“Lauren was amazing from the moment she arrived. Her and our pup Bailey got on like a house on fire. She was extremely engaging and kept us informed of all the events throughout the evening. She provided us with lots of pictures which really kept our minds at rest. We were really happy with the service she provided us and we can’t recommended her enough. We know who we will be booking when Bailey needs a friend to look after her.”

“I couldn’t recommend Tarrah more! We have never left Mackenzie before so it was quite nerve wracking as she is a nervous dog but Tarrah immediately put us at ease, she was easy to talk to and get on with and extremely understanding with Mackenzies nervousness and anxieties. She kept us up to date and informed with photos, messages and voice notes so we knew Mack was well cared for and happy! We got home to a very happy dog and the house was also super clean and tidy. 5 stars isn’t enough, thank you so much Tarrah! I bet Mackenzie can’t wait for us to go away again so she can spend more time with you!”

“Brilliant house sitter for our doggy. They bonded really well and were sent constant varied photos which we appreciated as we always miss our dog. Very reliable and would highly recommend and book again!!”

“Just want to come on here and say how great Dev was with Millie . She has kept us informed of how Millie was doing and all the fun and walks the 2 of them had . I will definitely book Dev again without any doubt as she was great with my Millie . And thanks so much for the clean house .”

“Heather was absolutely brilliant with the boys all weekend. She kept us regularly informed, put our minds at ease and allowed us to relax whilst away. One of our dogs is 15 1/2 and she showed him such care and gentle patience which was evident from the updates but didn’t neglect the energy the younger dog needed to use up - a fabulous dog sitter”

“Becky was an amazing sitter, we needed to book last minute and she was brilliant at firing in a meet and greet and being able to fit us in at short notice. We got daily updates and the house was spotless when we got home. We think our dog wants us to go away again just so he can have Becky back! We look forward to booking Becky again soon. Thank you so much for taking such good care of Tsar and the house”

“Morag was the perfect pet house sitter. She proved to be totally reliable, conscientious and caring. My dog Bertie was happy and content having his usual walks and home routine. As for looking after the house, it felt like I’d never been away as it was all left exactly as I’d left it for Morag. Big thankyou and I will but also definitely recommend Morag’s services and I’ve already shared Rover.com with friends.”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs in a home environment. I helped train and house-train a cockapoo puppy from a young age and regularly cared for him while my parents were at work, including feeding, walking, playing, and general daily care. He is now 6 years old, and I have continued to spend many days alone with him. Three years ago, we also welcomed a second rescue cockapoo with more nervous and overexcited tendencies, so I have experience managing different personalities and supporting him both individually and alongside our other dog. I am confident with daily routines, walks, feeding, and providing calm, attentive care. I also have experience with cats through friends and family, although I have more experience with dogs. I'm currently a dietetics student at the University of Chester living on Chester campus but I am moving to a 4 bed house from August. I have time for walks and home visits and sometimes have availability on request for duration stays in Chester. I would care for pets in an owner’s home by following their usual routines closely to help the pet feel safe and settled in familiar surroundings. I would prioritise safety by making sure doors, gates, and leads are secure before and during walks, and by being attentive to each pet’s behaviour and needs at all times. I understand the importance of trust when entering someone’s home, so I would treat the property with respect, follow any instructions carefully, and maintain clear communication with the owner. I would provide regular updates if requested, including messages and photos, so they feel reassured while away. As I live on campus accommodation where pets aren’t allowed, I am available for dog walking, drop-in visits, and staying in the client’s home when needed. I am comfortable adapting to each pet’s routine and environment to ensure consistency, comfort, and low stress for them.

About: I have had 3 boxer dogs, all in which towards their old age I took great care of them including medication. I now have a cocker spaniel who has an ear problem so I am used to having to put medicated cream in his ears. I have also for the past year looked after a Jack Russel and a German shepherd. For these dogs I have house sat so I have done all the feeding and walking etc. I have also had experience cat sitting on 2 different occasions, so this opened me up to how to deal with litter trays, different dietary requirements and medication. These experiences have enabled me with many different opportunities to look after dogs and cats of all sizes! I am a qualified supply teacher in primary schools, which means I have a very flexible schedule and also a lot of free time during half terms! Living in Chester means I have easy access to many different bus/train routes so I am very easy accessible. I have experience with all different breeds and ages so I am happy to be looking after animals who need medication, I can also safely put the dogs in their crate, also senior dogs if there is special needs that they need such as aid getting onto their bed. I have house sat on many occasions and never had any problems I always keep in contact with the Owner, happy to send lots of pictures so they are kept updated and if keys are involved always made sure I follow the owners instructions!
“Poppy came to look after our dog Gabriel for the day so we could visit Chester Zoo. She came to meet Gabriel a couple of days before the actual date she was going to dog sit. Gabriel and Archie our elderly cat gave their approval and both made themselves at home with Poppy. Archie climbed up on her knee and Gabriel cuddled next to her. She was very friendly and we felt confident that she would look after our boys well. On the actual day she arrived very promptly giving us plenty of time to discuss any final instructions. When we returned 7 hours later Gabriel seemed very happy and content. We would happily book Poppy again if we needed a dog sitter again when we were in the Chester area.”

“Evie was amazing! She replied and actioned on very short notice. Sending through photos and updates regularly which was great to see. She was the perfect sitter and was very flexible and accommodating for the needs of my dog. I Would 100% recommend to anyone.”

