“Mireia has been absolutely incredible taking care of my 3 furry companions; going the extra mile and building a kind and friendly bond with each of them, managing their various needs and personalities with ease, keeping them happy, fed and loved with every visit, incredibly grateful and I can only imagine that they are looking to her next visit!”

“Lovely to have a little overview of Tia’s day and to see photos. Can see from the pictures that Tia enjoyed spending time with Lisa. Really liked that Lisa came to meet Tia prior to today so she wouldn’t be a stranger.”

“Martha is so lovely, Meg instantly took to her as she obviously adores dogs. Could not have asked for anyone better and we had total confidence in her. Thank you so much Martha we will definitely use you again if we come to Cardiff.”

“Rhiannon is amasing and managed to build trust with my very anxious cat Freya. During the recent hot weather she even put a bowl of ice water and damp cloths on the kitchen tile for my girls to cool down. Rhiannon is easy going and extremely responsive to messages. I highly recommend.”

About: What sets me apart is that caring for dogs has always been more than a hobby—it's something I've genuinely loved for as long as I can remember. I've been the primary carer for three family dogs, from raising and training puppies to caring for a senior dog who is now 14 years old. I have experience training puppies and young dogs, helping them learn good manners, basic commands, and positive routines using reward-based methods. I've also rescued an adult Shih Tzu, so I understand that every dog has their own personality and may need patience while settling into a new environment. I'm confident caring for dogs with additional medical needs too. I previously looked after a diabetic Siberian Husky and was responsible for administering her insulin injections, so I'm comfortable following medication schedules and providing attentive care. Over the years I've also spent a lot of time learning about dog behaviour, training, and welfare through books and independent research because it's something I'm genuinely passionate about. I'm currently living and working in Cardiff while my own dogs are back home in North Wales, and I miss having dogs around every day. That's why I'd love to provide your dog with the same care, attention, and affection I'd give my own—whether that's long walks, playtime, cuddles on the sofa, or simply making them feel safe and loved while you're away. I’m currently a trainee clinical psychologist with a very flexible working pattern. I work from home three days a week, work in person two days a week (Tuesday and Wednesday), and usually have weekends free. This flexibility means I can easily fit walks, playtime, toilet breaks, feeding schedules, and plenty of companionship into my day. For drop-ins and walks, I have my own car, so I can travel throughout Cardiff and work around your pet’s routine rather than expecting them to fit around mine. Whether your dog needs an early morning walk, lunchtime company, or an evening visit, I’m happy to accommodate where possible. Whether your pet stays with me or I care for them in your home, their wellbeing will always be my priority. I live alone in a calm environment with access to a secure garden, and I’m used to making my home safe and comfortable for visiting dogs. I know every dog has different routines, boundaries, and preferences, so I’ll always follow your instructions carefully—from feeding and medication to walks, sleeping arrangements, and house rules. I want your pet’s experience to feel as familiar and stress-free as possible. If I’m caring for your pet in your home, I’ll always treat your space with the utmost respect and professionalism. I’m also completely happy with meet-and-greets before booking, and if you have home cameras or any other requests that help you feel reassured while you’re away, I’m more than happy to accommodate them. Building trust with both pets and their owners is incredibly important to me, and I’ll always keep you updated with messages and plenty of photos throughout your pet’s stay.

About: I have experience walking dogs and I am a very active, friendly person who enjoys spending time outdoors. I know lots of great parks and green spaces around Cardiff, and I love running and walking regularly. I am responsible, reliable, and confident with animals, and I always make sure dogs are safe, happy, and well exercised. As a student, I am flexible and looking to build on my experience through regular dog walking and pet sitting. My schedule is very flexible as I am a student, which allows me to fit pet care easily into my daily and weekly routine. I am available most days, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings, and can be flexible around owners’ needs. I am also happy to offer boarding when needed. I enjoy being active, so I can provide regular walks and outdoor time as part of my day. I always prioritise the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of every pet in my care. I make sure they are closely supervised at all times and kept secure during walks and any time spent with me. I am attentive and confident in handling different environments and always follow the owner’s instructions carefully. I provide calm, consistent care, making sure each pet receives the attention, exercise, and routine they need. I treat every animal with patience and respect, and I aim to build trust with both pets and their owners by being reliable and responsible.”

