“Athena loved going to spend the day with Rachel. Rachel invited us to a Meet & Greet first where she got to spend some time with Athena and discuss her routine, commands and general behaviour. This meant their first day together was smooth, with Rachel updating me throughout with pictures. We will be using Rachel's services again and highly recommend.”

“Sucheta was wonderful with Milo, they were very accommodating and was happy to maintain Milo’s walk schedule:) Milo got along with chickoo very well and enjoyed the company which is amazing. Will definitely be sending Milo to Sucheta again☺️”

“Alexandra was friendly, kind and understanding with our little dog—despite him not being on his best behaviour! 🫣 She provided us with regular updates and Teilo came back to us happy and relaxed. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to others”

“Mali had an absolute wonderful time with Rex and Kayleigh! Kayleigh was fantastic with her updates throughout the day! Will definitely be using Kayleigh and Rex again in the future would highly recommend!!”

“Diane is a lovely person, who offered to look after my Great Dane at short notice. Her bio said that she has experience with Danes which is why I chose her. She was reliable, trustworthy and communicated well throughout the day I was away. She looked after my house and dog well. One thing her bio did not state is that she has mobility difficulties and at one point fell over when my dog was excited and wanted to play with another dog. I suggest she is best used for people with older and small dogs, when the otherwise good care she provides does not result in accidents when out walking.”

About: I’ve had my own dog for 4 years and raised him from a puppy, so I know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pet. As a dog owner and Rover user myself, I understand the level of care, love and attention every dog deserves. Your dog’s safety, comfort and happiness always come first, and I’ll make sure they’re treated like one of my own while they’re with me. I also have a real soft spot for dachshunds and specialise in caring for them. I understand their little personalities, their quirks, and the extra love and patience they need. I’ve looked after so many dachshunds for longer stays and would love to become a regular sitter for owners looking for a safe, loving temp home for their dog while their owners are away. Well, I am a full time dog sitter/walker. You can expect a tailored and regular scheduled time to hang out, go for walks at the local parks. Lots of attention provided! We are very active and ratio about 3 to 4 walks a day as we enjoy getting out into the fields and enjoying the day. I provide dog walking, check ins at your residence if needed and I can offer doggy day care and overnight care. I’m available for all kind of specific needs your pet needs.
“Helen and Ade took such good care of Ava, we're so grateful to have found someone that we know she'll love staying with. She clearly had a fab time with them and they obviously loved her too which was so lovely! Thanks both 😊”

“She young lady done an amazing job looking after my boy bailey who is a handful for my pal and me this was the first time and looking at his face it said he had a good time in his boisterous way I would recommend Morwenna as someone who can be trusted with your dogs💯”

“We are delighted to have found Jackson to look after our dog. From the moment we met Jackson, we knew we had found the right person to look after our young dog.. Our dog is a little nervous when meeting new people but Jackson has got a calm persona and experience with dogs and it didn’t take long for Rupert to trust him. Jackson is also very accommodating and It was lovely to have updates and photos throughout the day. . We’ve already booked for another day care with Jackson and I’m sure Rupert will drag me to Jackson’s front door 😀. I would highly recommend Jackson in a heartbeat.”

About: I’ve got a 1-year old Cavapoo that absolutely loves other dogs. I take him for at least 2 walks a day, sometimes three, being very active myself and situated within a short walk to two parks. To me dogs are too good for us humans. I believe their good nature should be rewarded with love, affection, walkies, cuddles, and all the belly rubs they want. I’m self employed and work from home so they’ll never be left on their own for long, if at all. I’m home most of the time, being self employed and working from home. When I do go out, I tend to bring my own dog with me so I know all the dog-friendly places. So just as my own dog Edgar is well looked after, so will your beloved fur baby. I have a fenced in garden and a three bedroom home which is fully open to your pup. I have a small crate if needed and all the necessary things since I have my own small dog.

“What a lovely lady! Just the same as leaving our lovely creatures with a friend. She got really excited at how nice our dogs are and they were really comfy in her home. Spacious house, good sized garden. Our two whippets had a great time! Samantha listened to my list of demands and made sure the place was whippet proof, as they're a lot better at stealing things that you'd expect, and she was sure to send us photos of our boys having a great time. Perfect. We have found our trusted dog friend, so we will be able to go on holidays again, knowing the boys will be safe 💙 Word of warning: we do spend longer than expected there because Samantha is good to chat to. So you might need to plan that in!!”

