“Ciara was lovely and Dougal really enjoyed staying with her. Ciara let us know how he was doing and sent us some photos. We would definitely be happy for Dougal to stay with Ciara again 😊”

“Alan, Hil and their son took excellent care of our dog Honey for a week. We got regular updates with lots of pictures and videos. Honey always looked like she was having the best time. They provided lots of mental and physical enrichment for her. They took her out on lots of walks and trips out to the forest and river. They treated her like a part of their family. I wouldn't hesitate to have them look after Honey again in future and will definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a sitter.”

About: Since loosing my beloved doggy Winston earlier in the year, I have made the decision to care and love other people’s fur babies rather than get another dog. I absolutely love dogs and care for them to a very high standard. I have been on websites such as Borrow my Doggy and due to my popularity on this site, I have begun the process of setting up an official dog boarding service. I could spend every day with a dog and be very happy! Winston had diabetes and went blind. I have experience in caring for dogs who require daily injections and diet management aswell as sensory support. I have cared for dogs who are deaf and dogs both young and old. I love to walk and will tailor walk lengths to the dogs capabilities. I live in a detached house with large rear garden that is secure. I can offer both week day and weekend support. I also like to go the extra mile for those I meet and the dogs I care for. I have cared for a dog with ongoing medical needs and understand how costs can be crippling. I would be happy to offer support at short notice or services such as an extended day support or pick up and drop offs. I have cared for a variety of different breeds and love them all! I can support owners with more than one dog 🐾🐶 I can offer overnight support across week days and weekends, day care support and walks. I will also support over bank holidays if I am available. I cannot offer day support on a Wednesday or night time support on a tuesday night. This can be adapted if your dog can have periods of time unsupervised (for example they are staying for a few days whilst owners are on holiday). I have a large secure rear garden where your dog can play and get some fresh air. My house is detached and we have no issue with barkers ! The downstairs is open plan which is positive for doggy supervision. I offer home from home services and will tailor my support to what you need. I live by a nice park where I will walk the dogs or if possible, take them slightly further afield to the race course or places such as loggerheads. I’ve catered for dogs who have slept on the bed as this is what they do at home 😂 I will adapt the support I provide to what your dog does at home.
“A very lovely couple with a sweet dog of their own. They made Dolly very welcome and she was very happy to stay with them, I have rebooked for another weekend. Their set-up is very professional and there is plenty of space in the area for walkies.”

“Loretta watched my dog for 23 days, and she was absolutely wonderful! She took fantastic care of my fur baby, sent regular updates, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. My dog was so happy and well-cared for. I couldn't have asked for a better sitter. I highly recommend Loretta and would definitely book with her again!”

“This was our first time leaving Teddy with a boarder and I feel like we have made a great pick with Artur and Wioleta! They have been great in wanting to meet him and have a trial stay before a longer stay later in the year. A real home from home environment 😊”

About: I have taken care of family and friends dogs for a long time. I also walk an elderly ladies dog through the Cinnamon Trust. I love spending time with dogs. I'm currently taking a summer break from work after 20 years, therefore I have plenty of time to spend with your animals. I enjoy walking dogs in the park right by my house. I have a fenced decent sized garden for pets to enjoy. I enjoy a walk in the local park and fields for them to enjoy. I enjoy spending time with pets and I' very trusted to look after and care for them.

About: I’ve been a reliable dog sitter for friends, family, and have always had dogs in the house since I was little! I have experience caring for dogs of different breeds, sizes, and energy levels, providing walks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of affection. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, interactive play, or simply relaxing with company, I'm happy to tailor my care to what makes them feel comfortable and happy 😊 I work from home as a freelancer, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to be available throughout the day for pet care. I can easily accommodate morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend visits. My flexible routine means I can adapt to your pet's schedule and ensure they receive reliable, attentive care while you're away. I will always follow the owner's instructions carefully to keep their routine as consistent as possible. I also have a large fenced in garden with lots of open space for them to play and roam, as well as being next to lots of walking areas. I provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away.
“Sinem was amazing! I’m an apprehensive dog mom and she made me feel so at ease. She sent us daily pictures and even a picture shortly after we dropped her off which made us feel much more comfortable. She told us how our dog Sorpresa was acting so we knew she was happy. Sinem has great energy and you can tell she loves dogs 😍. She did all of the extra things we asked for our dog and gave her the medication she’s on each morning, she even got our old dog to play with toys more! Barney was a gentleman and shared his space with her and they bonded more than we thought! Lots of pictures of them cuddling and sitting together. We can’t recommend Sinem enough, we will definitely be bringing Sorpresa back in the future!”

