“Oleksandra is a lovely person and my dogs took to her immediately. She took great care of the house and updated me frequently. The photos looked like my dogs had fun and I would happily rebook her.”

About: I’m a qualified veterinarian from Newport with a degree in Veterinary Medicine and a lifelong love for animals. I provide reliable, caring pet sitting and dog walking, giving every pet plenty of attention, affection, and safe care. I’m also very active and enjoy exercise, so I love taking dogs on long, fun walks tailored to their energy and needs. I am currently waiting to start a new job in September and therefore am free full time to take care of your pets, drop me a text for more info. Able to care for pets at your home or provide walking services. I will consider sitting for pets at my own home also, I have a fenced garden which is secure and have no other pets at home.
“Morgan was absolutely brilliant while looking after Cocoa . She was professional, kind, and incredibly communicative throughout. We really appreciated the regular updates and how attentive she was to Cocoa’s needs. It gave us complete peace of mind knowing she was in such safe and caring hands. Would highly recommend Morgan to anyone looking for a reliable and genuinely lovely dog sitter!”

About: Sam has had dogs all his life and loves spending time with them. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or overnight care, he'll make sure your dog is happy, safe, and well looked after. "I understand that every dog is different and will give them the care, attention, and exercise they need. I’ve been doing this on and off now with Rover for a few years and have loved it!! So many cool funny dogs I’ve met that I wouldn’t have had the chance to without this kind of work, hope to meet many more. 🙂" Lucy has had dogs when she was younger and has recently been a dog walker. When we are pet sitting we like to be with them as much as we can. We only pop out briefly as we don't like to think they are stressed and just I like to give them lots of attention. We don't have pets ourselves at the moment so your pet/s will have our full attention. We just enjoy being around them and respect the rules of the household we are looking after.
“Benji was very well looked after by Jess. Felt very comfortable leaving him with them even though he's a big dog. Had regular pictures and updates and communication excellent. House was also left in good condition. Would highly recommend!”

“Lauren and her sister looked after my Cockerpoo for an overnight stay. Lovely girls, trustworthy and caring. They gave Patsy alot of attention, playing with her, taking her out for walks and sent me pictures. I felt at ease straight away knowing that she would be cared for very much. I would definitely have them again 100%. Thanks very much x”

“This is the first time we've used 'Rover' and if Bronwyn is the benchmark we'll definitely be back. Bronwyn was very clear, conscientious and clearly enjoyed being with our pup. She did everything we asked and more, leaving our pup well loved and our house clean and tidy. I'm sure Henry (11 months old Jack Russell) will remember her fondly and look forward to seeing her in future.”

About: I spend most of my time between Bristol, Hereford, London and Sheffield and I provide pet-sitting services nationwide. I grew up with dogs, border collies and jack russell terriers, in the north of England. 20 years in the London rat race (project management) and 12 years of meditation, travel and independent study later... animals are back in my life and taking centre stage, at least for now! I returned from 3 years living in India in July 2024 and have been pet-sitting for the majority of the time since then. I've had the good fortune to meet a vast array of quirky characters along the way, four-legged and two-legged alike! Making new friends all the time! I've had cockapoo puppies, lazy old hounds, adolescent staffies, cheeky pugs, rescued terriers, OAP shih tsus, anxious chinese cresteds and a whole host of super cool cats to keep me on my toes... I've never been happier! I am currently working on a terrifying writing project and immersed in research for the foreseeable future. This keeps me at home most of the time so your beloved furry/scaly/feathery friends will have plenty of company and attention. My writing, studies and occasional freelance research work are all completed online, so my time and geographical location can be flexible according to your needs. Essentially, I try to remain as flexible as can be! Having said that, I travel the country doing this work and will always prioritise longer durations, 1-week+. I will be relocating semi-permanently in Bristol, Brighton or London in 2026, so opportunities in these places will likely pique my interest for 2025. My rates are negotiable for longer sits! Let's talk! I have spent the last year caring for dogs and cats in their own homes, and this is the service I offer here. Dogs and cats benefit immensely from being in their own environment and having consistency in their daily routine. I recommend conducting a full consultation, either in person or via VC, before committing to a sit. I will have many questions about your loved ones, such as behavioural issues, medical history, likes/dislikes, routine, preferences for play, do's and don'ts, etc. Whenever possible, I prefer to spend a few hours with you and your pets before you leave, just to help them feel at ease after your departure and to ensure I know everything I need to know. My iCloud storage is bursting at the seams with photos and videos of dogs and cats in myriad states of play, rest, love and hilarity. You'll have regular updates and pics to remind you how lucky you are to be returning home.
“Kathryn was great! We had a call before hand just to go over what she was getting herself in for and she was perfectly happy! Showed up on time on the morning and kept our pup entertained throughout a very long day! We were nervous of him being a little boisterous as he's not the smallest of puppies but she took it on her atride. We got updates with images throughout the day and came back to a very happy pup. Would deffo use again!”

