“My dogs new bestie!!! This was the first time we have left Bear with a sitter and I was really anxious but Becca put all of that anxiety at ease! We did end up being later back home and Becca was so understanding. I will definitely be using Becca again as my dog loves her and she is so lovely!”

About: I've been caring for dogs for nearly 4 years, and I really enjoy it! I have experience with beagles (anyone who's owned one understands they're a bit unique, which makes it fun) and also with dogs that get anxious when left alone. I love helping them feel safe and loved. I'm currently enjoying my summer break as a university student, which means I have plenty of free time most days, including weekends and evenings. I have experience caring for multiple dogs, including larger breeds that require extra attention. I am DBS-checked, ensuring your dog(s) will be in safe and responsible hands. You can trust that I will give your pets the dedicated care and attention they deserve, whether it's daily walks, playtime, or administering any special care they might need.

“Milo had a lovely overnight stay with Debbie whilst she stayed in our home with him. He is so well looked after and spoilt in her care a trip to the beach he thoroughly enjoyed her company. Debbie is such a great person to leave your pets with the best! Thanks as always.”

“Our dog loves Matthew. They bonded straight away. He met all our dog’s needs and provided me and my husband with peace of mind that he was being well cared for. We would recommend Matthew to anyone. Thank you Matthew!”

“Very pleased with Tracy looking after Russet. Tracy always replied promptly to communications and looked after Russet and the house well. Would request Tracy again if she is agreeable.”

About: I've had dogs, cats and other small fury animals ever since I've been little. I've also had friends and family members with pets that I have loved to be around and take care of. I am super passionate about animals and have looked after many neighbours dogs over the years too, either in my own home, or at theirs. I'm also vegan because I am so passionate about the welfare of all animals. I don't currently have any responsibilities such as children or a partner and I work for myself so I'm flexible and have the freedom to travel. My best friend is also a dog trainer, so I'm always picking up tips and helpful information about dogs. I currently have a chihuahua who is 7 years old who I adore. She lives with my mum and I, so she isn't my sole responsibility. I'm a very calm and grounded person and I often find that dogs and cats naturally gravitate towards my energy and loving nature. I work for myself, so my schedule is super flexible and I can work from anywhere in the world. Whether this is weekdays or weekends, I'm open to all. I'm able to follow the instructions to how you would like your pet to be cared for, whether this I can be to give you reassurance and peace of mind. I can also send daily updates if needed/preferred.

“Florence has been AMAZING with our nervous doggo, Nina. Really patient, understanding, considerate and accommodating to all of us. She made brilliant progress with Nina in a short time, and clearly has a great connection with animals. Very grateful to have come across Florence on here :)”

“Camilla looked after Meg, my West Highland Terrier and my home wonderfully. She was very caring and I could tell when I returned home how they had bonded together. It was the first time I had used a sitter in my home but I would have no reservations in employing Camilla again. A big “Thank you”, Camilla from Sue and Meg.”

About: I have had years of experience helping family and friends out with their pets. I would always jump at the chance to look after any dogs & cats if the opportunity was given to me. Weekends, I’m free all day and night to take care of your pets, go for walks, check ins or even over night stays within your homes. I’m currently working full time, however I’m flexible to work within the evenings Monday- Friday to do evening walks or check ins or over night stays. During walks I respect the owners wishes, so I'm happy to keep them on lead if someone isn't confident about them being let off, and if I do let dogs off it's only in an open but secure park / grass area. When taking care of your loving pets, I will always take lots of pictures and videos to give owners daily updates on how they're settling in and what they might have been up to that day - Dogs they've been socialising with, walks they've had and any other updates in general.

About: taken care of four dogs of different ages, many shelter cats and a lil pup. it’s time to bring my voluntary work to rover! I am currently fully flexible. I also love animals so you can be sure your pets will be in very loving hands!
About: I have been taking care of pets since 8 years now. Along with my husband, I moved countries, leaving our pets ( 2 dogs and 2 cats) behind with our loving family who currently take care of them! Making use of all this built up love and longing for our fur babies till we meet them again! x I am currently on mat leave and husband works 4 days which gives us plenty of time to board according to our availability and your needs. We have a fenced garden outside but the cats will be mostly inside our house which is secure and with me at home at all times, safety isn’t a problem.

About: - I have my own puppy, currently nearly 6 months old. - I care for my parents and neighbours dogs when needed. - Experience working with rescues, volunteering at local rescues since 12. - I worked in a zoo with all kinds of animals, lemurs and cotton top tamarins were my favourite. - Animal welfare is my priority. - I have a big fenced garden if required. - I do not have children, my home is me, my partner and my animals. - I don’t mind reactive/challenging animals. I currently work nights shifts on a consistent pattern of 3 shifts on, 3 shifts off. My boyfriend is home at night, most of the time there is only 1 hour alone. On my days off I enjoy exploring and walking. I have a set routine with my own animals to ensure their welfare needs are always met. About: I have had and cared for 8 dogs over the years and have also spent a lot of time looking after my neighbours’ and friends’ dogs. This has given me experience with dogs of different breeds, ages, and personalities. I enjoy teaching dogs simple tricks, playing with them, taking them on walks, and making sure they feel happy and comfortable. I always treat every dog as if they were my own and make their safety and wellbeing my top priority. As a school leaver, I have plenty of free time and a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate time to looking after pets. I love being outdoors and walking is one of my main hobbies, so taking dogs on regular walks fits perfectly into my daily routine. I enjoy spending time with animals and can provide them with lots of attention, exercise, playtime, and care throughout the week. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved, whether they are in my home or their owner’s home. I stick to their usual routine for feeding, walks, playtime, and any special instructions provided by the owner. I give them plenty of attention and affection, make sure they get enough exercise, and keep their environment clean and secure. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners can have peace of mind while they are away.

“Georgia was amazing with housesitting our boy. She met Tyson before she sitted him so she could ask any questions and we could go through a few things to make her stay run as smooth as possible. Georgia sent regular pupdates and made me feel calm about leaving him, which I usually find very difficult and highly stressful. It was lovely to turn off for a few days knowing he was in capable, experienced and loving hands. Would definitely recommend Georgia to friends and family, and will definitely be using her again for when we go away or need someone to pop in to walk Tyson. Thank you so much Georgia 🥰 xx”

Simone was an absolutely wonderful dog sitter for Leo while we were away at a conference. She was reliable, punctual, and attentive to every detail we shared about Leo’s routine and preferences. What we appreciated most was the genuine care she showed him. She regularly sent us photos and updates, which gave us complete peace of mind. She made sure Leo ate well, drank enough water, and felt happy and comfortable throughout her stay. She also washed and cleaned him very carefully after each walk, which we really appreciated. We were especially touched by the little things she did, such as putting music on for Leo before leaving the house so he would feel more relaxed. Leo clearly adores Simone, and it is obvious that she has a natural connection with animals. We would not hesitate to trust her with Leo again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, dependable, and professional dog sitter.

Georgina was fantastic with our boy who isn't easy to deal with and was especially hard work with anxiety from being away from us. Despite this Georgina gave us lots of regular updates with photos, and always responds to any messages really quickly - would very highly recommend her to anyone.

Atlanta was amazing, she arrived on time after great communication in advance, introduced her to my two dogs, after 10 minutes spoke about the requirements for feeding them etc. had several updates via WhatsApp with photos during the stay. On arriving back dogs were happy as if nothing had happened which was exactly what I was hoping for. Atlanta did a great job and I have already got a nothing booking being sorted. No issues at all, I would recommend her and her service to anyone.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Preston walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Preston choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
