Ceri was very nice and made everything easy. Her home is in a quiet residential area with a garden the dogs can go into. Ceri kept me updated and sent photos and my dog seemed very relaxed and well looked after.

Carrie is an excellent sitter. She helped me out at short notice and as soon as I arrived I knew Billy and Tilly were in good hands. I was a little late returning to collect them but Carrie was understanding. Picked up two very content Jack Russells who seemed to have enjoyed their break too. Highly recommend.

About: Hi there! I'm a genuine dog lover who believes every walk should be fun, safe, and tailored to your dog's personality. Whether your pup loves long adventures, endless sniffing opportunities, or a gentle stroll, I'll make sure they get the exercise, attention, and affection they deserve. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and I currently have three of my own—two that I've raised from puppies and are now 6 years old. I also have a wonderful rescue from a puppy farm, who I took on three years ago when she needed lots of care, patience, and encouragement. She's now a happy and thriving 12-year-old lady, and the experience has taught me so much about understanding dogs of all ages, backgrounds, and temperaments. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your dog, so I'll treat your furry friend as if they were one of my own, keeping you updated with photos and messages along the way. 🐶❤️ I am retired and am passionate about my dogs making sure they have at least one beach walk a day whatever the weather! If the weather is hot I get up at 4.30 ish so I can walk them in the relative cool. Second walks tend to be woodland with rivers as they do like to swim! I have a fenced garden and three friendly cocker spaniels to keep any visitors company. I go out with the dogs in the garden to keep them company.

Another (extended) stay with Kelly and family for Bonnie. Bonnie didn't want to come home! Obviously very well cared for and reassuring for me. Medicines administered. Well done and thanks Kelly. Highly recommended.

Nicholas was very accommodating. He picked up my cat and dropped him off and I booked quite late notice. He always replied quickly to my messages and sent lots of photos and videos of my cat when I was missing him. Overall very positive experience!

About: We have our own little dog, Juno, who is three and I have been caring for and walking my sister's dog for 8 years as well. My partner, who I'm setting this account up with, has many many years of experience of all kinds of pets - everything from ferrets, to pigeons, to our lovely dog. She also has experience with rescue and rehabilitation. So your animal friends will be safe and cared for in our hands I work from home, so my schedule is flexible. We live in Powys and Caerphilly, travelling between the two frequently, so we can cover a wide range of areas We have a fenced garden and a very friendly little dog, called Juno, who is three. If your cat is dog friendly, Juno would also love the chance to befriend a cat. It might be her lifelong wish to become a cat, in fact. We have lots of toys, dog beds, feeding bowls, treats, etc. Animals are allowed on the furniture and bed and we would of course check diet and other needs with you first.

About: I am a friendly student with experience of having my own dog from the ages of 10 up until this year. I love the company of dogs and am more than capable to provide both long and short walks and any attention your dog may need. As a student my calendar is open to many different times (just send me a message and I can see whether I can be flexible). In my own home I have a fenced area at the rear of the property, but am also within a 5 minute drive of ashton court estate, perfect for walks. I will be able to provide bathroom breaks as often as if necessary.

About: Growing up on a farm I have had dogs my whole life, mostly working spaniels. In later years I have owned dauschunds, labs and now a wonderful friendly Cockapoo called Olive. I’ve had all from puppies and each one had its own incredible, strong personality. I adore walking and do so for around one and a half to two hours per day as an average walk with my cockapoo, so provide a lot of exercise. My house has a large garden that is fully fenced and inescapable for the rest of the day. I work from home, so am on hand to care for dogs of all ages, all day! I have a 6 year old daughter, who is fabulous with dogs and understands boundaries, but for those who appreciate affection she is a most willing giver. Our garden is fully fenced. Olive loves other dogs and is a great friend to keep your dog company. If you want me to come to you, then I can do that too and am happy to follow any instructions that you give.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