“Jahleah took wonderful care of our Emma Jean and of our home! She sent lots of updates, including photos and videos, and responded promptly to questions and texts. Emma Jean was very happy with her, enjoying long walks and playtime, and Jahleah did a great job in giving Emma her medication. It was great to be able to truly relax while we were away knowing our girl was being taken care of, and we wouldn't hesitate to book with Jahleah again.”
“This is the first time my girls have been left at home with someone while we went away for a week. Kate was so patient and lovely with them ..,they were so well looked after …the house was lovely too when we returned I would recommend her to everyone but I may just keep her a secret in case she becomes too popular”

“Scott went absolutely above and beyond to make sure my pets were well looked after. My dog has special needs, and I was so relieved by how thoughtfully and carefully Scott planned everything in advance. He followed the medication schedule perfectly, made sure my dog was comfortable at all times, and gave him the best care I could hope for. He also sent regular updates, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I’m incredibly grateful and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate sitter.”

About: I have always helped family and friends with their pets. From energetic play sessions to daily walks and ensuring they stay on their bathroom schedule, I’ve learned how to keep dogs happy and comfortable while their owners are away. What sets me apart is my genuine love for animals and my commitment to their routine. I am very patient and observant, whether it's a high-energy dog that needs a long walk to burn off steam or a more relaxed pet that just wants some company and belly rubs. I’m reliable, punctual, and I will always send you photo updates so you can see how much fun your pet is having! I currently have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to make pet care my top priority throughout the week. Whether it is for house sitting, midday walks, or drop-in visits, I can easily adapt to your pet's specific routine. I am available during mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends, ensuring your furry friend is never alone for long and receives plenty of attention and exercise exactly when they need it. I take safety and home security very seriously. When I am in a pet owner's home, I strictly follow all house rules, feeding schedules, and emergency contact instructions. Before leaving the house, I always double-check that everything is properly locked and in perfect order. When we go for walks, I never take my eyes off the pet; their safety is my top priority at all times. I also love keeping owners informed by providing regular photos and message updates, so you can see exactly how your pet is doing and feel completely at ease
“What is there not to say about Luisa! She is absolutely brilliant! We had her for a overnight stay with Archie and he adored her from the moment he met her. Before her stay she came over to the see the layout of the house and meet Archie, and she made the introduction feel so smooth and friendly, she's basically a mate now! We got constant updates and pictures of our potato, and with her experience of having a bulldog herself, she knew the best ways to entertain Archie but also know his limits (they are stubborn loaves of bread)! We cannot thank Luisa enough and have already sent her profiles to loads of local mates as recommendations! We will be booking her loads in the future 😍”

“So thankful for the love and care he gave Arlo when we left him for the first time. Gave us lovely updates throughout our holiday letting us know our boy was happy and well looked after. Can’t recommend enough and will defo use again.”

As always Sula was great with our pup again last week, Olive absolutely loves Sula and we’re all sad to say goodbye as Sula goes on to new adventures! Thanks for being awesome at playing with Olive and prioritising giving her water (even if she’s fussy) on hot days and being so kind to a highly energetic dog! Let us know when (if) you come back! 😊

Sula was amazing. She looked after my 2 dogs and the house, and I didn't worry about anything whilst on holiday. She sent me lots of lovely photos of them. I could see they were happy with her. She did everything I asked her to and more. She was so accommodating with her arrival and departure times and made me feel at ease. I would definitely use Sula again and highly recommend her.

Sula looked after our beagle boy for 5 days and was absolute magic, especially how we know how much mischief our pup can get up to!! Regular photo updates and regular written updates we honestly couldnt have imagined a better sitter. Bowie was treated like a king and we will not hesitate to book Sula again if she has the time. Thank you!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Monmouthshire walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Monmouthshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