About: My name is Patka (short for Patricia), and animals have been woven into the fabric of my life since childhood. Unfortunately, I had very bad experience with one of the pet owners recently, which reflects my rating. You can find more about the incident in one of my latest reviews. Every coin has two sides. I grew up in Prague surrounded by the gentle giants of the dog world—Caucasian Shepherds—and the elegant companionship of Persian cats. When my family moved to the countryside, I discovered my calling: rescuing cats from the bushes and giving them the love they deserved. At one point, our home was a joyful chaos of 7 dogs and 5 cats, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I've had the privilege of caring for breeds of all temperaments and sizes—from the powerful Cane Corso to the delicate Yorkshire Terrier, from playful Poodles and French Bulldogs to loyal Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs. When it comes to cats, I've loved them all—Siamese, Persian, Sphynx—though Maine Coons and Ragdolls hold a special place in my heart. Two years ago, I lost my soul dog, a Maltese rescue who taught me what unconditional love truly means. The ache of that loss reminds me every day how precious our time with our furry companions is, and it's made me even more devoted to ensuring every pet feels safe, loved, and cherished. Currently on sabbatical from my career in marketing and PR, I'm fully available to give your pets the attention they deserve. I'd love nothing more than to take your dogs on adventures through the neighborhood, engage your cats in playful sessions with their favorite toys, and shower them all with the affection and care they need while you're away. Your pets aren't just animals to me—they're family, and I'll treat them as such. Since I'm currently on sabbatical, pet care isn't something I'm trying to squeeze into my routine—it is my routine, and I love it that way. Without the constraints of a traditional work schedule, I have the flexibility to be there whenever your pets need me. My days revolve around the animals in my care. Morning walks when the world is still quiet, midday play sessions when energy is high, evening cuddles when it's time to wind down—I structure my time around what your pets need to thrive. If your dog loves an early morning jog or your cat prefers interactive play at sunset, I'm there for it. I'm also available for last-minute bookings, extended stays, or those times when life throws you a curveball and you need someone reliable on short notice. Whether you need daily visits, overnight care, or someone to simply be present throughout the day, I have the time and dedication to give your pets consistent, unhurried attention. Whether I'm caring for your pets in your home or welcoming them into mine, their safety and comfort are my absolute priorities. In Your Home: I understand that inviting someone into your space requires trust, and I don't take that lightly. I treat your home with the utmost respect—keeping it secure, maintaining your pet's established routines, and following your specific instructions to the letter. I'll send you regular photo and video updates so you can see your furry family members thriving while you're away. Your pets stay in their familiar environment where they feel most secure, surrounded by their own toys, beds, and the comforting scents of home. In My Home: Currently without pets of my own, I can offer your animals my undivided attention in a calm, pet-friendly environment. My space is safe, clean, and adaptable to your pet's needs—whether that means creating cozy nooks for a shy cat or ensuring a secure area for an energetic dog. I maintain the same routines your pets are used to, so the transition feels as seamless as possible. Above all, I believe in transparency and communication. I'm always reachable, and I'll keep you informed about how your pets are doing.
“Louise was available at short notice to look after our Lab, Maple, and she warmed to her immediately. She kept us up to date with messages, pics and videos which was lovely. We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Louise to others on Rover!”

“Cerys was fantastic, this is the first time we have had someone in house look after our two dogs and she was amazing. We arranged to meet first so she could meet herbie and Blu who both loved her. She kept us informed throughout our break letting us know how they were along with pictures of them enjoying walks together. We would highly recommend Cerys who was easy to deal with and fantastic with our two boys! Thank you Cerys!”

About: We have always been huge animal lovers, having grown up with both cats and dogs in our homes. Animals have always been a big part of our lives, so caring for them feels completely natural to us. We have always been huge animal lovers, having grown up with both cats and dogs in our homes. Animals have always been a big part of our lives, so caring for them feels completely natural to us. I work in a primary school as a bursar, which means I have great availability during school holidays and weekends & I can also work from home. My partner works different shifts patters often with weekdays off and flexibility meaning we can fit Pet care easily into our routine, and we can plan my days around walks, visits, feeding times, and playtime so your pets always get the time and attention they deserve. Happy to have two dogs from the same home.

Emma housesat our dogs for 5 days/ 4 nights. She was very professional from start to finish. She was prompt with her arrival to them and stayed until we asked her to. She left the house in immaculate condition (evening emptying all the bins which was going above and beyond) She sent regular updates with pictures too. Thanks Emma and we will be using you again!

Caitlin was fantastic Pet Sitting in our own home for our 2 dogs, very professional from the very beginning. Felt really comfortable leaving her in our home, she was amazing with the dogs and kept us in touch with regular updates and left the house immaculate. Would highly recommend and definitely use again

Kristine was absolutely amazing with our dogs! She was honest, punctual, and so respectful throughout the entire stay. She kept us updated with regular messages and photos about their walks, meals, and how they were doing, which gave us total peace of mind. She was very clear and straightforward in letting us know if she ever needed to leave the dogs and for how long, and she was also super flexible with everything. What really stood out was how sweet and caring she was—it never felt like she was just “watching” them. She truly enjoyed spending time with our pups and made sure to build a bond with them. Even our older dog, who is usually quite stressed, was so calm and comfortable with her. Kristine also took careful notes about our instructions, and she left the house spotless when we returned. She’s organized, thoughtful, and a total sweetheart. We couldn’t recommend her more and would be so happy to have her take care of our dogs again! She is a superstar honestly ⭐️
