“Loved Sarah looking after Kipling for a night - so easy and she has an amazing space for the dogs to stay and play together. Her pup Teddy is a sweetheart and kept Kips entertained! Nice to have a lovely family home as a second home while you’re away.”

“10000% would recommend to anyone. Alice and James are a lovely couple and have genuine love and care for looking after your dog. Their beautiful dog Nala was perfect company for our collie x lab cross. We recieved daily updates about our dog, poppy, and what they had been up to. Including pictures and videos of their multiple walks on the beach, through fields and Forrests in their local area. We knew our dog was safe, cared for, and loved and were able to relax on our holiday. Can’t recommend them enough, you will have peace of mind knowing that your dog is having a great time.”

“Keith looked after our GSP overnight when we got married. We had a meet and greet prior which gave us the confidence we needed. We didn't have any worries leaving Bryn with Keith. He was obviously well cared for and when we picked Bryn up, he was absolutely shattered (which is very hard to do!)”

About: I love to be outdoors and spend time with dogs whether it be a walk, games or just cuddles! Growing up, my family always had dogs so I have cared for them my whole life and absolutely adore them. I have experience volunteering at a dog shelter walking and caring for the rescues which was very rewarding. I have been dog-walking and dog-sitting for over 10 years and I just genuinely enjoy being around them. I am available for dog walking most days of the week as I am a student so have a fairly flexible timetable. I could also do dog-sitting in the owner’s home or short visits during the day. I am currently a masters student so I have the odd day/certain hours off during the week where my timetable permits and I am free most weekends. My schedule does vary so it is best to ask in advance. I am unable to care for pets in my current home as it is a student house share but I am happy to come to the owner’s home to let them out during the day or just give them some company.
“I left it very late to organise day care for Monty while we were holidaying in the area. Even after some initial confusion around the booking date (caused by me, not Lowri), she was very helpful. On arrival we were met by Lowri and Beti who both welcomed our boy into their home and he seemed to settle straight in. The host provided us with updates with photos throughout the day to let us know how he was getting on. Thanks for the impeccable service you provided. If we are in the area again, we would definitely use you again.”

“Isabel and family did an absolutely wonderful job looking after our little dachshund. They are clearly very experienced in looking after small dogs, and she took to them immediately (when she is usually rather wary of new people). She had a lovely time, and was so happy and full of beans when we collected her. We will definitely try to book Isabel next time we have to leave Carys, and recommend her strongly to anyone looking for a lovely welcoming stay for their small dog.”

“My boy Teddy had the best time with Catarina. I don’t think he wanted to leave! It was very clear from the start how much Catarina loves and cares for dogs and it was an absolute pleasure meeting her two pups too. Communication was great and Catarina was extremely accommodating in terms of timings. The photos and videos we got are genuinely some of our favourite of Teddy. Thank you so much!”

“Vinnie was able to take Leon at very short notice when we were let down by our usual sitter which was a total life saver!!! She provided excellent care for Leon, taking him on all sorts of adventures with her own dog Rudy. Regular messages and photos kept us updated so we always knew he was in excellent hands! We would definitely book with Vinnie again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for dog sitting on or near Anglesey!”

“Michelle and Alex took great care of our Frenchie! They formed a real bond with him, and he became great friends with their dog Leeloo. They were communicative and consequent, administered his medicine and his nose cream assiduously. And they sent lovely photos and videos. They ate highly recommended!”

About: I grew up loving our two cats and looked after a friend's miniature poodle for 7 months once. Hard to let go after that long! :) I work from home and would be able to keep a loving eye on any pet staying with us, plus give them regular walkies and play times. Just reach out to see if I'm available as the Rover calender seems to be glitching and isn't letting me input my availability as I'd like it to...hopefully will get it sorted soon though, thank you for your patience! I make sure your beloved pets have everything they need at the right times and will be happy to go above and beyond to make sure they are kept happy and comfy, happy to follow any specific instructions provided!
“I have to say that I have been so impressed with the way that Sarah has looked after Piglet, while I visited my family. She has kept me updated on how things were going and also sent photos as well. I could see from the photos how calm Piglet was, so knowing that she can get very excitable at times and also suffered from separation anxiety when I rescued her, I had initially been nervous as I hadn't boarded Piglet before leaving her with Sarah and I had absolutely nothing to worry about at all. I am happy to recommend Sarah to anyone who needs a reliable dog boarder.”

“Our golden retriever Sam had the best time with Dulcie and Cooper while we were at a wedding in Wales. Thank you so much for being so attentive, keeping me updated and even giving him a bath after a trip to the beach. Would absolutely recommend Dulcie to anybody looking for someone to take care of their dog ⭐”

“Sion and Carla were very kind and welcoming. Listened carefully to every detail on how to ‘Maisie’ she can be a hand-full and a little bit crazy. Sion was happy to take her on and she settled in well. She got lots of cuddles up on the couch from all the family and I received photo updates. I’m so glad they treated like part of their family, I was able to relax and enjoy a night out on NYE”

About: I’m a friendly, reliable, and easy-going person who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals. Having grown up with dogs, I’ve always been comfortable caring for them. Although I no longer have a dog of my own, I regularly look after dogs for family and friends, including puppies, senior dogs, and those with behavioural needs that require extra patience and care. I’m trusted to walk, feed, and provide overnight boarding for dogs, often for several days at a time. I have also spent time volunteering at Cardiff Dog's home and have walked many different breeds. I've recently retired so would like to use some of my time looking after dogs. I am generally free most days, however a booking would need to be confirmed in advance. I have a large, secure garden and I'm located close to the beach as well as having plenty of countryside nearby for long walks. I have owned and looked after numerous types of dogs so I am happy to match their energy and to cater for their individual needs.

“Geli loves to go with Agnes, he is so excited to see her and he doesn't even look back to say goodbye! She takes him on stimulating walks, including the beach and the woods, and he just likes being with her and her other dogs. Great service, thanks!”

“Katie looked after our two Dachshunds for two days and nights, whilst we had a family holiday in Llandudno. We were very apprehensive leaving them with anyone, especially someone new. However, Katie was perfect they went straight to her and had a good look around her house as soon as we got there. They normally take a while to accept someone new but they acted like they already had been to stay before. Katie was very calm and friendly and both of them took to her straight away. Katie seems a natural and caring person with animals and sent us updates which helped us feel reassured. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Katie to any dog/pet owner. We hope that we can maybe use Katie's services again next time we visit Llandudno.”

About: I’ve had small dogs my whole life (border terriers/cavapoo), and always enjoyed caring for them and ensuring that they are looked after well and all their needs are met as best as possible. I also enjoy looking after big dogs too as they are always big softies when you get to know them :) I currently work part-time and flexibly so I can offer pet care on most days of the week if given a few days notice. I can likely do last minute pet care appointments too so please get in touch if you need help. I make sure that the pet is settled in its environment and that they can explore all of their curiosities safely. I’ll lay out water and the pets usual food and create a warm homely environment so that the pet can feel at ease. I can also play with the pets inside or outside the house and take them on walks if that’s what the dog needs :)
About: I have always loved dogs and although never grew up with one in my own home, always looked after and walked the neighbours’. My brother has 2 dogs now who I look after frequently and care for and I have previously lived with a roommates dog so I have been around and looked after many! I am currently working a flexible schedule, always available weekends and evenings but please contact for availability midday/midweek and open to longer stays if needed. I have space for a small dog in my home but preference is to look after them in yours. Of course always happy to take them for walks!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
