“Nia did an amazing job looking after my fur daughter Leona. I was worried about leaving Leona alone for a few days since she can be a bit needy but was very relieved when Nia sent me such detailed notes and pictures. She's super responsive and I really appreciate how flexible she was with having to last minute book another drop in due to family emergency.”

About: Hi! I’m a reliable and caring pet lover based in Chester, currently working as an animal keeper, so caring for animals is a huge part of my everyday life. I have hands-on experience working with a variety of animals and understand the importance of patience, routine, and making pets feel safe and comfortable. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, administering basic care, or simply giving them lots of attention and affection, I’ll treat your pet like my own. I’m confident with different breeds, sizes, and personalities, and I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is in safe hands. Pet care is a natural and rewarding part of my daily routine. As an animal keeper, I’m already dedicated to providing consistent, high-quality care for animals every day. Outside of work, I care for my own pets, making sure they receive all the love, attention, and structure they need to stay happy and healthy. Balancing professional animal care with personal pet sitting keeps my days full of purpose, compassion, and happy paws. When caring for pets in their own home, I focus on keeping them comfortable, secure, and happy in their familiar environment. I follow each pet’s established routine for feeding, walks, playtime, and any special care instructions, ensuring minimal disruption to their normal schedule. I provide plenty of affection, enrichment, and attention while also keeping their space clean and safe. I also stay in close contact with owners, sending regular updates and photos so they can feel confident their pets are well cared for while they’re away.
“Morag was absolutely wonderful looking after our indoor cat, she was really intentional about making sure she learnt about him beforehand and that we were a right fit for eachother, and sent plenty of updates and pics while we were away. Couldn’t recommend more!”

“Heather was fantastic with Raffy. She came to meet him to get to know him and they got along really well. She took lots of pictures and kept us updated. We would highly recommend her to anyone needing a dog sitter.”

“Stephen was AMAZING with my dog. I have a big and boisterous bulldog who can be a handful at times but Stephen was great with him, can’t thank him enough it made leaving him a little easier knowing he had a few drop ins from Stephen and would get plenty of attention. Loved all the updates and pictures too! - thank you so much”

“Lauren has dog sat for our 3 Maltese dogs on numerous occasions and the dogs love her. She is very reliable and professional, very easy to deal with, asked all the right questions and clearly understood our dogs needs. We would definitely recommend her and will be booking her again!”

“Leah was a really great sitter, conscientious, quick to reply to messages and looked after our boys really well. We could relax and enjoy our time away knowing our boys were in great caring hands. Thank you!”

“Thomas accommodated my last minute booking and set my mind at ease leaving my cats for a few days. He is very attentive and the cats loved him! I will always book Thomas when I go away. I couldn't be happier. He is really nice and I came home to happy cats and a clean area!”

“Thanks Ellena for being amazing once again 💚 Our cat absolutely loves you! You're always super thorough with updates. It's great to have someone we trust entirely to look after our girl 💚”

About: Chester based. I've been working with animals for 8 years at first opinion practices as well as specialist referral. I have dog sat for friends (and vet surgeon colleagues!) whilst they are on holiday, and nothing is more important than ensuring the trust that you are given when you are asked to look after their pets. I make sure to treat them as my own. Any rules you have in your home regarding your pet I will continue to enforce in your absence. Your pet's safety and care will always be my top priority. I do work full time, but I am free weekends and most bank holidays with appropriate notice. On Fridays I am available from 5pm if weekend care is needed. I will be sure to implement any rules you have in your home while you are away and will always send picture updates so you can be sure your pet is safe and happy.
About: Hiya, I’m Tarrah and I’ve been caring for animals pretty much my whole life. I grew up surrounded by animals and have spent the last 5 years pet sitting and the last 2 years house sitting for people around the world and in the UK. I genuinely treat pets like family, and I’m big on routines. I’m very intuitive with animals, and I take time to understand each pet as an individual. Different personalities need different care, and I always adjust to what your pet is comfortable with, and needs. You can expect regular updates, photos and videos while you’re away, and the peace of mind that your home and your pet are being looked after properly. I’ve cared for everything from energetic puppies and kittens to senior and end-of-life pets, so I’m comfortable with both high-energy and gentle, slower routines. I have such a special connection with animals that growing up, my nickname was Ace Ventura and Dr Dolittle… which honestly still feels pretty accurate 😅. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet and your home with someone, and I take that responsibility seriously. If you’re looking for someone calm, reliable and genuinely invested in your pet’s wellbeing, I’d love to help. I work fully remotely and run my own business, which means my schedule is completely flexible. I can fit in walks, playtime, feeding, medication and cuddles throughout the day, and I’m always available to respond to updates or messages. Whether your pet prefers structured routines or more relaxed days, I can adapt to their needs and ensure they feel happy and cared for while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priority. Whether I’m in your home or caring for your pet at mine, I make sure the environment is secure, clean and calm. I follow your instructions to the letter, feeding, walks, medication, routines - and pay close attention to each pet’s individual needs and temperament. I also provide regular updates, photos and videos, so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, happy and loved.

