring. He’s clearly right at home when he stays with Helen :)”

“Once again another 5 Star review for Mel after Doug had a few days on holiday at hers! He clearly loves being there as we saw some great photos of him enjoying the walks and garden, as well as snuggling up afterwards. We couldnt recommend Mel high enough as a trusted sitter!”

“We had an incredibly positive experience with the dog boarding service provided by Shniele. The daily updates, including photos and videos, not only reassured us but was evident that our dog felt comfortable and happy in Shniele’s care. We greatly appreciate the excellent service and peace of mind Shniele offered during our time away. Highly recommended!”

“Richanne took care of our 8 month old pup with utmost care and attention, sharing us videos of him interacting with her dog throughout and keeping us informed of his behaviour. She even gave us great advice on how to improve his walking behaviour which we will take onboard for future use”

Tim was very welcoming to us and our dog. He took note of our detailed requests. Bertie clearly felt at home straight away. Tim provided videos, photos and updates daily which we appreciated. We are very happy to have found him and will be using him again.

Francesca was amazing during the whole week, she was happy to meet up before hand which was great for ferno as she can be quite nervous initially. Francesca sent photos throughout the week and kept us updated on how she was doing. The photos were really good! Would definitely recommend her!

I booked a last-minute stay for my dog with Emma and had a great experience. She was super friendly and easy to communicate with, and sent me lots of photos and videos throughout his stay, which I really appreciated. My dog clearly had a great time with her and came home very happy! I’d definitely recommend Emma and will happily book with her again in the future 😊

Thank you so much for taking such great care of our Kia. It gave me real peace of mind knowing she was in such kind and caring hands. I could tell kia was happy, comfortable, and well looked after. Thank you for sending updates and pictures every day. I truly appreciate your patience, love, and attention, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for a wonderful dog sitter. Many thanks again

Annabel is such a lovely person and we were really satisfied when she looked after our dogs. We have 2 dachshunds who are lovely but can be picky and stubborn but they were very happy to be with Annabel and she let them make themselves at home. We had no issues at all and we would not hesitate to ask her to dog sit again in the future 😃.

Anna was a perfect sitter for our French bulldog. She was extremely flexible with drop off & collection and nothing was too much trouble. Anna always responded quickly and kept us updated throughout his stay and communication was excellent. We would 100% recommend Anna and will hopefully be using her again very soon.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