About: We look after either dogs or cats. We live in the city centre and both work from home. There is a gated area at the back of the apartment for your pup’s toilet breaks as required, but we live 5 minutes away from Bute Park and we love going for long walks. We have both grown up around dogs, from gentle giant dobermans to mini Yorkshire terriers. As we both work from home we can both take care of pets twenty four seven, we will take them for walks and so they will never be left at home alone. We are very flexible and can accommodate your pet’s needs. The flat is spacious and there is room for a crate/bed if required. We will make sure to feed them as per their regular schedule.
About: I had a small family dog growing up! I cat and dog sit for friends and family all the time! Including large dogs such as my brothers German Shephard and best friends Golden! I currently own a betta fish who I adore! His name is Rango. I love horses and have been around them since I was young. I volunteered at the Animal Shelter in Edmonton for all of high school and undergrad. I walked dogs, played and socialized with cats, puppies and bunnies. I also helped around the shelter with laundry and cleaning My schedule is very open as I am currently living with my boyfriend! I am hoping to make a business with animals I love so much I am loving of any animal and am easy to contact. I will send photos and updates while I enjoy time with your pet! It will be the animal therapy I need away from work!

About: My wife, Nour, lived with dogs most of her life. Her first dog Sweetie, she had when she was 6 years old, then Queen at the age of 11. She learned how to take care of them from a young age with the support of her parents. At the age of 23, my wife got our current dog, Leo. He's a covid dog, with all the covid period "separation anxiety" which I personally think my wife has as well. As a couple we share responsibility of Leo, walking him at least twice per day. Going to walks, hikes, or run on the beach. We love dogs a lot and taking care of animals. My wife works from home and I work a hybrid schedule just a 4-minute walk away, meaning we are able to provide your pet with around-the-clock supervision and companionship. Our routine is consistent and active: we take a long walk before work, a mid-day stroll during our lunch break, and another walk in the evening. Because we are home nearly all day, we can easily adapt to your dog’s specific feeding, walking, and nap schedule to ensure they feel comfortable and right at home. We offer a safe, secure, and fully fenced backyard, perfect for outdoor play and potty breaks. We share our space with Leo, our incredibly chill and well-behaved resident dog who spends most of his day napping. Because Leo is so relaxed, he is a great companion for other dogs looking for a low-stress environment. We prioritize safety and comfort above all else, ensuring that your pet receives constant attention, regular affection, and a calm atmosphere where they can relax and thrive while you are away.

About: I grew up in a very furry household: 6 dogs, 10 cats, plus years of horse riding camps - animals were basically part of everyday life for me. Since moving to Cardiff, I haven’t been able to have as many animals around me, and I genuinely miss it! Looking after pets takes me straight back to those happy, chaotic, furry years. For the last two years I’ve also looked after friends’ dogs and cats, taking them for walks, feeding them, playing with them, keeping them company and giving medication when needed. I’d love to do much more pet sitting, which is exactly why I’m here. I’m patient, affectionate and easy-going with animals, and happy to follow their usual routine. I love walking, so energetic dogs and I tend to get on very well - and I seem to have a natural way with cats too, even the shy or tricky ones often warm up to me quickly! 🐈 My schedule is flexible and I work mostly from home, so I can usually fit pet care around my day quite easily. I’m available weekdays and sometimes weekends, mornings, afternoons and evenings, and I’m happy to help with last-minute bookings too. I have a car and can travel around 10 minutes from Pontcanna/Canton. I’ll always follow your pet’s usual routine and any instructions you leave - every animal is different. I’m very aware of my surroundings, especially out on walks, and good at reading animals and adapting to what they need. I’m there for them, not the other way around. I’m also very respectful of people’s homes and happy to help with little things like plants, post, basic tidying up or anything else that needs looking after while you’re away - and of course send plenty of furry updates! ☺️
“We’re very grateful to Lisa for caring for our nine month old pup, Obi. He was very happy with running around William and Dolly and loved his time there. We were kept reassured by updates and photos from Lisa. Highly recommended.”

