“Saoirse was fantastic at looking after Milo for us. We received regular updates and photos, and he seemed like he had the best time staying with her. She took such good care of him and we can tell he was shown so much love and attention. I think he was a little sad his own holiday was over when we picked him up 🥲 Milo became very fond of Saoirse and we will be booking again for our next trip very soon and all future trips. 100% recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Amazing experience from start to finish! I was feeling anxious about leaving Archie for the first time however I felt completely at ease with instant updates and pics 😊 can tell Archie had a lovely time as he’s very happy and relaxed! Jack really stepped up to help us last minute as another sitter cancelled on us and was so flexible and helpful. Thank you so much Jack! We are very grateful and Archie is looking forward to staying again in august! 😃💙”

“Amelie was a dream come true! It was the first time leaving our two babies with anybody like this but a change of circumstances left us in a pickle. Amelie was so supportive throughout the process and made us feel immediately at ease. It was lovely to receive daily updates on our trip and it was obvious she had already made a loving connection with Teddy & Sonny from the first day. The real review is from the pups though, they were so happy there, we could see that from the pictures but also from the way they acted at her home. If they could talk I'm sure they would say "we had a lovely holiday, we were well looked after and well cared for". Amelie will be our first choice in future. Thank you Amelie, you made what was a worrying time into something wonderful and Ted & Sonny look forward to staying with you again in the future (they told me 😊).”

“After meeting Casimiro we felt completely at ease leaving our labradoodle with him. Our dog Oreo was so well looked after and he was happy and returned to us with what I am sure was a bit of sadness at having to leave his company. He was obviously very spoilt. 😃. Highly recommend and we have no doubts in recommending Casimiro. 🐾”

“I’ve never left Nebo with anyone before and had to this time as my friend, who I was staying with, has a cat and I wasn’t sure Nebo would cope with that. Plus we were travelling by train, which my border collie is happy with but once again I wasn’t sure whether Nebo would cope with. Nebo had a lovely time with Trisha and her dog Juliet, I felt really comfortable about his staying there, she gave us updates and photos whilst he was there which I really appreciated as it was the first time I’d left him and I felt a little guilty about doing that, so four days was a good test. Trisha, her partner, and Juliet (dog) were lovely and I’d feel much more comfortable if I had to leave him again, a great experience all round. Thank you Trisha, partner and of course Juliet.”

“Amy responded quickly to my last minute booking and was able to have Isla at very short notice which was so helpful! She sent me lots of updates which was very reassuring and isla was extremely relaxed in her care. Amy was very communicative and honest and won't hesitate to use her again if the need arises. Thank you!”

“Cristina was amazing with our pup, she made us feel completely at ease leaving clover for the first time and I think clo really thrived being around Zelda! We are really grateful that our big girl was completely understood as the big excited puppy she is, we would 100% use Cristina again!”

“Nicola and the family what can I say but a huge thank you. Lots of pics sent. Bailey is well look after. Communication is amazing 👏 Bailey loved staying over night Lots of walks which he loved. Hope stay soon 🐾”

“Another amazing stay for our little dog! We’re safe in the knowledge that Heather really takes great care of her and takes her on some fantastic walks! Thanks Heather!”

“Matthew was superb with Daisy from beginning to end,I was so nervous about leaving her as was worried she be fretting for us but from the minute we took her my mind was put at ease, she absolutely loved her stay,we were kept up to date with texts and photos of her on her walks and having treats, you could she was getting spoilt rotten and loving it!if your looking for someone to mind your pet,I’d 100% recommend Matthew, will definitely use him everytime we need Daisy minding”

