About: I have had a strong interest in all animals since being young. I regularly cared for family & neighbours pets from being a child. I now own four rabbits, a hamster, a turtle, fish and a 7 month old puppy named Ralph! Happy to deal with any training and care needs as I regularly train my own puppy and administer medication for my rabbits. My partner Lewis and I have opposite shift work so there is always somebody available. Caring for animals is my passion and I will enjoy the company. We can work around your needs to make it work for you. Happy owner, happy pet! I have a fenced garden and a sociable and friendly dog, so your dog always has a play mate. I have a spare bedroom that includes a crate so we can create a safe space for your dog if needed. I have a field close by and if your dog is not great with recall we have long leads available so they can get the exercise they need. With guidance from you, I would be happy to help with training and socialising your dog to keep them in a routine as much as possible.

About: Hi, I'm Tracey, a lifelong dog and cat lover with years of hands-on experience caring for furry companions of all shapes and sizes. I offer pet sitting and walking services where your pet will receive plenty of love, cuddles, and attentive care. I live on a very quiet and safe estate called Holland House in Walton le Dale that's free from hustle and bustle ideally placed to be local for many surrounding areas spanning anywhere south of Preston... to Chorley and many places in between. Living where I do I'm spoilt for choice with places to go for walks long and short and have the added benefit of a local woods within a stone's throw from home. From experience I understand the importance of maintaining routines and giving your pet the necessary level of attention to feel happy and safe while you're away. Having adopted from rescue I understand some pets are more sensitive and like quiet spaces and as I don't have any pets of my own I can always offer a really calm environment. I hope to have reassured you that you've found a dependable, affectionate, and experienced sitter and would be honored to help so just send me a message, make an enquiry or let me know about any specific needs especially regarding elderly pets or ones that may need medicating as I'm more than happy to accommodate their needs. A bit about me... I've had the joy of raising 3 wonderful dogs and 4 cats over the years including those from rescue centres. Sadly I said goodbye to my last two cherished companions in recent years: Cookie, my sweet 12-year-old Chihuahua who passed away in April 2024, and Baxter, a lovable crossbreed rescue from the RSPCA who lived an amazing 17 years before passing in 2022. These incredible pets filled my life with joy, and while I can’t currently have pets of my own due to work commitments, I miss the companionship and joy that they bring so I'd love to provide a safe, caring, kind, and loving environment for your furry friends while you're away. I also have the pleasure of being a proud "grand pup" sitter occasionally for my two son's dogs — Winston, a playful French Bulldog, and Bailey, a sweet Shih Tzu. Caring for them has only deepened my love for looking after pets and understanding their unique personalities. Additional Note: I'm DBS‑checked (Enhanced) — as my professional background is in Education. I work full-time Mon-Thu so available for sitting for your pets all day/night Fri-Sun. I also work in education so, as my profile indicates, predominantly able to accommodate periods of school closures as well as weekends. I live in quiet cul-de-sac so free from main roads/traffic noise and passers by. The garden is 100% secure and have no adjoining gardens with any pets. Our estate is large and has a local woods with river giving lovely local walks. I'm lucky to live within a stones throw if all major motorways so can travel to many surrounding towns and villages easily if booked for pet sitting at your own home. Any pet in my care is treated as if they were my own so rest assured I'd be giving the love, kindness and attention you'd expect for them.
“I contacted Atlanta for drop-in visits to care for our puppies, and I couldn’t be happier with her service. From the very first interaction, she was prompt and professional, taking the time to visit our home beforehand to meet my family and the puppies. Atlanta’s nurturing personality and genuine love for animals really shines through. She’s incredibly thorough in following instructions to care for our puppies, which gave me peace of mind knowing they were in great hands. We’ve now booked weekly drop-ins, and the puppies absolutely adore her! It’s clear that Atlanta is dedicated to providing the best care possible. We trust her completely to look after our puppies while we’re at work. If you’re looking for a compassionate and trustworthy animal lover to care for your pets, look no further—Atlanta is the one! Thank you, Atlanta, for all that you do!”

