“Cannot believe how lucky we are to have found Alison. Our puppy had only been with us 3 weeks when we needed someone to look after her for a weekend due to a pre booked trip. Alison immediately filled us with confidence, her main focus was finding out as much as possible about Mabel and her routine to make it as easy as possible for Mabel. We had loads of updates and photos while we were away and the house was spotless when we got home. Will 100% be booking again!”

“katie was the best , she kept me updated with how they were and my dogs loved her they were sad to see her go haha. she kept my house nice and tidy, felt really comfortable leaving them in safe hands , 100% be booking katie again”

“Alzbeta was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Took great care of my dog, kept me updated while I was away with lots of pictures and videos from some lovely walks. Alzbeta left the house exactly as I left it. It’s clear she genuinely cares and goes the extra mile. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will definitely be booking her again.”

“From the outset, Katie has been absolutely brilliant. Communication, punctuality and her overall care of Murphy has been outstanding. We went away for one night and Katie kindly agreed to house sit Murphy. He took to her straight away which is really important to me as a dog owner. Katie kept me updated with messages and left my house spotless. I would not have ANY hesitation in recommending Katie, 11/10.”

About: Our family have been around and owned dogs our entire lives. My husband and I have been looking after family and friends dogs together for nearly 5 years. We are newly established as a licensed home boarders taking 2 doggy guests at a time alongside our two neutered boys, and we want to offer as much flexibility and tailoring as possible for you and your pets comfort! I work from home weekdays so dogs have plenty of company! We can do walks at breakfast, lunch and dinner time, and weekends we can go for nice long and more adventurous walks (weather and dog dependant!) We have a large fenced back garden, half grass and half stone/slabs, and a smaller fenced front garden with grass and stone, the dogs can go anywhere in our home except my daughters room in case of teddy theft! We have a huge sofa so there is plenty of space for cwtches! We are pretty relaxed, flexible and happy to make accommodations to make sure all dogs are as happy as possible.
“Amazing! Timmy and Liam were great from the very beginning. Quick to come back to messages and always able to give a quick answer. Ludo, Bob, Sassy and Figgy were all looked after with such care and attention. Ludo absolutely loved his walks and had so much fun. We were given regularly updates via photos and videos, which was lovely. We have never left our pets with anyone else before, but Timmy and Liam made us feel at such ease. We have booked them again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone! Thank you again 🙂”

About: My family and I had a West Highland terrier who lived till the ripe old age of 21! We adopted him from my grandad when he passed, who also had 5 previous westies all called skye-original I know!! I am a very active person who lives the company of a dog. I would be quite often found walking on the south west coastal path or along a beach somewhere. Unfortunately I work full time so it would be impractical for me to have my own. Most recently my parents welcomed the most beautiful working cocker spaniel, Stan, into their lives, who I also adore. I work full time Monday -friday but free after 5pm on week days and all day weekends. However, please message me as I can be flexible. We have an enclosed walled garden, with a gate. We also have full wooden flooring on the first floor of the house. Easy to clean!
About: I always had a family dog growing up, the house wouldn’t be the same without a dog or two! I have always helped look after dogs for family and friends and now as I have just completed dog grooming training I am excited to meet yours and provide them with care and love! I currently work in a primary school part time, my young child is now starting full time school and I have quality time spare to spend on your furry friends. I treat their home like it’s my own and care for their animal like they are my own. Attention to detail and being responsible and reliable.
“I cannot recommend Laura highly enough. Laura kept us both in the loop with how our pup was doing, from photos of her enjoying herself and messages reassuring us she was behaving and happy. Laura responded quickly and offered to do a meet and greet before hand. Laura really was fantastic and our little girl loved every minute spent with her. We can now book holidays knowing our dog is in safe hands. I would not hesitate to recommend Laura”

“Sucheta looked after our 3 year old cockapoo for 2 weeks whilst we went on holiday. Sucheta took amazing care of Ted, we had daily updates, pictures and videos which was so reassuring. It was clear that Ted was happy and very well looked after. She would reply promptly to messages. I would highly recommend Sucheta to anyone and will definitely use her again. Thanks so much x”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Blaenau Gwent
Alzbeta was wonderful looking after our two dogs for the weekend. She took them out for some great walks and was very thoughtful on taking them out early because of the heat. She dealt with one dog rolling in a dead fish with no problems at all and gave them a bath! She was very responsive and sent lots of lovely photos of the dogs having fun. Our house was left spotless as well! I highly recommend her as a competent and loving person to care for your dog!

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Belinda. She looked after our boy Leroy and it went above and beyond anything we expected. Leroy is a rescue and can be really nervous around strangers as he’s scared they might hurt him, so leaving him has always been something we’ve worried about. We had never left him overnight before, and with our wedding coming up, we were really panicking about what to do as all of our trusted people would be there with us. Then we found Belinda — and from the very start, she completely put our minds at ease. She wasn’t put off by Leroy at all and took the time to visit several times beforehand, showing so much patience, understanding, and genuine care. It didn’t take long at all for Leroy to warm to her, which says everything. On the day itself, she kept us updated and sent so many lovely photos, which meant the world to us and helped us relax and enjoy our wedding knowing he was in such safe hands. We truly can’t express how grateful we are. Thanks to Belinda, we now feel confident enough to even plan a honeymoon knowing Leroy will be so well looked after. Highly, highly recommend 💛

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Blaenau Gwent choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
