“Milo had a lovely overnight stay with Debbie whilst she stayed in our home with him. He is so well looked after and spoilt in her care a trip to the beach he thoroughly enjoyed her company. Debbie is such a great person to leave your pets with the best! Thanks as always.”

About: We have taken care of dogs and cats since we were both in our teens, we are both animal lovers and will treat your animals like they are our own. We have have both owned a number of different breeds from small dogs such as Jack Russell’s to big dogs like huskies and we have a lot of experience with staffy’s. We are both trained in basic doggie first aid and CPR as well as fully insured ⛑️ so you can rest assured your dogs are in safe hands. Pet sitting and walking is my full time job and my partner works part time so we are both available most of the time. We don’t walk on Sundays. I have a back tat that has high walls and a high fence. We have the best of both World as we do not currently live together so we can accommodate dogs that do not get on with other dogs as Ella can stay either of our homes. We are fully insured for Dog walking and pet sitting and we can provide the proof of this.

“Rowan was brilliant with our two cats, who instantly took to them and clearly felt safe with them. Rowan stayed overnight in our home with the cats, and left it clean, without any concerns. Rowan sent regular updates for how the cats were getting on, including photos. Rowan followed everything we asked of them, which we're very grateful for! We'll be booking Rowan again - thoroughly recommend!”

“Caroline did a fantastic job looking after my Bruno for a week. She is a pleasant and chatty lady who clearly loves animals. She sent me updates and pics every day. She is so good I have booked her again. Highly recommended”
About: Dog lover doesn’t even cut it 🐕 My Grandma spent her life rehoming dogs of all kinds to the point of 20+ at any given time and my Mum is also a dog groomer with 20+ years of experience who currently has 8 dogs of her own. I’ve lived with, taken care of and owned dozens of different breeds throughout my life. So you could say that being a dog lover is in my blood! I regularly house sit for friends and family members, including the CEO of my business who owns a large farm with 3 dogs, 5 cats, sheep, chickens, rabbits and cows. She, like me, loves nothing more than her animals and puts her trust in me taking care of her beloved furry family members. If I am not free, she doesn’t go away, she doesn’t trust anyone else. Take a look through my gallery of photos and I hope my love and passion for dogs will be glaringly obvious! Your pets wellbeing is my upmost priority and I really hope to meet some of your furry family members very soon. I have a completely flexible full-time remote career on a working from home basis. I also have a full UK drivers license that I’ve had for over 12 years. I purchased my first home a couple of years ago. It is a semi-detached house with stairs and a fenced garden, we also keep the garden gate locked 90% of the time unless it’s bin day. I work from home so I am around all day to make sure they are well looked after and provide plenty of cuddles.

“Very pleased with Tracy looking after Russet. Tracy always replied promptly to communications and looked after Russet and the house well. Would request Tracy again if she is agreeable.”

“Louis is a very nice, well mannered lad. He looked after my dog and 3 cats. They all seemed happy when I arrived back home after a night away. He kept me updated of the cats whereabouts and Barney loved his company. My house was left just as tidy as I had left it, I will definitely be booking him again and would recommend him to anyone”

About: - I have my own puppy, currently nearly 6 months old. - I care for my parents and neighbours dogs when needed. - Experience working with rescues, volunteering at local rescues since 12. - I worked in a zoo with all kinds of animals, lemurs and cotton top tamarins were my favourite. - Animal welfare is my priority. - I have a big fenced garden if required. - I do not have children, my home is me, my partner and my animals. - I don’t mind reactive/challenging animals. I currently work nights shifts on a consistent pattern of 3 shifts on, 3 shifts off. My boyfriend is home at night, most of the time there is only 1 hour alone. On my days off I enjoy exploring and walking. I have a set routine with my own animals to ensure their welfare needs are always met. I have worked in a zoo and on equine yards so I have experience checking boundaries are secure. I can follow specific instructions for individual pets as I understand how important routine and consistency can be for some.
“Samantha was great - she followed Caspian’s routine and kept me updated with loads of photos. He was very happy when I got home and if I’m honest I think he’s been missing her since! Will definitely ask her to look after Caspian again in the future, as he clearly had a great time. Would enthusiastically recommend Samantha to anyone considering a sitter!”

About: I have had my own dogs personally since i was five years old. I have grown up around dogs and also looked after family and friends dogs also. I am currently working part time so i have plenty of availability and time needed to look after them. I’m also available most weekend and evenings. I have a fenced garden that has plenty of space and a sausage dog named Colin who loves the company and loves to play with other dogs.

“Florence has been AMAZING with our nervous doggo, Nina. Really patient, understanding, considerate and accommodating to all of us. She made brilliant progress with Nina in a short time, and clearly has a great connection with animals. Very grateful to have come across Florence on here :)”

“Vanessa stayed in my house whilst I was away for a week. She kept us updated with videos and msgs. She had plans for a day out in the week which we knew about. As Ted hadn’t been left alone all day before, and the weather was hot, she kindly cut her day short to make sure he was ok. We were very grateful for her kindness doing that and showed us how much she cared for Ted. It was lovely to see Ted happy and settled with her. Vanessa looked after him so well and I know he will miss her. We came home to a clean and tidy house, and a very content dog. Thankyou Vanessa.”

About: Growing up our house was home to a number of different breeds of dogs that we loved and cared for very much. I've had a good exposure to varying temperaments and behaviours. Currently I'm a med student who attends university in Bristol Monday to Friday and the rest of my time is usually spent at home studying. I’m based in Bedminster but I have a car I can use if needed to drive out a little further for any dog walking or house-sitting requests.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Ribble Valley
Jasmine looked after my Frenchie Jack for a week in August. From the initial first message Jasmine was friendly & professional. We had 2 meet and greets before I went away where I found her to be attentive towards Jack and listened to me when I was explaining jacks routine & meditation plans. When I was away Jasmine kept Intouch daily, with messages and photos of Jack which put me at ease and I was able to enjoy my holiday knowing my fur baby was looked after. My home was kept clean and tidy throughout her stay and I came home last night to a well looked after dog and a clean house. I would highly recommend Jasmine and I definitely will be using her again for our next holiday.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Ribble Valley walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ribble Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