“Aaliyah provided exceptional care to our cat (Millie) on each visit! Aaliyah sent plenty of updates with photos and managed to bring our very shy Millie out of her shell immediately! All care instructions were followed exactly as laid out and Millie has definitely made a new friend! :)”

About: Life-long pet owner who loves long walks. I’ve raised dogs and cats since childhood and actively run in charity races to support animal shelters. I am currently at home full-time, giving me complete flexibility to dedicate my entire daily and weekly routine to loving, unhurried pet care. I have got a plenty of time to take care of your puppy I provide a fully enclosed, secure garden and a very fun environment with my two friendly British cats and plenty of toys for continuous stimulation and safety.
About: I have been around animals all my life, having had dogs and cats, as well as hamsters. I look after my sister's dog when I can, she is a yellow Labrador. This also includes house-sitting at their house in London. I also sometimes look after my aunt and uncle's dogs (Labradors and a Sheep Dog) at their house in the Lake District. I have been a member of Borrow my Doggy in the past to help look after dogs or take them for walks. I use Trusted House Sitters for when I want to go further away from home and have stayed at homes with multiple animals including dogs, cats and sheep. I don’t have any pets of my own at the moment due to accommodating limitations, but I plan on getting them when I am able to. Some of the pets I have looked after recently: - Bozo: he was a gentle giant and I miss him very much, I only knew him as an older dog but he was always up for a walk and would communicate when he'd had enough. - Winnie: an energetic young lab, loves walks and playing fetch. I've looked after her both in the Cotswolds and in London. - Juniper: a loving black lab, she's so affectionate and is always climbing on my lap. Not a huge fan of the rain which doesn't help when she lives in the Lake District! But she's always the first in the sea when at the beach. - Polly: an older girl who is more of a cat to be honest, she loves spreading out in the sun or in front of the fireplace. She's not as active as she used to be so prefers being left at home for longer walks, but will have a good run around the garden. - Willow: a French Bulldog. I spent three weeks looking after her while her owners were abroad. She’s the sweetest pup and was crazy for a tennis ball. We went on many adventures and walks around the countryside. I am a mature student completing my research degree and have plenty of time to fit pets into my routine. I’m always up early and I have my own car so am able to travel, and I am happy to take dogs in my car too. I am unable to take pets in my accommodation so am not able to host. However for owner’s homes I am always respectful of property, I clean up after myself and bring minimal belongings. I prefer clear instructions/guidance on what each pet needs and will always follow these.

“Jacob was amazing, we booked a visit before we went away and the cats fell in love, made them nice and comfortable for when we went away! Prompt to reply and sent regular updates on them, which is what every pet owner wants. Would 100% book again in the future!”

About: I have had cats since I was little, adopting them from friends, the RSPCA or relatives. I have also owned rabbits, and dogs, in the past as an adult. My dog experience includes an excitable Border Collie, a happy-go-lucky mixed breed and a fun-loving German Shepherd. I do miss dog walks and dog cuddles, but currently one of my adopted senior cats isn't keen on dogs so I am currently a dog free house! I have looked after pets since I was about 5 or 6 so have nearly 50 years experience with animals.I work from home so if you have wifi and need a sitter in your home, I can be in most of the day with your pet. I love walking dogs on or off lead and I am happy to go with the personality of your pet, whether that's a cat that likes their own space, or a dog who wants cuddles and long outdoor walks. As for my cats, they have my Mum to look after them when I am away, so I can do overnight or longer stays. I work in education, have a car, flexibility on dates/times and I will look after your pet as if they are my own, sending lots of photos and updates. I work Monday-Friday in term-time, and work from home, with occasional meetings outside my home, depending on schedule. I usually get up, feed my cats, have breakfast, start work at 8 and if I'm in a Teams meeting online, try to keep my cats from coming into shot or stepping all over my keyboard! Sometimes I might need to do an external visit or meeting, but if so then I am back home within 1-2hrs. At tea time the cats get fed again. At the weekends my cats have to wait a little longer for breakfast if I have a lie-in. At home I have a fenced-in garden, a cat flap and litter trays. I also have a small park 5 mins walk away where I used to walk my dogs, and a larger one 10 mins drive away. I live in a very quiet cul de sac.

