Left our dog for the first time with Nick and Emma. We were a bit nervous as he has just recovered from cruciate ligament surgery, but he was so well looked after, Nick and Emma fully understood and made sure we had plenty of photos and updates to reassure us that he was absolutely fine! Wouldn’t hesitate to have them look after him in future.

Mike was absolutely wonderful with my anxious dog - all the “problems” I’d had elsewhere with my very active collie, Mike completely took in his stride, and had several solutions for. My dog was not just cared for, he was also entertained, exercised, stimulated and snuggled - he loved his time there and I would not hesitate to use Mike’s services again.

About: Mum to 2 cheeky pugs, so experienced in the care of bracy (flat faced dogs) as well as other breeds (big and small!). I've had pets since I was a young girl and genuinely love dogs and animals! I take pet care very seriously and will put your pets health and safety first. I'm extremely patient (you have to be with stubborn pugs!). Visits and sits will include fuss, play time, cuddles and any care needs. I work full time Mon-Fri but do work from home some days so please contact me for availability. Also available for evening walks/visits as well. I work full time and have 2 dogs of my own but drop me a message to discuss availability! I take my obligations seriously so wouldn't let you down on whatever I've committed to. I have a fenced garden and a secure house. I am used to dogs with no recall so understand the importance of keeping dogs safe. Any visitors would be treated like one of the family including cuddles on the sofa. I am happy to follow feeding and care instructions to the letter!

Ciara is my favorite dog sitter that has ever looked after Khali for me. She’s always so lovely, accommodating, and she communicates regularly to let me know how things are going with pictures as well. I feel really at ease when Khali is staying with her and can enjoy my holidays and breaks with no stress about leaving my dog.

Such a lovely couple I would definitely recommend these two. Unfortunately we had slight issues with the my males dogs being territorial over my female with there male dog which I've never seen before from my dog but I now know this for the future. This issue was handled amazing and they both worked with me to sort it out as this was first time it has happened both friendly kind and always stay in contact xx. Thank you again

About: We’re a family of four, with me and my three children aged 9, 12 and 14, plus our very friendly cocker spaniel, Oreo. We’re a busy, active family who love getting outdoors, going for walks and exploring, so dogs naturally fit into our lifestyle. Oreo is a much-loved part of the family and really enjoys having company, so we’re excited to welcome other friendly dogs into our home and give them lots of love, attention and a real family experience while they stay with us. Your dog won’t be treated like they’re in kennels — they’ll be welcomed as part of our family and included in our normal family life. There are plenty of cuddles, attention, walks and garden time, with someone around for most of the day. I know how difficult it can be leaving your dog with someone else, so I want to make the experience as relaxed and reassuring as possible. I’ve used Rover for dog care myself for years, so I know how important it is to find someone you can really trust with your dog. I understand the reassurance that comes from regular updates, photos and knowing your dog is happy, safe and being well cared for while you’re away. Oreo is very much part of our family, so we’re looking for friendly dogs who would enjoy a fun, relaxed family home and a canine companion. 🐶 I’d love to arrange a meet-and-greet first to make sure your dog and Oreo get along and that we’re the right fit for each other. ❤️ Our Schedule I welcome dogs at weekends and during school holidays. As a teacher, this means I’ll have plenty of time to give them lots of attention and make them part of our family plans. We love getting out and about for walks, exploring forests, visiting the beach and having little adventures, so your dog can come along and enjoy it all with us. Our Environment We live in a cosy, small family home with a secure, fenced garden where dogs can safely potter around, play and relax. It’s a relaxed, welcoming home environment rather than a kennel setting, and we’re happy for dogs to settle into our usual family routine — including plenty of sofa cuddles!

About: Dogs have always been a huge passion of mine, and I’ve spent many years owning, working with and caring for them professionally. My experience began working as a Veterinary Care Assistant, where I gained valuable experience caring for dogs and understanding their health, wellbeing and individual needs. I’m now a professional dog groomer and home-from-home dog boarder, running my own business, Cosy Canines. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs of all breeds, ages, sizes and personalities, and I love getting to know each dog as an individual and making sure they feel safe, happy and comfortable in my care. I’m also about to begin a degree in Canine Behaviour and Training, as I’m passionate about continuing to learn more about dogs and developing my knowledge of their behaviour, communication and wellbeing. I’m canine first aid trained, licensed and insured, and I treat every dog in my care as one of my own. My aim is to provide a genuinely loving, relaxed home-from-home experience, while giving owners peace of mind that their dog is in safe and experienced hands. 🐾❤️ I work as a full-time dog groomer from my purpose-built grooming cabin in my garden, so I am home throughout the day and able to give dogs plenty of care, attention and supervision. My grooming schedule is flexible, allowing me to fit walks, playtime, toilet breaks and plenty of cuddles around my working day. Dogs staying with me are part of the family and have company throughout the day rather than being left alone for long periods. Your dog’s safety and wellbeing are my top priority. I provide a calm, clean and secure home-from-home environment where dogs can settle in and feel part of the family. I have two friendly dogs of my own who are well socialised and used to having visiting dogs around. I also have two dog-savvy children who understand how to behave respectfully around dogs and their boundaries. All interactions are supervised, and I always make sure each dog has space and quiet time when they need it. With over 10 years of experience working with dogs, including my previous experience as a Veterinary Care Assistant and my current work as a professional dog groomer, I am confident recognising changes in behaviour and wellbeing and providing individual care based on each dog’s needs. I am also about to begin a degree in Canine Behaviour and Training, further developing my knowledge and understanding of dogs.

