“Yan was great, she came over and met Dottie before the booking. She spent the day at our house while we were out and take great care of Dottie with a little walk and some cuddles! Would definitely recommend her and we will book her again.”

About: I’ve had dogs in my house since I was 10 and I can’t picture my life without them! I have witnessed them through all stages of life and think they are honestly gods greatest gifts. I’ve currently just graduated uni so I have all the free time in the world while I job hunt and would love to make the most of it. I love to spend quality time with dogs and make sure they feel safe and comfortable with me. I am confident in looking after them and good at meeting their needs as well as reassuring owners that they are in good hands.
“Rob was a fantastic house and pet sitter, best I've had in a long while! He was patient and compassionate with my elderly dog, engaging and fun with the younger pair and always had time to give the cats a fuss. He looked after the house as well as the pets and left it clean and tidy. Would definitely use Rob again!!”

“India was fantastic! She communicated with us brilliantly, from making arrangements to for a meet and greet to sending us multiple daily photos and updates of what Peanut was up to while we were away. We felt our dog and our home was in really safe hands the whole time we were away, Peanut loved her and we won’t hesitate to book her again.”

“Always use Nicola, this was the first time overnight and will not be the last. Feel happy in the knowledge that we were getting a first class service as always. Ruby is always so happy to see Nicola and you can tell she has had 5 star care. Thank you again for letting us get away and knowing are baby is in safe hands in her own home as well”
“Outstanding!! That is the only word to describe the excellent service Natalie provides. I left my 5 year old Weimaraner Jerry for the 1st time for a family holiday with Natalie house sitting. I was nervous about leaving her but I needn’t have worried. Throughout our trip Natalie kept me up to date with messages, photos and videos of Jerry. Jerry had plenty of walks in her favourite places, play and cuddles. In fact I’m not sure she entirely missed us due to the high level of care and attention Natalie gave her. Even when snow and ice conditions meant it was impossible for Jerry to be walked, Natalie made sure Jerry had plenty to keep her happy and provided brain stimulation games and toys to keep her occupied and completely content. I really do feel like Natalie goes above and beyond to care. We returned home to a very calm and content dog thanks to Natalie. I even think Natalie may have provided an additional bit of lead training as Jerrys lead pulling has improved too. I will definitely be using Natalie’s service again and would highly recommend anyone to do the same.”

“Aww Amy was amazing all round - such a nice girl and my dogs absolutely loved her. Felt so at ease leaving them with her for the weekend - would love to have her mind them again soon 😍”

“Lilly was brilliant. She visited before the sit to meet the dogs and to have a chat. She arrived on time. Left the house immaculate and followed the dogs routine. Definitely recommend”

“Excellent communication, super friendly and willing to meet and go through things in advance. Karen was so lovely with our pets, one of them can be a bit nervous and timid, but he clearly loved Karen to bits and we don't hesitate to book her again. She took such great care of our home and all our furry, feathered and fluffy family members!”

“This is the 5th time Dana has looked after our 3 dogs and 1 cat. I can honestly say that Dana is just brilliant. We have so many perfect videos and pictures of them all having a fantastic time. Dana even took the time to print some pictures off which is so special. It is wonderfully reassuring to see them eating their dinner and behaving exactly as they would with us. So much so we have our first fortnight away coming up...something we have not been able to do as I was worried about leaving my furry family. Not anymore. Thank you Dana 😊”

“Molly was so calm and relaxed throughout and kept us reassured that Ramsay was on his best behaviour. Clearly has experience with bigger dogs which was helpful with our big boisterous puppy. Definitely will book again!”

About: I’ve loved dogs from an early age. I’ve taken care of my own dog and friends dogs over the years when they’ve gone on holiday or even whilst they’ve been at work! After my own dog passed last year, I’ve missed the fun days together. My friends suggested I get on rover and treat some more cuties like royalty! I prefer taking care of smaller dogs no bigger than a King Charles Spaniel but depending on the temperament of the dog I’m happy to hang with any! I work as a freelance musician so have a flexible schedule day to day and happy to work around you! I can make frequent visits throughout the day or can visit for numerous hours. Including evening care and early morning care. Preferably I would care for your pet in your home, but with enough notice can try and arrange home care from my house! (Size & breed dependent)

About: I’ve always had a huge love for animals and have lots of hands-on experience caring for pets. I currently work in a dog daycare environment, where I care for dogs of all different breeds, sizes, ages and personalities, making sure they are happy, safe and well looked after. I’m also comfortable caring for cats due to having 4 of my own! And understand that they all have their own personalities, routines and individual needs. Whether your pet is energetic and loves attention, a little nervous and needs time to warm up, or prefers their own space, I’m happy to work at their pace. I’m reliable, patient and genuinely care about the animals I look after. I can provide walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, medication if needed and plenty of company while you’re away. Most importantly, I’ll treat your pets as if they were my own and make sure they feel safe, comfortable and loved while you’re not there. 🐶🐱❤️ I’m currently not working, so I have plenty of time and flexibility to dedicate to pet care. I’m available throughout the week and at weekends for walks, drop-in visits, house sitting and boarding. I’m happy to work around your pet’s normal routine and make sure they receive plenty of attention, care and companionship while you’re away! I understand how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pets in someone else’s care. I’ll always follow your instructions and keep to their normal routine, including feeding, exercise, playtime, medication and any specific needs they may have. I’m responsible, patient and caring, and I’ll always take the time to make every pet feel safe, comfortable and loved in my care. 🐶🐱
“Joanne came to my house to meet my dogs before we finalised our booking and we had a lovely chat. My bouncy pups settled quickly while she was here which was a good sign! Joanne was really accommodating when I requested a couple of changes to our booking. Although nervous leaving the dogs initially, I was updated daily on how they were doing. When we collected them it was heartwarming to see them run back to Joanne while excitedly greeting us. Thanks again”

Yan was great! Our pets looked so happy, calm, and playful in all the great photo updates we received from Yan. Yan took wonderful care of our pets and our home and had excellent communication daily to put our minds at ease on our holiday. We are so pleased and we highly recommend Yan! Our pets will be looking forward to seeing Yan again 😻🐶

Couldn’t recommend Natalie anymore, literally covered with 12 hours notice and saved the day. Come for an intial introduction with Mimi and they got on from the off. Communication was brilliant throughout the stay with photo updates. Really managed to bond with the little time and managed to even get cuddles (rare from a chow). - house was left in perfect condition. Couldn’t recommend more and will 100% be using again.
Bei Bei was absolutely brilliant with my cockapoo Reggie She was friendly , happy , lovely , kind and treated Reggie as I do She sent lots of photos and videos of her and Jack out walking Reggie , playing and cuddling him , which put my mind at rest With it being Christmas, I was so grateful I found such a reliable friendly person I would definitely book Bei Bei again My Reggie was very quiet after we dropped Bei Bei and Jack off at the train station , he really was missing them both They both are a credit to your company Lesley & Reggie 🐾

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Knowsley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