About: We’re a caring and reliable couple who have both grown up with dogs and cats our entire lives. We understand that every pet has their own personality and needs, and we always take the time to make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. Whether it’s energetic walks, keeping up with routines, or simply giving extra cuddles, we treat every pet as if they were our own. You can count on us to provide a loving, safe, and attentive experience while you're away.
“Michelle was brilliant with Ringo. She contacted to let us know everything was ok and that Ringo was happy. Would easily use Michelle's services again. Thank you so much.”
“Very happy with Sophie’s services! - she really went above and beyond looking after my cat. I’d even had some builders in that had made a bit of a mess and she tidied up for the cats safety when she really didn’t need to. Highly recommend and will be using again! 😊”

About: We’ve both had separate childhood dogs and now have our own furry baby who we trained from being a pup! The majority of our experience lies with caring for spaniels but we love all breeds. We can cater for all your pet’s needs, such as having a crate available, feeding them their favourite food/treats, taking them to their favourite walking destination, having a puppy carrier (for puppies who are yet to go on walks before their immunisations) and much more! We work full-time but different shifts, meaning we are available every weekend, some weekdays and some evenings, after 5pm. Our availability is different each week. We have a large, fenced back garden with a side gate that has no gaps underneath. We have a dog crate and plenty of toys and space in the house for your dog to run and play in!
About: I’ve always loved animals since I can remember, I was the kid holding the cat on all the photos and outside with the dog at parties! Numerous friends and family have trusted me with their pets over the years and I’ve loved having them all. Last year after buying my own house I realised my lifelong dream of getting a puppy, he’s my world so I understand the importance of trusting your family member to someone to be cared for. We also had two hours rabbits who lived until ten and Hugo adored them. My job has enabled me to socialise him with all kinds of dogs and people since he was 10 weeks old, he’s the sweetest boy and loves any play mate. While in my care I will treat your companion as if they’re my own with full access to the house and garden, with regular toilet breaks and walks. I also have a downstairs bathroom which enables me to easily bath anybody who’s been having too much fun in the mud. I have experience with puppies and senior dogs and will follow any specific instructions given to provide you with the best piece of mind when you leave your companion with us.if you have specific requests or times needed please don’t hesitate to ask me directly and I’ll help out where i can I work full time but within the animal care industry so understand the importance of routine. Morning walks and toileting are possible and lunchtime visits, then I usually get home around 4/4:30 so another walk evening time is always on the cards. As described I do have a dog within my household, he I an intact male but the softest boy. He has never shown any domination on any setting and has lots of male and female friends. If I’m my home your dog would have vip access to any area and I can also provide a place for a crate if that’s how they’re most comfortable. If asking me to stay in your home I would ask you to be aware I would need to bring Hugo with me so this may not be suitable for everyone. However we have done this successfully in the past.
“Charlotte looked after my cats whilst we were away and I couldn’t have been happier! She sent lots of updates and I felt very reassured that the cats were doing well! Would book with her again! Thank you!”

Michelle was very friendly, professional and helpful. This was our first time working with her and we were nervous about how our usually very timid cat would take to a new sitter. However, Michelle made friends with him from the get go and everything went perfectly smoothly! We would recommend Michelle for any and all pet sitting needs in a heartbeat!

Jacob was amazing, we booked a visit before we went away and the cats fell in love, made them nice and comfortable for when we went away! Prompt to reply and sent regular updates on them, which is what every pet owner wants. Would 100% book again in the future!

Alex has been excellent from start to finish. A pre-start appointment was arranged so that paperwork could be completed. Plus the details of where food was kept and the location of my cat’s feeding station. Alex is a genuinely warm and caring person who loves cats. He communicated with me during my vacation and sent pictures of my cat to reassure me. I would have no hesitation in recommending him, 100%
Leaving my 16 year old boy Pip whos on palletive care and has dementia was very nerve wracking but Sharon was absolutely fantastic giving me that peace of mind while i was away. She was very patient with Pip and worked at a slower pace for him and managed special routines. Sharon always attended to Pips needs on time. She was very trusworthy, patient and had the ability to manage a senior routine and the ability of handling medication and complex needs of a senior dog. Sharon provided regular updates and photos. Sharon had a lot of love and time for Pip. Thank you so much. Much appreciated. Marie and Pip x

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