About: I’m Adam, a 37 year old animal lover living in Liverpool. Originally from Australia, I grew up with cats and dogs of all sizes until I was 25, which sparked a real lifelong passion for animals. I love giving them plenty of care, regular playtime, and affection. I live alone in a quiet apartment with private access in a cul-de-sac, with parks and a canal nearby. This offers a calm and secure environment for pets. I work from home running my own online business, so I’m almost always here to provide consistent care, company, and attention throughout the day. Even though I don’t have pets of my own right now, I’m always thrilled to welcome yours into my home and treat them like part of the family. I work from home with an online business with a flexible schedule so I'll have plenty of time to look after your pets. I'm available almost everyday including most weekends. I care for all animals like they are my own and I will always try to maintain a calm and safe environment for every pet I take care of. I am happy to follow the owner's instructions, routines and requirements. I have owned and have experience with dogs big and small and also had cats over the years. I don't have a garden but it's a quiet street in a cul-de-sac with plenty of spots outside for toilet breaks. Whether it's a stay at my home or yours I will ensure the pets receive lots of attention, care and affection.
“We dreaded leaving our little dog with anyone but Elizabeth and her family were fantastic with Dudley. Although he has only stayed with her for 1 day and night so far he seemed really settled and happy when we picked him up. Throughout his short stay, Elizabeth kept us up to date with messages and photos which reassured us that he was being well looked after and cared for. We have booked Dudley in for a couple of longer stays with Elizabeth over the coming months and we feel confident in doing so.”

“Carys was a fabulous sitter! Tara looked so happy staying with her, and she sent us lots of cute photos of our pup and updates throughout the trip. These updates really brightened my day and helped me feel assured knowing Tara was in good hands. :)”

“Opie had a great stay! From the start, everything felt really professional—they provided a form to fill out and arranged a meet and greet beforehand, which gave me a lot of confidence. During his day and overnight stay, I was kept regularly updated on how Opie was doing and what he was getting up to, which I really appreciated. It made me feel relaxed knowing he was in good hands. Overall, a very positive experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Highly recommend!”

“What can i say! Sylwia and her partner were incredible with our beautiful spot, he can be anxious when meeting new people so he will sometimes bark and want you to sit with him so he can smell you an get used to you then he becomes your best friend, spot didnt bark once meeting sylwia and her partner, and the updates and pictures and videos made us feel so at ease, we have 100% found our regular dog minders now in sylwia and her partner, thank you for taking such great care of our beautiful boy, lots of love and thanks mandi and family and not forgetting spot xx”

Jasmin provided an excellent service looking after our dog Penny for 5 days. She was very flexible about pick up and drop off times. Jasmin is friendly and kept us updated everyday with photos of Penny's adventures. She has her own dog basket full of toys and provided some of her own treats. Jasmin even paid money to take Penny to an enclosed field for an off lead run. This is going above and beyond in my eyes. Thank you Jasmin we will definitely be back next year 😊

Jay was absolutely first class. We live in London but were visiting family and friends on the Wirral. We needed our nearly 1 year old cockapoo looking after for the night while we went on a ferry party. Jay let us & Gracie meet her at her house for introductions the day before. She was very friendly and caring and really put us at ease knowing Gracie would be in safe hands. Gracie was very happy to return to Jay the next day and, in fact, pulled to get into the house! Jay kept us immediately updated with video and photos of Gracie on a walk and playing. I think Jay understood and alleviated my anxiety. I would not hesitate to recommend Jay and would definitely use her again next time we're on the Wirral.

Best experience ever for Charlie and us. Charlie got back to us super happy, calm and well treated - I even thought he wouldn't want to come back to us 😅. Casi went above and beyond our expectations! We received regular updates, pics and overall information to keep us at ease. 10 stars if I could give them! Thank you so much ❤️

I couldn't ask for a better dog sitter. From the moment we met, it was clear how much she genuinely loves and understands dogs. Looking after my dogs in her own home meant they were treated like part of the family, with plenty of love, attention, and care. I received regular updates and photos, which gave me complete peace of mind while I were away. Our dogs came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well looked after. It's such a relief knowing there's someone I can trust completely. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and professional home-from-home experience for their dog. We will definitely be booking again. Thank you for taking such amazing care of my furry family members!
We couldn't have asked for a better doggie minder for Max! Liz looked after him so well for the two weeks we were away, giving us complete peace of mind with regular contact and photos. He was so happy and settled, we're not even sure he wanted to come home! Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of him – we wouldn't hesitate to recommend you.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
