“We hired simone for a full-day sitting service for our wedding, and they were amazing. Toby (our Cavapoo) and Milly (our Yorkie-poo) can be sensitive, but they were so relaxed, happy, and well looked after. It gave us complete peace of mind on our big day. Thank you so much!"”

“Camilla looked after Meg, my West Highland Terrier and my home wonderfully. She was very caring and I could tell when I returned home how they had bonded together. It was the first time I had used a sitter in my home but I would have no reservations in employing Camilla again. A big “Thank you”, Camilla from Sue and Meg.”

“Very pleased with Tracy looking after Russet. Tracy always replied promptly to communications and looked after Russet and the house well. Would request Tracy again if she is agreeable.”

“Debbie and Andrew looked after Luna for 2 nights and weee absolutely fantastic, they kept me up to date with how she was doing with lots of communication and pictures. Would recommend them to anyone. Thanks again”

“Our dog loves Matthew. They bonded straight away. He met all our dog’s needs and provided me and my husband with peace of mind that he was being well cared for. We would recommend Matthew to anyone. Thank you Matthew!”

“Sophie was fantastic. She took time to understand our 4 dogs, their needs and routine. Harvey was poorly when we were away and Sophie handled it all brilliantly with regular updates. Our home was immaculate when we returned. Polite, professional, true dog lover. Couldn’t recommend Sophie more.”

About: Growing up with dogs and cats, I’ve always had a natural bond with animals one built on trust, calm energy, and genuine care. I’ve looked after pets through every stage of life, from playful puppies to senior companions needing extra patience and support. For the past three years, I’ve been the go-to sitter for friends and family, caring for their pets in their own homes while they’re away. What sets me apart is the way I tune in to each animal’s personality and needs. I don’t just feed and walk I connect. I bring compassion, consistency, and a calm presence that helps pets feel safe, understood, and happy in their own space. And yes there’s always room for a silly voice, a belly rub, or a game of chase around the garden. I make sure pets have fun, not just care. I’m taking on pet care full-time it’s where my heart and energy belong. I’m currently open for bookings and ready to give pets the calm, fun, tuned-in care they deserve. When I’m pet sitting, I create a calm, predictable space where pets feel safe and understood. I follow their routines closely, tune into their moods, and let them settle in at their own pace or jump into play when they’re ready. I bring fun, presence, and a whole lot of heart, while always being respectful in your home and keeping things clean, tidy, and steady.

About: taken care of four dogs of different ages, many shelter cats and a lil pup. it’s time to bring my voluntary work to rover! I am currently fully flexible. I work as a freelance artist so my availability changes with each contract I work, as well as in between contracts. I pay great attention to detail so I will heed your every instruction. I also love animals so you can be sure your pets will be in very loving hands!
“I recently had the pleasure of having Rebecca look after my two dogs while I was away, and I couldn’t be happier with her service. Despite accepting the booking on short notice, Rebecca was incredibly punctual and reliable. My dogs, who can be quite shy, warmed up to her almost immediately, which speaks volumes about her friendly and caring nature. Rebecca went above and beyond by sending me regular photos and updates, which gave me peace of mind knowing my pets were in good hands. She is truly lovely and doesn’t hesitate to go the extra mile to ensure everything is perfect. I wouldn’t want anyone else to house sit for me next time I need this service. Highly recommended!”

About: Having always been around Dogs, Cats and Aquatics, I have a long history of pet care. Additionally, I have experience with pets with complex medical needs, along with pets of all ages - from over-eager babies to over-opinionated elders. Every circumstance is different, so I try my best to curate my services and tailor them to your needs specifically. I have also had the joy of working with many different breeds and mixes over the years, including all sizes. I currently House and Pet sit full-time. I am open to short or long-term bookings, and am happy to travel if needed, even outside of the distance marked on Rover. Safety is my first priority, and I'd much prefer to be safe than sorry. Any approved off-lead walking is off the table until not only I trust the dog, but the dog trusts me. If I'm not confident in a dogs socialising, or their reactiveness, I will keep to quieter walks or presence in the home. Equally, I will not force a pet to interact with me, a stranger; I'll encourage cuddles, play and routine to maintain a sense of stability for your pets, but please don't worry at the idea of me getting offended if they stick their noses up at me - I'm not their human! Any relationship takes time, and I hope to build trust and respect not only between humans, but between any animals and I as well. I endeavour to be as respectful to your home as possible, while being as practical as possible.

About: I have always had a love for animals and grew up around dogs. When I was younger, I was actually nervous around dogs, but through time I learned how to understand them and see how loving and special they can be :) I currently have an 11-month old puppy, Amber, who I have raised and trained. She is a friendly and playful dog who enjoys other dogs company. I love spending time with her, whether that’s walks, playing together or making sure she seems satisfied and comfortable. Looking after Amber, has taught me the importance of attention, patience and understanding when caring for dogs. I would love to provide other dogs with a safe, friendly environment while there owners are away. During the summer period I will be home most of the time, which means I am able to dedicate lots of attention and care to the dog I look after. I already have my own puppy, Amber, so taking care of a dog is part of my daily routine I want every dog I look after to feel safe, loved and comfortable just like they would at home. I understand every dog has their own personality and needs, so I will take the time to make sure they feel settled. I have my own friendly pup Amber, who enjoys other dogs company. I will ensure any dog in my care will have plenty of exercise, attention and playtime :)
About: I've had dogs, cats and other small fury animals ever since I've been little. I've also had friends and family members with pets that I have loved to be around and take care of. I am super passionate about animals and have looked after many neighbours dogs over the years too, either in my own home, or at theirs. I'm also vegan because I am so passionate about the welfare of all animals. I don't currently have any responsibilities such as children or a partner and I work for myself so I'm flexible and have the freedom to travel. My best friend is also a dog trainer, so I'm always picking up tips and helpful information about dogs. I currently have a chihuahua who is 7 years old who I adore. She lives with my mum and I, so she isn't my sole responsibility. I'm a very calm and grounded person and I often find that dogs and cats naturally gravitate towards my energy and loving nature. I work for myself, so my schedule is super flexible and I can work from anywhere in the world. Whether this is weekdays or weekends, I'm open to all. I'm able to follow the instructions to how you would like your pet to be cared for, whether this I can be to give you reassurance and peace of mind. I can also send daily updates if needed/preferred.

Viky was a great cat sitter. She looked after our cat Ted excellently and provided regular updates whilst we were away. She left our house clean and tidy and we look forward to hopefully using her services again in the future when it’s time for our next holiday. Thanks Viky!

Jacqueline was amazing! Our girls were so well looked after, we were a little bit nervous as one of our dogs had recently had surgery but Jacqueline made us feel at ease leaving her, she followed all of our instructions on what she wasn’t able to do etc. we will definitely use her again. Such a caring lady and communication was great! Thank you ☺️

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Ribble choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