About: Animals have always been an important part of my life, and I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. I have experience caring for both cats and rabbits, including feeding, cleaning, administering basic care, and providing plenty of attention and enrichment. I also have experience looking after pets in their own homes, ensuring they feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I’m patient, dependable, and committed to following your pet’s routine as closely as possible. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, shy and reserved, or a senior who needs a gentler approach, I’ll make sure they receive the care and attention they deserve. I understand how important regular updates are, so I’ll always keep you informed with photos and messages for complete peace of mind. My goal is simple: to make your pet feel happy, secure, and loved while you’re away, so you can travel knowing they’re in safe hands. I have a flexible work schedule, which allows me to adapt to your pet’s needs whenever possible. Whether you need regular visits, weekend care, or last-minute bookings, I’ll do my best to accommodate your schedule. I understand that plans can change, and I’m happy to be flexible when needed to ensure your pet receives reliable, consistent care. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, preferences, and any special requirements so they can feel as relaxed as possible while you’re away. In your home, I’ll treat both your pet and your property with the utmost respect, following your instructions carefully and maintaining your pet’s normal routine. I’ll also provide regular updates and photos, so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in safe and caring hands.

“Jake was fabulous. He went above and beyond to care for our cat, Luna over the holiday period. If you are looking for an attentive cat sitter with experience, Jake is your best option! Thank you so much again. 🥰”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and have two of my own back home: a Samoyed and a Poodle, which I miss very much🥺, And I’m used to different personalities, ages, and needs. They’re completely different, which has taught me how to understand each dog individually. I’ve trained my own dogs, including crate training, potty training, and basic commands like sit, stay, spin, paw and recall, so I’m confident handling behaviour in a calm and consistent way. I also enjoy making dog friendly treats and I’m very aware of what’s safe and unsafe for dogs. I’m a graduating student staying in Cardiff over the summer, so I have a very flexible schedule and can give dogs plenty of time, attention, and love. I have an easy access to a park and a garden, which is ideal for walks and outdoor time. I acquire an enhanced DBS check for added reassurance. I’m happy to help with anything from walks and day care to longer stays, and can also support with basic training if necessary :) I’m available throughout the week for walks, day care, and overnight stays, so I can be really flexible depending on what you need. I’m also quite an active person and love my morning walks, so having a little companion with me would make it even better My home is set up to be dog friendly and clean, so it’s a comfortable environment where dogs can settle in easily. I have access to a garden for quick toilet breaks. And I don’t have any other pets at home
About: I have a rescue cat which has been with me for 6 years. The mother of the cat abandoned her when she was only 2 weeks old so I had to feed her milk from the bottle, make sure she can do her toilet properly and keep her warm while she was going to sleep. Alongside that I have looked after several other animals such as tortoises, birds and dogs. I’m the happiest when I’m around animals. I just finished my 1st year in Cardiff uni so I’m mainly free to take care of your little ones as home sits or in the afternoons. Regardless of whether your pet is well trained or not I would like you to know that I won’t be letting them off the lead throughout their time with me. I will make sure to keep you updated during the time they’re with me through photos and videos. I will make sure they get good exercise and their safety/happiness would be at the forefront of my mind at all times.
“Kerri did an excellent job of looking after Jojo and Doris, providing regular updates abd pictures of their day, I could see how happy they were which made me feel reassured. Already booked Kerri for my next absence away from home, which I know my furbabies will be happy to see her again.”

About: I’ve previously owned a cat myself and genuinely enjoy spending time caring for animals. I also have experience looking after dogs for my boyfriend’s family while they were away or working, so I’m used to being responsible for pets’ routines, feeding, companionship, and overall care. I’m calm, patient, and attentive to different animal personalities, whether they’re energetic and affectionate or more shy and independent. I’ve also helped care for newborn puppies, which taught me the importance of being gentle, observant, and responsible around animals. I’m currently on summer break from university, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of free time to dedicate to pet care. Even when I have occasional coursework or assignments, I’m able to work remotely, which means I can still spend lots of quality time with your cat and maintain their usual routine and care. When caring for pets in their owner’s home, I make sure to follow their usual routine as closely as possible so they feel safe and comfortable. I will feed them on time, refresh their water, keep their litter area clean, and make sure they have a calm and tidy environment. I’ve also regularly cared for dogs for family members while they were away, so I understand the importance of reliability, patience, and keeping pets comfortable in their familiar surroundings. With cats especially, I understand that every personality is different, I’m happy to give affection, playtime, and cuddles if they want it, while also respecting their space if they are more shy or independent. I would treat both your cat and your home with care, patience, and respect.
“Bianca kept me updated daily on how Molly and Flo were, 2 cats with very different personalities. She looked after them well. I would definately recommend her will be asking her to look after Molly and Flo in the future.”

