About: The real cat-lady cliche. I am lucky to be owned by two adoring cats and a toy poodle and will happily care for your feline friends and cuddly canines whilst you enjoy a holiday. (I can provide you with regular updates and photos too!) I have had cats most of my life- ever since I cheekily adopted a black and white cat, Phoebe, as a young teenager. (My dad was not happy but they became best friends within 48 hours!) The sounds of purrs, the soft fur, the love of a headbutt! I adore cats! I care for dogs and enjoy walks around the coast path with fluffy friends. My own dog, Piper, loves making new friends. I have a DBS check available on the update service I work for myself, from home, so my day can be flexible to fit around the needs of your pet - we can adapt to suit their routine too. I have a fenced garden for toilet breaks, a pet-safe house with 2 dog-friendly cats and one small dog, and access to a nearby secure plot for sniffing and running. I enjoy long walks around Pembrokeshire coast path and am a huge fan of the Stackpole estate too.
“Sophie has been absolutely amazing with our 6 month old Sprocker Phoebe. She’s kept her entertained with walks and lots of play time. We have had updates and lots of photos. Parker has been such a wonderful playmate for Phoebe. Sophie has been really great with communication and adapted to the times we needed for drop off and pick ups. 1000000% recommend”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Pembrokeshire
My shy little Cavachon stayed with Elizabeth for 4 nights and I am delighted to say that the experience was amazing. Elizabeth was very accommodating to Cookie's needs and looked after her very well. We had regular updates and photographs. It really put my mind at rest as I was worried about leaving Cookie to go on holiday. I highly recommend Elizabeth as a dog sitter and will definitely be booking again next year.

Otter had a wonderful week staying with Beth. She took the time to get to know his needs and what he did and didn't like. We received regular updates and photos, and it was great to know he was enjoying his own holiday too. I picked up one happy, content dog. Thanks again. I would highly recommend Beth for dog sitting and hope to book again when we next go away.

Harriet and Sam have been amazing with Kya! She had such a lovely weekend full of walks and cuddles that she almost didn't want to come home! 😂. I felt very comfortable leaving her in their very capable hands and recieved regular updates on what they were getting up to ✨

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
