“Alicia has been amazing with Skye. She is reliable, responds quickly to messages, and has been so patient with my anxious dog. She really takes the time to make Skye feel comfortable and doesn’t just pop in and leave, she spends quality time playing with her and giving her lots of attention. It gives me real peace of mind knowing Skye is safe, happy and well cared for whenever I’m not there. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Alicia to anyone looking for someone who genuinely cares about their pet. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Lisa did a fantastic job looking after our cat Baobao while we were away on holiday. She is friendly, reliable, good at communication, and most importantly gave our cat lots of attention and cuddles. Highly recommended!”

“The best sitter I’ve ever had. Sent cute updates of our cat, and won her over. Got in touch if not sure about something. Felt secure knowing that Mireia was watching over Rosie :)”

“Nikki was great, we had to book very last minute and that wasn't a problem at all. Nikki was very good at communicating, keeping us informed about our cat and sent us a picture during her visit which we really appreciate. We will definitely be in touch for future visits 👌”

“Emily is a great sitter! She dropped in on my cat Leo over the Christmas period. She was attentive with sending photos and updates and did lots of playing with Leo. Will definitely book Emily again!”

About: I’ve grown up with both dogs and cats all my life. My 13 year old cat Izzie passed away last year and I haven’t been in a position to get another pet just yet. Please let me spend quality time with your babies as I am missing having a furry friend around. I live with my partner on a third floor flat. Although we have no garden, we are both very active and enjoy spending time outdoors. Our flat is calm, clean and a safe space for pets to feel comfortable. We would welcome pets on the furniture and the bed. We have cared for friend’s dogs and cats in our flat for several years. I work for the NHS Monday - Friday but work from home every Friday, with flexibility to do so some other days too. I work for the NHS Monday - Friday, working from home every Friday, with flexibility to do the same on other occasions throughout the week if needed. I finish work at 4.30pm so am home all evening. My weekends are fully flexible. I live in a third floor flat with my partner. We currently have no outdoor space but are both very active should your pet need regular exercise. We live a 2 minute walk from Roath Park!
“Meowser was obviously very well looked after, she was content and happy when I arrived back from travel. Poppy was great, communication was good and she sent many photos. Cat litter was nice and tidy when I arrived back. Great job!”

“Kerri did an excellent job of looking after Jojo and Doris, providing regular updates abd pictures of their day, I could see how happy they were which made me feel reassured. Already booked Kerri for my next absence away from home, which I know my furbabies will be happy to see her again.”

About: I have a rescue cat which has been with me for 6 years. The mother of the cat abandoned her when she was only 2 weeks old so I had to feed her milk from the bottle, make sure she can do her toilet properly and keep her warm while she was going to sleep. Alongside that I have looked after several other animals such as tortoises, birds and dogs. I’m the happiest when I’m around animals. I just finished my 1st year in Cardiff uni so I’m mainly free to take care of your little ones as home sits or in the afternoons. Regardless of whether your pet is well trained or not I would like you to know that I won’t be letting them off the lead throughout their time with me. I will make sure to keep you updated during the time they’re with me through photos and videos. I will make sure they get good exercise and their safety/happiness would be at the forefront of my mind at all times.

About: Hi, my name is Maddie and I love cats and dogs! I come from a family of cat-people, so I've looked after five family cats in my life, and a dog. Currently I live with my partner and our 10-year-old cat Sooty. In 2019, I took-up pet-sitting alongside my studies at university and regularly looked after three chihuahuas. Now, I'm settled in a job and I'm looking to take up pet-sitting again. I've recently had a few cat-sitting jobs and really enjoyed it. I'm able to provide dog walking, drop-in visits and overnight stays for cats and dogs. I'm also happy to provide additional house-sitting duties - let me know what help you need! I'm happy to see to your pet before and after my day at work. I often finish work early, so I have plenty of time in the afternoon and evenings for extra time with your pet. You can be reassured that your pet is in good hands. I have over 15 years of experience looking after my own pets, family pets and providing pet-sitting services for my community. I'm also a registered volunteer dog-walker with Cardiff Dogs Home. Would you like to have daily updates about your pets well-being? I'm happy to do that and send lots of pictures. Would you rather forget about home and enjoy your time on holiday? I'll respect that, but I will always be in contact regarding any potential health issues. Let me know what works best for you!

About: I’ve taken care of cats and dogs, specifically cats, between the ages of about 8-18! I’ve also helped with newborn bulldog puppy and kitten care, including overnight feedings, playtimes and toilet breaks. I’m currently studying full time at uni, but my campus is easily accessible and my schedule is very much self-made, as it’s all coursework and art based! As someone who has three bulldogs at home, one whom has many health issues, making adjustments to support their needs was especially important! Coming from a family who own a dog-walking field, and are trained in dog health and safety, I know at least the basics of caring for your pet!

