“Elsi had a wonderful time with Stephen, Lydia and all the family. So grateful to them for welcoming Elsi into their home and looking after her so well and giving me peace of mind whilst on holiday that she was safe and being well looked after.”

“We booked our dog Milo in with Alicja & her boyfriend for 9 nights while we went on our first family holiday abroad. Milo is a large border collie with a larger personality. He is a million miles an hour, ball obsessed & needs constant affection. He is the definition of a big baby. This gave us alot of anxiety about leaving him especially for the first time & such a long time. The second we all met, we instantly knew Milo would be treated like their own. They both adore all types of animals & made a massive fuss of Milo making him feel as comfortable as possible. They asked alot of questions to understand Milo's care needs & likes to give him the best care & transition. From the second we dropped him off, Alicja kept me updated with everything. The children really struggled to be away from Milo initially but having the picture & videos gave us that extra bit of reassurance that he was in the best hands so we could enjoy our holiday without worrying. He was taken on multiple walks a day, constantly playing ball, cuddles and kisses whenever he wanted, even cuddles in bed at the end of the day which is one of Milo's favourite thing in the world. It was a home away from his home. We can't thank Alicja & her boyfriend enough for the exceptional care & affection they've given Milo. We are already looking at another holiday and won't hesitate to rebook with Alicja. We are even looking at booking for day sitting when work gets busy so not only can Milo keep his routine but also he can keep that bond with the Alicja. Thank you so much”

“Jacqueline cared for our dogs as if they were her own. She was really kind and thoughtful and sent us lots of updates and photos putting our mind at ease that they were being well cared for. I wouldn’t hesitate to book our girls with her again.”

“I left my Cockapoo Bailey with Ellliw and her golden retriever Owen for 6 nights and everything was beyond expectations! Communication with El was spot on, we even did a meet and greet prior to socialise the dogs which went really well! I had regular updates, several a day, of Bailey’s walks or his downtime and naps indoors. He was so happy and got on so well with Owen that I couldn’t have picked a better dog boarder! Thank you! Highly recommend!👍”

“We had such a great experience with Nia as our dog minder! She kindly arranged a meet beforehand so the dogs could get to know her and her home, which instantly put me at ease. During their stay, she kept in touch regularly with plenty of updates on walks and mornings, which was so reassuring and let me know they were happy and well cared for. The communication was excellent, and it was clear how much care and attention both she and her partner gave. I honestly can’t thank them enough. Nia will definitely be my first point of contact whenever I need a dog minder again. Thank you.”

About: I have taken care of friend's dogs and owned dogs for the last 20 years. We offer a calm family environment with one 8 year old child who is used to having dogs around. We had a French bulldog for 15 years and now have a very gentle and loving labradoodle who loves the company of other dogs, small and large. We have a good sized fenced garden and have lots of lovely dog walking areas nearby. I work from home so I am able to make sure your dog gets lots of opportunities for toilet breaks and walks 🐾 I work from home and I am here the majority the time to care for your dog. We already have a dog who loves to explore the local area and would love another dog for company. My daughter is a very calm child and we have a very quiet home I have a fenced garden and a very friendly dog who loves playing. We are used to crating dogs so can accommodate that, if its your preference.
“She was amazing, helped me out with a last minute booking, when I had been let down by someone else. Bear my dog had a lovely time. She sent me lots of updates and pictures/ videos. I would 100% use her again.”

About: I have 10+ years of animal care I have a GSD, Yorkshire terrier, two rescue cats and two chickens. I have cared for a disabled cat for over a year. I live and breathe animals. They would be loved as my own. I work full time, some days from home and some days from the office. My weekends are about my animals; I have a really large secure garden where they can potter about and enjoy the sun. Two bed house owned, they have full roam of the house, huge garden that’s fence secured. Camera at the front to ensure their safety. 1 walk a day usually at the beach this is around 45 minutes. I scatter feed treats in the garden for stimulation.

“Our dog had a lovely stay with Mollie. She was great with sending through pictures and updates which helped me relax, knowing that he was being well looked after and having a lovely time. Will definitely be looking to see if Mollie is available the next time we need a boarder and would 100% recommend”

“Our dachsund has been with Susana and her partner a few times and I couldn’t praise them enough! I can tell they treat him like he is at home and I am very grateful for that. No request is ever a problem, they are flexible and they keep me updated daily. Will certainly repeat again with them! :)”

“Rhiannon was amazing, we booked for a weekend stay for our 15 year old dog and he absolutely loved it. I received constant updated with photos. I needed an emergency over night sit as our car broke down and Rhiannon was brill and it wasn't an issue. We shall definitely be visiting again :) 10 stars if I could!”

“Juliette was so professional and warm in our initial communication, and then so flexible when it came to making arrangements for our dog, Baloo, She was very friendly and welcoming when we arrived, and clearly loves dogs! Baloo instantly took to her and it was clear that they were going to have a great weekend. Juliette sent regular updates and photos, and we could relax knowing Baloo was in great hands. We definitely recommend Juliette as a dog sitter, and would happily get back in touch if we’re in the Swansea area again and are in need of dog care. Thank you, Juliette!”
“Evie is a wonderful sitter and really cares about the dog. She asks relevant questions and tries to ensure the lifestyle of the dog is taken into consideration during their stay. Updates are plentiful and any concerns are addressed/squashed instantly. Biffy is looking forward to spending more time and being fussed by Evie in the future”

“So kind and helpful! My dog is a very sweet old girl and needed someone calm and kind to rely on for gentle walks and food whilst I was away. We were so lucky to find Gaya, you can instantly tell how much she loves dogs and will really care about looking after them. She helped me as I struggled a bit with the app too :) and was really comminicative and helpful. Thank you!”

“I cannot recommend Anest enough. She is the most patient and compassionate person around animals. She looked after our cockapoo for 2 nights and I have never known him to be so content. After a rocky start, due to him being so chaotic, Anest managed to give him the best weekend, playing with her own dogs and plenty of beautiful walks in the sun, keeping us updated throughout the whole stay. We will definitely be rebooking again with Anest.”

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