About: Over 20 years looking after dogs with 18 months of doggy daycare, boarding and walking experience. I have great reviews and very reliable. Home from home love and care. I specialise in helping military families with their pets whilst loved ones are away. I am also fully insured for your peace of mind This is my full time occupation therefore your fur babies have my full attention, love and care they deserve. Plenty of time for walkies and belly rubs! I live in a very safe area, with woodland and fields within walking distance. My home offers a fenced garden with permanent access, so toilet access is always available.
“Kristine is absolutely lovely and has taken excellent care of our silly shy cat, with regular updates and great communication! I was just away for two weeks and felt that my pet was in excellent hands the whole time :)”

About: My name is Patka (short for Patricia), and animals have been woven into the fabric of my life since childhood. I grew up surrounded by the gentle giants of the dog world—Caucasian Shepherds—and the elegant companionship of Persian cats. When my family moved to the countryside, I discovered my calling: rescuing cats from the bushes and giving them the love they deserved. At one point, our home was a joyful chaos of 7 dogs and 5 cats, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I've had the privilege of caring for breeds of all temperaments and sizes—from the powerful Cane Corso to the delicate Yorkshire Terrier, from playful Poodles and French Bulldogs to loyal Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs. When it comes to cats, I've loved them all—Siamese, Persian, Sphynx—though Maine Coons and Ragdolls hold a special place in my heart. Two years ago, I lost my soul dog, a Maltese rescue who taught me what unconditional love truly means. The ache of that loss reminds me every day how precious our time with our furry companions is, and it's made me even more devoted to ensuring every pet feels safe, loved, and cherished. Currently on sabbatical from my career in marketing and PR, I'm fully available to give your pets the attention they deserve. I'd love nothing more than to take your dogs on adventures through the neighborhood, engage your cats in playful sessions with their favorite toys, and shower them all with the affection and care they need while you're away. Your pets aren't just animals to me—they're family, and I'll treat them as such. Since I'm currently on sabbatical, pet care isn't something I'm trying to squeeze into my routine—it is my routine, and I love it that way. Without the constraints of a traditional work schedule, I have the flexibility to be there whenever your pets need me. My days revolve around the animals in my care. Morning walks when the world is still quiet, midday play sessions when energy is high, evening cuddles when it's time to wind down—I structure my time around what your pets need to thrive. If your dog loves an early morning jog or your cat prefers interactive play at sunset, I'm there for it. I'm also available for last-minute bookings, extended stays, or those times when life throws you a curveball and you need someone reliable on short notice. Whether you need daily visits, overnight care, or someone to simply be present throughout the day, I have the time and dedication to give your pets consistent, unhurried attention. Whether I'm caring for your pets in your home or welcoming them into mine, their safety and comfort are my absolute priorities. In Your Home: I understand that inviting someone into your space requires trust, and I don't take that lightly. I treat your home with the utmost respect—keeping it secure, maintaining your pet's established routines, and following your specific instructions to the letter. I'll send you regular photo and video updates so you can see your furry family members thriving while you're away. Your pets stay in their familiar environment where they feel most secure, surrounded by their own toys, beds, and the comforting scents of home. In My Home: Currently without pets of my own, I can offer your animals my undivided attention in a calm, pet-friendly environment. My space is safe, clean, and adaptable to your pet's needs—whether that means creating cozy nooks for a shy cat or ensuring a secure area for an energetic dog. I maintain the same routines your pets are used to, so the transition feels as seamless as possible. Above all, I believe in transparency and communication. I'm always reachable, and I'll keep you informed about how your pets are doing.

About: Hi! I’m a passionate animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, breeds, and personalities. I’ve owned two dogs since I was 10 years old, and caring for them has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and understanding every dog’s individual needs. One of my dogs, Cassie, is a Romanian rescue who is reactive to both people and other dogs. Working with her has given me extensive experience in handling and training reactive dogs. Over the years, I’ve worked alongside several professional behaviourists, learning positive reinforcement techniques, reading body language, and building confidence in anxious or reactive dogs. This means I’m comfortable caring for dogs who may need a little extra patience and understanding! I’ve also fostered three rescue dogs before they found their forever homes. Fostering has helped me adapt to different temperaments, routines, and training needs, ensuring each dog felt safe, loved, and well cared for during their stay. For the past three years, I’ve regularly house sat and pet sat for people in my local area. Whether it’s feeding, walking, playing, administering routine care, sticking to established routines, or simply providing companionship, I always treat every pet as if they were my own. I genuinely love spending time with furry friends, and nothing makes me happier than seeing them relaxed, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. I’m reliable, responsible, and committed to providing a safe and loving environment for every pet. I understand how important it is for owners to have peace of mind, so I’m happy to provide regular updates, photos, and messages throughout your pet’s stay. I offer pet sitting, house sitting, and dog walking services, tailoring my care to your pet’s individual needs and routine. I have a flexible schedule, allowing me to spend plenty of quality time with your pets to ensure they receive the attention, exercise, and affection they deserve. Whether your dog loves long walks, enrichment games, cuddles on the sofa, or simply having someone nearby, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and cared for. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family members! 🐾 I’m currently working part time in hospitality in Chester, working around 25 hours a week. I’m available whenever as I try and notify work to give me limited hours and shifts in order to be around for the animals. This may include a split shift if your pets are happy to be left alone, where I’ll get a few hours at lunch for a lunch walk and food and then be back to them around dinner time for another walk, feed and a chilled evening! When house sitting and pet sitting in your home, I’ll follow your routine closely to keep your pets happy, safe and relaxed. They’ll be fed, exercised, given lots of love and company, and I keep your home secure, clean and cared for while you're away. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax knowing everything is in safe hands!