“Thanks for looking after him so well. Hes got a lot of energy and can find it hard to settle but you made him feel at home. Great comunication, loved seeing the photos and videos and knowing he was happy there.”

About: We are mad about dogs! With over 40 years of experience owning and caring for dogs, from tiny puppies taking their first steps to much-loved elderly companions enjoying their quieter years, we truly understand what it means to care for your dog. We’ve welcomed pedigrees, rescues and wonderful mixed breeds of every shape and size into our family, each with their own unique personality, quirks and needs. Our dogs have never simply been pets - they’ve always been cherished members of the family, treated with love, patience, kindness and plenty of fuss. We’re genuinely mad about dogs and believe they deserve to feel safe, happy, loved and thoroughly spoiled! In fact, we’d probably fight over who gets the cuddles, fuss and playtime! When your dog is with us, they’ll be cared for as one of our own, with lots of love, attention, companionship and plenty of tail-wagging adventures along the way. Pet care will be a big part of our daily routine, with 2–3 adults at home 24/7. One of us doesn’t have any other employment commitments and will be fully dedicated to caring for your dog throughout its stay. Another works part-time from home, so is around for most of the day, while the third is available every evening and at weekends. This means your dog will have plenty of company, attention, interaction, walks, playtime and cuddles, with someone always available to make sure they feel settled, happy and well cared for. Our garden is fully fenced around its boundaries, with all gates kept securely locked. We currently have no pets of our own, meaning your dog will receive our full attention and care. We have a park close by for regular walks, while our secure back garden provides a safe space for playtime, relaxation and toilet breaks. We aim to make every dog feel comfortable, safe and very much at home.
“We can't fault the care Wida showed our dog. We were worried as her dog Peanut was larger but he is very soft, playful and gentle. Our dog went on long walks with plenty of well taken photos which reassured us and they accommodated him into their home without any stress for anyone. He was very chilled when we got him back.”

“Maestro had the best 2 day holiday ever! He was really spoilt by Sarah - and her family! He had lots of walks and a lovely trip out. Sarah sent us lots of messages and photos so we weren't at all concerned about leaving him! He looked really happy in all the photos and came away ready for a good sleep! Thank you, Sarah ! You enabled us to be able to enjoy my birthday trip to the zoo without worrying about Maestro!”

“My big lively Chocolate Lab, Alfie, absolutely loved his stay with Celine, he is quite needy and a bit spoilt, so I was a bit nervous about leaving him for a week. However, Celine and her family made him very welcome and treated him as part of their family. Celine sent me loads of updates - photos, videos and messages and I was very quickly re-assured that he was not only being very well looked after, but was actually enjoying a holiday of his own! I would have no hesitation in recommending Celine , and will definitely be sending Alfie to stay next time we go away.”

“Another brilliant stay for our Bailey. As always Sinead was responsive and the ease of booking, drop off and collection was great. Communication throughout the visit to say how he was getting on with pictures. Bailey loves going to stay and this reflects how great the care he gets is.”

“Michael and Val, are honestly the best people we could have wished for our little cockapoo to spend some time with, they take her for loads of walks, playing ball and enjoying all her little traits. I cannot thank them enough for making our little dog so comfortable will not hesitate to use them again!!”

I am so lucky to have found Ciara! Peroni loved his little stay with her. She invited us round to meet her before hand and I knew then, she was perfect for him. He seemed straight at home! Ciara kept me updated with messages and pictures throughout Peroni’s stay which was lovely. It made the process so much relaxing knowing he was being well looked after, going for walks and having lots of love whilst we were away, it really put my mind at ease. Will certainly be re-booking, thank you so much Ciara from myself and Peroni x

Our frenchie is with Tom sometimes for a few hours, a day or stays with him for a few days. He’s very generous and caring and treats your pet like his own. Mostly he’s super chilled and so she always comes back like a zen master dog 🐶 Tom always sends updates and communicates clearly and openly. Thank you for always taking such good care of Neg 💙

Mavis stayed with Andrea & her daughter for 3 nights. She was really well looked after and went on lovely walks. We were given updates on how she was doing with photos. Mavis is an anxious dog when away from us but she seemed to have a really good time in Andrea’s care, thank you so much. We would have no reservations in using Andrea again in the future 🌟

I have never left Opie with anyone other than 1 family member before and I was really nervous, Alice and Ben are absolutely lovely and fabulous with Opie, Opie loved their dog and was excited to go into their house just from meeting them on a walk. - Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
