Fabulous 5 star treatment. We left our 2 year old French bulldog Kane for 9 days at Angie and Franks. He’d never been away from us he’s a lovely dog but very naughty, he absolutely loved it was walked 3 times a day had the run of the house, Angie text us everyday and sent loads of lovely photos to reassure us, to say he was well looked after isn’t enough , if you want your dog to be welcomed in to a loving environment and treated as if it was their own I can honestly say it doesn’t get any better thank you so much for looking after Kane !! Love and best wishes Nige and Jan x

I honestly can’t thank Lucy and her family enough. This was a very last minute booking due to my partner needing surgery with only three days’ notice. I contacted Lucy on the Friday, we arranged a meet and greet on the Saturday, and Bella stayed Sunday and Monday night. The whole process was smooth and reassuring from start to finish. Lucy has a beautiful home with a lovely big garden, and her husband Luke and their two children are all so sweet and kind. Bella was walked twice a day by Luke and was clearly very well cared for throughout her stay. Lucy followed all my requests, including allowing Bella to sleep upstairs in her crate just as she does at home. I also received photo updates and messages, which really put me at ease during such a stressful time. Bella definitely made herself at home snuggling up on the sofa with Lucy in the evenings ❤️ When I collected Bella, she was happy, content and completely comfortable with Lucy — which says everything. I will definitely use Lucy again and I’m so grateful for everything she and her family did for us. Thank you so much 🥰

Waffles had a fantastic time at day care, he loved playing with another dog and I had updates too. Bronwen was very professional and I had no worries leaving him in her care, I look forward to him staying for boarding as I know he will be well looked after.

If anyone is needing a doggy sitter then I’d highly recommend Tiimmy Evans and his partner Liam. It was my first experience and they went above and beyond to ensure I was 100% happy before Penny’s stay which included a meet and greet in Timmy’s spare time. Tiimmy catered to all of Penny’s needs to ensure her anxiety was kept to a minimum. I was updated will lots of photos, one of which Tiimmy had framed for me on collection of Penny. A lovely sentiment. Again, thank you soo much Tiimmy and Liam. I’m sure we will see you again. 🐾

Julie was absolutely fantastic and made both me and Buster very welcome in her home. This was the first time I had ever had to leave Buster with strangers but, made me feel completely at ease and kept me updated throughout the duration of the booking. Not only did Julie take care of him but it was very clear that he had had fun there and even met a new friend.

At short notice Emma was able to home board our beautiful 11 month old springer spaniel Bryn. Bryn loved his first ever home boarding experience. Emma kept us updated daily with pictures & video’s of Bryn. We could see that he was happy, being cared for and that helped us enjoy our holiday. Bryn is highly energetic and had so much fun with Emma. I would highly recommend Emma. Emma is professional and reliable.

I would highly recommend Neil to anyone looking for someone to care for their fur baby while they're away. Neil looked after our dog for five days while we were on holiday, and we couldn't have been happier with the care he received. He treated our dog as if he were his own, making him feel comfortable, loved, and right at home throughout his stay. We had complete peace of mind knowing our dog was in such caring hands. Thank you, Neil!

I think that I have found the perfect dog sitter. You were an absolute pleasure to work with - fantastic, clear communication, you obviously love dogs, and as promised you sent loads of really good pictures and videos. My Two girls looked to be having a wonderful time, and were happy and tired when I collected them. I would love to trust you to look after them again, if you don't mind having a beagle back! If you're happy to keep in touch, we will be delighted.

I left my little black pug, Lola, in the care of the lovely Jas and her partner Bobby. From the moment I met them, I felt at ease as they seemed genuinely kind and caring people. Jas sent regular updates and even offered video calls during Lola’s stay, which gave me great peace of mind. Lola came back tired and happy, which says it all. Jas was emotional when returning Lola, and it was clear they had formed a real bond. I know my baby was truly loved and very well cared for during the 8 days she stayed with them. I would absolutely recommend Jas as a pet sitter and will definitely be using her services again in the future.

We’ll definitely be rebooking, thank you for giving Bob a lovely holiday!

About: I have grown up owning dogs, fish, ferrets, guinea pigs, hamster's and cats. My nursing career has helped me develop the qualities that are also important in excellent pet care: patience, responsibility, attentiveness, and compassion. I carefully manage my availability and only accept bookings that I know I can fully commit to, so when your pet is in my care, you can feel confident that they will receive the time, attention, and care they deserve. I work locally as an NHS nurse, so I’m available for pet care on weekends, after 5pm on weekdays and during periods of annual leave. I am also happy to board pets that are used to being home alone during the daytime. I’m reliable and organised and will always make sure I have plenty of time to give your pet the care, attention and companionship they need. I’m responsible, caring and used to putting wellbeing and safety first. I’ll bring the same level of care and attention to looking after your pet. I understand the importance of following routines, instructions and individual needs, and I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable and well cared for while you’re away. Due to the nature of my profession I am DBS checked.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