About: I’ve been a dog owner for all 20 years of my life. I have three dogs back home—two seniors and one puppy! I’m currently studying drama at Royal Welsh and I miss taking care of my dogs so much! I spent my years in secondary school pet-sitting/house-sitting for people in my community, and I am a very responsible woman who would love to take care of your pet! :) I’m currently a student studying at Royal Welsh, and I am free at midday, evenings, and weekends. I absolutely love an evening walk, and I also welcome less active dogs. I am available to pet-sit overnight. I am currently unable to board at my home, but I am an incredibly meticulous person, and I will treat your home with the utmost respect, most of all ensuring that your pet stays comfortable in their own home!
“Christy is a fantastic sitter, caring and friendly, and happy to send updates to let me know everything is fine. She took time to get to know my cat before her first visit so he was relaxed around her, and when I got home everything was perfect. Thank you!”

“Lydia has looked after my three cats with care and attention to all their needs. She has also left everything clean and tidy.I appreciated all her updates and photos. I would be happy to have Lydia again if she would like to come. Thank you.”
“Bianca kept me updated daily on how Molly and Flo were, 2 cats with very different personalities. She looked after them well. I would definately recommend her will be asking her to look after Molly and Flo in the future.”

“Martha is so lovely, Meg instantly took to her as she obviously adores dogs. Could not have asked for anyone better and we had total confidence in her. Thank you so much Martha we will definitely use you again if we come to Cardiff.”

About: I’m originally from Vietnam and now live in the UK with my British husband, our baby son and our two rescued cats, Lac Lac and Lucy. They have quite an incredible story—I rescued them from the black market in Vietnam when they both were very sick and traumatised. After that, they travelled all the way to the UK with us in 2025. Watching them grow into happy, confident cats has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. My love for animals started long before I became a cat mum. I grew up in a village where animals were simply part of everyday life. Cats, dogs and all kind of other animals were all around me, and helping to care for them taught me from a young age that every animal deserves love, kindness and patience. I’m currently a full-time mum to my young son, which means I have a flexible schedule and spend most of my days at home. This allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care, whether that’s sticking to their usual routine, enjoying extra playtime and walks, or simply keeping them company. I know how reassuring it is to know your pet isn’t being left alone for long periods, and I’ll always make sure they receive the love, care, and attention they deserve. When your pet is with me, they’ll be treated like one of the family—with lots of love, patience, cuddles (only if they approve!), and plenty of photo updates so you can relax knowing they’re happy and well cared for. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry best friend!

About: Animals have always been a massive part of my life. I currently have two cats and grew up with both cats and dogs, so I’m very comfortable caring for pets with different personalities and needs. I’m reliable, patient, and genuinely love spending time with animals, whether that’s playtime, feeding, walks, or just giving them attention and company !! I work from home flexibly, so can work from any location and can always pop out to sit and play with pets! I have two cats of my own so I am used to the routine. I can use your routine so your pet is the most comfortable when being looked after. Please provide me with instruction on how you would like things done or leave it up to me!

Christy was an absolute star with our Mr Blue Cat. Updating us while we were away, giving him loads of care and love and sending us lovely photos. Christy even brought our bins in, watered our plants and tidied up Blue's messy litter toilet stones! When we got home Blue was sooo happy and relaxed. We felt so safe having Christy look after him, we highly recommend her and her skills and we will definitely be asking her back again! Thank you so much again for all your help, Christy. Jessie, David and Mr Blue xxx

Rhiannon was so lovely and accommodating, she made sure Loki was cleaned out and fed and sent photos following each visit. It was so reassuring to know Loki was getting what he needed whilst I was away, i will definitely use you again in the future thank you so much 😊

Annie was an absolute dream of a cat sitter! From the very beginning, her communication was stellar—we received daily, detailed updates and lovely photos that gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. She is remarkably organized, meticulously following all feeding schedules and routine instructions without missing a beat. What truly set Annie apart, however, was her warm and caring nature. Our cat is notoriously shy and usually hides from strangers, but Annie’s patient, gentle approach won her over in no time. By the second day, our sweet cat was coming out for treats and head scratches! We couldn’t have asked for a more trustworthy, thoughtful, and reliable sitter. We will definitely be booking Annie again and cannot recommend her highly enough!

We're so happy to have found Molly to visit our cat when we go away. She is happy to pop in, change litter and even had the tricky task of administering last minute eye drops when our cat developed an eye ulcer. Nothing is too much trouble and I would recommend her every time. Thanks again Molly xx

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace.
