We have never left Mackenzie before so it was quite nerve wracking as she is a nervous dog but Tarrah immediately put us at ease, she was easy to talk to and get on with and extremely understanding with Mackenzies nervousness and anxieties. She kept us up to date and informed with photos, messages and voice notes so we knew Mack was well cared for and happy! About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs in a home environment. I helped train and house-train a cockapoo puppy from a young age and regularly cared for him while my parents were at work, including feeding, walking, playing, and general daily care. He is now 6 years old, and I have continued to spend many days alone with him. Three years ago, we also welcomed a second rescue cockapoo with more nervous and overexcited tendencies, so I have experience managing different personalities and supporting him both individually and alongside our other dog. I am confident with daily routines, walks, feeding, and providing calm, attentive care. I also have experience with cats through friends and family, although I have more experience with dogs. I'm currently a dietetics student at the University of Chester living on Chester campus but I am moving to a 4 bed house from August. I have time for walks and home visits and sometimes have availability on request for duration stays in Chester. I would care for pets in an owner’s home by following their usual routines closely to help the pet feel safe and settled in familiar surroundings. I would prioritise safety by making sure doors, gates, and leads are secure before and during walks, and by being attentive to each pet’s behaviour and needs at all times. I understand the importance of trust when entering someone’s home, so I would treat the property with respect, follow any instructions carefully, and maintain clear communication with the owner. I would provide regular updates if requested, including messages and photos, so they feel reassured while away. As I live on campus accommodation where pets aren’t allowed, I am available for dog walking, drop-in visits, and staying in the client’s home when needed. I am comfortable adapting to each pet’s routine and environment to ensure consistency, comfort, and low stress for them.

About: I have had 3 boxer dogs, all in which towards their old age I took great care of them including medication. I now have a cocker spaniel who has an ear problem so I am used to having to put medicated cream in his ears. I have also for the past year looked after a Jack Russel and a German shepherd. For these dogs I have house sat so I have done all the feeding and walking etc. I have also had experience cat sitting on 2 different occasions, so this opened me up to how to deal with litter trays, different dietary requirements and medication. These experiences have enabled me with many different opportunities to look after dogs and cats of all sizes! I am a qualified supply teacher in primary schools, which means I have a very flexible schedule and also a lot of free time during half terms! Living in Chester means I have easy access to many different bus/train routes so I am very easy accessible. I have experience with all different breeds and ages so I am happy to be looking after animals who need medication, I can also safely put the dogs in their crate, also senior dogs if there is special needs that they need such as aid getting onto their bed. I have house sat on many occasions and never had any problems I always keep in contact with the Owner, happy to send lots of pictures so they are kept updated and if keys are involved always made sure I follow the owners instructions!

“Poppy came to look after our dog Gabriel for the day so we could visit Chester Zoo. She came to meet Gabriel a couple of days before the actual date she was going to dog sit. Gabriel and Archie our elderly cat gave their approval and both made themselves at home with Poppy. Archie climbed up on her knee and Gabriel cuddled next to her. She was very friendly and we felt confident that she would look after our boys well. On the actual day she arrived very promptly giving us plenty of time to discuss any final instructions. When we returned 7 hours later Gabriel seemed very happy and content. We would happily book Poppy again if we needed a dog sitter again when we were in the Chester area.”
