“Lauren was amazing from the moment she arrived. Her and our pup Bailey got on like a house on fire. She was extremely engaging and kept us informed of all the events throughout the evening. She provided us with lots of pictures which really kept our minds at rest. We were really happy with the service she provided us and we can’t recommended her enough. We know who we will be booking when Bailey needs a friend to look after her.”

“I couldn’t recommend Tarrah more! We have never left Mackenzie before so it was quite nerve wracking as she is a nervous dog but Tarrah immediately put us at ease, she was easy to talk to and get on with and extremely understanding with Mackenzies nervousness and anxieties. She kept us up to date and informed with photos, messages and voice notes so we knew Mack was well cared for and happy! We got home to a very happy dog and the house was also super clean and tidy. 5 stars isn’t enough, thank you so much Tarrah! I bet Mackenzie can’t wait for us to go away again so she can spend more time with you!”

“This is the first time Morag has sat with Ronnie. Ronnie is quite an anxious dog and Morag understood this and when i picked Ronnie up he was relaxed. Morag was prompt arriving. Thank you Morag we will definitely book again 😊”

“We had Ellena for the first time last weekend for an overnight sit. Her communication was brilliant, lots of photos & videos. River took to her straight away & Ellena got her to take her medicine just fine. We will definitely be re-booking. ”

“Kris came and stayed at our house while we were out of the country for 8 days and took the best care of Monty. She kept us updated each day with messages and I know that Monty had a great time with her! House was immaculate when we returned too!”

I specialise in helping military families with their pets whilst loved ones are away. I am also fully insured for your peace of mind This is my full time occupation therefore your fur babies have my full attention, love and care they deserve. Plenty of time for walkies and belly rubs! About: Hi! I’m a passionate animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, breeds, and personalities. I’ve owned two dogs since I was 10 years old, and caring for them has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and understanding every dog’s individual needs. One of my dogs, Cassie, is a Romanian rescue who is reactive to both people and other dogs. Working with her has given me extensive experience in handling and training reactive dogs. Over the years, I’ve worked alongside several professional behaviourists, learning positive reinforcement techniques, reading body language, and building confidence in anxious or reactive dogs. This means I’m comfortable caring for dogs who may need a little extra patience and understanding! I’ve also fostered three rescue dogs before they found their forever homes. Fostering has helped me adapt to different temperaments, routines, and training needs, ensuring each dog felt safe, loved, and well cared for during their stay. For the past three years, I’ve regularly house sat and pet sat for people in my local area. Whether it’s feeding, walking, playing, administering routine care, sticking to established routines, or simply providing companionship, I always treat every pet as if they were my own. I genuinely love spending time with furry friends, and nothing makes me happier than seeing them relaxed, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. I’m reliable, responsible, and committed to providing a safe and loving environment for every pet. I understand how important it is for owners to have peace of mind, so I’m happy to provide regular updates, photos, and messages throughout your pet’s stay. I offer pet sitting, house sitting, and dog walking services, tailoring my care to your pet’s individual needs and routine. I have a flexible schedule, allowing me to spend plenty of quality time with your pets to ensure they receive the attention, exercise, and affection they deserve. Whether your dog loves long walks, enrichment games, cuddles on the sofa, or simply having someone nearby, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and cared for. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family members! 🐾 I’m currently working part time in hospitality in Chester, working around 25 hours a week. I’m available whenever as I try and notify work to give me limited hours and shifts in order to be around for the animals. This may include a split shift if your pets are happy to be left alone, where I’ll get a few hours at lunch for a lunch walk and food and then be back to them around dinner time for another walk, feed and a chilled evening! When house sitting and pet sitting in your home, I’ll follow your routine closely to keep your pets happy, safe and relaxed. They’ll be fed, exercised, given lots of love and company, and I keep your home secure, clean and cared for while you're away. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax knowing everything is in safe hands!
“Poppy came to look after our dog Gabriel for the day so we could visit Chester Zoo. She came to meet Gabriel a couple of days before the actual date she was going to dog sit. Gabriel and Archie our elderly cat gave their approval and both made themselves at home with Poppy. Archie climbed up on her knee and Gabriel cuddled next to her. She was very friendly and we felt confident that she would look after our boys well. On the actual day she arrived very promptly giving us plenty of time to discuss any final instructions. When we returned 7 hours later Gabriel seemed very happy and content. We would happily book Poppy again if we needed a dog sitter again when we were in the Chester area.”

