Really great communication through and Emma sent lots of pictures of Comet during his stay which was very reassuring. Comet returned tired and happy which is the sign of a good sleep over! Many thanks.

We recently used this fantastic dog sitting service in Wales for one day and night, and we couldn't be happier. Liam was very accommodating, able to take our booking at short notice and kind enough to flex our pick up time when we were delayed. He clearly loves dogs and we felt very comfortable leaving Nova in his hands. He kept in touch throughout, sending lots of lovely photos of Nova having fun. We will definitely use Liam again when we're next in the area and would highly recommend them to anyone – they are pawsitively the best!

Thanks again for having Bo for us and for looking after him. Bo is an old chap and Lucy and her family always look after him and take into account that he has slowed down a lot over the last 6 months. First class sitter.

I cannot fail to recommend Derek highly enough to anyone who is thinking of boarding their dog(s) with him. Derek has taken such good care of my pooch walking him three times a day, seeing that he is utterly content and happy at all times, sending video and photos of what they have been doing all through the day. My boy has come home to me very happy and looking great! I will certainly use Derek's services again as there is nothing that he will not do to ensure your dog's happiness whilst they are staying with him.

About: I’ve had dogs in my life since my earliest memory and gained a wealth of experience and knowledge along the way. I’ve been training my own dogs and other peoples dogs for over 25 years. Your dogs would be kept in a relaxed and caring environment, and will receive the same love and attention as my own dogs . I’m currently home all day, so I’ll have plenty of time to give your dogs my full love and attention. I’m available to board dogs 7 days a week for short breaks or extended holidays, if booked in advance. I have a fenced garden to keep your dogs safe, and also have my own two dogs to keep your dogs company and have someone to play with. Dogs can also be crated if needed. I can also make sure your dogs have daily walks if applicable in a lovely environment.

Wonderful! Amos had a fantastic time with Rebecca if he could talk I’m sure he would have told me he wanted to stay forever. I don’t think I could have found a more dog friendly place for him to stay who we were on holiday. Highly recommended.

We were very nervous leaving our dogs for the first time ever but can’t thank Sean, Ida and Darcy enough for taking such good care of our boys. It was easy to tell how happy and well cared for they were and Sean really went over and above to the point he pretty much gave up his sofa for them ?. Sean was also happy to send me little daily updates and pictures which meant I could relax knowing they were having a good time. Thanks again Sean ?

About: Hey! We’re Shan & Jam we’re a 29 year old couple & we’re about to be your dog’s new best friends!👋🏻 We’re on a mission to soak up all the doggy cuddles we can this year, not just because we’re obsessed with dog’s (which we are) but because we’re warming up for PAWrenthood 🐾 So, instead of impulse buying a terrier on a random Tuesday (which we absolutely were close to doing) we’re channeling our love into looking after other people’s furbabies for now!👀 Jam has had experience in owning a dog full time, for 4 years as she took on her dad’s Staffordshire bull terrier, Max back in 2016 until he sadly passed in 2020. Therefore she now has history with this breed & their loving but sometimes crazy nature🤪 Shan has had experience, being a co-owner to Coco, a Shihtzu cross for 8 years, who was a yappy madam🤭 We both have cared for other dogs such as Buddy the Yorkie, who we fostered for a year🥹 Dolly the frenchie who we rehomed, who was Shan’s Grancha’s beloved dog🥺 And, we’ve had the pleasure of spending time with our family & friends dog’s over the years, walking & watching them. And our regular dog we sit, Daisy the 14 year old Chihuahua who has dementia🐶 Therefore combined, we have a fair amount of mixed experience with dogs☺️ IMPORTANT: Please DON’T book us until, we confirm the booking AFTER we’ve met your dog in person. Thankyou!😌 We have a lot of time on our hands, due to not having children & working from home, which makes us available most days, dates & times to suit your needs. But please message us to enquire 📅 We will be caring for your dogs in a cozy yet spacious flat with our own front door (not a shared block) & a private, fenced off front garden great for zoomies & bathroom breaks. We’ve even added extra security with chicken wire for those extra small doggies👀 While it’s not Buckingham Palace, it’s clean, comfy & 100% dog-approved! ✅ If stairs are tricky for your pup, that’s no problem they’ll get the full VIP treatment (yes, we do offer a personal carrying service)👩🏻‍✈️

About: I'll be setting up my own dog w Hi guys. Hi guys. Fro. October I'm available every day of the week to become your animals new best friends 🫶🏽 I've grown up with dogs since 4 ears old. Growing up through high school we brough home a little Yorkshire terrier 'cariad' we is still going strong at the age of 14! Cariad is a character who one minute melts your heart to then given you heart attack by not chewing good she stole! This led to me saving her life, whenever she visits I never take my eyes off her due to the fear of that happening again! Some say I'm way over the top by my love for that dog is to big to type into words. Kishy the lovely sheep dog has also joined my pack and is the best dog ever I work shift patterns which consists of 2-10pm & 6-2pm through the week, working 1 weekend in 3 at this moment. I am looking for another job which is 8-4 but will have weekends available. My wife works Saturdays until around 4 so I have time to spend with a new best friend I would treat anyones home the same as mine with respect & dignity. I mostly enjoy being outdoors so having a new walking Friend would be amazing.

Abigail and Jose hosted our rescue pup for a trial night which was his first time staying away from home since we’ve had him. Their care and attention to detail was phenomenal and instantly made us and Tiggy feel safe and comfortable. So willing to work around our dogs needs and he had the most amazing time, he wanted to stay and go on another scenic walk in the countryside. ☺️

Words can not describe how grateful we are for Alzbeta. This is the first time we have left our boy with someone who wasn’t family and the longest time he has been away from us, but she has put us at so much ease. Alzbeta is so kind and loving of our Luffy, and is so understanding of him and recognises his training needs and behaviours. She’s cared for Luffy in every aspect and has made his first little holiday away so magical taking him on nice walks, swimming and meeting new friends. For us she’s kept us updated and let us know how Luffy is getting on, alongside sending us the most lovely photos and videos. We felt so relaxed knowing our boy was being cared for by Alzbeta and will definitely be booking with her again! Luffy already can’t wait xx

We couldn't have asked for a better family to look after Ozzy while we were away. From the moment we met them, they made us feel completely at ease, and it was obvious how much they genuinely care about the dogs they look after. We received regular updates, photos and videos throughout our holiday, which meant we could truly relax knowing Ozzy was happy, safe and having the best time. He was treated like one of the family, with plenty of love, attention, walks and playtime. Ozzy can be a little nervous in new situations because of his previous eye injury, but they were incredibly patient, understanding and kind with him. They took the time to let him settle at his own pace, and it was lovely to see how quickly he became comfortable and confident with them. Since coming home, we've actually noticed a real difference in his behaviour. He seems much calmer and more settled, and we're convinced spending time with their lovely resident dogs has had such a positive influence on him. It's been wonderful to see, and it's a real testament to the environment they've created. When we collected him, he looked so happy, healthy and relaxed, and it was clear he'd had a wonderful stay. We're so grateful for the amazing care they gave him and wouldn't hesitate to book with them again. We would recommend them to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy and genuinely wonderful home away from home for their dog. Thank you so much for taking such fantastic care of our boy!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
