“We had the pleasure of having Simone stay in our home for 8 days to look after our dog Leo, and we couldn’t be more grateful. After having Leo for over six years, this was the first time I felt truly at ease going on a trip all thanks to Simone. She did a wonderful job, following every instruction perfectly, keeping our home tidy, and most importantly, caring for Leo with genuine love and attention. She kept us regularly updated, and it was clear Leo was happy and comfortable. Simone is responsible, kind, and incredibly trustworthy. We would welcome her back anytime without hesitation. Highly recommended!”

“Our dog loves Matthew. They bonded straight away. He met all our dog’s needs and provided me and my husband with peace of mind that he was being well cared for. We would recommend Matthew to anyone. Thank you Matthew!”

“Jacqueline was more than 5 star if I could give more I would . Mango was so happy and content when I got back . He had a great time at the park, she even took him for food. All his meals and walks were followed to the letter . More than happy with the service, I will be using Jacqueline again . My only worry she will get booked up quickly . Excellent thank you so much”

“Debbie was absolutely brilliant with our FIVE, yes FIVE dogs ! A mother dachshund and four five week old puppies for the day. She came in advance to meet us all and sent me updates through the day. I knew straightaway that she was an experienced animal lover. I would recommend Debbie 100% and will definitely ask for her again if I need more help over the coming weeks.”

“Very pleased with Tracy looking after Russet. Tracy always replied promptly to communications and looked after Russet and the house well. Would request Tracy again if she is agreeable.”

About: Having always been around Dogs, Cats and Aquatics, I have a long history of pet care. Additionally, I have experience with pets with complex medical needs, along with pets of all ages - from over-eager babies to over-opinionated elders. Every circumstance is different, so I try my best to curate my services and tailor them to your needs specifically. I have also had the joy of working with many different breeds and mixes over the years, including all sizes. I currently House and Pet sit full-time. I am open to short or long-term bookings, and am happy to travel if needed, even outside of the distance marked on Rover. Safety is my first priority, and I'd much prefer to be safe than sorry. Any approved off-lead walking is off the table until not only I trust the dog, but the dog trusts me. If I'm not confident in a dogs socialising, or their reactiveness, I will keep to quieter walks or presence in the home. Equally, I will not force a pet to interact with me, a stranger; I'll encourage cuddles, play and routine to maintain a sense of stability for your pets, but please don't worry at the idea of me getting offended if they stick their noses up at me - I'm not their human! Any relationship takes time, and I hope to build trust and respect not only between humans, but between any animals and I as well. I endeavour to be as respectful to your home as possible, while being as practical as possible.
“Camilla looked after Meg, my West Highland Terrier and my home wonderfully. She was very caring and I could tell when I returned home how they had bonded together. It was the first time I had used a sitter in my home but I would have no reservations in employing Camilla again. A big “Thank you”, Camilla from Sue and Meg.”

About: I've had dogs, cats and other small fury animals ever since I've been little. I've also had friends and family members with pets that I have loved to be around and take care of. I am super passionate about animals and have looked after many neighbours dogs over the years too, either in my own home, or at theirs. I'm also vegan because I am so passionate about the welfare of all animals. I don't currently have any responsibilities such as children or a partner and I work for myself so I'm flexible and have the freedom to travel. My best friend is also a dog trainer, so I'm always picking up tips and helpful information about dogs. I currently have a chihuahua who is 7 years old who I adore. She lives with my mum and I, so she isn't my sole responsibility. I'm a very calm and grounded person and I often find that dogs and cats naturally gravitate towards my energy and loving nature. I work for myself, so my schedule is super flexible and I can work from anywhere in the world. Whether this is weekdays or weekends, I'm open to all. I'm able to follow the instructions to how you would like your pet to be cared for, whether this I can be to give you reassurance and peace of mind. I can also send daily updates if needed/preferred.

I also love animals so you can be sure your pets will be in very loving hands!

“Florence has been AMAZING with our nervous doggo, Nina. Really patient, understanding, considerate and accommodating to all of us. She made brilliant progress with Nina in a short time, and clearly has a great connection with animals. Very grateful to have come across Florence on here :)”

“This was the first time we have left our numerous fur babies with a non family member, and we can’t speak highly enough of Sophie’s service. Through guiding us how to use the app, pre-visits to get to know the pets (2 cats, 2 dogs), lots of communication, and just a generally nice, professional attitude, we are very happy with the service, and can’t recommend her highly enough. We will be very happy to use her again in the future.”

I have a very small for her age husky who gets along with other dogs with no issues.

About: I have had dogs in my life from a very young age and have always been a dog person. I have experience handling many different types of dogs and have always cared for and looked after dogs for friends and family when needed or asked. I have experience in training and also puppy handling as my dad bred English Pointers for over 5 years. I am a recently graduated student currently living at home! I want to use my summer to take care of your dogs in my spare time. My schedule fluctuates at the minute but from the middle of May 2026 will be completely open!! Offering a safe, warm and welcoming environment for all dogs. I will ensure there are no food or dangerous items left around the house. I take pride in keeping everything tidy in and around my home. About: My family have rescued and rehomed animals my entire life. We have also had our own cats and dogs over the years amongst other animals such as birds. We even took care of a little baby lamb we named daffodil who needed to be hand fed. I have experience with westies as we have had these dogs all my life. However, I have cared for other breeds too. I have so much love for animals and I would love to share this with your baby should you need this when you are away. Because let's be real they are always our little babies and we want to know they are safe and loved. I spent ten years working in hospitals caring for people before finding another career and I remember all the stories I would hear of all the special Cats/Dogs that were part of these people lives and family. Happy to answer any questions should you have any. I work flexible hours from home so with enough advance notice I can look after your pet in your own home to provide them with their usual comforts. I have spent the last 10 years working in healthcare so I have knowledge in regards to medication if this is required. I have my own cat and family dog and have looked after cats/dogs previously so understand routines. Of course lots of love and cuddles too. But I will always let them find their trust in me first.

Viky was a great cat sitter. She looked after our cat Ted excellently and provided regular updates whilst we were away. She left our house clean and tidy and we look forward to hopefully using her services again in the future when it’s time for our next holiday. Thanks Viky!

Jacqueline was amazing! Our girls were so well looked after, we were a little bit nervous as one of our dogs had recently had surgery but Jacqueline made us feel at ease leaving her, she followed all of our instructions on what she wasn’t able to do etc. we will definitely use her again. Such a caring lady and communication was great! Thank you ☺️

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Ribble choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
