“Alison made a great job of caring for our cat Milly. She is a very upbeat, thoughtful and kind person, and I felt very confident leaving her in charge of the cat and the house. Milly was happy and calm when we came back from our break and had obviously formed a good bond with Alison, who had been chatting to Milly and getting a good response. I wholeheartedly recommend Alison to care for your pets in your home, she is 100% reliable and tunes in to the animal’s needs, and cared for the home too.”

About: Hi, I’m Shannon! I provide dedicated one-to-one pet care, focusing on one household at a time so your pets always receive my full attention. I’m fully DBS checked, insured and CPD certified. My calm, patient approach makes me especially suited to nervous, rescue, elderly and reactive pets. I believe every pet deserves to feel safe, relaxed and loved in their own environment, and I always tailor my care to their individual routine and personality. Regular photo updates and meet-and-greets are all part of the service. 🐾 Pet care fits around my part-time schedule, allowing me to dedicate quality time to every booking. I only care for one household at a time, so each pet receives my full attention without juggling multiple families. I’m available throughout the week and weekends, depending on the service required. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing are always my priority. I care for pets in their own familiar environment where they feel happiest and most secure. Before every booking I arrange a meet-and-greet to learn about routines, personalities, feeding, medications and any special requirements. I’m fully DBS checked, insured and provide regular photo and video updates throughout every stay.
“From the outset, Katie has been absolutely brilliant. Communication, punctuality and her overall care of Murphy has been outstanding. We went away for one night and Katie kindly agreed to house sit Murphy. He took to her straight away which is really important to me as a dog owner. Katie kept me updated with messages and left my house spotless. I would not have ANY hesitation in recommending Katie, 11/10.”

About: I always had a family dog growing up, the house wouldn’t be the same without a dog or two! I have always helped look after dogs for family and friends and now as I have just completed dog grooming training I am excited to meet yours and provide them with care and love! I currently work in a primary school part time, my young child is now starting full time school and I have quality time spare to spend on your furry friends. I treat their home like it’s my own and care for their animal like they are my own. Attention to detail and being responsible and reliable.

About: Our family have been around and owned dogs our entire lives. My husband and I have been looking after family and friends dogs together for nearly 5 years. We are newly established as a licensed home boarders taking 2 doggy guests at a time alongside our two neutered boys, and we want to offer as much flexibility and tailoring as possible for you and your pets comfort! I work from home weekdays so dogs have plenty of company! We can do walks at breakfast, lunch and dinner time, and weekends we can go for nice long and more adventurous walks (weather and dog dependant!) We have a large fenced back garden, half grass and half stone/slabs, and a smaller fenced front garden with grass and stone, the dogs can go anywhere in our home except my daughters room in case of teddy theft! We have a huge sofa so there is plenty of space for cwtches! We are pretty relaxed, flexible and happy to make accommodations to make sure all dogs are as happy as possible.
“First time leaving my boy with someone he didn't know but did a fantastic job! Left my home nice and clean and even did some laundry for me - couldn't ask for more! Highly recommended house sitter 🏆”

About: I’m a qualified, force-free dog trainer at Biscuits Buddies Dog Training I have many years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, breeds and personalities. I’m particularly experienced with nervous, anxious and sensitive dogs, as well as dogs who may need a little more patience and understanding. I’m confident reading canine body language and always work at the individual dog’s pace, using kind, reward-based methods. I also have experience with puppies, senior dogs, large breeds and dogs with additional behavioural or emotional needs. I understand that every dog is different, so I’ll always follow their usual routine as closely as possible and make sure they feel safe, comfortable and understood while in my care. Most importantly, I’ll treat your dog as an individual , not just another booking! 🐾 Pet care fits naturally around my day, and when your dog is with me they’ll enjoy plenty of attention, enrichment, toilet breaks and time to relax. Please note that this is not a 24-hour supervision service. Dogs under my care must be comfortable being left home alone for periods of up to 4 hours during the day, as I may need to leave the house for work, appointments or errands. I’ll always make sure your dog’s needs are met before I leave and that they have a safe, comfortable space to settle until I return. 🐾 Your dog’s safety and wellbeing will always come first. As a professional force-free dog trainer, I’m experienced in reading canine body language and recognising when a dog may be feeling worried, overwhelmed or simply needs some space. In my care, dogs are treated as part of the family and given a comfortable, calm environment with plenty of opportunity to rest. I’ll follow your dog’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, medication and any individual care requirements. I only use kind, force-free handling and will never use punishment or aversive equipment. I also take introductions and interactions with other dogs carefully, rather than assuming every dog wants or needs to socialise. I want both you and your dog to feel completely comfortable, so I’m always happy to discuss their individual needs, quirks and routines before their stay. 🐾

About: I have had dogs all my life. I have had small and large dogs and experience of walking and caring. My dog Luna now is a great Dane and enjoy walking up mountains and to rivers. I do shift work so am able to dedicate time to something I really enjoy. I love being outdoors and have a good level of fitness. I have experience of looking after dogs and have my own dog since a puppy. She initially was a very nervous puppy but with patient she is a fab dog now who enjoys being out and with my children.
“Amazing! Timmy and Liam were great from the very beginning. Quick to come back to messages and always able to give a quick answer. Ludo, Bob, Sassy and Figgy were all looked after with such care and attention. Ludo absolutely loved his walks and had so much fun. We were given regularly updates via photos and videos, which was lovely. We have never left our pets with anyone else before, but Timmy and Liam made us feel at such ease. We have booked them again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone! Thank you again 🙂”

“Sucheta looked after our 3 year old cockapoo for 2 weeks whilst we went on holiday. Sucheta took amazing care of Ted, we had daily updates, pictures and videos which was so reassuring. Alison is an excellent dog sitter, and I always feel completely at ease leaving my dog with her. He is always so happy to see her, and I can tell that he really enjoys his time with her. She provides regular updates and makes sure he stays to his usual routine, which gives me great peace of mind. I am a repeat customer and will definitely continue to use Alison in the future. I feel very lucky to have found such a kind, reliable and caring dog sitter.

Alzbeta was wonderful looking after our two dogs for the weekend. She took them out for some great walks and was very thoughtful on taking them out early because of the heat. She dealt with one dog rolling in a dead fish with no problems at all and gave them a bath! She was very responsive and sent lots of lovely photos of the dogs having fun. Our house was left spotless as well! I highly recommend her as a competent and loving person to care for your dog!

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Belinda. She looked after our boy Leroy and it went above and beyond anything we expected. Leroy is a rescue and can be really nervous around strangers as he’s scared they might hurt him, so leaving him has always been something we’ve worried about. We had never left him overnight before, and with our wedding coming up, we were really panicking about what to do as all of our trusted people would be there with us. Then we found Belinda — and from the very start, she completely put our minds at ease. She wasn’t put off by Leroy at all and took the time to visit several times beforehand, showing so much patience, understanding, and genuine care. It didn’t take long at all for Leroy to warm to her, which says everything. On the day itself, she kept us updated and sent so many lovely photos, which meant the world to us and helped us relax and enjoy our wedding knowing he was in such safe hands. We truly can’t express how grateful we are. Thanks to Belinda, we now feel confident enough to even plan a honeymoon knowing Leroy will be so well looked after. Highly, highly recommend 💛

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Blaenau Gwent choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