About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs in a home environment. I helped train and house-train a cockapoo puppy from a young age and regularly cared for him while my parents were at work, including feeding, walking, playing, and general daily care. He is now 6 years old, and I have continued to spend many days alone with him. Three years ago, we also welcomed a second rescue cockapoo with more nervous and overexcited tendencies, so I have experience managing different personalities and supporting him both individually and alongside our other dog. I am confident with daily routines, walks, feeding, and providing calm, attentive care. I also have experience with cats through friends and family, although I have more experience with dogs. I'm currently a dietetics student at the University of Chester living on Chester campus but I am moving to a 4 bed house from August. I have time for walks and home visits and sometimes have availability on request for duration stays in Chester. I would care for pets in an owner’s home by following their usual routines closely to help the pet feel safe and settled in familiar surroundings. I would prioritise safety by making sure doors, gates, and leads are secure before and during walks, and by being attentive to each pet’s behaviour and needs at all times. I understand the importance of trust when entering someone’s home, so I would treat the property with respect, follow any instructions carefully, and maintain clear communication with the owner. I would provide regular updates if requested, including messages and photos, so they feel reassured while away. As I live on campus accommodation where pets aren’t allowed, I am available for dog walking, drop-in visits, and staying in the client’s home when needed. I am comfortable adapting to each pet’s routine and environment to ensure consistency, comfort, and low stress for them.

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals of all kinds - from rabbits to rats, fish to cats, and a dog or two as well! Having such a variety of pets taught me that every animal, big or small, needs the same things: care, attention, patience, and lots of engagement. Although I haven’t had pets of my own while at university, I’ve consistently lived with cats and dogs that needed looking after, so caring for animals has always been part of my daily life. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, walks, playtime, and making sure pets feel relaxed and safe. What matters most to me is a pet’s quality of life. I make sure every animal I care for feels happy, stimulated, and well looked after while their owner is away. I’m a graduate student with a flexible schedule, and much of my work can be done from home. This allows me to easily plan my day around your pet’s routine and give them plenty of attention and care. I attend class on Tuesdays and every other Monday for no more than six hours, but outside of that I’m generally home and available throughout the week. This means I can be a consistent and attentive companion for your furry friend while you’re away. I follow your pet’s routine closely, whether it’s feeding, walks, or playtime, to keep them happy and comfortable. On walks, I tailor the pace and activity to their energy level while always keeping safety in mind. When house sitting, I treat both your pet and home with care, giving companionship, attention, and a calm environment so your furry friend feels secure while you’re away. Clear communication and reliability are always my top priorities.
About: Hi, I’m Mari and I’m 29 years old. I’ve loved dogs since a young age and I have 10 years of professional experience with all shapes, sizes, ages, temperaments and abilities. I studied for three years at university and attained an animal studies degree. I have worked at a dog boarding kennels/cattery and two dog daycare facilities. I’ve also attained a dog grooming qualification as well as canine first aid. I look forward to hosting your furry friends and meeting you! Any questions please feel free to message. I will be able to provide dog walking, dog sitting in your home and dog/cat drop in visits. I will be available throughout the day. I will treat your pet as though it is my own and will always take excellent care of your pets. I won’t stray too far away from your pets regular routine but happy to walk and explore the city!

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Chester
Laura was fantastic with our boy Pickles. We came back from our trip away to him acting like nothing was different and we had been home the whole time. Laura was very easy to communicate with and kept us thoroughly up to date on all of Pickles visits, with some of the funniest pictures we've seen of Pickles yet! We would highly recommend Laura for your pet sitting needs and will be looking to rebook with her again in the future. Thanks Laura!

I am really happy with Daisy. I knew from meeting her that she was experienced and caring with cats and even gave us some valuable advice when we reported some "odd" behaviour. My cat was well cared for, allowing us to relax on our holiday. We look forward to booking with Daisy again.
Chloe has been absolutely fantastic and I'm sure she's replaced me as Miri's favorite human! It made a real difference to our holiday, having complete peace of mind that Miri was content and well looked after. I really looked forward to the daily updates that Chloe sent me about what Miri was getting up to, how she was eating, and the cuddles she was getting, and sent great photos and videos of their play sessions. It was fantastic to see Miri so content and getting some love. I'd wholeheartedly recommend Chloe, and would not hesitate to ask her to look after Miri again.
Would recommend caitlin to look after your fussy pussys. Caitlin looked after my two very different cats, one shamelessly craving affection, the other very shy over 5 days. Both were well cared for and caitlin kept me up to date with photos of ginge happily sitting on her knee soaking up the attention. Thank you caitlin would happily use you again if you'd have us 😻

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