About: I’ve had dogs for over 20 years, mainly greyhounds, and grew up with Jack Russells, so caring for dogs has always been a big part of my life. I have looked after friends and family's dogs and cats, and regularly trust me to walk, feed, and look after their pets, whether that’s for daily care, overnight stays, or longer periods in both my home and theirs. I genuinely love animals and focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and happy. I’m experienced in giving dogs the right balance of exercise, attention, and calm time, depending on their individual needs—whether that’s energetic walks or a more relaxed pace for older dogs. I’m reliable, and both my partner and I are trustworthy, and treat every dog as if they were or own, ensuring they feel loved and well cared for while you’re away. I work full time from home Mon-Fri and usually work one day at the office but this can be very flexible. I often work from home 5 days a week or change my days according to my calendar and pet sitting arrangements. I have an eclosed fenced garden with no back access, I have a front gate and friendly neighbours. I have a very animal friendly home and have looked after dogs of most ages, they are treated as if they are home from home, with parks nearby.
“Emily is a great sitter! She dropped in on my cat Leo over the Christmas period. She was attentive with sending photos and updates and did lots of playing with Leo. Will definitely book Emily again!”

“Poppy looked after our dog Bobby at short notice and did a fab job of keeping us updated with messages and pictures so we felt reassured. Bobby clearly had a good time with her so would definitely recommend.”

About: I’ve been a dog owner for all 20 years of my life. I have three dogs back home—two seniors and one puppy! I’m currently studying drama at Royal Welsh and I miss taking care of my dogs so much! I spent my years in secondary school pet-sitting/house-sitting for people in my community, and I am a very responsible woman who would love to take care of your pet! :) I’m currently a student studying at Royal Welsh, and I am free at midday, evenings, and weekends. About: I’ve taken care of cats and dogs, specifically cats, between the ages of about 8-18! I’ve also helped with newborn bulldog puppy and kitten care, including overnight feedings, playtimes and toilet breaks. I’m currently studying full time at uni, but my campus is easily accessible and my schedule is very much self-made, as it’s all coursework and art based! As someone who has three bulldogs at home, one whom has many health issues, making adjustments to support their needs was especially important! Coming from a family who own a dog-walking field, and are trained in dog health and safety, I know at least the basics of caring for your pet!
About: I am a cheerful, energetic, and huge animal lover who naturally connects with pets. While I don’t currently own a pet of my own, I have plenty of hands-on experience caring for them. I have looked after a Whippet, golden retrievers, Shiba Inu. so I’m well-versed in handling high-energy dogs that love a good run, and I’ve also regularly cat-sat a lovely Garfield cat, which taught me all about giving felines their space while keeping them perfectly pampered. I have endless patience and treat every pet with the utmost care and attention. I can't wait to give your furry family members a safe, happy, and loving environment while you're away! I maintain a flexible part-time schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of quality time to your pets. Always great having Samantha check in on Oreo. It’s lovely having someone who’s on the same wavelength and gives her plenty of love and attention while I’m away. Communication is always excellent, with regular updates and photos, which gives real peace of mind. I’d 100% recommend Samantha to anyone looking for a reliable and caring cat sitter.

Ceri was brilliant at every step of the process - easy to communicate with ahead of time and pro-active with asking questions as needed while I was away. The only downside was that she’s a far better photographer than I am 😂 10/10 - would heartily recommend booking with her.
Hannah was amazing with Jupiter and we had a lot of lovely updates to put us at ease. We asked if she could keep an eye on our garden too hoping she could save some plants in the heat for us and she went above and beyond. Hannah truly cares and you can definitely tell. ☺️
Susan is a lovely, attentive and well organised lady and I'm so glad I engaged her services as a pet sitter. She showed interest and wanted to know me and my cats from the beginning. I felt completely comfortable and at ease and she kept me updated on the visits and if my 2 very shy moggies were showing any sign of being interested in her. I was amazed and delighted to hear and see photo proof that Sparky my shy girl was waiting for her and took a treat from her. Patience and being gentle seems to have worked with one of my moggies, the other may just be harder to win round but I'm very happy, relaxed and I will definitely use her again if she's available. Thank you so much I'm happy my cats are happy.

Becky was a fabulous sitter who managed to make friends with my very shy house cat. She popped in every day and sent regular updates. This was much appreciated as she was looking after Alice during the heat wave! She reassured me that all was well and took perfect care. I highly recommend Becky.

Rhos was great looking after our 2 furbabies, keeping us updated following each visit & sending us photos / videos. Rhos was thourough learning about our cats & their routines on the pre visit & handled our shy cat really well, knowing exactly what to do to win him over in a short time - he even let Rhos giving him some fusses ☺️ Would recommend!

Rhiannon is amasing and managed to build trust with my very anxious cat Freya. During the recent hot weather she even put a bowl of ice water and damp cloths on the kitchen tile for my girls to cool down. Rhiannon is easy going and extremely responsive to messages. I highly recommend.

Louise took wonderful care of our two cats while we were on holiday, sending daily updates and photos showing how much at ease they both were with her. Particularly impressive given how fickle our girl can be, even allowing her to administer daily meds! We will absolutely come to Louise again while we’re away - thanks for putting our minds at ease and looking after Loki and Luna.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
