“Saoirse was fantastic at looking after Milo for us. We received regular updates and photos, and he seemed like he had the best time staying with her. She took such good care of him and we can tell he was shown so much love and attention. I think he was a little sad his own holiday was over when we picked him up 🥲 Milo became very fond of Saoirse and we will be booking again for our next trip very soon and all future trips. 100% recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“We couldn’t thank Jack enough for looking after our family Dog, Narla! We would 100% recommend him, we booked Jack quite last minute and he was very accommodating and I was able to meet and greet Jack in his home prior to Narla staying for the weekend, which put my mind at ease knowing she would be well looked after! Jack sent regular updates and photos throughout and treated Narla like his own! Thanks again, we will be rebooking 😊 x”

“Dash and Marby enjoyed their stay with Joanne she really put us at ease leaving them. Joanne was patient with Dash who is very weary of people and he looked at home and comfortable when we picked him up. Thanks Joanne we will defo book again.”

“Heather was fab! She was fantastic with Joey and alleviated any fears I had. She sent updates and pictures which was great. Her confidence straight away with him was fab too especially because he likes fuss! Will definitely book again 💗”

“Liz and Kev were amazing with Axl while I was on holiday. They were so caring and attentive, sending me daily updates and making sure he had a great time. They took him on plenty of interesting walks, including the beach and around the city centre, and it was clear he was in great hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave him with them again, absolutely recommend and fiver stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟”

“Lok Him was absolutely fantastic with Jaffa and I would not even have to think about boarding her with him again. He will be the first port of call from now on. Jaffa seamed to return to us enjoying walks more than previously. She was herself and in great health. Thank You So much. Received regular updates, photos and communication. I felt I totally can trust Lok him with my precious dog.”

“Super! We left our Westie, Maisie, with Violeta whilst we were away on a week's holiday. Violeta sent pictures of Maisie while we were away and she also put these on Facebook so that we could make sure that Maisie was OK. We picked Maisie up this morning and she seemed very relaxed - not like after she had been in kennels after our last holiday. We would have no problem in leaving Maisie with Violeta again as we can tell that she was well cared for while we were away!”

“Buckey had the best time and can’t wait to go back ! Highly recommend, Helen was great and kept us up to date with how Buckey was doing. We would definitely use again. Such a lovely couple 🥰”

“Well what can I say. Elizabeth was a great sitter for my dog. She keep in communication with me regularly and sent photos of my dog daily. 5 star's is not enough. A very warm setting. Will dafo us again. Thanks again”

“Maverick had a great time with Tom and Liz , they looked after him as if he was their own! Even though we picked him up earlier than we expected because we missed him a lot!! they were very accommodating! Took some great pictures on their adventure walkies around Sefton park! Maverick will surely be back?”

“After meeting Casimiro we felt completely at ease leaving our labradoodle with him. Our dog Oreo was so well looked after and he was happy and returned to us with what I am sure was a bit of sadness at having to leave his company. He was obviously very spoilt. 😃. Highly recommend and we have no doubts in recommending Casimiro. 🐾”

“Casper really enjoyed his stay with Sarah. He had lots of exciting walks and many cuddles. The regular updates and photos let us know that he was happy and safe. We will definitely be booking Sarah again.”

“Alison was a wonderful dog sitter for my dog Charlie. She sent us regular updates whilst we were on holiday which put our minds completely at ease. We will be using Alison again as Charlie really enjoyed himself. Overall he had a great stay!”

“We honestly couldn’t recommend them highly enough. They have been absolutely brilliant with our dog, and it’s so clear how much they genuinely adore her. Every time she stays with them, she has the best time, and we always feel completely at ease knowing she’s in such loving, capable hands. It means the world to us to have someone we trust so fully with our precious girl, and we’re so grateful for the care, attention, and love they give her. Truly exceptional dog sitters!”
“Jen was amazing with Babs. She went on nice walks and we got lots of pictures which the kids loved as they really miss her. Highly recommended if you need someone to look after your dog.”

“Nicola and her family looked after Charlie so well. Not only were they flexible around changing times and able to accommodate them, they were able to manage his separation anxiety very well. I would definitely recommend Nicola and her lovely family, and I would definitely ask Nicola if Charlie could board with them again.”

“I had to fly out of the country last minute and had no one to take care of my dog. Charlene was very accommodating even though it was a last minute request! No fuss at all. She sent me videos of Moffie while I was away. Moffie had a great time in her place and even met a new friend as there was another dog staying with her too during that time. If ever I need to be away again, I'd definitely trust her to look after him again! Thank you, Charlene!”

Charlotte was fabulous from start to finish, with ease of drop off/pick up times no issues whatsoever. She is so friendly and clearly has a great way with animals. I trusted her straight away with my dog who took to her instantly also! Charlotte kept great communication and sent me photos whilst I was on holiday. She took such good care of my dog and had him out at the beach, visiting a care home and on many lovely walks with great interactions with others and her friends doggy. She was a pleasure to get to know and I would most definitely have her to sit my dog again in the future and I would 100% recommend her to others! Thank you again Charlotte x

I would absolutely recommend Lok. Barney is not the easiest dog to mind, but he clicked straight away with Lok. Lok was very clear, and understanding, and kept updating with photos of Barney, taking him on lots of walks, and hydrating Barney regularly through the heatwave. Lok responded straight away. I think a telling testament to Lok is, when I arrived to pick Barney up, he was in no rush to leave!. I would definitely use Lok again. David Flynn and Barney.

Jay was absolutely wonderful. This was the first time our 7 month old Labradoodle had been left. Jay let us come and meet her a week before the stay and I instantly felt at ease with her. Jay sent us photos and videos of Minnie during the stay and I know she was so well cared for. I would highly recommend Jay, I can’t thank her enough and I hope she will be our regular sitter.

Raquel was absolutely brilliant! She sent constant updates, pictures and videos of our dog which was really appreciated. Even if she was giving him a new food like apple or blueberries etc.. she would check in with me to see whether that would be okay. My dog came home so tired from his holiday at Raquels house because he had so much fun ✨☺️

I cannot recommend highly enough. Had a last minute emergency booking and Jayadev helped straight away, I was so reassured to see my two dogs clearly having the time of their lives in daily updates of adventures in park, home and beach. Excellent communicarion and two very happy dogs. Would definitely use again!

It have been a while since I had a night from Kya and had a feeling Kya was going to be in good hands so held off as long as possible to check in and when I did, I got the best updates and she was having the best time at Josie’s and I’ll hopefully be able to book her in again

Anna was brilliant with shankley walks everyday constant updates with pics and videos she was taking care of my aunties dog as she’s been very poorly in hospital and she made her feel so much better knowing shankley was in a happy safe home definitely would recommend

Carla looked after my dog Benji so well that I didn’t have to worry about him at all . She gave me regular updates on how he was settling down and provided some lovely photos and I found this very reassuring. I would not hesitate to recommend Carla, she is very professional and a genuine animal lover. I know that Benji will always be in safe hands.

As of June 2026, there are 2,378 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Liverpool. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