“Lauren was fabulous making a fuss of both the boys and also managing the senior dogs needs around medication and support, we were totally reassured by her and her partner Will looking after our boys - great sitter would use again”
“This was our second booking with Georgia, and she was every bit as brilliant as before. Unfortunately, our dog Cass became sickly halfway through, which was a bit of a worry getting the news, but Georgia took it in her stride and dealt with it calmly and sensitively by taking her to the vet and even settling the bill for us! She kept in touch with us with regular photos and updates, so we always knew how things were going. Also worth mentioning that our flight home was severely delayed, so Georgia stayed with Cass over the time she was due to finish and welcomed us home with a hot cup of tea in the early hours of the morning. She even made sure there was enough bread and milk for us! Suffice it to say, she went over and above for us, and so we can't express our gratitude enough. First class sitter and our forever 'go-to' person for future holidays.”

About: I have had 3 boxer dogs, all in which towards their old age I took great care of them including medication. I now have a cocker spaniel who has an ear problem so I am used to having to put medicated cream in his ears. I have also for the past year looked after a Jack Russel and a German shepherd. For these dogs I have house sat so I have done all the feeding and walking etc. I have also had experience cat sitting on 2 different occasions, so this opened me up to how to deal with litter trays, different dietary requirements and medication. These experiences have enabled me with many different opportunities to look after dogs and cats of all sizes! I am a qualified supply teacher in primary schools, which means I have a very flexible schedule and also a lot of free time during half terms! Living in Chester means I have easy access to many different bus/train routes so I am very easy accessible. I have experience with all different breeds and ages so I am happy to be looking after animals who need medication, I can also safely put the dogs in their crate, also senior dogs if there is special needs that they need such as aid getting onto their bed. I have house sat on many occasions and never had any problems I always keep in contact with the Owner, happy to send lots of pictures so they are kept updated and if keys are involved always made sure I follow the owners instructions!
“Hannah was brilliant with our Ellie! She looked after Ellie in our home for three days and kept us updated throughout her stay with messages and photos. She even took Ellie out for a walk, something we’ve never had anyone else do before and we’re so grateful for how well she managed her. We’ve already booked Hannah for another pet sit and will definitely be using her dog walking services too. Thank you, Hannah!”

“Monte had another great day with Stephen, and barely looked at me when I left the house! Stephen sent regular updates and I came back to a very happy dog. I would definitely recommend Stephen.”

Devany is a pleasure to have minding our dog. Brolly is a nervous guy and took to Devany straight away. She is calm and relaxed which he obviously sensed, putting him at ease. We knew we could trust Devany with Brolly and our home straight away. Would definitely recommend

Booked Tarrah a couple of tkmes to look after our 'teenage' pup. As always Tarrah was amazing! Took such good care of him. Worked on his training, plenty of walks and play, lots of suggestions of things to help him ongoing too. Kept us super informed of how he was getting on, with pics, videos and voice notes. Thanks soooo much again Tarrah!

Emma housesat our dogs for 5 days/ 4 nights. She was very professional from start to finish. She was prompt with her arrival to them and stayed until we asked her to. She left the house in immaculate condition (evening emptying all the bins which was going above and beyond) She sent regular updates with pictures too. Thanks Emma and we will be using you again!

Caitlin was fantastic Pet Sitting in our own home for our 2 dogs, very professional from the very beginning. Felt really comfortable leaving her in our home, she was amazing with the dogs and kept us in touch with regular updates and left the house immaculate. Would highly recommend and definitely use again

Kristine was absolutely amazing with our dogs! She was honest, punctual, and so respectful throughout the entire stay. She kept us updated with regular messages and photos about their walks, meals, and how they were doing, which gave us total peace of mind. She was very clear and straightforward in letting us know if she ever needed to leave the dogs and for how long, and she was also super flexible with everything. What really stood out was how sweet and caring she was—it never felt like she was just “watching” them. She truly enjoyed spending time with our pups and made sure to build a bond with them. Even our older dog, who is usually quite stressed, was so calm and comfortable with her. Kristine also took careful notes about our instructions, and she left the house spotless when we returned. She’s organized, thoughtful, and a total sweetheart. We couldn’t recommend her more and would be so happy to have her take care of our dogs again! She is a superstar honestly ⭐️

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Chester walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chester choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