About: I’m a massive dog / animal lover. In terms of sitting experience, I have looked after the dogs of friends and family a lot, both in their homes and at mine. I’ve been trusted with dogs of all ages and sizes. Other animal experiences include working with / looking after horses since I was a teen (so well over 5 years of experience with animals.) I work from home, and can pretty much work anywhere so I can bring my laptop to you, as long as you have wifi! I work 8.30-5, but can be very flexible and will be able to spend time away from my laptop to have a play, a cuddle or a walk with your dog. I’m not tied to it all day. If your pet comes to me, I can do the same. I might need to pop out in the evenings for food shopping etc. At the weekends, I can take them out on adventures (walks) around by me or your home. We can also chill and watch TV or do whatever your dog needs to do! I can be very flexible to make sure your dog is happy. I can be very flexible in terms of the care I can offer - I can stay at your home, or your pet can come to me! I have nice public walkways and open spaces near me down in Cardiff Bay, or can go for a drive to other nearby fields. I can even meet up with other friends who also have dogs, and can offer a little socialisation if your dog is OK with other dogs. I do live in a flat, so I don’t have a garden, but I can take your dog out as often as they need! It gives me an excellent excuse to get out of the flat during the day. I live on my own, so it would be nice to have company. Happy to send updates as and when as well so you know your pet is in safe hands and doing well.
About: I’m a caring, responsible and trustworthy pet lover who understands that every pet is part of the family. I’ll treat your furry friend with the same love, patience and attention I would give my own. I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy and comfortable while you’re away, following their routine and giving them plenty of care, play and affection. ❤️🐾 Pet care fits easily into my daily and weekly routine, as I have a flexible schedule. I can provide regular walks, feeding, playtime and plenty of attention, making sure each pet feels comfortable and well cared for. I’m happy to adapt to your pet’s usual routine and their individual needs. 🐾❤️ I always treat every pet with love, patience and respect. I follow the owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding routines, walks, playtime, medication if needed and any special requirements. I make sure pets feel safe, comfortable and relaxed, whether I’m caring for them in their own home or in mine. I also provide plenty of attention, affection and regular updates for the owner, including photos and messages, so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. 🐾❤️

Milo has had a great time the last 2 days with Alys. Alys was very accommodating at short notice and communication was amazing. I loved having the little updates throughout the day along with pics. Milo is quirky but warmed to Alys immediately 💙 we will definitely be returning in the future 🙌 thank you Alys 😊

Highly recommend Khalid as a sitter, my pup had such a lovely time. Kept updated with photos and videos, it felt like she was being treated as though she was his own dog. Will definitely be using his services again. Thank you so much for taking good care of her!

Kayleigh was truly exceptional. Upon arriving she immediately connected with our bearded collie, Daphne, who relaxed into her surroundings. It was so beautiful seeing them together. There's clearly a deep love for animals in her household and the dedication she clearly puts into every booking just washes away and uncertainty around leaving our pet. We had LOADS of updates throughout the day - more than we would've expected, but there's no such thing as 'too many'! I could not possibly recommend Kayleigh enough. Extra marks go to Rex who was equally patient and understanding and who clearly made Daphne feel so at home!

Where to start, from the minute I reached out to Samantha about her having our dog Opal for the day.. she was really helpful, accommodating and reassuring about how she would take great care of Opal. I couldn’t tell you just how true that was! I had regular updates, photos, a video throughout the day.. we chatted at the drop off so I was able to get to know Samantha a little, in a short space of time. We left for our day trip relieved and reassured that Opal was in very safe hands! Opal had plenty of room to run around, sniff and explore. Samantha even dealt with Opal jumping around everywhere.. it was no problem where Opal went, played.. Samantha was really accommodating for Opal as a dog. She wasn’t just another dog for Samantha to dog sit.. but a new friend to look after 🙃 I would highly recommend Samantha to everyone!

I’ve been using Kate for daycare for my dog, Pixie, since May, and I couldn’t recommend her more highly. Kate is fantastic – she communicates really well, always answers any questions I have, and responds quickly, which gives me real peace of mind. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the dogs she looks after. Her little dog, Nessa, is just the cutest! She’s so friendly, loving, and welcoming, and Pixie gets on brilliantly with her. It’s lovely knowing Pixie has such a great companion during her stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kate to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and professional dog sitter. Thank you, Kate

We chose Lily to look after our little 4 month old puppy Poochon Betty for our wedding day and I’m so glad we did. I was feeling a little nervous and Lily completely put me at ease. Lily is warm, kind and loves dogs and Betty took to her immediately. I felt completely confident to leave Betty in the care of Lily and even she kept us updated with photos. She was also kind enough to bring Betty to our wedding for an hour so we could take pictures with her. We will definitely be using Lily again in the future and can’t recommend her highly enough.

We can't thank Sophie enough! She came to our rescue when we needed someone to look after our cockapoo Freddie at the very last minute. Freddie was so well looked after and obviously had a great time on his walk, paddling in the stream to cool him down in the 30+ heat. We received regular photos and updates of Freddie enjoying himself. We would definitely recommend Sophie. Thank you x

Emily was a brilliant dog sitter. I think she's a bit of a dog whisperer! Emily was so gentle with Bodhi and she instantly bonded with Emily. It was a hot day but she kept Bodhi cool with a flannel. Great communication all day and filled in the Rover pet card for me. Would definitely ask Emily again to sit for Bodhi, and recommend her to others.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
