“We couldn’t have asked for better. From the moment we met, it was obvious how much care and attention our dogs would receive. We had complete peace of mind while we were away, with regular updates, photos and messages that showed just how happy and settled they were. Our dogs were treated like part of the family, and it was clear they were genuinely loved and cared for. They came home relaxed, happy and very well looked after. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring and professional to look after their dogs. Thank you so much we’ll definitely be booking again!”

“I honestly can’t thank Lucy and her family enough. This was a very last minute booking due to my partner needing surgery with only three days’ notice. I contacted Lucy on the Friday, we arranged a meet and greet on the Saturday, and Bella stayed Sunday and Monday night. The whole process was smooth and reassuring from start to finish. Lucy has a beautiful home with a lovely big garden, and her husband Luke and their two children are all so sweet and kind. Bella was walked twice a day by Luke and was clearly very well cared for throughout her stay. Lucy followed all my requests, including allowing Bella to sleep upstairs in her crate just as she does at home. I also received photo updates and messages, which really put me at ease during such a stressful time. Bella definitely made herself at home snuggling up on the sofa with Lucy in the evenings ❤️ When I collected Bella, she was happy, content and completely comfortable with Lucy — which says everything. I will definitely use Lucy again and I’m so grateful for everything she and her family did for us. Thank you so much 🥰”

“Fab experience with Mandy from start to finish, quick replies setting up meet and greet to meet my dog to start, meet and greet went really good, Mandy showed me around her home and talked a little about her routine would be. Communication continued after meet and greet, then when booking came, Mandy was in contact to arrange times etc. Communication all weekend with pictures and videos of my dog. Would definetly recommend!”

“I would highly recommend Neil to anyone looking for someone to care for their fur baby while they're away. Neil looked after our dog for five days while we were on holiday, and we couldn't have been happier with the care he received. He treated our dog as if he were his own, making him feel comfortable, loved, and right at home throughout his stay. We had complete peace of mind knowing our dog was in such caring hands. Thank you, Neil!”

“Absolutely brilliant. I never leave reviews but all I can say is wow, what a service. Lots of communication, nothing too much trouble, Ruby cannot wait for her next holiday. Thank you both”

“Words can not describe how grateful we are for Alzbeta. This is the first time we have left our boy with someone who wasn’t family and the longest time he has been away from us, but she has put us at so much ease. Alzbeta is so kind and loving of our Luffy, and is so understanding of him and recognises his training needs and behaviours. She’s cared for Luffy in every aspect and has made his first little holiday away so magical taking him on nice walks, swimming and meeting new friends. For us she’s kept us updated and let us know how Luffy is getting on, alongside sending us the most lovely photos and videos. We felt so relaxed knowing our boy was being cared for by Alzbeta and will definitely be booking with her again! Luffy already can’t wait xx”

“Becs was a lifesaver after another sitter cancelled late. She met us for a meet and greet and asked lots of questions about Artis which was really reassuring. I had some lovely photos of Artis on some gorgeous walks and playing with other dogs. She came home happy and healthy. Defo recommend!”

“I cannot fail to recommend Derek highly enough to anyone who is thinking of boarding their dog(s) with him. Derek has taken such good care of my pooch walking him three times a day, seeing that he is utterly content and happy at all times, sending video and photos of what they have been doing all through the day. My boy has come home to me very happy and looking great! I will certainly use Derek's services again as there is nothing that he will not do to ensure your dog's happiness whilst they are staying with him.”

“This was our first ever experience at home boarding our puppy , who has lots of energy, doesn't always listen and needs a lot of attention. Sean sent photos and videos daily and my mind was put at rest from the very first day. He got along quite well with Darcy through out and another puppy who was there for a day. He has been really well looked after and we are so pleased with the whole experience, I was just glad he wanted to leave and come home with me !! He had a lovely holiday too, and looked as if he has thoroughly enjoyed himself. We have already rebooked for our next holiday. Thanks again Sean 🙏”

“First time we have used Emma for dog sitting our 12 year old Jack Russell X Pug Bella. Emma is lovely and calm with Bella and settled her in well as we have not left her with a dog sitter previously This was an overnight stay to see how Bella would cope with being away from us. Bella was fine when we picked her up on the Saturday and we are now going ahead with a four night stay in June. 10/10 service 👍🏼🤩🐻❤️”

“Abigail and Jose hosted our rescue pup for a trial night which was his first time staying away from home since we’ve had him. Their care and attention to detail was phenomenal and instantly made us and Tiggy feel safe and comfortable. So willing to work around our dogs needs and he had the most amazing time, he wanted to stay and go on another scenic walk in the countryside. ☺️”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and have had four family dogs over the years, giving me plenty of hands on experience caring for dogs with different personalities, sizes and needs. I also regularly dog sit for my neighbour, so I’m used to following owners routine and making sure dogs feel happy, safe and comfortable while they’re away. As a student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to fit dog care easily into my routine. I’m available most evenings, weekends, and during holidays and I’m happy to be flexible where possible. I enjoy spending time outdoors, so regular walks and playtime are something I genuinely look forward to. Whether your dog needs company while you’re away, a walk or overnight care, I’ll make sure they get plenty of exercise and attention. I understand that every dog has their own routine, personality, and needs, so I always take the time to follow the owners instructions carefully. Whether I’m caring for your dog in my home or yours, I’ll make sure they have plenty of attention, exercise, fresh water, and a safe, comfortable environment where they can relax.

We honestly couldn’t have asked for anyone better to look after Max while we were away on holiday! It was our first time ever leaving him, so I was really anxious about it, but Liz put our minds at ease straight away and made us feel so reassured from the moment we met her. Liz was absolutely amazing with Max and went above and beyond to make sure he had the best time. She took him on lovely walks, even taking him to waterfalls and beautiful places, and the photos she sent us were absolutely incredible! It was so lovely to see how happy he was and how much fun he was having. We also got loads of updates while we were away, which gave us such peace of mind and meant we never felt like we were missing out. Liz is genuinely such a lovely, kind and caring person, and it was obvious how much she cared about Max. We highly recommend Liz to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring and reliable to look after their dog. We honestly couldn’t have been happier with her and wouldn’t hesitate to have her look after Max again. Thank you so much, Liz! 🐾❤️

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