About: Since loosing my beloved doggy Winston earlier in the year, I have made the decision to care and love other people’s fur babies rather than get another dog. I absolutely love dogs and care for them to a very high standard. I have been on websites such as Borrow my Doggy and due to my popularity on this site, I have begun the process of setting up an official dog boarding service. I could spend every day with a dog and be very happy! Winston had diabetes and went blind. I have experience in caring for dogs who require daily injections and diet management aswell as sensory support. I have cared for dogs who are deaf and dogs both young and old. I love to walk and will tailor walk lengths to the dogs capabilities. I live in a detached house with large rear garden that is secure. I can offer both week day and weekend support. I also like to go the extra mile for those I meet and the dogs I care for. I have cared for a dog with ongoing medical needs and understand how costs can be crippling. I would be happy to offer support at short notice or services such as an extended day support or pick up and drop offs. I have cared for a variety of different breeds and love them all! I can support owners with more than one dog 🐾🐶 I can offer overnight support across week days and weekends, day care support and walks. I will also support over bank holidays if I am available. I cannot offer day support on a Wednesday or night time support on a tuesday night. This can be adapted if your dog can have periods of time unsupervised (for example they are staying for a few days whilst owners are on holiday). I have a large secure rear garden where your dog can play and get some fresh air. My house is detached and we have no issue with barkers ! The downstairs is open plan which is positive for doggy supervision. I offer home from home services and will tailor my support to what you need. I live by a nice park where I will walk the dogs or if possible, take them slightly further afield to the race course or places such as loggerheads. I’ve catered for dogs who have slept on the bed as this is what they do at home 😂 I will adapt the support I provide to what your dog does at home.

About: I’ve been a reliable dog sitter for friends, family, and have always had dogs in the house since I was little! I have experience caring for dogs of different breeds, sizes, and energy levels, providing walks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of affection. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, interactive play, or simply relaxing with company, I'm happy to tailor my care to what makes them feel comfortable and happy 😊 I work from home as a freelancer, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to be available throughout the day for pet care. I can easily accommodate morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend visits. My flexible routine means I can adapt to your pet's schedule and ensure they receive reliable, attentive care while you're away. I will always follow the owner's instructions carefully to keep their routine as consistent as possible. I also have a large fenced in garden with lots of open space for them to play and roam, as well as being next to lots of walking areas. I provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away.

I can’t recommend Oliver and his partner highly enough! They took such wonderful care of my dog Archie while I was away. I received tons of adorable photo updates, which gave me so much peace of mind and let me see just how much fun Archie was having. Archie and their dog Milo became fast friends, seeing them play together was the absolute highlight of my day. It was clear from the pictures and videos that Archie was not only well cared for, but genuinely having the time of his life. From long walks to cuddle sessions, every detail was thoughtful and loving.

About: Hi I'm izzy! I live with 3 other lovely vet students (although just me taking care for pet-sitting), I don't own any pets during term time so very much always looking to take care of some animals! I've pet-sat on and off through vet school, most of these have been dogs. When back at home in Lincoln, I am the proud owner of two cuddly cats called Chutney and Pickle, and previously my big fluffy shepherd, Murphy. We are very familiar with all types of animals at the vet school, young and old, and I am perfectly happy giving medications or any other requirements, just let me know. I live a 5 minute drive from the Leahurst university campus, so always available at lunch times and for quick checkups! I am free for long scenic walks at evenings and weekends. The garden is fenced in (greyhound proof!). The kitchen/living room has space for large dog beds, with upstairs offering large and quiet rooms for pets to relax in. I do not currently own any of my own pets.

Amazing experience with Gabrielle and her family. Jasper stayed for 9 nights he usually stays with family and at his own home. So we we’re a little apprehensive and worried about leaving him but we needn’t had been as he was so happy and content with Gabrielle. We had a meet and greet at their home prior to Jaspers stay, we had daily photographs and updates whilst we we’re away and he looked like he was enjoying his holiday as much as we were. This made our holiday more enjoyable. We Can’t recommend Gabrielle highly enough. Thankyou to you and your lovely family for looking after one of our family.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Dog Boarding in Flintshire on Rover is £39.1 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 924 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Flintshire. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Wales may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
