“Saoirse was amazing with my dixie xx I couldn’t have found any one better. Dixie hasn’t had the best experiences with boarding which has left her extremely stressed and we really needed someone to have patience, love, cuddles and time for her xx And that’s exactly what she got with Saoirse xx I received pictures, updates which made me feel incredibly calm knowing she was comfortable and in safe loving hands xxx I can’t thank you enough and how amazing and chilled she was returning home xx I will absolutely because using Saoirse again xxx see you soon xxx”

“Joanne has been great, she kept in touch during my Audrey’s stay and sent photos, couldn’t be happier, so glad we have found someone to have our little lady, will be re booking!”

“This was our first time using the site, having never left our Boston Terrier Hugo with anyone other than family before. Jack was very responsive and accommodating to our needs, and even suggested a pre-meet for both Hugo and Jack to become familar, which I thought was a sensible idea and really put me at ease. We received regular updates and photos over the weekend, which reassured us that Hugo was in good hands. When I went to pick him up, I don't think he wanted to leave! I would definitely use Jack again.”

“Trisha, Shane & Juliet - thank you so much for looking after Socks this week after i needed to travel away for work. Socks had a fantastic time staying with you & had lots of play with Juliet, snuggles and walks with you both. You did a fantastic job of keeping me up to date on how Socks was & what she had been up doing. Have no hesitation in recommending you to others to look after their furry friends. Socks is already looking forward to visiting you all again in August. Thank you again.”

“After meeting Casimiro we felt completely at ease leaving our labradoodle with him. Our dog Oreo was so well looked after and he was happy and returned to us with what I am sure was a bit of sadness at having to leave his company. He was obviously very spoilt. 😃. Highly recommend and we have no doubts in recommending Casimiro. 🐾”

I would definitely recommend Nicola and her lovely family, and I would definitely ask Nicola if Charlie could board with them again.”

“Amy responded quickly to my last minute booking and was able to have Isla at very short notice which was so helpful! About: I’ve had pets over the last 10 years unfortunately I recently lost both my bulldogs oinn the past year and it’s left a huge hole in my heart they was babies. I miss the company , cuddles & walks . I’d like to give back and help others owners know there pet is in safe hands :) I work from home & have a flexible job so have plenty of time to look after your pet whether it be playing in the garden , snuggles on the couch or daily walks I have a fenced off garden, gated Front , built in big crate (if needed) Spacisj downstairs for your pup to walk about , clean & dog friendly

“Amelie was a dream come true! It was the first time leaving our two babies with anybody like this but a change of circumstances left us in a pickle. Amelie was so supportive throughout the process and made us feel immediately at ease. It was lovely to receive daily updates on our trip and it was obvious she had already made a loving connection with Teddy & Sonny from the first day. The real review is from the pups though, they were so happy there, we could see that from the pictures but also from the way they acted at her home. If they could talk I'm sure they would say "we had a lovely holiday, we were well looked after and well cared for". Amelie will be our first choice in future. Thank you Amelie, you made what was a worrying time into something wonderful and Ted & Sonny look forward to staying with you again in the future (they told me 😊).”

About: We have always had dogs in the family ranging from jack Russels, labradors and Shih Tzus. We currently have a very friendly greyhound, Seamus who is both dog and cat friendly. We have a lot of experience with dog minding so let us take care of your dog with the peace of mind we will treat them like our own. We live close to the beach, parks and woodland and your dog will be out every day with us enjoying the fresh air. If your dog sleeps on the couch or bed at home then we will do the same as we know how important it is for your dog to feel comfortable and happy. We are a family of 3 - myself, my husband Sean and our 5 year old daughter. I currently work 2 days a week as a district nurse. Our mother in law kindly pops in to see Seamus for us when we are in work and is happy to do the same if we ever had your dog on a working day but we would usually work around this and my husband can work from home. We go for daily walks and have local parks and the beach close by so your fur baby will be spoilt for choice for walkies! We will try and ensure we keep to a routine for your dog as we know they like their comforts! We have a fenced yard and a local park that we go to daily, we also have a closed off field near by with gates for your dog to run around if they are not great off lead, this ensures they are safe at all times. We have a local beach we also go to. Our greyhound Seamus is very friendly and is used to having dogs in the home. If your dog sleeps on the couch or bed we will accommodate this. We have a 5 year old very pet savvy little girl who absolutely loves looking after animals. Our daughter is aware to give dogs time to get used to new environments and people and she is very kind to animals so please be assured you dog will be in safe hands with her. Even though our daughter is very experienced with animals your dog would never be left alone with her so your dog will be comfortable at all times.

Dobby had a great time with Heather. She has a very calm presence which seemed to help Dobby warm to her quickly. She was very attentive to the care instructions which is always super important with this breed. She was also very try accommodating to last minutes changes we made to the booking. Would recommend :)

I cannot thank you enough for taking such wonderful care of our dog while we were away! You treated him like family, and it gave us total peace of mind during our holiday. You are incredibly kind, caring, and professional. We will definitely bring him back next time. Highly recommended to anyone who wants the absolute best for their pet!"
Thank you so much Kate for looking after Alvin when we were let down at the last minute. Kate sent regular updates and pictures throughout Alvin's stay and we could tell how comfortable and happy he looked (which put us at ease while we were away). Alvin loved spending time with Ulla, the pup, and got comfy in the pub (his favourite place!). Thank you so much Kate. We would definitely book again x

Chico loved his time with jasmine, he was there for ten days and was well looked after. I recieved pictures and regular updates about Chico. I felt really comfortable leaving Chico in jasmines care, I’ve never left him before so I was slightly worried about how he would react especially with him being an old dog! Jasmine messaged me when she had concerns over Chico which made me feel more comfortable as I know that she was looking after him and making him comfortable as possible why I was away. I would highly recommend jasmine and will be using her service again in the future. Thank you again for looking after Chico.

Biscuit had the most amazing stay with Carys! Would hundred percent recommend to anyone to leave their pet with Carys. I felt confident from the initial meet and my expectations were far exceeded. Communication and updates throughout the stay were fab - some excellent videos and photos throughout ! He did some amazing days out !!! I will most definitely use again ! Thanks Carys !

Our boys had a lovely stay with Georgi and Mike! They are very experienced, the boys had multiple walks a day, and they were kept safe at home when it was over 30° for the entire day. The house was perfectly set up for them with many places to choose their spot (Nigel chose the windowsill and Gordon found a snug den in the corner). We got so many pupdates which really helped us relax on our mini break. Would definitely book again, thanks Georgi!

My dog is quite anxious and this was his first time being away from me in Liverpool but he had a great time! Emily asked all the right questions and sent me lots of updates and photos which was very reassuring when I was away Pickle is also very cute and made friends with my dog over the weekend Highly recommend if you are worried about leaving your dog with someone 🙂

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
