“A great sit once again from Kav - it's clear just how much he cares for my dogs and their needs and I feel safe knowing he's taking care of them - they always look happy and well-looked after on my return. With the heat Kav took care to make sure they were kept hydrated and adapted their walks to keep them safe. He goes above and beyond with making sure that my home is left clean and tidy and accommodates my high-needs dogs with ease. A perfect option if you're looking for a sitter that is flexible, caring and comfortable with dogs with high needs.”

“Annie looked after our house, black lab Bandit and kitty Freddie for 3 nights. Annie was great with Bandit and he was super relaxed and happy with her. We hadn't left Bandit before but after an initial meet and greet I didn't have any worries about leaving Bandit with Annie; she's obviously a natural and you can tell she loves animals. We wouldn't hesitate to book Annie again if we go away and I'm sure Bandit and Freddie would love to see her again. Thanks Annie 😊”

About: ❤️ We are lifelong animal lovers with hands-on experience caring for puppies, senior dogs, and cats. Between us, we’ve looked after neighbours’ pets, grown up in pet-filled homes, and cared for our own animals for years. With a diploma in zoology and a shared passion for animal wellbeing, your pets will be in safe, loving hands 🐶 We recently lost our beloved dog, Lilo, at age 15 and while we don't feel able to have another dog of our own, we would love to give some fuss and care to others. 🐕 You may see that we have a dog listed on our profile - Bella. This is our parents dog. She stays with us infrequently. If you are booking for a day care or overnight, we would let you know if Bella will be around. 📆 We are available Thursdays, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. 🏠 If we're visiting your home, we'll follow your instructions; making sure to give your pet the love and care it needs. 🏡 If your pet is staying in our home, we make sure to centre our days around them. We never leaving them alone in the house and ensure they get plenty of time to walk, play or snuggle depending on their needs. 🌲 We have a lovely enclosed garden with plenty of plants and grass for dogs to sniff and play. 💕 There are comfy blankets available for snoozing and a human ready to give lots of fuss and cuddles. 🛏️ We understand that pets are part of the family and that can mean a seat on the coach or a spot in the bed. In our home, all pets are welcome on the furniture.
“Savannah was brilliant with our terrier, Nelson. She was easy to communicate with, responsible, sent regular updates and Nelson clearly loves her. We will definitely be contacting Savannah in the future to look after Nelson again and highly recommend her”

“Lizzie was fantastic with our Flo. She accepted our booking at the last minute after our original sitter had to cancel, which was a huge relief as we were away on our honeymoon. Flo can be quite anxious, so it was important to us to find someone calm, patient, and caring. Lizzie was exactly that. She arranged a meet-and-greet beforehand to make sure Flo was comfortable with her, which gave us great peace of mind. Throughout our trip, Lizzie kept us updated with regular photos and messages, so we always knew Flo was happy and well looked after. From the pictures, it looked like Flo had made a friend for life! We wouldn't hesitate to book Lizzie again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, reliable, and thoughtful dog sitter.”

Leo was brilliant, I will definitely want to book them again for any future needs. They were super flexible with me during urgent unforeseen changes of plan. I could tell the dogs warmed to Leo immediately and from all the pics and videos it looked like they were having such a cosy time, and lovely walks. Communication was always really straightforward and helpful during the booking process and the stay itself. It made my time away much smoother knowing how well they were being cared for. Huge thanks!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Stroud walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Stroud choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
