Kayla was wonderful with my dog, Ruby, who was treated like part of the family. I had regular updates in both photo and video form, and Ruby looked like she was having a great time. I recommend Kayla highly, and will definitely book with her again.

This was my first time using Rover, so I was a little nervous about leaving my dog Winnie, but Juliette was absolutely amazing. She was so kind, caring, and reassuring from the start, which really put my mind at ease. She kept me updated throughout her time with Winnie and sent regular pupdates, which I really appreciated. It was clear Winnie was happy and well looked after. I would highly recommend Juliette in a heartbeat and wouldn’t hesitate to book her again. Thank you so much, Juliette! 🐾

We left our dog Leia with Sophie for the weekend, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. This was the first time we’ve left Leia with anyone other than family and she made us feel at ease. We received regular updates and videos, which really made a difference and reassured us while we were away. Leia came home happy and clearly very well looked after. We wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving dog boarder. Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of Leia!😊

Kingsley was a 10 out of 10 looking after Ozzy, we were a bit nervous as Ozzy can be a bit anxious sometimes, but since the first meet-up Kingsley was very clear about his rules to make sure that Ozzy feels safe and happy during the stay, that and the constant updates through the weekend gave us loads of reassurance to book with Kingsley on next ocasions.

About: I started my journey on rover while I was in university in 2022, and having furry companions made my uni experience so much better. I now work full time from home, so it would be great to still care for new furry friends! I’m currently working full time but I work from home so am very flexible and would love to look after your four legged friends! I love nature and walking, so your dogs will always get plenty of exercise with me. I’ve had experience with dogs of all shapes and sizes, and love every one of them! I’m well equipped to deal with bigger, more high maintenance dogs due managing my own reactive GSD. Sadly, we lost my dog Oatie very recently to cancer. I used to love to explore with him, so know plenty of local spots. He was a very challenging dog, who could be reactive at times, leaving me with plenty of experience with dogs that can be tricky to handle, especially around strangers or other dogs. If you choose boarding, we have a lovely big & secure garden, with ample space for your dog(s) to explore. They will usually sleep in my room with me, but this is of course circumstantial on your pets needs.

Amazing. Sandy was so comfortable with them and she is a shy dog. Will be using Beth again asap and sandy can’t wait haha

About: We’ve grown up with dogs and have been around them most of our lives, so we’re very comfortable handling their day-to-day needs. We also regularly look after friends’ dogs, which has given us experience with a range of breeds, temperaments, and routines. We both work from home every day, so dogs in our care get plenty of attention, supervision, and company throughout the day. We’re used to managing feeding, walks, and general care, and we make sure to stick to each dog’s usual routine to help them stay settled while their owners are away. During the week, we both work from home, with one office day each scheduled on different days, ensuring that there is always one of us at home to care for the dog. We finish work at 3pm, allowing plenty of time for an evening walk and attention. On weekends, we are not working, so the dog would enjoy more dedicated time with us, often including day trips typically to the beach. Your dog’s safety and wellbeing are a top priority. The property features a secure, fully fenced garden with a padlocked gate, providing a safe outdoor space for exercise and play, including a generous area of natural grass. We are also fully licensed by the local council for dog sitting, meaning the home has been inspected and approved to meet required safety standards. For added peace of mind, we do not own any dogs and never mix pets from different households, ensuring your dog receives dedicated care and a calm, controlled environment at all times.

About: Hi! I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life—dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and more—and caring for them has always been a passion of mine. I’m dedicated to creating a calm, friendly environment tailored to each dog’s unique needs, whether that means following specific dietary requirements, giving extra cuddles, or just providing a steady routine. I treat every dog as if they were my own, and my goal is to make both pups and their owners feel completely comfortable and at ease. 🐶🐾 I currently work part time and have a very flexible schedule, therefore I am able to care for your pup on both weekdays and weekends 🦴🐕 I prioritize safety by following care instructions, using secure equipment, and pet-proofing environments. Trust is built through reliable service, regular updates, and respectful treatment of pets and homes. I maintain a clean, calm, and enriching environment tailored to each pet’s needs. About: I have been responsible for my family Labrador Sonny for the last 12 years. My absolute heart and soul! I walk dogs locally in my spare time, pairing my love for the outdoors and my passion for dogs. I also have experience dog sitting in exchange for accomodation abroad which I absolutely love doing! Please feel free to contact me about anything you might need, my schedule is very flexible and I’m always happy to help out in anyway I can:) thank you for considering me. I work a zero hour hospitality job, so usually my work schedule can tailor to your needs. A usual day looks like a healthy breakfast, a big long walk usually between a hour-two hours, then I go to work usually not more than a 5 hour shift, I like cosy evenings at home or strolling on the beach. I genuinely have such a good routine for a dog to slot right in I believe. I care for pets by making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after in either my home or the owner’s home. I follow the pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, exercise, and any specific care instructions. I provide plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship to keep them happy and relaxed. I also maintain a clean environment, monitor their health and behavior, and keep owners updated with messages or photos for peace of mind. I have a fenced garden and live right on the beach for plenty of outdoor time. Also a large park close by!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
