About: I've taken care of dogs since I was young, from talking care of my uncles over 6" Great Dane when he's on holidays to taking care of my own Yorkie who's got an attitude of a grumpy teenager. Ive walked, bathed, trained all different breeds of dogs and have a lot of patience to work with every dog with every personality! I'm a university student who is in Tuesday to Thursday afternoons. I have a long weekend that's open for walks and drop ins, I'm an early riser! I care for a 8 year old and 2 year old Yorkshire terrier at home along with a falcon. my older dog is reactive and requires more quieter walks so I know how to make sure reactive dogs are still enjoying their walks.

Dana is incredible, we can't say enough to give her the credit she deserves. Peggy and Bob had just moved to the UK all the way from Canada and only had a few days to settle in to a new home after a long journey. Dana made them feel so comfortable while we were away for a wedding and had such great communication with us through the stay. She kept us updated on how they were doing and sent us lots of pics and videos which was so sweet and let us now they were in loving hands and we could relax and enjoy the wedding. Dana surpassed every aspect you could want from a pet sitter and we highly recommend her services to everyone on here. We will definitely be looking to book her services again. On top of everything great that Dana did for us and our pets she even left us an adorable Polaroid picture of Bob and Peggy that we will cherish forever. Thank you so much Dana. Bob and Peggy say they love you and can't wait to see you again.

I am unemployed so have a lot of time to spare! I’m very flexible! I can work around your schedule to make a plan for your fur baby to stay! I live in a lovely cosy home with a fenced back garden, living on a very quiet road one minute walk to the woods. Very Peaceful place to live! I live close by to many other walks, fields and parks. I would say Rocco is alot of work and needs the attention and long walks and Millie handled it really well. She sent updates with pictures and videos every day which made me feel at ease. Rocco looked so content with Millie and I was impressed with one big walk she took him on which he would of loved. When we came home he was all happy and we could tell he had been well looked after. Thank you Millie for looking after our boy Rocco. We would highly recommend Millie for any dog lovers out there who need someone with high energy dog experience, pet care and long walks!

About: Having grown up around dogs of all sizes, spending time with pets is one of my greatest hobbies. I specifically have experience around both senior dogs and puppies having cared for my elderly pugs until they passed on, and then my boxer puppy who has since grown up. I can guarantee your dog a safe, caring experience (boarding or walks), with as frequent photo updates as you require. My profile picture is myself and Dug, my fiancé's eldest chihuahua (14yo). We currently don’t have any pets living here either, so hopefully the only concern you may have is that your dog may not want to leave! Happy to work around your dog’s walking, playtime, and behavioural needs. My schedule is extremely flexible closer to the weekends, and every weekday I can dedicate evenings for walks. I can pick up anywhere in the Merseyside & West Lancashire area, which has a marvellous countryside full of walks to be had. The house is situated in a cul de sac away from busy roads, while having a large fenced garden. The town itself is both quiet and safe, resulting in a great environment for your dog to be walked in. For boarding, the house is extremely well laid out and minimally decorated to allow for safe exploration. Your pet can happily jump onto our furniture and sleep on the bed if you would prefer. Dogs can be easily caged if necessary.

About: Hi, I’m Laura…I live with my partner Chris and we both have lots of experience with dogs, from owning to minding. We currently don’t have a dog and don’t plan to get another as we like to travel…but we miss dog energy and choose to borrow to fill the gap! I work from home Monday-Friday and my partner is home all weekend so we have plenty of time and love to give to your pooch. We live near Crosby beach and Rimrose valley, as well as many parks and we love getting out into nature. We’re new to rover so don’t have many reviews just yet but have had plenty of great reviews from people we’ve been minding for privately for anyone who needs one. We’re both very confident with dogs and want you to feel assured they’d be in great care. We’re happy to do a meet and greet before hand to get to know us, and of course your dog. We’re totally aware that a dog is someone’s baby and want to assure anyone who chooses us that they’ll be in great hands. I look forward to meeting you and your pooch soon! I work from home Monday to Friday and will sometimes have clients I need to see of a weekend. My partner works Monday-Friday and is home all weekend so all days are covered We live in a 3 bedroom house that your dog is free to roam…with a walled yard. We live near Crosby beach, Rimrose Valley and plenty of parks

Aww Ellen was great. We have never left our Dobermann puppy and we’re very anxious. She gave us regular updates. Neo responded to her well and enjoyed her company. She went above and beyond and made us feel at ease leaving him.

Lauren was wonderful with Maggie. She kept in touch enough that I was able to relax knowing all was well but not feel inundated with messages. She was competent and reliable - Maggie took to her straight away and I would definitely recommend her.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred West Lancashire walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Lancashire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
